  1. I've driven a Tesla Model S since 2012 and, while I love it, I would not buy another Tesla because of the shenanigans of the head guy. It is also a little bigger than I wish it were so will definitely go smaller for the next car. But I am completely converted to electric. Haven't put gas in a car other than a rental since 2013. Not going back. We had a dedicated 220 circuit added to charge it overnight at home and range is no problem whatsoever. I used to commute up to 450 miles a week in it before I retired.
  2. I agree with @AstridM that you described it beautifully. And I love that you've named a couple of local crows Edgar Allen and Sheryl. 🤣
  3. Same here. I was sad for Jet and I was really sad for Antonia. Maneet won fair and square but I really wish the final two had been those two, instead (even though I know the bracket as currently constructed doesn't allow that).
  4. Completely agree. I still look forward to this show but this season has not worked well. I love Mouch as a character and it was nice to see Trudy's badassery, as always, but it took me three tries to get through this episode without falling asleep.
  5. That's almost a prose-poem. I seriously think there is a heck of a poem in that piece. Thanks for sharing. (but I still like possums)
  6. I'm sorry to hear you were in the hospital with breathing issues, @zoomama, but glad we are still here to welcome you back!
  7. Opossums also don't get rabies and are real custodians of the environment, literally. I also think they are so ugly they wrap back around to cute.
  8. It has to be a challenge for any Duggar "kid" to figure out that schedules and structure are actually good for kids (or for them!). They were raised pretty feral without much in the way of structure and they were raised to actively resist any hint of critical thinking so breaking out of that to see a different way seems like it could be a real shift. Not defending Jessa letting her kids stand in the fridge drinking milk out of the container or waiting until they fall over asleep to put them to bed, just thinking "out loud."
  9. Is this show on hiatus? I don't see any upcoming episodes, which seems odd.
  10. I liked hearing that Amanda is a D&D player, but then I am a passionate cook who spends every weekend in one to three different D&D games so our Venn diagrams really line up.
  11. When Violet said her dramatic "they're coming after 51!" at the end I literally groaned and responded, "not again!" I also wondered why they introduced a couple of new police jerks instead of using the PD people.
  12. This is my take on Guy as well. I don't love the persona he puts on for a lot of his FN shows but I get the sense (plus from what I know of his charitable work cooking for disaster survivors here in Northern CA) that he is a genuinely good guy.
  13. I'm grateful for the JENEROSITY* of spirit shown by so many here. *(if the Duggars can forcibly change the spellings of G words to match their theme, so can I)
  14. I suspect others feel similar to the way I do. I have been chatting with many here for close to a couple of decades in several website iterations (TwoP on--there's a reason I have not changed this dumb username). This iteration of the discussion in particular is honestly one of the most inclusive spaces I've found online full stop. Many of you have been with me through the deaths of two parents. To be told without discussion that we're doing it wrong, to be threatened with deletion, and to have such a refusal of engagement on how to improve, is infuriating, infantilizing, and depressing.
  15. It's not just you. It's "you people in the demographic we're not interested in are making trouble with your rationality so shut up while we quietly let the active threads with good community die. But we're not going to engage with you because we've already made up our minds."
  16. Same, please. I am beyond frustrated with the current situations, as others have articulated.
  17. I found this episode to be deadly dull. Actually had to come here to read the summary (thanks for that @CrazyInAlabama!) to remember what any of the pitches were.
  18. Happy anniversary, @ChiCricket!
  19. I started it last night but did not finish it yet. It did not grab me at all, despite the fact that I like Eric, Antonia, and Jet. The premise leaves me pretty cold.
  20. That was really interesting (photo of Darnell aside), thank you for posting it!
  21. I second this recommendation. I've had one severe bout of vertigo and numerous much easier ones. For me, the Epley maneuver is somewhat helpful but the half-somersault maneuver is much more helpful. There are numerous videos to show how to do it. Best of luck--vertigo is awful!
  22. I thought it was supposed to be an example of what the guidelines describe as "highlighting threads and posts that foster constructive dialogue." Which baffles me because I don't think referring to other posters as "Karens in training" and calling them "unbalanced" exemplifies constructive dialogue. So I am also confused about what the pinned post is meant to convey.
  23. I hate the condescending use of the royal "we" in the note about whatever the issues are with the white hot passion of a thousand burning suns.
  24. This forum has been a nice break and a refuge for me from TwoP to previously.tv and now here. I don't get why the urge to shut down our interactions rather than say what the issue is and ask to fix it. I've been around the internet a while and this group is generally one of the most respectful and mindful that I've seen. Not sure why this "unbroke" thing needs to be fixed. And yes, if it is not okay to snark in this space anymore than that's a big shift that needs to be communicated. I've gotten a lot of support from fellow posters here and I'll be sorry to see it go.
