That's what I thought, that they filmed them in a different order. The judges tasted first and then the bakers did. I don't remember exactly why I thought that but it makes sense with what those of you who were paying more attention are saying.

This semi-final made me cry, I loved it so much. I also loved Gill stealing the lilac bowl at the end. This is the best group in a long time.

I'm not crazy about the premise but I am very happy to get Antonia instead of Anne. I love Antonia, I actually thought Jeff did okay the last time he did the show, and I will miss Anne's hyper-competitiveness not at all so I agree this is promising.

Man, Kevin was even more of a jerk than usual this week and that's saying something.

This is the Allison Victoria renovation I have liked the best out of the entire franchise. Or to say it differently, this is the only Allison Victoria renovation I have ever not hated on the entire franchise.

I am surprised at how much I am enjoying the relay tournament. I find the format fun to watch and I've enjoyed most of the chefs (other than Crista Luedtke, whom I've never warmed to for some reason, though she did a good job in her episode).

How about you do your East Coast crab cakes and let those of us on the West Coast enjoy our Dungeness? I think both are good.

It was really stupid, especially that she kept doing it. The oven is going to cool off and you are going to hurt someone. I've been cooking for decades and never once left the oven open after I took something out of it.

I did not enjoy Katsuji at all. I found his comments about tasting his tongue were unnecessary, tantamount to sexual harassment, and not cute.

I make crab cakes with Dungeness when I make them, but then I am on the West Coast so Dungeness are local to me.

What a beautiful kitty and she looks so good for 20! Got my COVID booster and flu shot today. Not nearly the side effects yet that I've had with earlier COVID shot doses (certainly not the initial few). I do feel exhausted and will be ordering food delivery and tucking myself into bed early but neither of those is a hardship. I have a big in-person birthday celebration coming up in a bit less than a month with my husband, sister (coming from across the country), and best friend (coming from a couple of hours away) so we are all updating our vaxxes in advance.

So dumb that they keep taking these huge breaks. I understand not wanting to counterprogram the Olympics but then they came back for like two episodes in one night and now they are off for another week. As if I needed an excuse to further disengage from this craptastic ageist season.

I still enjoy the show, though do I wish they would go with blind judging. I agree the opening is dumb and overlong. I always fast forward past it.

I agree Sunny dialed the annoying up to 11 in this episode and that she is playing a caricature. I do not enjoy a single thing about her bad sport heckling persona. Nothing.

I took fencing classes for a while decades ago and look forward to watching it in the Olympics every four years. It was nice to be able to see so much of it this time on the E! daytime coverage and USA daytime coverage.

The tag team with the professional "wrestlers" shrieking at them was a new low of stupid and unwatchable. I have seen tag teams done in other cooking shows but making them switch every five minutes is just idiotic. But the whole thing was idiotic so I guess it tracks. I liked Sola and cannot get rid of the obnoxious empanada crew soon enough so the ending of this one was a big disappointment.
