  1. I *loved* that line...and then she adjusted her tiara headband. Suzanne was always my favorite.
  2. Shiplap. I'd never heard of this until Fixer Upper. Was it always admired? Watching Fixer Upper, I must say that a little bit of shiplap is really attractive. But they tend to go all out with this stuff.
  3. I remember when our PBS station would air that wonderful Pete Seeger documentary. The phones would be ringing off the hook. Haven't seen it in the past year or so. I love it because there are several scenes at his house on the mountain overlooking the Hudson River. Also love the segment where he's singing on stage with Arlo Guthrie, and his (Pete's) grandson.
  4. Make that a family of six: 2 boys, 2 girls + the parents. I love that British expression, gobsmacked. That's what I was this afternoon.
  5. Well, I turned on LIOLI this afternoon and was shocked. The featured house getting the Hilary treatment was owned by family friends back in the late 70's! I called my sister to make sure. After she watched the show, she agreed. When I had dinner at this house, the dinner table was where the current owners had their table--between the small kitchen & the huge wall of windows. A family of 5 lived in this house--3 teens & their parents. And these guys were fretting about the lack of space ☺
  6. Two new episodes tonight, starting at 8:00 PM., according to my TV schedule in the Washington Post. I thought this show was over. I wonder if they've moved away from the Raleigh/Durham area. All I like to see is what Hillary can do with the house (& I hit the mute during all the in-between drama!)
  7. Thirty years ago a dept store make-up person said I had Donna Mills type eyes. Maybe she wanted me to buy more products? For the past 15 years I've been told that I look like an area pediatrician. So, that's why little kids stare at me when I'm out & about 😊
  8. Toenails: OPI's Rose At Dawn-Broke By Noon. Fingernails: Essie's Ballet Slippers or Limo-Scene...and: Revlon's: Sheer Petal or Up In Charms These fingernail polish colors are all *very* pale pink.
  9. Roast pork tenderloin marinated in soy sauce, maple syrup, mustard & brown sugar, along w/ baked tomatoes and potato gratins. No room for dessert 😏
  10. Something I do with Facebook Friends I like but can't stand most of their posts (re: religion or politics, etc.,) is to click on "hide Suzy's posts" or "hide forever Suzy's posts', something like that. This way I can keep my "friends" but don't have to wade through their annoying posts on my page. Every few days I go to their page and if I like a post (photo of grandchild, puppy or kitty, or funny joke ,etc) I click "like" on it. They have no idea I'm ignoring 99.9% of their posts.
  11. I cannot stand the Do-wop shows. Initially, they were fun but the PBS stations show them over and over ad nauseum. I wish our PBS stations would show some good foreign films. There must be some good ones that won't cost a fortune to obtain.
  12. Can someone recommend a tanning cream that doesn't streak? I've been using Jergens for several years but now it seems to be streaking a lot on my legs.
  13. Thank God for caller ID. We hardly ever pick up our landline phones since most of the calls are now spam types. I wish I knew which calls were political surveys because those I would definitely answer. How do pollsters know they're reaching the right folks for info' on the different candidates? If they'd just have some type of ID that said "Warren or Biden or Whoever's Survey" I'd pick up. Years ago we could do that. Re: landline phones? I'm never giving up mine. During 9/11, they said cellphones in our area weren't working (I was trying to get back from FL that awful day so I didn't experience that). Gotta be connected!
  14. Uh-oh...it's a good thing we don't live near each other cause I've taken up chewing gum when I drive. It keeps me from grinding my teeth. Traffic is rather dicey around here. But I don't chew gum any other time.
  15. But...would I be able to successfully twirl it on a fork? 😊
  16. I started using a somewhat shallow Dutch oven-style pot to cook pasta in. This pot came in one of those sets, probably from Macy's. I like that I don't have to stand there and wait for the spaghetti to bend so I can fit it into a saucepan.
  17. If I want one of the recipes while watching a show, I immediately go to their website after the show and copy it. Those recipes can disappear quickly, in my experience, to be replaced with a notice that you have to subscribe first.
  18. My sister warned me away from Nutella. (Her description was all I needed to hear. If I'm going to eat chocolate, I'll buy & munch on a Hershey's Milk Chocolate W/ Almonds bar.) A lot of chocolate from Europe, really is off-putting to me. It tastes like it was made with sour milk
  19. ~shudder~ A friend was talking about how much she & a relative loved caramelized onion hummus (made and sold by Wegmans). It sounded good so I bought it. Egads...it was awful. OTT sweet mixed into hummus. What was I thinking?
  20. Pork fried rice and spicy mango salad.
  21. Several Xmases ago we were on a small commuter jet and watched a woman working hard to jam her carry-on into the overhead bin. This was going on for at least 10 minutes when she said to another woman (who was trying to help her), "It's a sewing machine". I've never seen anyone place a carry-on in one of those measuring things.
  22. I was just thinking a few minutes ago that it's a good thing I take a lot of vitamins cause today was not the most nutritious day for me. Frozen waffles for breakfast. Annual community picnic: burger, pork bbq, meh potato salad, and baked beans. Supper was meh delivery pizza & a Greek salad. I was thinking of the vitamins as I was scooping some vanilla ice cream into a bowl w/ fresh strawberries & a bit of fudge sauce +I fat free ReddiWhip. I think I need some ginger ale!😮
  23. Relationshippers. OK 😉 Thanks!
  24. Good grief. Do other sports have such sick puppies as fan(atic)s? This is pathetic. Duh. I just figured out where the term shippers comes from--worshippers, right? Took me a while 🙄
  25. I found it strange that this was all big news, even the existence of their dating was big news. Weren't these sweethearts seen out and about while dating? Oh well, I've always found Scott to be strange so maybe this shouldn't surprise me at all.
