  1. Shrimp Curry w/ basmati rice, and a salad.
  2. The only people who pronounce Maryland the way it's spelled are folks from other countries. I didn't realize that until I heard a Canadian say MaryLand.

    MSNBC

Probably cause they were taking up too much time and/or it was annoying to a lot of viewers.
  4. We had Katie Lee's Breakfast Bread last night for supper and Spicy Mango Salad. I used Wegmans brand naan and didn't really care for it--it didn't get toasty in the oven like the regular brands do. Supermarket brands are not always the best, in my experience. Unfortunately, Wegmans drops certain brands & just sells their own brand in some foods. They did a survey about their brands vs regular brands, recently, so I let them know how I felt about that ☺️
  5. BW... ya did good getting the noodles, butter & lemon. It's not a strong lemon flavor. Too strong and you'll think it's got some cleanser in it. So, just a hint of fresh lemon juice is enough 😊
  6. We saw this incredible movie today and I'm still thinking about it (IMO, that means it was a great film). I didn't see the Queen movie as I don't like their music, so I can't compare the two. Taron became Elton so easily. What a heartbreaking childhood he had, except for a loving grandmother. The scene that got me was when Elton "met" little Reggie who asked for a hug. Whew! What a good & valuable friend Bernie has been over the years. So, when did they create Candle in the Wind--after this segment of his life?
  7. Chicken Paprikash and Spicy Mango Salad.
  8. I don't have to drive over the dreaded bay bridge, do I? 😁 I'm on my way!
  9. I like both but just buy the smooth now so I can also use it to make peanut sauce for noodles, or chicken satay. I grew up eating Peter Pan but since that company has had issues twice with e coli?? I switched to Jif Simple and Skippy. Also like almond butter, the Maranatha brand (I find it cheaper in Walmart). Love peanut butter but never liked peanut butter cookies!
  10. Not sure if this link will work but last night I somehow found this guy's Facebook page & some of the funny stuff had me laughing out loud. Since there haven't been any jokes on here since April, I figured I'd share this nutty guy's page. Oh...there are a few naughty ones but most of them are funny (just skip the naughty ones). https://www.facebook.com/TheRealJoeOLeary/
  11. Wegmans has lots of the small carts which I always grab. The other supermarkets either don't have them or only have a few. I don't care if the groceries are hanging all over the place in/on my cart...it's just so much easier to maneuver those little carts vs the big ones. I think I'm going to ask the mgr at Harris Teeter to get some more (I'll be wearing my post-back surgery brace anyway so she'll get the message that these little carts are good for some of their customers).
  12. Uh-oh...never thought of that. Now I'm going to be worried each time I see a new post has arrived. My favorite character was the grumpy patient...Mr. Carlisle? Can't remember his name. And I loved Marcia Wallace, the world's best receptionist. She knew how to handle those guys.
  13. Aw...I loved Mary Richards and had a dark navy coat and beret just like hers. Somewhere I have a photo of me standing next to this statue (when it was Macy's in back) and I'm pretending to toss my visor. It was odd, though, that Mary's apt had that big window because when they'd show the house, the big window was on the top floor (where poor Rhoda lived).
  14. Me too. I loved the show right from the start because I was working in a Congressional office and our AA (today's AA's have fancier titles, of course) was our very own Ted Baxter. We all loathed him. He was a legend in his own mind, just like Ted.
  15. Had no idea TJ sold lemon pappardelle. I cooked plain pappardelle tonight, added butter, lemon juice & parmesan to have w/ reheated leftover grilled pork chops & a salad. Valerie Bertinelli's blueberry tart for dessert.
  16. Talk with the center's dietician and/or chef about adding buttered noodles w/ lemon (or just buttered noodles, & you do the lemon addition at your table). I have a feeling they're always interested in suggestions of nutritious + delicious dishes & this would be so easy to fulfill!
  17. I sure do wish Joanna Gaines had her own show. Her husband's immature antics were OTT irritating & took up too much time that could've been used to show more of their renovations.
  18. Glorioski--fish sticks! I hope they're tastier today than when we had them back in the 60's. They probably are now similar to fish & chips, right? I love fish & chips with tartar sauce. Buttered lemony noodles are my all time favorite dish.
  19. All these meals sounded so good compared with my boring ham steak, leftover potato salad, & tossed salad, so I decided to have coconut ice cream for dessert.

I like this and hope they make some kind of changes. Guess it would be too much to expect them to dump that ridiculous Morning Joe show. But that would be a good place to start, followed by replacing Chuck at 5:00.
  21. Grilled pork chops with Montreal Steak Seasoning, fresh thyme, & a squirt of lemon; potato salad, Ina's Confetti Corn, and cole slaw (had to use the bag of shredded cabbage & carrots before it went bad). No dessert--we're stuffed!
  22. I checked out Prune, by Gabrielle Hamilton, from the library and just started perusing the recipes. I got to softshell crabs where she instructs one to "snip off eyes & gills of live crabs". & that's when I shut the book. I love to cook & try new recipes. Love to read cookbooks. But this was a major turnoff for me.
  23. Well...ex large eggs have egg whites that are slimey and ooze all over the place. I tried two times and have returned to plain large eggs. I didn't bake with them though so I never got to test Ina's theory. Just got icked out by the egg white deluge πŸ˜’
  24. Wolfie gets the Beast Mode trophy for all his humiliations on mom's show. So where is Valerie's husband? Does he still appear on the show? (I haven't seen the show much lately).
  25. Tonight's dinner will be Korean Ground Beef & Vermicelli, along with a salad of sorts. I can't seem to find vermicelli in any of the supermarkets I visit so it will be thin spaghetti.
