  1. Surprisingly, I actually liked Wedding Veil Unveiled a lot. These were likable characters, a fairly believable romance, and a plot that doesn't involve anyone seeing the SO with another person and jumping to ridiculous conclusions! PLUS, they actually did a reasonable amount of research into Burano lace-making and history. That's a lot for Hallmark these days. Paolo (very cute) wasn't your typical smarmy guy looking to hook up with an Americano for a green card. And great scenery, can't beat that. Didn't care for the original The Wedding Veil, so didn't expect much from this one, especially given the level of criticism here, but I liked it enough to recommend and that's rare. I'll watch the next one because I like Alison Sweeney, but I'm not expecting it to be as enjoyable as this one.
  2. The drag queens may be annoying, but I'd rather watch them than some of the previous seasons' wack jobs (and one murderer)! Kudos to all of them. Chiles Rellenos (just cheese, nothing fancy) were one of my favorite dishes growing up in the Southwest. I learned to make most Tex-Mex dishes, but could not (and still haven't) mastered them. So 👍.
  3. I also loved Barbara and Jacob bonding over the garden with matching hats and Greg saving the garden. Janine selling the artwork to pretentious artsy types to buy replacement copies of Peter Rabbit. Janine is gaining self-respect and finally seeing through Sahar was a sweet ending. Show is definitely growing on me.
  4. I liked Sister Boniface. She's a good character. Rewatched the Father Brown ep she was in: S1 E6 "The Bride of Christ" before the new ones dropped. Helped give it some background. Wish they had kept the original Mother Superior (whatever), but the current bitch one is needed for friction. Watched both eps, the second one was funnier with a really bad movie being filmed at the Abbey. I'm in. Rumor has it: That'll be fun.
  5. Haha. He's gotten better over the years. Both Ryan McPartlin and Eva Tamargo (Allie's mom) were on Passions (the soap opera) way back. He was so wooden in his performance we dubbed him "Hank (his character) the Plank." Didn't help he replaced a fan fav who was shorter and more boyish-appearing since they wanted to take the character "in a different direction." Yeah, that worked. Nice to see Eva not in a maid's uniform. That is a positive development for Latinas. On another note, I am not a fan of CCB and dragging her (probably talentless) spawn into a series is not a good look. Nepotism should be frowned upon by HMM.
  6. Sexual harrassment when he was on Silicon Valley. You heard more about T.J. Miller, but Middleditch was right in there, too. Here's one: https://deadline.com/2021/03/alice-wetterlund-responds-sexual-misconduct-allegations-thomas-middleditch-news-1234719765/ The icky stuff is "The Lifestyle," which is not illegal if consentual.
  7. Ditto. I think Stephen got one of those "don't ask questions about XXX and harrassment complaints." So, totally soft-pedaled. Who isn't thrilled about Middleditch becoming a US Citizen? Doesn't seem like he put a whole lot of thought into it. Do we really need him here? And why? And how?
  8. Yep. I got sidetracked and when I heard YS's voice, I thought: KId's voice is changing! This could be a problem going forward.
  9. According to my cable guide, Ghosts is bumped next week by 2 episodes of B Positive on 1/27. Big Brother Celeb Version (ugh) premieres on 2/3 at 9. Sheldon and Ghosts reruns at 8 and 8:30. Who knows what happens during the Olympics. More reruns?
  10. According to my cable guide, B Positive will air 2 episodes next week. E12 at 9 (bumping Ghosts, which I find unforgivable!) and E13 at 9:30. Big Brother Celeb Version (ugh) premieres on 2/3 at 9. No Al or B Positive. Sheldon and Ghosts reruns at 8 and 8:30.
  11. How much do I love Uncle Tunde and Auntie Olu? They're just the best! I also love that Tunde faced down his family to be in a monogamous marriage with Olu. 🥰 Well, I hope "Down to Earth Doug's" relationship with the Bus Driver works out, but I'm not so sure it will. Wait until she finds out the people he was nice to on the bus are his Mom and Sister. Yikes!
  12. Ditto. She seems to be typecast into very similar roles every time. Only so much. Oh, that is great! I'm still laughing at that one. I love this show. I just do. 🥰
  13. Bottom right shelf, center? I don't think that is the right spine for a TB. Where do you see 10th?
  14. Last night he was up to 4 copies of The Thorn Birds! I laughed the first time I saw it; now I'm wondering how many copies will show up tonight. I like the Sea Captain (I know I'm in a minority), but could do without Rhianna-wife. Oh, well. Hopefully, he'll be back in the studio Monday.
  15. I loved Noel on The IT Crowd and I still like him on GBBO. Matt has been good in other scripted shows I've seen him in, but I don't think he's a good fit here.
  16. I wonder if they're trying to get rid of Middleditch, but can't due to contract? He hasn't been convicted of anything, yet. Still, actors have been fired for less scandalous behavior. Sending him off with Harry may be the safest plotline. Plus, Harry can verbally abuse him to his heart's content. Poor Annaleigh! I hope she gets hazardous duty pay for every scene with Drew. It looks like they want to take it to a romance and I think that is nauseating. I like the rest of the cast, but just can't deal with this BS. 😪
  17. And the beat goes on: "The 64th Annual Grammy Awards have been postponed indefinitely amid coronavirus-related concerns and the current surge caused by the Omicron variant, our sister site Variety reports. "The ceremony, once again hosted by The Daily Show‘s Trevor Noah, was scheduled to air live Monday, Jan. 31 on CBS from the Crypto.com Arena (formerly known as the Staples Center) in Los Angeles. A new date has not been announced yet." https://tvline.com/2022/01/05/grammy-awards-postponed-2022-cbs/
  18. That would be nice and informative/educational. None of these are from CBS, but you can go down a rabbit hole starting here: FYI: Asterisks are what Dele cooked for the family. Moi moi is what Abishola wanted him to cook every day. Very labor intensive meal! Too bad Abishola, as usual, went off on him. *Jollof Rice with a really cool video: https://food52.com/recipes/61557-classic-nigerian-jollof-rice Wish I had seen this one before I made mine. Had to circle back around and add a few things! Next time. Dodo is fried plantains: https://food52.com/recipes/1877-dodo-aka-fried-plantain *Eguisi soup: https://www.africanbites.com/egusi-soup/ *Moi moi: https://www.yummymedley.com/moi-moi-steamed-black-eyed-peas-pudding/ Ogbono soup (and a Fufu recipe): https://www.africanbites.com/ogbono-soup-pounded-yam/ This is Olu's specialty that Bob loves. Marcus Samuelsson's PBS show, No Passport Required "Houston" episode is about the Nigerian (+others nearby) population in Houston TX. Plenty of cooking, although you do need their streamer "Passport" (hmm) to watch: https://watch.weta.org/video/houston-f8qe5e/ Recipe for Yam (not a sweet potato) Fufu does not require "Passport" (hee!): https://www.pbs.org/food/recipes/yam-fufu/ (I've been thinking about Jollof Rice since this aired in 2018!) OK, enjoy! Putting this together has gotten way too interesting and I'm heading back down the rabbit hole!
  19. Yes, Cantinflas. Got a Golden Globe for his performance. He was a very, very popular Mexican comedian. Most Americans only knew him from this and Pepe, but he was a super big deal in Mexico. Robin Williams level, maybe even bigger. Grew up on the Border and we watched a ton of Cantinflas movies back in the day. I liked the gargoyle shot, too, but it made me sad due to Notre Dame tragic fire. Also want to like this new version, but the jury is still out. Hoping future eps get better? We'll see.
  20. Aww, Dele can cook. And you know damn well Abishola won't want him to become a chef either. If she doesn't lighten up, she'll probably never see him again. I can't believe no one has smothered her mother in her sleep. Yet. Beyond unbearable and narcissistic! At least Abishola stood up to her about Bob. At least for a minute. Aside: I made Jollof Rice for New Year's. Mine would never hold up against Nigerian standards, but it sure was good.
  21. I just caught two seconds of this (it's about all I can tolerate), but it was worth it to hear Janelle say "Yea, f@#k off!" 'Bout time girly. Looks like Kody is losing his planet of wives and will be left with hatchet-faced, lantern-jawed, won't age well, massive goiter Sobbin' Robyn. Karma's a bitch.
  22. In a similar vein, the terms "master" and "slave" are no longer terms for primary and secondary computer hard drives. I was never comfortable with the older terminology and am very happy it's gone. These are word changes that needed to happen.
