  1. I finally realized why the show isn't appointment TV for me anymore. They sidelined the delightful Tunde and Olu and brought the inutterably toxic Ebun in to suck up their screen time. There's so little sweetness or heart left in the show. It was so good to see the four of them together in one scene without all the negativity. I was hoping there'd be more, but nope, Ebun is staying and being even more toxic than ever. Not fun, not funny.
  2. Right on Maggie. First chance you get, smash him upside the head. WTF is she going to NYC with him anyway? Shit.
  3. Negan so full of it. Shoulda been killed ASAP after bashing Glen and Abraham.
  4. I'm only watching until Leslie's last episode and then I'm gone. This episode (with Kat and Max) was just plain gross and sad. Have been over it for a while, but I love Leslie and miss him so very much.
  5. I was going to hunt down your old post and give you all the kudos for that catch! 🍍I used to know a few folks who were into that (no thanks!) a long, long time ago, but I don't remember any pineapples: upside down or rightside up. I loved the Thorfinn and Bjorn story. His wife was a beauty and Little Bjorn was very cute. Glad he was finally able to get past the "DANES!" No heads lined up outside that house, for sure. Jay's solution was a good one. I still can't figure out why Thorfinn and Sassapis can't go beyond the Woodstone property boundaries. They died long before the plats were even drawn up and probably had plenty of roaming rights for hundreds of years. Oh, well! Another ghost enigma.
  6. Not really about the show, but Google is celebrating Jollof Rice today with a tasty looking animation: I've got a pot going on the stove right now! 😋
  7. I was expecting the twist to be that Farmer Dad was actually using the chemical fertilizer on his giant "organic" cabbage. I really like the show and I do like Hillary Swank a lot, as an actress and a person.
  8. Indeed! I thought I might be disappointed, but I wasn't. Loved that it was Lisa who went dark. Beat the pants off the "live action" Death Note movie, too.
  9. Yeah, but I was worried if he did take the top off the hive, he'd be swarmed. A fun episode and some bonding time with Bob and Louise.
  10. Bugs the hell out of me. You'd think with what these guys get paid, they'd be expected to show up a little more often. They also miss a lot of what's going on in the world while they're off for a week or two. When they return, a lot of the topics have gotten pretty stale and the newer stuff gets short shrift.
  11. I was glad the team that won won. Their display didn't make me want cake, it made me crave a good crab boil! Looked so good and pretty real! Dang. 🦀🥔🌽
  12. Felt like filler to me, too. I also hope things pick up, but we certainly already know who won't get killed off at all.
  13. Clearly Paul knows about as much about s'mores as he does Mexican baking. S'mores defintiely need to be ooey, gooey, and melty! Yup!
  14. Finally someone agrees with me about Ava! That she has the nerve to run she clothing business when she is supposed to be doing whatever principals do just infuriates me. I would be sending letters (anonymously, of course) to the school board to get her removed and if that didn't work, I would go to the local media. The teacher's aide was awful too. How would a real teacher handle being saddled with someone like her? I appreciate that we are getting to see the problems schools have to deal with, but I am not really enjoying the show because of Ava. Oh, I agree with you both about Ava. I get that people find her funny and she has her fans, BUT! I don't know about other places, but we frequently have appalling news about people high up on the public education ladder (and other gov't service orgs) who have been grifting and embezzling for years. This takes the funds away from the children and the teachers and school programs that really need it. Ava is one of these folks and while it's sad to hear about these things happening, at least they've gotten caught. She's also blackmailing the guy who was in charge of hiring her, so that's why she's still there. Bugs the hell out of me!
  15. I liked the winning pirate ship a lot, but am I the only one disappointed that the angler fish's "bulb" didn't light up? That's the most distinctive feature of the angler fish! The cannonballs should have been truffles!!! Guess no time for that, either.
  16. Loved this episode. I thought I was good with my grabbers, but I really need to up my game!
  17. Due to my and others' postings about this episode, I realized that my avatar has been wearing a sombrero for many years. Even though I grew up on the SW border, I'm just as guilty as Noel and Matt of cultural appropriation and have changed my avatar to a more appropriate look. I apologize to all for my thoughtlessness. 😔
  18. At least they tried to pronounce "tacos" properly instead of "take-os" or "tack-os." Paul slipped a bit there a few times, though. I figured he learned all about Mexican pastries/baking from Marcela. 😉 Although, he did say he just got back from Mexico... Conchas. I never met a concha that wasn't drier than the desert. Not a fan. Good idea to put fillings inside. They have special cutters for the craquelin to give it that concha (seashell) swirl. They could have made marranitos (ginger pigs)! Those are the best. Oooh, Washington Post weighs in: https://www.washingtonpost.com/food/2022/10/06/great-british-baking-show-mexico-stereotypes/
  19. Well, at least in the end Kevin really did f**k himself.
  20. Just reading the spoilers makes me cringe. Grew up on Southwest American border and I know they are going to be so far off the mark it will make me curl into a little ball (like a sad armadillo) and cry. Or vomit. Or both.
