I don't think the thing with Rachel and Paul was supposed to be sexy. Last week she said she wanted to have a child. So now, she's merely using him as a breeding stud. A sperm donor, if you will, although why she didn't take that route, I'm not sure. I think she was examining his teeth like you would a horse. Pretty cold-blooded. When Helena was killed, I was relieved. Then, I realized how much I missed her in subsequent episodes. Now, I'm ever so happy she's back. As long as I think of her as semi-feral, I can understand the character. Sestra, Meathead, and Brother-Sestra are a trio for the ages! Also wish she would have offed Rachel.

I don't see how they'll be able to keep this going this season, much less another one.

Funny, I started watching Reign to see how bad it was. Then I sort of hate-watched to keep up with Genevieve's blog. Somewhere along the line, the silly thing grew on me and now, I want to see what's going to happen with the storyline/characters. As long as I view it as sort of historic, but mostly a bad fashion show with a plot, I think my brain is safe. OK, Lola's white wedding dress with the veil? How many centuries before its time? That was really, really off and not that pretty, either. Super matronly. Can't wait to see what GV has to say about that one!

Genevieve Valentine, a costume historian, writes a pretty funny blog about Reign and its lack of historic accuracy. The earlier ones are funniest when it comes to costumes, she seems to have gotten over trying to keep up with the inaccuracies, but it's still a damn funny recap. I'm pretty sure she's the one that pointed out the three different century costumes mentioned earlier.
