Just watched this episode and I gotta say, "do your freakin' homework." Glover Park, a neighborhood in DC, is not a rough area. It is a perfectly lovely, mostly residential, area north of Georgetown, near the University, and an area I feel safe walking in at night. The Vice Pres. of the US's residence is in Glover Park. The National Cathedral is right there, can't miss it. I don't live in GP, but have friends that do and I use the ATM up there all the time. The biggest danger is drunken Univ students or trying to cross Wisconsin Ave without a light. Sheesh. I bet they got plenty of letters for that screw up. And truffle oil? Hmm, sounds like only getting background soundtrack and no dialogue (at least on Comcast in DC) might have been an improvement! I actually watched something else instead of trying to follow on CC. Wondering how may other areas were similarly affected.

OK, I don't really watch Ree's show since I can't stand it. I confess, I liked her blog way back in the early days and ex gave me her 1st cookbook for Xmas or something back in 2010. I did kinda half watch today's ep out of curiosity. Keeps getting worse. Did she actually put the "flavor packet" in the ramen she doctored up with canned shit? Anyway, my big question is this: how the hell is this the 12th season of this crapfest when she only been on the air a little over 4 years? That's really stretching it!

I was looking forward to this more than any other new show and I'm a bit disappointed. The dialog was sooo klunky. Was it the writing or the delivery or both? I'll give it a few more weeks, but I'm not holding my breath.

Now I want to go to Hong Kong simply to ride on their awesome subway!

I hate to say it, but will anyway. Anyone else think a double digit IQ is a prerequisite for the contestants? I would hope they have intelligence in other areas, because bunch this is pretty bad!

All of the above, plus the temperature of the water that rushed in is the same as that which would "cause hypothermia in 10 minutes," yet they were sitting in it like it was a hot tub. Riiight. Still, this episode was more enjoyable than the last two. I also liked the addition of Peri Gilpin. I think she's a real plus for the cast. Ray needs to go, he really doesn't add much.

Picked up for a full 22 episode season! Awesome and well-deserved!

I like the show for the most part. Phil looks a heck of a lot like Owen Wilson and and I think he plays that up somewhat. He creeps me out a little. His "That's the best I've ever eaten!" is overkill. The goofiness takes away from the chefs and the food and areas they're trying to profile, but it's still interesting.

I am totally shocked. I, like most others, thought it was a gonner. I'll watch though, even if I'm not always crazy about the direction it takes.

I'm meh on this one, although I will probably watch (OnDemand) since I'm always glad to see Asian actors get a break. This suffers in comparison with Fresh off the Boat, which is currently my favorite sitcom. Oh, hell no! We're keeping Constance Wu right where she is!

Hate to say it, but Edmond's dress? Had a friend who wore that in 1970. She looked great in it, but it's scarcely new nor innovative!

Agree it wasn't her best look ever, but gave it a pass since it was in keeping with the theme. While Mac may have a little input on her outfits, I'm sure that decision came strictly from Wardrobe. I've come to the same conclusion. Girl is made of win!

Season ain't over yet. Although, that would be a lot to put on Bay since she always gets the short end of the stick. It'd be nice for her not to feel guilty about things for a change.

Not to mention, he'd drop those kind of bucks in a heartbeat on geek paraphernalia (action figures, costumes, gadgets, games, etc.). But too cheap to spring for counseling to keep the woman he claims to love. I found him to be rather shallow when declaring his "love" he only talked about her outer beauty. Not about her inner nature or anything else! Pfft. Doomed.

I think I'd have enjoyed this ep more if I didn't find Sonia (Cabe's orphan) so irritating. I'm not sure if it was the character, the lousy actress, or both, but I hope we don't see her again. I'm sure that won't be the case, given her bond to Cabe. Let's get back to the fluff.

"Blue Jean Committee" was excellent! It seemed so close to real; I could almost believe the band made big back in the day. That is, until you heard their lyrics. Hah! I think it (Pts 1&2) and "Sandy Passage" (Grey Gardens) were the best of the lot. The rest were ok, but didn't have the same impact on me. I know it's renewed for two more seasons, but I really wonder if they can keep it going on a high level that long.

Was coming to post the same thing! Congrats to her/them, but I worry how it will affect Season 2.

Here, here! That was his one major saving point. Pan-Asian fusion is fine and I love it, but not when you're aiming for a specific culture. Maybe the intern loading up the suitcases saw "St. Petersburg" and thought, "Oh, my Granny lives there. She'd love this purple stuff..."

Thank you for the reminder. I read Red Dragon back when it came out over 30-odd years ago and had completely forgotten it was the first procedural! Although now, unfortunately, procedural has been done to death and it doesn't hold up as "fresh & new!" anymore. So the show suffers. Which is a shame. I miss the dark whimsey and amazing production values that are Fuller's trademarks.

I just have to say that was one of the best hours of television I've seen in a long time. I loved the "perfectly strange good-bye" with Amanatha and Teddy, the road trip and Daniel's interactions with Janet, and, especially, the Tawney/Daniel dream. I've watched it twice and now must go and re-watch the full series. If this was the series finale, it would have worked just fine, but I'm glad we have another season to look forward to.

Same here. With Mads sidelined into a bit part and without free range Hannibal in his natty suits and without the wonderful sets and Janice Poon's amazing food styling, the show seems to have lost its magic. We're on overly familiar ground (two movies later) and if it went on like this another season, I might just slip away myself. Not the fault of Bryan Fuller or the cast, but of the books themselves. Where could we go to get back the interesting first two seasons? This ep just felt like a typical procedural. Let's hope Hanni escapes within the next two. ETA: As for the darkness, I made a custom setting on my TV specifically for Hannibal. Works for other "dark" shows, too. This whole "working dark" thing all started with Angel ages ago. That was the first show I remember having to lighten up settings-wise and it caught on from there.
