  1. Had this been cast or set up more high-mindedly I might have continued to watch. As it stands, I agree with just about everything negative already posted. The only real reason left to watch (which I won't be doing) is "the fascination of the abomination." I'm out!
  2. I can't even call watching this (or The Following) "hate watch." I call it "stupid watching." I stupidly watch to see just how stupid it's going to get! I am rarely disappointed, because it manages to get more "under the dumb" every time.
  3. I'm thinking of this as "Mad Men Call the Midwife." And not half as interesting as either of those two. Unfortunately, it's no Masterpiece and there's no Mystery. Well, unless you count "What happened in Cyprus?" Frankly, who cares? I knew that creepy Inspector would string the wife along so he could continue to get his jollies, more or less that is. Ugh. I suppose I'll watch the final episode for closure, but this has to be the worst "Masterpiece" ever.
  4. I agree. I also thought, "Too much gravitas. The Doctor seems to have lost his sense of humor." For me, that's an enormous loss for the character. He can be old -- I'm old, not a problem -- but has to bring that bit of wimsey into the mix. Matt had it in spades, 9 had it, Tennant found it. Hope Capaldi finds his... I also would have liked the soldier as companion. Or Danny Pink. I just can't warm to Clara.
  5. They had originally uploaded Ep7 twice early in the a.m., then then first one disappeared. Still no sign of early Ep8. Maybe they realized it wasn't helping ratings if folks already watched it? Maybe it's just a mistake and someone knowledgeable is on vacation? Who knows? I guess we'll find out come Wednesday if they will continue to post the next ep early!
  6. I had mixed feelings about the Pilot, but Comcast has the 2nd ep up On Demand (it's labeled "Intruders PRE", go figure). Which covers the girl, John Simm, and a few more things. The Pilot had to cover a lot of territory and wound up a big, hard to track mishmash. The 2nd Ep smooths things out a little more. After I watched that, I went back and re-watched the Pilot, which I wasn't going to do, and things made more sense. Even if you don't have On Demand, give the 2nd ep a chance next week before you chuck it! Love John Simm and James Frain and now looking forward to the rest of the series.
  7. I like both Karen Gillian and John Cho. This was a lot better than I thought it would be, better than some other sitcoms out there, so I'm in unless it really goes downhill.
  8. One of these days Daphne will actually suffer real consequences for her actions. That probably won't happen until long after the show is over, cos it sure ain't happening now. So over it.
  9. If you're talking about the 2 Egyptian characters, I'm with you. Damian's makeup televised in HD really well -- it looked like gold leaf that had the top layers burnished off the edges. His model really brought the regal attitude and it worked. I thought it was really good, definitely not a bottom nor merely safe. The Egyptian woman's makeup looked patchy, chalky, and underwhelming. It may have looked different in person, but it did not televise well at all.
  10. Comcast or Xfinity or whatever they want to call themselves. FX has been putting up the next ep since the beginning of the season. And yes, it is truly bizarre. Not sure how that helps ratings, but they seem to be doing ok.
  11. It can be a bit confusing, but here's what's going on: Episode 4 should be up later today, as usual for On Demand. FX has been posting the next episode after the current episode airs. So, you can watch ep 5 all week until it's time for it to air next week. Then it will disappear until the next day, but you'll be able to watch ep 6 after 5 airs. Not sure why they're doing this, but they are. It's funny, because FX used to only post their current eps 8 days after they aired (American Horror Story was originally guilty of this). Not the brightest move -- you couldn't watch the next ep live since you couldn't watch the current ep until the day after. It's not like we weren't paying for cable and just watching it online for free! None of it really makes any sense to me, but what the heck, I prefer this to that!
  12. Me, too. He reminded me a bit of Milton in Office Space. Poor dumb Kyle. Hey, walk onto this plastic... Darwin Award nominee!!
  13. I'm just waiting for Dad to put the moves on Carter. Ew, I know, but here's this pretty young thing he hasn't seen in 13 or so years and, well, he really doesn't know her as a daughter. Things are strained between him and the mom, and they seem to be bonding, so I dunno. He's pretty smarmy. Maybe I've seen too many L&O:SVUs or something. We'll see. Carter has a major case of Stockholm Syndrome. It will be interesting to see what action Lori takes next week. I still want to know her motivation behind kidnapping Carter in the first place. I still don't like many of the main characters, including Carter. I feel badly for the mom since she got that way after her baby was taken, but she's pretty unlikeable. The twin, the younger brother, and Max are pretty much it for me. I'm not sure how long I'll continue watching, but I kinda want to see where they take this tale.
  14. S2E2 is up on Comcast OnDemand. Not sure if it's a mistake or not. No spoilers, but E2 is definitely much easier to follow.
  15. I love this show! I've watched each episode several times and they still make me laugh.I've turned a few friends on to it, too, and they crack up just as much as I do. Poppy's comedic timing is just brilliant, I think she's a lot stronger than Georgie. I'm sad we're only getting 4 episodes with the remaining 3 to be shown at a TBD date. I hope that changes and we get all 7 in a row. Thanks for posting about the Texas episode, Knots Landing/Chris. It's a shame we didn't get to see the bits from the standard room, maybe it'll be on the DVD?
  16. I love Poppy, or rather, Amy. I think her deadpan delivery is bang on and this show wouldn't be as funny with anyone else. She cracks me up like crazy!
  17. Good interview, John. Very informative. If we had to have an ending, that was a damn good one! I also hope another network picks it up, it's too good to just march off into the sunset. Fingers crossed.
  18. I pretty much liked the ending, quite clever, that. Don't want to be too spoiler-y since so few in my area have yet to see it. Although, if you're on Comcast in the DC area, even though it hasn't aired, WETA put it up On Demand. Guess they got enough complaints! Go to TV Shows> By Network> PBS - WETA> Specials> and both episodes are up in SD and HD. Enjoy!
  19. The end. Finally. I was hoping when Ian started singing Jane would sing with him. What a freakin' waste of potential all the way down the line.
  20. I love that one, too. It's for AT&T, I believe. Also like the new one where they're wiring an arena ceiling. Mr. Flirty has a name, now, it's Charlie. Other guy tosses a ball into the basket down below. Charlie doesn't get sports, either! He's so goofy, he's "totes adorbs" (to quote James Earl Jones). I hope we get more wiring adventures with these two!
  21. I guess this is where I should post this. A Funny or Die video of Uzo Aduba auditioning for all the other characters except Crazy Eyes. It's pretty darn hysterical!
  22. Well, Bungalow Summer, you can just come over here and sit next to me! I hate the breath out of that loser, too. And I ask myself, why am I watching this, even On Demand? Well, I wanted to see how Divya's (who I do like) baby birth turned out. That was pretty well handled and I loved that she had the puja ceremony. That was fun. Then, to see how they brought Hank back, because they had to. I do love Jeremiah, but don't think they have a show without Hank. I also think that Emma is Eddie's daughter. Don't know if I care, but hopefully, she's more like Hank than Evan. We'll see, although I'm not certain I'll be sticking around this season.
  23. Lord yes! If that scene alone doesn't get Suzanne/Crazy Eyes an Emmy nod, I don't know what could. I wasn't loving her this season until she was betrayed, but Aduba definitely puts in a solid performance. Speaking of betrayal, I could not believe Vee's heinous behavior. Then to find out she was also responsible for JT's murder. Rosa running her down (for rudeness! Shades of Hannibal.) was just the best ever. I laughed so hard at that it was embarrassing! Old Rosa was a real gem. The songs themselves were priceless. I share no love for nuns (there are some good ones, but the evil ones really outweigh them) The thing that most bugged me about Daya/John and Pornstash is the lack of a paternity test! They can be done before the baby is born. Not the best choice, but if someone is going down for it... Pornstash is going to be demanding visitation rights, I'm sure. I can't see it playing out well, but John and Daya are both very sweet and dumb and I still hope for the best for them in the end.
  24. Well, since I semi-binge-watched over the past two days, I gotta say the ending was perfect, especially for Rosa! I loved it! I think I enjoyed the last half of S2 more than the first half of S2 and S1 in total. Love it when the bad guys don't win, but don't want to spoil too much until others catch up and start posting.
  25. I figure it's either someone who got shivved or, even worse, an executed murderer that came back. Of course he'll be innocent, no? And Jane will save him. Sigh. Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse! I am so glad to see Fred back, especially after what happened to him on Mad Men. He was my favorite guardian angel. I wonder if he'll win Stacey back?
