  1. So Mike might be sarcastic here but if Dan manages to bring back MPG & KB and Pitch back to me, I'd mean this. And I would pay for any streaming service that would carry it.
  2. Ciara is in trouble....again? This is not the way to build an interesting ingenue.
  3. Oooh. His episode of Cold Case is one of my favorite/most memorable episodes. It just reaired on Start TV yesterday and I thought the actor playing Jimmy was good at looked familiar but I couldn't place him. Now it makes sense. All I remember hearing about him is rumors about how he got jobs because if his relationship with JLH. I'm sure it put him on the radar of some producers but at least he's decent and he certainly acquitted himself well as Doug. But at least he's dead so we don't have the spectre of him hanging over us.
  4. I guess I'm going to go against the grain in saying that I don't think anyone is being out-of-bounds selfish in the Jane/MichaelJason/Rafael story. I don't think it's wrong for Jane and Rafael to have conflicted feelings about what this does to their settled life. They're still, perhaps clumsily, looking for a resolution whether it's Jane going through Michael's life, quite extensively, with Jason. Or if it's Rafael going to Rose to find out why she did this. BTW, I wouldn't be surprised if the reason we got today were the truth. There is definitely more to the story with the number but Michael's memory might have nothing to do with it. Having a POV and desires that are 100% team me is normal. I even forgive Jason for being somewhat deceptive. He may have been the victim but he was actually fine until, ironically, he was brought back. After the tour of his life, he felt a spark with someone in it and wants to explore it. Alba and Jorge were sweet in the episode.
  5. I would have been happy with Jimmy getting in the car with Edgar. But I was also happy at the fake out. I did like the montage where it looked like most of the sex-looking acts actually involved comforting the baby.
  6. Ha. Big name cameos would be lost on me but I did think everyone was pretty excellent. Riiight. I forgot about that scene.
  7. You are not alone. I haven't decided if I'm watching yet or not but I lost a lot of interest in the show during an event in the third episode, I think. By the end, the premise was wearing thin.
  8. Lena's dad was trying to insinuate Lena pushing for Martin and Lisa to get along was like shoving lisa into Martin's arms. Lisa sang a song about not loving Martin during the impromptu talent show. The baby went to the hospital. The male friend wondered to his wife why their friends couldn't make cute babies (a callback to his opinion about Annie). Martin said goodbye to Lisa at her car and I think Lena and her dad shared a look. Martin came up to Lena and said they'd been through a lot. She agreed. Then they said something about making it through/it being okay. They kissed. But the multiple exchanges between Lena and her father about Martin ending up with Lisa were certainly meant to cast doubt and/or add suspense to whether or not her father's predictions were going to come true. So it was a good ending but with a potential sense of foreboding. And frankly, I ain't down with that. I'd much rather the "splitting up together " allude to Martin's relationship with lisa. Have them navigate the weird world of incorporating Lisa into their lives instead of some weird neverending and unbelievable triangle.
  9. So pictures have been released and they're kind of....spoilery maybe? In one she's pregnant. I guess that could be a fantasy. In another she's wearing a wedding dress. She has serious pictures with both Greg and Nathaniel and it looks like Josh has set up a romantic event.
  10. Not only was he fine early on but we, as a show, have had a serious "is Chimney going to die?" story. No point in going down that road again too much.
  11. I think the issue with Dumbo is the age. It has been a long time since Dumbo was a part of the pop culture universe. Beauty And The Beast, Aladdin and The Lion King are still part of pop culture with the cartoon sequels and stage plays. Dumbo was popular with people who are grandparents or even great-grandparents whereas The Lion King, Aladdin and Beauty And The Beast are more likely to have a nostalgic hold on people who have kids at the right age to take to the theater to see this.
  12. I too loved the scene with Claire and Eve. See, who, you can do real emotion and connection when called upon so there's no excuse that Jack and Eve are so shallow together. I also liked that I thought JJ, via recording, sounded similar to Jack. There you are, Melinda.
  13. I'm of two minds about this episode. It was action packed and kept moving. I did like that about the episode. But it's also a story I've seen before on TV or in Lifetime movies. I missed the show's usual wackiness and this was the second singular-story-focused episode in a row. But better than it had a right to be.
  14. I love rhubarb so last week was terrific for me---except for the strawberry rhubarb combo. Rhubarb is meant to be tart and adding strawberries makes things too sweet.
  15. Here's a nice interview with Scott Bakula about the series, and some of the ways it treated social issues in the series. I was surprised to learn how Dean Stockwell encouraged showcasing some of the social issues.
  16. Love to the Rescue is the kind of movie I watched hundreds of Brush With Loves for. Because yeesh, that was kind of weirdly not great. I did think Bateman was pretty to look at, even through fast forward. What I can't quite get is that this movie seemed clearly to have a smaller budget than some other movies this year. And even though the movie probably wouldn't have worked anyway, it seems like it would have been slightly more enjoyable with more polish.
  17. While that would make sense as long as all the special food needs of the students could be met. But I loved the joke because who hasn't been a part of a pot luck where there's a signup sheet and pressure to bring something different? It's hard to think of a "different" dish when you're the thirtieth person to sign up. Or think of how many parties/potlucks have a barely touched veggie and dip platter but nevertheless, we don't ever want to give up the pretense that someone might want something healthy so it still gets brought. I think that could be true. I also think she might be afraid of deciding. The last time she chose to be in a relationship, with Greg, she ended up riding that new relationship energy instead of focusing on her mental health. That's where I am. Even though I can logically come up with reasons why she shouldn't be with Greg (and any of the guys), the truth is, if Santino were here, I wouldn't care. Their scenes this season would have made me very happy. And I still have a nostalgic affection for the character even though the new actor just doesn't quite fill the void. They did mention Greg when he butt dialed her. And then she....slept with his dad.
  18. My favorite thing about the episode was when Carol reminded us of the series of episodes when Sandra pretended to be dating Jeff. I want to rewatch season 2 because this show was on fire.
  19. Didn't they even mention that in this episode when Michael/Jason was asking about his past with Petra? Or Jane said something about working together to cover up a crime and the only thing I could think of was that he hid her involvement with a murdered man. I was kind of shocked because I felt that in the second season they kind of forgot why Jane and Michael split and hadn't mentioned it since that I can remember. Sure, Jane had a crush on Rafael but she wasn't going to break up with Michael until she learned he was lying to her about the future potential mother of her child.
  20. Unless Acorn TV is planning to surprise us, which I'm not sure why they would since they clearly see it as a big enough draw to secure first-run US rights, I don't think it's going to debut on Monday.
  21. I don't know much about the different eras of Bollywood music but I think this sounded more old school to me. (Not that they break out in song if anyone reading this thinks it's a musical. It's not.)
  22. Tootsie is starting previews today on Broadway. I went to see it when it was in Chicago and it was hilarious so I hope people who see it on Broadway like it. I thought Crazy Ex-Girlfriend showcased most of Santino's singing range but Dorothy showed off new range. The only downside is that I wish Santino Fontana had been available for the final season of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.
  23. Thank you. I couldn't remember the specifics of their breakup but I seemed to recall it was Lisa's choice. And I wish they'd point out that the money isn't for Lisa. It's meant for his kid.
  24. So second cousins once removed? Figured they'd be related considering how everyone is related to everyone here. But eh, if they have chemistry, that's far enough apart for me. Hell, I even shipped Jon and Tammy on GL so almost third cousins won't faze me.
  25. There is no thread yet but I can start one. I'll respond there.
