  1. Bindi's already said, either in the pre-dance "package" last night or elsewhere, she's dedicating her entire DWTS experience to her Dad. Which is cool. But I'm still betting her "Most Memorable Year" dance--assuming she gets that far, & right now I don't see that she won't--will probably touch on her father's death, or something involving him, too. Mostly because it's the first thing that jumped into my head when I thought about her & that week. I mean, it's probably what she's remembered for by most of the public--her father's untimely death when she was 8, & all the poise she really showed when giving her eulogy for him at his public memorial service at the zoo the family owns near Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
  2. Referring to the bolded. If you mean Miss Georgia/the new Miss America, she was on Live! With Kelly and Michael today. She said she began singing when she was 3 & started "classical training" at 14. Of course being trained doesn't necessarily mean you can do it well. But A) All opera sounds the same to me, & it's not the kind of thing I appreciate so I can't really tell the great from the bad (but if someone is said to be great at it in the media, I usually assume it's accurate) & B) I think I actually missed her performance--I kept dozing on & off during the pageant (I've been ill for awhile & tend to sleep a lot/at odd times now)--so I can't really give a valid comment/critique on her performance/ability. But even a bad opera singer is a better talent choice than playing the cup stacking game with Red Solo Cups to Pharell Williams' song Happy, though that *did* work for Kira Kazantsev last year (& I actually liked her, pretty much, otherwise).
  3. When Heidi & Zac both stepped on the rusty nail, the way I understood the media reports (I linked 1 in the Media thread) was that they went to an actual ER. There was even a pic published of 1 or both in either an ambulance/EMS type truck or a hospital/ER type setting (it looked like there was some kind of medical equipment behind whomever was in the pic... which I think was at least Heidi).
  4. There's also, at least normally, a Mothership "bingeathon" on the WE channel on Saturdays, from 5PM-1AM Eastern Time (now followed by some CI eps), plus the TNT Mothership marathon, which should be from 6AM-about Noon (or later) Eastern Time. So there should be a choice of marathons Saturday.
  5. No, the married couple didn't flip off the camera. They were trying to show their wedding rings, as "proof" to accompany their "We're married!" comment. At least that's the way I took it.
  6. Around the time he was on either the "regular" or "all-star" version of The Celebrity Apprentice, it was apparently discovered he also has/had a fairly bad hearing loss, which I think was mentioned in the press. Marlee Matlin--the hearing-impaired Oscar-winning actress--was 1 of his teammates on whichever CA version was involved & he later thanked her on Twitter for helping him get assistance with his hearing problem (I follow her & she ReTweeted the Tweet so her followers could see it). So hearing issues may also be part of his problems (along with the motorcycle accident/resulting brain damage & substance abuse issues I remember him having after his Oscar-nominated role in The Buddy Holly Story which was back in the late 1970's (I think it was released in 1978 or 1979). I had to watch most of the dances on YouTube (I've had a long-term illness for about a year & tend to need afternoon naps now if I wanna watch a lotta Primetime TV, & my family kept me up yesterday so I fell asleep after Victor & Karina danced). Something interesting I noticed is, Gary & Anna's clip, as posted by the show, is the *only* 1 which includes the "1st meeting"/rehearsal bits with the couple, the performance from last night, the Skybox interview with Erin & the announcement of the scores after. All the other clips consist of the "1st meeting/rehearsal" package & the performance. Then they cut off where Tom starts announcing the couple after the dance (shrugs).
  7. It was Brooke Burke-Charvet (who used to Co-Host Dancing with the Stars); Brooke Burns is a different actress/model.
  8. Yes, Mrs. L. was still alive in 17 People. That was Ep 218. She wasn't killed off until Ep 221, 18th and Potomac (the next-to-last ep of S2), & her funeral was in the S2 Finale, Two Cathedrals.
  9. REO Speedwagon Guitarist Gary Richrath Dead at Age 65. http://www.ew.com/article/2015/09/14/reo-speedwagon-gary-richrath-guitarist-dies?hootPostID=47d3a3cbe6f80212a256d30429cdbd41
  10. The new Host of The Celebrity Apprentice is... Former California Governor, Former Kennedy Family In-Law, & Actor Arnold Schwarzenegger (per multiple sources, including that linked below). http://www.ew.com/article/2015/09/14/arnold-schwarzenegger-replace-donald-trump-celebrity-apprentice-host?hootPostID=ff30bc8694205067e23303c504b3f55e
  11. Todd didn't "get" their daughter; they have joint custody. It just sounds like he "got" their daughter because Giada has to pay him $9,000 a month in child support (which is explained either upthread or maybe in the Food Network Star forum, but it has to do with financially equalizing both homes Jade will be living in... A "keeping her in a standard of living to which she's become accustomed" thing, because Todd apparently makes around $15 million a year, while Giada makes around $20 million a year) & there's apparently an assumption being made that Jade will be living with Todd more because of the child support award (& his "lesser" finances), & perhaps because Giada may have to travel more in connection with her work than Todd may have to.

  15. Yep, the Emmys "do" ties. I'm pretty sure all the major awards shows (& even the minor ones) do them too.
  16. Bradley is now a 2-time Emmy winner! He won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series at Saturday night's Creative Arts Emmy Awards presentation in LA, for his recurring role as transgendered woman Marcy, a friend/acquaintance of the lead character, transgendered woman Maura, in the Amazon Prime Video series Transparent. Here's a link to the complete winners' list; I think Brad's category is at/near the end. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/creative-arts-emmys-2015-winners-822621 If anyone's interested, the Creative Arts Emmys will air on FXX (not FX) network this coming Saturday, September 19th, at 8:00 & 10:30PM ET & PT. Also, the winners in the Outstanding Guest Actor/Actress in a Drama & Comedy categories usually go on to present awards during the main Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony; so we can now probably expect to see Bradley as a presenter this year. The Primetime Emmy Awards will air next Sunday, September 20th, on Fox at 8PM Eastern/5PM Pacific Time.
  17. Jane won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Reality/Reality-Competition Show Host at Saturday night's Creative Arts Emmy Awards presentation in LA. Here's a link to the complete winners' list; I think Jane's category is at/near the end. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/creative-arts-emmys-2015-winners-822621 If anyone's interested, the Creative Arts Emmys will air on FXX network this coming Saturday, September 19th, at 8:00 & 10:30PM ET & PT.
  18. Sometimes it's not the length of the scene/material that's important. It's what the actor does with it. And so The Americans finally gets its first Emmy win. By the way, the Creative Arts Emmys for this season (where Margo won tonight) will air on the FXX network (NOT FX, where The Americans airs) next Saturday, September 19th, at 8:00 & 10:30PM ET & PT.
  19. Gore's (only) son, then age 6, was severely injured in a hit & run leaving Memorial Stadium in Baltimore (after an Orioles game) in approximately 1989 (around 3 years before his father received/accepted the Democratic nomination for Vice-President). He spent at least a month in the hospital, but apparently fully recovered. Now in his early 30's, he went on to marry in June of last year (2014). As for Toby Keith, he also has a chain of restaurants called Toby Keith's I Love This Bar & Grill (I Love This Bar is 1 of his hits/better-known songs); there's 1 in Harrah's Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, among a few other cities. The food's pretty good--friends & I've eaten there a few times.
  20. If you're in the UK/other parts of Europe in which UK-released & formatted (Region 2) DVDs are playable, according to this Tweet H50 S5 DVDs will be available in the UK on Monday (September 14th): https://twitter.com/raymondeaton2/status/642829074516299776
  21. If you missed it (I can't tell by your post wording), here's an explanation as to why Scott Caan/Danny is now Missing In Action from some episodes each season. I posted the link in the Media thread about a month ago. The explanation's at the beginning of the linked article. Basically Scott's apparently chosen/been allowed by CBS/the showrunners to commute back & forth from LA the last few seasons (I think since about S3, maybe only since S4), instead of being based in Honolulu during shooting like Alex, Daniel (both of whom now live there full-time with their wives & children) & Grace, since he prefers LA to Hawaii & has always been open about that. He's also been allowed to do (he says) 5 eps less, per season, than Alex (specifically) so he can spend more time with his family (which is also based in LA), which is apparently especially important (as it should be, in my opinion) now that he & his girlfriend are the parents of a 14-month-old daughter. Not for nothing but he's also close to his Dad, legendary actor James Caan, who's in his early 70's & also lives in LA (his mother died of Cancer at the beginning of S3). http://communityvoices.post-gazette.com/arts-entertainment-living/tuned-in/item/39426-tv-q-a-hawaii-five-0-pennsylvania-ems-tests-and-weather-on-local-news I don't really hate they made Jorge & Masi regulars (& they're really only regulars in name/probably perks & pay only--neither appears in every episode each season, which real "regulars" in a TV season usually do... unless you're Scott). I like their characters' "quirkiness". Plus Masi plays the Medical Examiner, so his character has a legitimate function in the show since they deal with a lot of dead bodies. And both actors' (& characters') presence helps take some of the workload off of Alex, Scott (even with the extra 5 eps he has off per season), Grace & Daniel, who said in the earlier seasons that the workload, even with the 4 of them to share it, was pretty heavy.

  25. Do not ask me how, but Taylor freaking Swift is now an Emmy-winner. And she's now halfway to an "EGOT" (the acronym for the 4 major entertainment industry awards--the ones which, if all 4 are won by an entertainer, would constitute the entertainment industry awards' "Grand Slam" & be a big deal). An "EGOT" would mean the entertainer has won an Emmy, a Grammy (both of which TS now has at least 1 of), an Oscar (Academy Award), & a Tony Award. Only a relatively small handful of entertainers (& I think I've also heard the writers of the song from Disney's Frozen, though not necessarily just with that song) have achieved this feat. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/taylor-swift-wins-emmy-interactive-821735
