S21: Gary Busey: Crazy Guy On A Horse
BW Manilowe replied to radishcake's topic in Dancing With The Stars
People magazine posted a video of Gary & Anna rehearsing the Cha-Cha-Cha. Ignore the fact, in the accompanying article, they say his last name's "Busy" in 1 place (forgetting the E) & Anna's last name is "Trebunskay", without the last A, until the 3rd time they mention her. They changed their website awhile back & proofreading for errors before posting articles is apparently no longer a priority, sad to say. http://www.people.com/article/dancing-stars-season-21-gary-busey-video -
Just keep watching. You will find out eventually if you're right or not; I can promise you that since I've seen the entire series a bazillion times, between watching it on TV (NBC during first-run & the old WB Network & Bravo once it went into syndication or was cancelled outright by NBC) & the DVDs. By the way, Elisabeth Moss's character name is actually spelled Zoey, with a Y at the end. Zoey Bartlet.

Say What?: Commercials That Made Us Scratch Our Heads
BW Manilowe replied to Lola16's topic in Commercials
None of their commercials, except for 1 with Genie Francis (Laura on General Hospital) as celebrity spokeswoman, really use anyone's last name--including Marie Osmond's (that I've seen, anyway). But, she's also been a Guest Co-Host on CBS' The Talk in the last year or so & the last few times she's been on, in the opening credits, they've just referred to her as "Marie" too (shrugs). -

It looks like we might possibly, finally, be getting other forms of show merchandise besides the soundtrack CD released in S2, the individual season DVDs, & the ep & extras downloads on iTunes & Amazon Instant Video. http://www.licensing.biz/news/read/cbs-to-represent-hawaii-five-0-merchandising-rights/042665

S21: Paula Deen: Controversial Butter Fanatic
BW Manilowe replied to radishcake's topic in Dancing With The Stars
Louis Tweeted a pic of himself, Paula, & her husband, Michael Groover, during rehearsal in NYC yesterday. https://mobile.twitter.com/LouisVanAmstel/status/641384868895703040 And Paula posted an introduction to Louis for the readers of her website. Honestly, for some reason, I'm not too fond of the shirt Louis is wearing in the 1st & 3rd pics. There's just something about it (shrugs). http://www.pauladeen.com/blog/meet-louis-dwts/ -
People magazine has posted/Tweeted a gallery of the official cast/couple photos. The odd thing about the gallery is, all the couples are touching somehow/in reasonable dance poses in their pics, *except* Andy Grammer & his partner (Lindsay? I'm blanking on her name right now). Their pics are separate pics put next to each other on the page (shrugs). Anyway... Here's the link: http://www.people.com/people/gallery/0,,20950832_30383684,00.html For some reason, for me it always opens on the pic of Chaka Khan & Keo Motsepe, which is the 6th in the gallery, though there's no reference in the original Tweet to indicate it's going to/supposed to do that. If it does that for you, just use the white < arrow, that should be visible in about the middle of the page on the left side, to go all the way back to the 1st pic (then use the white > arrow to go through the rest of the pics).

Danny "Danno" Williams -- Still not Hawaiian
BW Manilowe replied to jhlipton's topic in Hawaii Five-0 (2010)
Just in case anyone's interested, the UK newspaper The Daily Mail posted an article yesterday (September 7th) with numerous (at least 3) pics of Scott & his partner Kacy walking around NYC in the last day or so with their almost 14-month-old daughter, Josie James. Kacy's pushing Josie in a stroller & Scott's standing next to her, sort of behind & a bit to the side of the stroller. By the way, a day or 2 prior to this NYC sighting, Scott took a pic with a fan who seems to work at a South Carolina aquarium at least Scott seems to have visited. Anyway... You can't see Josie that well in the 1st pic, but if the page loads right (& sometimes it doesn't on mobile devices like iPhones) & you keep scrolling down, there should be at least 2 more pics with the article where you can see Josie fairly clearly. She's kinda cute, I think. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-3224516/Scott-Caan-takes-stroll-New-York-girlfriend-Kacy-Byxbee-daughter-Josie.html -
Good Morning America - General Discussion
BW Manilowe replied to David T. Cole's topic in Good Morning America
I was just going to point out the same thing. It feels like she's been off all freaking summer except for a random day or two here & there, or right after the ESPYs, which she presented at/covered for GMA, or when she was back right before her recent special on the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina hitting the Gulf aired. I know, technically, she's probably a more "senior" host to Stephanopolous, since she was there before him, but by this point you'd think their contracts would be more equal in stuff like vacation/personal time off, & it feels like--in comparison to Robin--he's almost never off. I get she'd be off today--Labor Day is a National/Federal Holiday, & most national or local news show anchors will take today or tomorrow off for it--but she gets the rest of the summer?? Stephanopolous doesn't even get that much time off, unless he's saving most of his now for when the political stuff gets going in a bigger way than just certain candidates practically living in Iowa right now & the early debates. And he does a 2nd weekly show Robin doesn't have on her plate on a regular basis; not to mention he's ABC's main "Breaking News" anchor & pretty regularly fills in when David Muir's off of World News Tonight. He might be off GMA tomorrow, for his Labor Day break, though. I also know Robin has her own production company now (they mentioned it on GMA awhile back, in connection with something else big involving her, as I remember), but I didn't think there was that much in their "pipeline" she might have to personally oversee, or whatever. Thankfully, I haven't actually seen or heard anything in the media indicating her health has taken a negative turn--but I also get she may not be as eager to announce that as before. Nor have I seen anything on her Twitter that says anything other than she's on vacation. I also haven't heard of anything, recently, involving Robin's partner, Amber, she might've taken/asked for time off to help her deal with. Nor have I heard anything like they got married & are on their honeymoon. I know they were on vacation together when Robin's ESPN colleague, Stuart Scott, lost his cancer battle--I remember Robin talking about them being in line to board a plane when 1 or both of them started getting texts about his death. I think Robin's mentioned in passing they'd been some other places together this summer, when she's actually been on GMA, but that's it. Maybe she'll be back tomorrow. -
S06.E03: Spicy Showdown in Santa Fe
BW Manilowe replied to cooksdelight's topic in The Great Food Truck Race [V]
I also seem to remember that truck, or another truck in the same season, getting into a fender bender with another car... Or they might've hit a sign of some kind. I do remember 1 season had 1 team fined twice--similarly to this season's/this episode's fines--for accidents with their truck, or 2 trucks each fined for accidents involving their trucks. I'm think I remember the light post accident was somewhere in the east coast that has "colonial" ties/significance. For some reason, I wanna say a city like Charleston, SC, or somewhere in Virginia. -

Two of the "team" names for the couples have been mentioned in the media. Bindi & Derek are "Team Crikey"; Paula & Louis are "Team Buttercup".

Commercials That Annoy, Irritate or Outright Enrage
BW Manilowe replied to Maverick's topic in Commercials
Well, they both have connections to the current Hawaii Five-0, so you weren't terribly off-base. Kelly Hu played a recurring character in H50 S1, Laura Hills. She was the Public Safety Liaison for then-Governor Pat Jameson (Jean Smart)--she also personally gave Five-0 their cases in certain eps where the Governor wasn't around to do it or where they weren't called in by phone. Laura also attempted to help Five-0 leader Steve McGarrett (Alex O'Loughlin) solve a mystery left for him, involving miscellaneous items in a battered old toolbox, by McGarrett's father who was murdered in the Teaser to the Pilot. If you don't watch the show, Laura & Governor Jameson were killed off by Wo Fat in the S1 Finale & McGarrett was framed for both murders. Grace Park, on the other hand, has played Five-0 team member Officer Kono Kalakaua--cousin to her fellow Five-0 team member, Chin Ho Kelly--since the Pilot & still plays her as of the upcoming start of S6. But Kono might have a new last name this season. In the S5 Finale, she married her longtime boyfriend, Adam Noshimuri, former heir apparent to a Japanese Yakuza (Japanese equivalent of The Mob) Boss. -
Giada de Laurentiis: It's "Rrrrrrrricohta" You Barbarian!
BW Manilowe replied to Rhondinella's topic in Food Network Star
And she's really paying up, apparently. Entertainment Tonight reported, besides the stuff I mentioned in my previous post, her ex is *also* getting the furnishings & artwork in the house he got; 2 cars; & their Country Club membership. I'm trying to figure out what *she* got, besides Joint Custody of their daughter, the 50% of her past & future book royalties that was left after he got his half, & whatever she's getting from the bank accounts they're splitting up. I know she won't actually be hurting for money, but it sounds almost like he's getting way more than she is & that *almost* makes me feel badly for her, though she was arguably the bigger breadwinner of the 2 of them. -
The 3rd season, which aired starting either late last year or earlier this year (it was on over the winter) was at least as good as the 1st 2 seasons. It's coming back for a 4th season, but as far as I know they haven't started filming for it yet, or scheduled the premiere date. The show airs on the FX Network in the US. The premise is, Matthew Rhys & Keri Russell are Russian Spies living as everyday Americans in 1980's America--specifically in Falls Church, VA, near Washington, DC. They have a son & daughter who are unaware of their parents' real occupations (their cover job is as owners of a travel agency), or that they aren't really Americans; but the big thing is their across the street (I think it is) neighbor is an FBI agent who now works with the agency task force whose job it is to find these embedded Russian Spies posing as average Americans. At least the 1st 2 seasons are out on DVD (& I think Blu-Ray). You can also download at least S1 & 2, if not also S3, from iTunes (US) & Amazon.com Instant Video. I'm not sure if it's on Netflix or other streaming services like that.

Tamar is married; her husband's name's Vince. I think he's also in music, somehow, & they have at least 1 child. She either has, or had, a reality show with her husband--along with the show with her sisters & her Co-Hosting gig on The Real.

S21: Bindi Irwin: Cheerful Aussie Ambassador
BW Manilowe replied to radishcake's topic in Dancing With The Stars
Responding to the bolded. According to Bindi's Wikipedia page, she does have prior performing experience (besides presenting/talking about various animals on TV), but it appears to all be prior to 2010. She recorded a kid's fitness DVD, in which she sang & danced with a group called Bindi Kidfitness. She also recorded a hip-hop album, called Trouble in the Jungle, with a backup group called The Crocmen; they later performed in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, riding on a float with her mother, Terri. She also has performed, with a new backup group The Jungle Girls, at Australia Zoo which her family owns near Brisbane (I think), Australia. -
You know, don't you, that Jed put his jackets on that way because Martin Sheen had a real life problem with 1 of his arms from birth & he had to put his jackets on that way because of it. It wasn't just an idiosyncratic thing they made up for the character of Jed.

Jen Tweeted & Instagrammed a cute pic of Will with a "Yogurt 'Stache" (as opposed to a Milk Mustache). But it actually looks, to me, more like a "Yogurt Beard/Goatee"... Just saying. https://instagram.com/p/7MHd4QK-eE/ -
Giada de Laurentiis: It's "Rrrrrrrricohta" You Barbarian!
BW Manilowe replied to Rhondinella's topic in Food Network Star
Giada's officially divorced. But she has to pay her ex a CRAPLOAD of money, including $9,000 a month in child support for their daughter Jade (despite the fact they're going to have Joint Custody); she also has to pay him 50% of her net royalties on her books published while they were married *&* 50% of unpaid advances on books yet to be published (they had no prenup). He also gets their $3.2 Million house in Pacific Palisades, CA. They're also splitting up various bank accounts worth more than $2 Million. Neither has to pay the other spousal support. http://www.people.com/article/giada-de-laurentiis-divorce-settlement-todd-thompson -

S21: Tamar Braxton: Dancing All The Way Home
BW Manilowe replied to radishcake's topic in Dancing With The Stars
When I posted about her before, I'd forgotten that Tamar was a Co-Host on The Real. For those who'd like to see her on it, check your local listings for the correct time & channel in your area. The show primarily airs in Syndication. But... If your cable/satellite TV provider carries the BET (Black Entertainment Television) Network, The Real also airs there on Monday-Friday night/Tuesday-Saturday morning, usually starting at 1 or 1:05AM Eastern Time.
