  1. If anyone's missed any eps up to this week, Lifetime's airing a marathon of this season starting with the Road to the Runway ep through last week's ep, running in order, before airing tonight's new ep. The marathon airs beginning at 4PM Eastern/3PM Central Time today (check local listings in other time zones).
  2. In case anyone is interested & forgot, the S5 DVDs were released in the US on Tuesday (2 days ago). If anyone's interested in buying them, amazon.com has the lowest price I've seen for the set, so far. They're $29.99 for the set, before you add in shipping & handling fees & any tax. http://www.amazon.com/Hawaii-Five-0-Season-Alex-OLoughlin/dp/B00ZUL9LJK/ref=sr_1_1?s=movies-tv&ie=UTF8&qid=1441278604&sr=1-1&keywords=hawaii+five-o Also... If anyone gets the episodes from iTunes or Amazon Instant Video, the page for S6 has been started at both sites. Of course they have no episodes right now, but they do have a FREE video available of the Q&A Alex & Scott filmed where they answered questions submitted by fans last season.
  3. I know (about Danny, Rachel & Charlie). Like I'm pretty sure I said here, like, 9 zillion times before the ep with the reveal aired, I knew it was gonna be true from the second Rachel told Danny she was pregnant & he was the father in S1 (Season Finale)--she said it with total positivity, like Danny was the only guy she was sleeping with at the time (whether that's because Stan was almost always away on business or not)--despite the fact she later lied & told him she'd miscalculated & Stan was the father (probably because she was pissed he stayed behind to help free Steve instead of getting on the redeye to Jersey with her & Gracie), then tried to explain away why she never told Danny, when she finally *did* tell him, by saying she didn't want both their kids losing their father if something happened to Danny in the line of duty. Plus, there was the whole "mistaking Danny for the father" thing by the staff & another new father at the hospital, which everyone eventually gave up on correcting, when he got roped into helping Rachel with the birth 'cause Stan was in Beijing on business in S2. I saw that as totally deliberate on Rachel's part since she knew Danny was the father & that was probably the only legitimate way to have him present for the birth without having to admit she'd lied about his paternity for most of the pregnancy (so, of course, it was lucky Stan was away during the birth). And, of course, there's the whole thing of Rachel giving Charlie the middle name "William" (& Danny's last name being "Williams") during the birth scene. I remember Danny telling Steve last season that he told Rachel she *had* to tell Charlie who his father really was; so I hope that at some point when we see Charlie this season, he's going by the name "Charlie Williams", or they at least acknowledge they're working on it (like when they changed the character name of Danny's girlfriend, from "Amber Vitale" to "Melissa Armstrong", after the ep last season where Danny was stabbed by the abusive ex-husband she was running from). So, while the reveal that Danny is Charlie's father may not have been that big, the fact he's sick & in need of a bone marrow transplant & Danny's probably the only possible donor (since Stan's not related & Rachel & Grace don't match) kind of is (although a paternity reveal due to a child's illness is a well-used trope). Yeah, I saw the pic of Steve & Cath in bed before it disappeared. Lenkov keeps saying we'll know in Ep 603 what's up with them, & I think that pic maybe was from that ep. Personally, I kind of hope they can keep her as recurring, as a friend, whatever happens to the romantic relationship. I've always liked the character & have never seen the negative side of the actress the Cath/Michelle haters keep bringing up in social media. I think they're on something like Ep 607 or 608 now, maybe later, filming-wise, & they just announced the casting of the apparent new McG girlfriend. I started following the actress on Twitter, in case she Tweets about filming, & it doesn't look like she's gone to Hawaii to start filming anything yet. Probably soon though. But she has thanked people who congratulated her on getting the part/joining the show. As for Chin's new love interest, I'm sorry they've apparently gotten rid of the Leilani character, but Lindsay Price (the actress) & her husband, Chef Curtis Stone, have 2 young sons--the eldest is 3 & the youngest will be 1 later this month--so it's possible she needed to move on for family reasons (especially since her husband also does his fair share of business traveling, though he owns an LA restaurant).
  4. She was on the show with 2 other people from the NBC show she left Dancing with the Stars to do, called I Can Do That (which was on over the spring &/or early summer & has been renewed for next season). It's a show where the cast tries to learn, apparently in pairs, how to do various things like playing for the Harlem Globetrotters & being a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader. They get points for the tasks, if not also audience votes. Beyond that I'm not sure how it works. Anyway... Among her Co-Stars are Joe Jonas & Jeff Dye, who were also on the show last night (so it was a "group" thing, like the Fresh Off the Boat cast the other week). They also have 2 or 3 other Co-Stars, but I don't remember their names.
  5. Paula was diagnosed with Diabetes shortly before the crap hit the fan regarding the racism charges (she had also been hired as a spokesperson for the drug company which makes her medication--an endorsement deal she subsequently lost when the racism charges did hit the fan). So the weight loss was at least partially medically-related, as opposed to vanity-related.
  6. Derek talks to People magazine about working with Bindi: http://www.people.com/article/derek-hough-dancing-stars-partner-bindi-irwin-breath-fresh-air Also from People... Bindi & Derek's first rehearsal/first meeting was at a Wildlife Learning Center near LA, & involved a python being draped around Bindi's neck/shoulders. http://www.people.com/article/bindi-irwin-rehearses-dancing-stars-snake-derek-hough
  7. Tamar Braxton (I think all the Braxton sisters, actually) is a singer, like her better-known sister Toni (who did DWTS in a previous season, but had to drop out due to health issues). All the Braxton sisters--there're at least 4 of them--star in the reality series Braxton Family Values, which airs on the WE cable channel on Thursday nights (but this season's finale is either airing tomorrow night or in the very near future). Also, I'm not trying to defend Gary but after he was on Celebrity Apprentice, he was found to have a fairly bad hearing loss--which really didn't help the way he came off at the time. I follow Marlee Matlin on Twitter; she was on CA with him, if I remember right, & she Re-Tweeted something from him that sounded like he was thanking her for helping him get assistance with his hearing issues.
  8. Sneaky Pete, the rejected CBS Pilot with Margo in the cast that Amazon Prime Video picked up was ordered to series today. http://tvline.com/2015/09/02/sneaky-pete-amazon-bryan-cranston-giovanni-ribisi-series-order/
  9. I respectfully beg to differ regarding Forest Whitaker not having a career-defining role (if not also a celeb-defining relationship, though I can't remember that right now). Forest Whitaker won the Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role Oscar for his performance in The Last King of Scotland. I'd say that at least possibly fits as "career-defining". But it was a few years ago now (2006), & probably long since forgotten. Not to mention probably few, if any, of the players this week--let alone Jane Lynch--have actually seen the movie.
  10. The little boy who played the mini Darth Vader in a popular Super Bowl car ad (I think VW, it's embedded & described in the linked news story) received a new pacemaker generator in a brief surgical procedure in LA yesterday (September 1st). http://www.nbcnews.com/health/heart-health/boy-who-played-mini-darth-vader-hit-ad-gets-new-n419936
  11. None of Miley's friends are famous? Oh PLEASE!!!! She was engaged to 1 of the Australian Hemsworth brothers, who are famous for acting; she previously dated Patrick Schwarzenegger, eldest son of actor/former California Governor ("Governator") Arnold Schwarzenegger & his ex-wife, journalist Maria Shriver (which also makes Patrick part of the political Kennedy clan); she's also currently, at least periodically, dating Victoria's Secret Angel model Stella Maxwell. I presume those 3 are/were also friends. And her Godmother (who I presume is also a friend) is singer/actress Dolly Parton. And I can't stand Miley just as much as I can't stand Taylor. Just saying.
  12. I *DON'T* wanna start anything, but I have to vent... My current Pet Peeve is that elected County Clerk in Kentucky (who happens to be on her *4th* marriage, by the way) who still refuses, as of today--despite having been ordered to do so by *multiple* US courts since SCOTUS' pro marriage equality ruling, including at the appellate *AND* Supreme Court levels (SCOTUS as of yesterday)--to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples because it's against her religious convictions, & who also won't issue them to straight couples so as not to be seen as being outright discriminatory against gays (but she's actually, in my opinion, still being discriminatory--to ALL couples--since she won't issue them AT ALL). That's fine if she feels the way she does, I guess. But... she needs to suck it up & do the job she was elected to, as prescribed by law, REGARDLESS of how she feels about this. Or she needs to resign, which she says she won't do. She can't be fired since she's an elected official, only impeached. She can be held in contempt of court, & sued for not doing her prescribed duties, however. And the Governor of Kentucky previously sent out a Memo, or something, specifically ordering ALL Kentucky County Clerks to abide by SCOTUS' marriage equality ruling & issue marriage licenses to *ALL* eligible couples, gay or straight. So she's going against a State (Commonwealth) order as well.
  13. For the Catherine/Michelle Borth detractors, you should perhaps be happy with this news, from TVLine.com (& their sister site Deadline.com) earlier today: http://tvline.com/2015/09/01/hawaii-five-0-season-6-cast-sarah-carter-mcgarrett-girlfriend/
  14. From TVLine.com yesterday, August 31st: http://tvline.com/2015/08/31/once-upon-a-time-season-5-spoilers-emma-rumple-training/
  15. Wes Craven was also a writer (maybe also "graduating" to producer & director) on The Partridge Family, back in the day. Also... "Self-Help Guru" & Author Dr. Wayne Dyer died, at age 75. Supposedly he'd been diagnosed with Leukemia awhile back, but nothing was stated in his obit as his cause of death. http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/books/2015/08/30/wayne-dyer-obituary/71435806/ And... Former Maryland Governor Marvin Mandel Died at Age 95. http://touch.baltimoresun.com/#section/-1/article/p2p-84321926/
  16. Oh Penny's thought of herself as an "expert" for quite awhile (in her own mind, anyway). She was on a Food Network Star-related episode of Chopped awhile back. After getting chopped for--among other things--putting too much saffron in her dish, she questioned in her exit "talking head" whether she or Amanda Freitag, the judge who had the unfortunate task of explaining why she got chopped, had more knowledge of Middle Eastern cooking (implying that she, Penny, did even with all of Amanda's major, probably more prestigious, professional credits, compared to Penny's. But I doubt Penny knows more than Amanda, despite Penny's claims that she's of Middle Eastern heritage... I mean, I'm half-Filipina & know basically nothing about Filipino food, except for some of the names of the dishes & some of the native condiments' names).
  17. Bindi has a younger brother, Robert "Bob" Clarence Irwin, born in 2003 (I can't find the exact date, so far), who's/who will be 12 this year & was going to "relocate" to LA along with Bindi & his Mom for the duration of Bindi's run on DWTS. I thought maybe the boy in the red & gold shirt might've been him, but after looking at a bunch of pics of Bindi's brother in the last few minutes, I'm not so sure now. CED9: Bindi may have been nominated for more than 1 Daytime Emmy for her kids' show here in the US, but her Wikipedia page says she's only won 1 (she's also won a "Silver Logie" award, which is the Australian equivalent of our Emmy award... & maybe also our Oscars or the Golden Globes--which honor both TV & Film work. I forget if the Logies are strictly an award for TV work or for Australian TV & Film. Here's the link to Bindi's Wikipedia page, in case anyone wants to read more about her: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bindi_Irwin
  18. Given that 1 of the designers this season--Candice--has the last name "Cuoco", & there's been speculation here she's perhaps a sister (or some other relation) to Kaley, I'm kind of assuming Kaley won't be a guest judge this season. I mean, it wouldn't really be fair to have her sit in judgment of something designed by a relative, right? As for Kiernan Shipka (responding to someone else's comment & not yours), I think she did fine, & I see no real problem in someone of her relatively young age being a guest judge on the show. I seem to remember her also having been a guest judge on either this show in a previous season during Mad Men's run, or on 1 of the "spinoff" PR shows. Just because she's a teenager (& an actress, by at least current profession) doesn't necessarily mean she's totally clueless about fashion, or that she can't hold her own discussing it with people who actually are professionals in the fashion world. At least in my opinion.
  19. At the time Guy won, the show was actually just called The Next Food Network Star; in it's most recent seasons, including this season, it's just been called Food Network Star. Guy hasn't disappeared because Food Network keeps giving him new shows to do. Whether the Hearty Boys (& other FNS winners, except Amy Finley, who did leave of her own accord) disappeared by their choice or because Food Network didn't give them new opportunities beyond their FNS Winner's show, who knows?
  20. Like I said, I remembered she was on at least once; I couldn't remember if she was recurring or not. And I'm fairly sure she was Mayor Giuliani's wife/estranged wife at least most of the time she was on the show.
  21. Here's a pic, from Entertainment Tonight's website 2 days ago, of Bindi still in costume apparently after a photo shoot &/or rehearsal. For those who don't know her, the blond woman with bangs, & laughing, at the left side of the pic is Bindi's Mom, Terri Irwin. http://m.etonline.com/news/170876_bindi_irwin_steps_out_costume_for_dwts_photo_shoot/
  22. Nora didn't say it; Jack did, to Nora & then-Mayor Giuliani, who made a cameo appearance in the ep to escort Nora to her first day of work for some reason I still haven't figured out--other than maybe he was a fan of the show & the producers could get him (his ex-wife [1 of his exes?] Donna Hanover, an actress & TV personality, also made at least 1 appearance on the show as a Judge... But I forget what episode she was in).
  23. She's also the former Co-Host of DWTS, until the last, like, 2 (maybe 3) seasons when Erin Andrews replaced her. And she's just been announced as the Co-Host of this year's Miss America pageant, airing September 13th on ABC.
  24. He's apparently another "Social Media Star", like Bethany Mota from a previous season. Only he's a "star" through Vine (the app/site where people post 8-second video clips of whatever), not YouTube like Bethany.
  25. I've hated Nicole with the fire of thousands of burning suns since she broke Rachel Crow's heart on the 1st season of the US X Factor by not voting to save her in an elimination (with the judges votes & the audience votes combined, Rachel lost; I can only assume Nicole was assuming the audience was pro-Rachel & would save her even if Nicole voted to send her home... Which isn't what happened). I love NPH, but now I'm as ambivalent about watching this as I was about watching US X Factor once they added 1 of the idiotic, untalented, skanky KarTRASHian sisters as a Co-Host. Sigh...
