Regarding Jeanettes mother, her popularity or not in HS isn't known but what we do know is that she's super concerned about appearances. Kate's big beef with Jeanette is that she stole her life and it sounds like she wasn't quiet about it. One report about how Jeanette was terrible wouldn't be a national conversation but if she was on multiple talk shows and going on and on about how Jeanette stole her life, that would. Enough that the lawsuit made sense for a lawyer to take.

It could be that she basically skipped the overnights, that would be a week. She does an overnight with her favorite, then sends everyone else home. I would love to see more people go home faster though. I hate all the weeks when everyone doesn't get a date.

I can't see it either. In the books she's been writing Phillip and he seems nice. She's sure that she's going to go off and live with Penny and be happy spinsters and she gets shaken by Penny who she just assumed wouldn't ever find someone happy in love and she takes off to go marry a guy she's never met. It just doesn't work with who show Eloise is.

There's a ten year gap between books three and four. Then books four through six take place within a period of two or three months. Books seven and eight feel disconnected from the others (I like them).

I don't understand why no one just kills Wilford already. He's a tyrant and no one who works with him actually likes him.

NY and NYC have been no more dangerous than CT since they mandated masks. NYC was terrifying (as was the entire tri-state area, NJ's per capita death rate is higher than NY's and CT's rate was very high also) but it's not any worse now than the rest of the country and everyone wears masks even when they're outside. I'd certainly avoid the subway but day to day it's no worse than being with the grandparents. Max needs to learn how to single dad. Legally he's also at a dangerous period with as long as his daughter has been with her grandparents in that they could sue for custody and that would be a huge mess.

They don't teach that in many places in the South. They still push the southern pride and some places still show slavery as being not that bad. The curriculum in many places still doesn't admit that the civil war is about slavery (there are many articles about this). The school my daughter went to in the suburbs of Detroit was the whitest one she attended. I think there was one POC in her entire class, probably three in her grade. Even diverse looking communities are very segregated.

Exactly, there are a lot of ways that you could have a fun historical era party without having it be a plantation party. Have a revolutionary war era party and everyone can wear panniers (side hoops) or a Jane Austen party and everyone can wear regency dresses, you could even have a Victorian era party and the girls can wear hoop skirts or busles (although those comically huge pastel hoop skirts read as slave owners no matter how you do it). If this was Katie's only misdeed you could see it as ignorance but there were other things (most notably that she bullied others for dating black guys in HS) which compounded on the party.

Its been off and on for decades. There was the inital series and then the next generation that followed with one of the kids of the first series. They cycled through and graduated for ten or fifteen years and it was finally canceled by netfilx a couple years ago. Two of Ginny's friends were in the last couple series, Max was Frankie a poor little Rich Girl who once was in a thruple with Esme who plays Norah. The actor who plays Joe played Sav a teen who looked old enough to be a faculty member by the time they had him graduate.

There's a lot of drinking that goes on at parties in my area. I photographed a sweet 16 were a kid arrived drunk off her ass (being dropped off by a parent) and had to be taken to the hospital for alcohol poisoning. So many of the kids were drinking (in the bathrooms) and there were parents (and the venue provided security guard) there just basically ignoring the entire thing. I was shocked. My kid doesn't get invited to those sorts of parties though. Sometimes it's good having a kid who isn't social.
