Ruhle is coaching grown men, not college kids. Collective punishment for the whole because of the actions of an individual is not going to go over well with a bunch of professionals.

The running joke in Pittsburgh was that he looks he should be in your slow pitch softball league, not in the majors.
  6. Although I enjoyed the episode, I really could do without the Mars Baby plot. Ever since she was a teenager, Kelly has been portrayed as perhaps the most responsible character on the show. It feels totally out of character for her to be having sex on a years long mission without contraceptives and condoms. That was wrong of Ed to let Nick take the fall for the drilling accident. He has to at least suspect that his decision to put a drug impaired Danny on comms played a role. Totally understand Aleida's conflict about what to do about Margo. She is the entire reason for her career and is the one who sent her to the moon. I kind of assumed that their alt U version of Jamestown had a different history than the one in our universe which was a total shitshow.

Stephen Ross is full of shit. His suggestion of tanking was a joke? That's like joking that you are betting on your team. It's something you don't joke about. How did Sean Payton escape without punishment? I assume Brady is in the clear because players can't tamper under the CBA, but Payton was a coach, management.

There have been a lot of tributes to Vin Scully featuring his most famous calls, but I think that misses the point. His magic stemmed from how he broadcasted an entire game. His mellifluous (don't get to use that word too often) voice and ability to tell a narrative within the context of the game was amazing. I feel bad for fans who never heard him call an entire game, because that is what made him great.

Hey, NFL, remember this statement you released in response to Brian Flores' lawsuit? Not holding up too well, huh? You reflexively went after him before you knew the facts.

That's insane (the rule, not your interpretation). Under this logic, had all 25+ women testified before the judge, and she found that all of their allegations were credible, he still would have gotten only 6 games.

This season some dude who wears his socks too high will get fined more than Watson did. It's a disturbing thought, but I really think Watson truly believes that he did nothing wrong. He sees sexual acts as a part of a (female) massage therapists duties. His own lawyer even hinted at that when he he referenced "happy endings." I read the judge's decision and it is rough. Perhaps the worst part is that the judge makes a distinction between violent sexual contact and non-consensual sexual contact. She finds that And But she also gets into rationalizations No, he is at least a four time offender based on your own assessment of the limited evidence presented to you. And then se declares Uh, OK, give then why did you not give him that 3 game suspension for each allegation that you, in your own ruling" found credible? I'm no lawyer, but her reasoning sounds fucked. As for the Haslam's statement, the judge wrote. Sorry for the wall of text.

Bill Russell was one of the most important figures in the history of sports. Not the NBA, not team or US sports, but all of it. While he is will be primarily (and appropriately) be remembered for his career as a player he was also one of the first Black head coaches in sports and he had a decades long history of advocacy for other Black athletes.

This whole City Connect uni thing is kind of weird. I'm sure they have a plan, but as a fan, the rollout feels kind of random. My Pirates probably won't get the new look until 2026. I am also convinced that while big market teams like the White and Red Sox, Dodgers etc. have gotten them, they have not touched the Yankees pinstripes because they are afraid that fans and the Baseball Furies will hunt them down.

Pete Williams, enjoy your retirement. "Breaking News" is a phrase that is used far to often, but the definition of it was watching Williams stand in front of the Supreme Court, reading and reporting on just released decisions on live TV.
  21. I'm with the camp that finds Alexi's actions plausible. History is full of people who have ignored their own health and safety in order to save the lives of others. He was functional, self diagnosed as having a headache, so he took aspirin.

Philadelphia Eagles' Gardner Minshew spent offseason in old prison bus, focused on 'Super Bowl or bust' Dude, the only way the Eagles make the Super Bowl is if Jalen Hurts balls the hell out and you never step a foot on the field.
  23. How did the Russians know that Kelly was pregnant before she did? I could have done with less Ed/Danny drama, but on the whole I agree that it was a good episode. Karen was awesome, Dev came through (These are engineering problems, and we are engineers. Shall we begin?) and the teamwork between mission command and the astronauts on Mars was really well paced. At first I thought it was Jimmy being his asshole self. But then she started he big confession. She doesn't owe him shit.

So the Yankees have no problem with a player who is not vaccinated and potentially can't travel to Toronto, but god forbid a player has long hair or a beard.
