Agree that the newborn was massive. Have not watched this show regularly in years, so I am enjoying the flashbacks and the show.

Ugh those awards ceremonies. Every year the whole school has to sit through them. Nice for the high-achievers, not so great for the quiet, lost-in-the-crowd types like one of my kids.

I agree with all of this! You said it much better than I could, Notmuchofacook -- thank you! -

Thanks, shoegal! I was not paying close attention. -
I felt bad for Kirk and Laura -- it would be awful to be in that limbo of not knowing. However, I did NOT like the editing in which we had to visit them for each of the five days prior to the final ultrasound. What more could they say? "Ummm, we still don't know anything ... Yup, still waiting ... Etc etc ..." I thought a lot of this episode was painfully slow. I do feel bad for Erik who still desperately wants a father figure ... And his FIL is so dry and humorless.

Back to Brunchgate, did Betthenny ask Sonja out for brunch in front of all the others? I think that is inconsiderate -- beyond the fact that Sonja was Ramona's houseguest (which B may or may not have known.) -

ACKKKK!!! I am SO tired of women fighting all the time. Bethenny and Ramona -- shut UP!! I wasn't paying attention to whatever the argument was about, but I just can't with B. And, there are too many Housewives on this show. -
Say Yes To The Dress: Atlanta - General Discussion

Besides the controlling groom and future MIL in that episode, I thought it odd/wrong that the bride invited everyone to come see her pick out a dress -- for an event they were not invited to! I also felt bad for bride's mom. -
I want to see LuAnn's new place !!! Looks like Bethanny joined the show to do "woe is me" propaganda and turn us all against her husband. She really is exhausting -- and dramatic. I wonder how much of it is real?

Say Yes To The Dress - General Discussion

Yeah, I'm sick of that dress, too. Did not realize it is a Pnina, as many times as I have see it! To me, it just looks so heavy, and tacky with the silver bling on it. -
Casual viewer. I think Whitney has bad hair.

Yes, I was surprised they showed that clip of the consultant saying "you don't know what you want." lol. I sort of faded out in that episode, but I wasn't wild with her choice. The Jersey boys family with the Mike guy and his brothers --- ack! They were trying soooooooo hard! It was cute at first, then got old. Agree that it felt like they were trying for their own sitcom. Glad she chose something other than that tired old heavy-looking satin dress with the bling on bodice and dropped waist. Then the Jersey girl who thought she wanted bling but chose simpler. I liked the dress she chose and happy she realized she didn't have to be outrageous to be noticed. I think her twin would be more attractive with darker hair. I recognized the friend (Kelly?) who I believe ended up getting her own one-hour special about her wedding. Glad they didn't give her too much screen time; this was the bride's moment. -
Too much NPH. Didn't need the running gag about the briefcase or the "isn't the show over with yet?" ending with his forecasts. Have the song sung at the same time as the "In Memoriam" segment, or no vocal at all. I too remember when they would give a short announcement about the documentaries. I really liked that. Someone upthread said Garth Brooks should have sung "I'm Not Going to Miss You" instead of Tim McGraw. Not a huge TM fan, but I am so glad it was not Garth. Garth would have over-emoted, making it more about him by taking his hat off at the end and looking sorrowful, or something like that. Love Garth and his music back in the day, but recently saw him in concert and he was way OTT in (faux, IMO) emotion to the crowd.

Okay, thanks Snickerdoodle. I was entering the workforce, getting married and having baby #1 in the '80's, so perhaps not up to date on pop culture. I stand corrected!
-
This show takes place in the '80's, right? I don't watch it regularly, but this week someone used the expression "that sucks" and another week the mom said "awesome." Pretty sure those expressions were not around in the 1980's.

I didn't understand Madonna's message -- can someone explain? I am about her age and admire her fitness and shape, but did not think her stage outfit was flattering. It was a little embarrassing. In other news, I am so sick of these Boston Tea Party commercials. -

27bored, I remember those early BeeGees songs and actually like them better. I think part of what I admire about them was their ability to recreate themselves. And I still think Barry Gibb (with beard) is handsome! -

Miranda lost some weight and she was rocking those leather pants. She and Blake Shelton are the current darlings of country. Rihanna's dress = attention. -

Ahhh, so that was Jessie J. I think her dress was in keeping with the Grammys -- she'll be noticed. I also am old and watching this show to see what the "young people" are watching. :) -

Love that Haim knows the words to "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling!" I read that they come from a musical family. And I enjoyed that song with Tom Jones and woman whose name I missed. Liked her voice, not the outfit with the panties so much. -

I think that might be Lady Gaga -- she is with Tony Bennett?
