  1. I thought this was a mess. They tried to do way too much. Unnecessary storylines and characters (hello Anthony Hopkins), too many forced comedic lines that didn't land. The movie itself was insufferably long. I had low expectations and it definitely met them. The one saving grace is Mark Wahlberg. If they do another one they need to keep it simple and probably bring Shia back, his unexplained absence is being felt.
  2. I don't think so. The only rankings I can't remember are Keone & Mari and Quickstyle. All he other ones were definitely the higher ranking team winning. If the underdog never wins then the duels render themselves pointless. Just take the top five. I actually preferred Royal Flux over Super Cr3w. The dancing has been great but so far no real suspense. I'd rather see Eva duel Diana, Super Cr3w battle the Jabbawockeez or Kinjas, etc. I think they miss a real opportunity by not having like vs like in the duels, JMO.
  3. Issa at the BET Awards Sunday. She's lost a lot of weight.
  4. I came here to comment on this season after finishing it yesterday and I had no idea about the Skupin stuff, YIKES! I wonder if he was taking the fall for one of his kids, anyway...awful. The season, however, I really enjoyed. This is the only season I have watched during my recent past season binges that I did not know who won, which made the season even more fun. I actually wasn't sure who was going to win after the FTC because Denise came off looking awful, Skupin looked like a moron, and I thought Lisa did the best. LOVED Penner's FTC speech and Jeff's question to Skupin was awesome, too.
  5. Did that show ever air? I never saw it.
  6. Calvin's portrayer, Greg Vaughan returned to Days of Our Lives last fall. That's why he was written out.
  7. My preferences: Nick over Fikshun but I expected Fikshun to win and was fine with him winning as I think he has more range overall. Miami All Stars over Team Salsa, they really brought it and I loved it but they were up against all odds. Eva over Kyntay, I'm just not impressed with the duo, maybe I need to watch some of their YouTube videos. Didnt really love K&M, but I'm glad they got the nod over Quickstyle. Only four duels this week ?, I guess some of these matchups are getting montaged because they would need four episodes just to do all the duels.
  8. I'm guessing they already had too many from Micronesia, but I would've rather seen Natalie than Danielle, whom no one remembered. I still would like to see Natalie play again.

    Fix The Show

I'm watching HvV for the first time and it's very frustrating to watch the Heroes lose every immunity challenge with a puzzle and it got me thinking, there is a puzzle at the end of physical challenges way too much. For instance, the challenge from the past two seasons where they had to lift a tribemate up and get letters to solve a puzzle only to have everyone sit there for 45 minutes with no clue. It really negates the physical part of the challenge. I get that they want to even the playing field but I would like to see more challenges without puzzles at the end.
  10. Lame. If this is the case I don't want to see any wild cards given to women this year. If they aren't the top five they definitely don't deserve to be there.
  11. Just watched this season for the first time, really enjoyed it. I don't think Stephen had a chance but he was alwful in final tribal, I don't think he was as bad as Amanda but then at least she got votes. Amazing that JT doesn't get penalized for voting out Taj, but Stephen seemed to get penalized for the thought of voting out JT. I was quite entertained by how much they went at each other. Tyson's blindside ranks up there for me with Ozzy's blindside in Micronesia. Obviously, some of these players have played multiple times but I wouldn't mind seeing Erinn, Sierra, or Taj again. Game Changers was my first introduction to JT and I definitely wasn't impressed, I haven't seen HvV yet (I know he makes a huge gaffe). It was good to see him actually play well. I do think returning players tarnish their "legacies" a little upon returns.
  12. Watched S1 on Hulu this weekend and really enjoyed it for the most part. I love Remy and I hope he and Charley get together in S2, it was too early this season. I actually like Nova and the cop, I'm glad he left his wife, I don't need any more of my strong black women carrying on with white married men (yes that was a shot at Scandal). I agree RA is a man child, I just can't get on his team.
  13. Saw it today. I thought it was a cartoon. SO over the top, complete with slow-mo and The Rock being even more Hercules than last movie. And too long. Charlize was good but I hated her hair, it was so distracting. I did like the rookie and Roman and Ludacris but I could've done without this installment.
  14. Loving: Cirie, Sarah, Andrea meh: Brad, Sierra, Tai over: Zeke, Michaela jury out on: Aubry, Troyzan I agree it makes more sense to get rid of Sierra or Brad but I loved that Debbie blindside so much. Michaela may be annoying but the producers are choosing not to show this in the show whereas Debbie is nuts and they've made no bones about it. Six girls left, I would love to see the girls get together (I know it won't happen). If I have one complaint about this season it's that I am not loving the challenges. I'm currently watching Survivor China on Hulu and the challenges are so much better than they are now. I missed those but I'm guessing they've cut the budget since then.
  15. Just binged all 12 episodes this week. I thoroughly enjoyed the season. I'm okay with Quinn dying because at least he didn't spend the entire season bleeding to death or in a coma like last season. I needed him to come back and have a better death. In a perfect world, Peter and Carrie get married, move to the Caribbean and raise Frannie but they still have two more seasons and it's just not realistic to have them together for the next two seasons nor would've been fair to continue on keeping them apart. The real mistake with Quinn's character wasn't this season but treating him so poorly last season. I'm not sure what next season looks like but I'm all in. And next season, I'll get Showtime when Homeland begins. This show is just way too intense to binge watch.
  16. Late to the party. Just binged watched the season over the weekend. This was an awful end to a very mediocre season. Juliet is snoozville, subtitles, really? I would've rather had Whitney's POV. I could care less about French prof. Sarah Treem is saying Juliet has a big decision to make next year. WTF? Why would they bring her back. I agree there is no reason for S4 and unless I see Cole & Allison in the previews for next season, I'm out. This was such a well done show, it saddens me this season was such a let down.
  17. Insecure will be back July 23!
  18. 1. Nothing rivals the Super Bowl. Empire at its peak still didn't touch The Walking Dead, which peaked in season 5. 2. An All Black drama that shows us at our worst. Why make excuses for the show by saying the ratings are still better than most shows and dismiss the fact the show is doing half of what it did just a few months ago in the fall. 3. The writing is completely disjointed. Even Taraji P plans on bailing as soon as the shows gets to 100 episodes Taraji P won't play Cookie for long No disrespect, just my opinion, but FOX can't be happy with the slide and if they aren't concerned they're crazy. I want the show to do well because it gives opportunities for future black shows. But I fear they've ruined it and it's reached a point of no return.
  19. Long answer from rockerskating.com: Team USA got one pairs spot in PyeongChang. But I'll preface that with the fact that nothing has been confirmed or official, and will not be until the competition is over. There are a couple of steps to this. First, in order for the US to even be eligible for two spots, they had to have placement points of 28 or lower. With Haven Denney/Brandon Frazier not qualifying for the free skate, the US started with 18 points from them going into the free skate. And that meant that Alexa Scimeca Knierim/Chris Knierim had to finish in the top 10 in order for the two spots to be possible. Knierim/Knierim finished 10th and incredibly close to the other teams right above them (they were under four points from fifth place). But the wrinkle comes in the maximum 16 spots that qualify to the Olympics out of the World Championships. Because the total number of spots earned by countries yesterday added to 17, the country that was the very last to qualify, in this case, the US, would only get one spot. So the rule is set, though, very much in speculation, there is potentially at least one way that things may pan out for the US to get two spots. One of the countries may not use all of their spots - though the only one that comes to mind is France, which earned two spots and currently has three active pairs (two of which - I believe - have a partner who does not yet have citizenship). Should France decide to relinquish one spot, the rules note that this spot goes to the Nebelhorn Trophy for another country to earn. That said, the rules do not account for the scenario where a country doesn't earn a spot due to the maximum. This may require a clarification.
  20. Exactly! This was a whole new level of bad writing. Did she go to the Lee Daniels school of bad writing over the summer? I also agree that this whole season has been like HTGAWM and the writers try to reveal pieces at a time but It's done in way that's apparent they have no real direction.
  21. So much fun. I missed last years so these competitions were all new to me. Loved: Team competition, Flex LaBreck, Stillings/Gill getting montaged ?, Drew vs Najee, salmon ladder competition, warped wall competition Didn't Love: some of the participant choices (I love Jon Stewart, but salmon ladder) would've loved to seen Jessie Graff on the salmon ladder I do worry about people getting hurt at some of this events though...
  22. I'm just not loving Corey Hawkins, I wish they would've followed Kate from Live Another Day. I agree that Isaac and Nicole have more chemistry and are stronger actors. I love Miranda Otto and James from Scandal. There are some good bones here despite the flaws. I didn't have a problem with the girl attempting to kill the classmate, I think it's gutsy but I'm not convinced he's dead. I also want to know who's president.
  23. This episode was a mess. There is just too much going on, too much baggage, I feel like almost everyone is so unlikeable. I like Michaela/Asher but not so much Michaela by herself. I love Annalise but definitely not prison Annalise. Why is Nate still here? Dude pick a side or go away. I'm tired of Conner. I'm over Oliver. They ruined Laurel. She loved Wes more than Frank, how long did they date, like a week? They've also ruined Frank. And Bonnie...sigh. She's great when she's confident but a complete bore when she's all "I'm not good enough" blah, blah. I am sure I sound very jaded. I really didn't care about Wes's character but after they killed him, I find myself less tolerant of some of the storylines now. I'll hang in there for the rest of the season. There's what like four episodes left? I don't know about next season, though. Yet, I say that every season around this time, lol.
