  1. When it comes to life - not just religion - I say, never trust someone in a position of power who wants to keep you uneducated.
  2. According to the OB/GYN that does surgery at my hospital, multiple births, even for first-time pregnancies are becoming more common. He says it's because a surprising number of pregnancies are multiples, with one of the foetuses being lost or absorbed during the very early stages, but now with better pre-natal care, and pre-pregnancy care, a greater number of these pregnancies are carrying both foetuses to viable births. So, not ruling out twins.
  3. As a huge fan of Harley Quinn, I think that is an awesome name. And I don't have a problem with Harley or Quinn on their own either on its own sounds fine. (And I'm a 38 year old comic book nerd). They could go with Paris and Rome. That way they get a place name baby like the Dullards, and get reminded of their honeymoon every they use the names.
  4. Aren't there plenty of images out there of Jesus, an unmarried man (depending on whether you believe the conspiracy theories about a secret marriage), front hugging both men and women? It must be nice for the Duggars to be more pure and moral than Jesus.
  5. I can't imagine the Duggars would stick with a Weight Watchers program for very long. A friend of mine did it for a while, and it seemed to emphasize fresh foods, and vegetables etc., none of which seems to be in ready supply there.
  6. I work in a job were I used to see a lot of names (admission forms), and I've noticed that a lot of young adults who were given 'uniquely' spelled names in the late 80s-90s are now giving their own kids simple names with traditional spellings. So yeah, I'm all for Jinger changing her spelling, and then if she does have kids, making a point of giving them names that can't possibly misspelled/mispronounced.
  7. The problem they have now, if they are really hoping to use the show to attract suitors for Jana, is that every episode they show themselves to be more unsavoury, so they're only going to attract the super creepy weirdos, who are worse than they are.
  8. If they stayed in the warehouse I could just imagine Boob creepily dropping in to check on their 'progress' and offer suggestions.
  9. RyanD is clearly a dick, but I don't see why Jessica should automatically get the closet on the basis of "SHE'S THE WOMAN" as the recapper stated...admittedly I say this as woman who doesn't give a fuck about storage (I keep my extensive t-shirt collection in a row of cheap laundry baskets lined up next to my bookshelves, and they get chucked in straight from the dryer without being folded).
  10. As for the child raising, it can be done. My mother had four, and my dad was in the army so was away frequently. One of my best friends has 5 boys, and her husband works in the mines interstate, so he's gone for 3 weeks at a time. It's easier for her now that her oldest is in school all day, but she's a great hands on parent and doing a wonderful job with the boys, with minimal help, because those of us around her all have our own lives we can't take time away from. (She's not religious, and her boys do watch morning kids TV, which is when she cleans and cooks for the day).
  11. I actually don't have much sympathy for Josh at this point. He's a grown man, he knows what causes pregnancy and unless Anna's having sex with him while he's unconscious, all he has to do is say no, if he can't bring himself to start using birth control.
  12. 'God's carpet' always sounds to me like a bad euphemism for pubic hair. "Mum, I've got some hair growing...down there." "That's just God's carpet. It's there to remind not to touch anything in that area." Like you Vaysh, I do wonder how a bunch of people who sometimes seem barely functionally literate can manage to read and understand a version of the bible that it not the clearest one around.
  13. I have a friend whose aunt ran a "full service" massage place (I am a heathen, who believes people have the right to careers in negotiable affection, if that's what they want, and they aren't being forced into it). One of the girls there that we chatted with on occasion, when visiting friend's aunt told us that one of her favourite customers would book an hour of her time, watch her masturbate for about 15 minutes and then want to spend the rest of the time just talking to her, and having her listen and say encouraging things. I could see Derrick going for that. He could reason it wasn't cheating if he didn't join in, he'd still get a little thrill, and he'd leave feeling like he'd gotten to speak and be heard.
  14. I recall spending this whole season being annoyed that it was still all about Buffy, especially when she was the one who got to wield the scythe or whatever, and it was from her that Willow pulled the power for all the potentials at the end, simply because I thought that all should have been Faith. I remember when people were all "but why didn't we get a new Slayer after Buffy sacrificed herself at the end of Season 5?", Joss saying that it was because the Slayer line now ran through Faith. Which was probably him making shit up to appease the observant fans, but in my mind that meant that even though the show was still called Buffy, Faith should have been the important one in season 7.
  15. I work in a hospital and it's amazing how many times I've seen people write that they are 'pregnate' under the existing medical conditions section of their form.
  16. I once worked at a childcare with a pair of twins named Michael & Michaela. The parents thought it was cute. I hope J&A give the new M a name that's not even close to what her siblings have.
  17. I find it so weird that nipples are the thing that make breasts obscene for network television, well women's breasts anyway, apparently men's nipples aren't erotic at all, to anyone, as far as the censors are concerned.
  18. I guess the urge to use your phone as a portable porn box magically disappears when you're courting.
  19. Well, now I'm imaging the reaction if Pris left David for a female fire fighter from another town.
  20. I'm a non-believer but I try to be respectful of everyone and their choices, and in return I hope they're respectful of mine.
  21. I'm not judging Anna yet on how many kids they have. My own mother had 5 pregnancies and 4 live births between the ages of 20 - 28, and quite a few people I know now have 3 - 4 kids all under 6, because they've decided to get all their pregnancies out of the way fast, so their kids are all close in age. If she keeps going after M4, maybe that's a different story, but right now she and Josh are doing the same thing many other young couples are doing.
  22. Maybe it's the whole not wanting anything touching your skin sensation that some people get when they're sick, but at the hospital where I work, an amazing amount of people try to leave their rooms barefoot, and have to be told by nurses to put their slippers on. Considering Jill is already a barefoot type person, I can see her doing that, but Derrick should have had something on.
  23. I'm Australian, and none of the religious people I know, including the pastor at the hospital where I work (I just asked him, he's Anglican if it matters), and a friend who studied theology, think the rapture is an actual thing. I'd never heard of it until I read Robert Heinlein's Job.
  24. That oldest girl sounds really good, and I think has more personality than all the older Duggar girls combined.
