  1. I'm probably in the minority here but those pictures don't bother me. It's exactly the type of stuff I used to do with my brothers, and studies have been coming out that this kind of risky, climbing/leaping/bordering on parkour type play is actually good for kids, in brain development, body confidence, and spatial awareness, As long as they are being watched, which they are, the cameras prove that, it's fine.
  2. My best friend's 9 1/2 month old is the same. He'll happily wear any hat she puts on his head, but put a pair of socks on his feet, and they'll be off in seconds. She just doesn't bother anymore. I always assume this is the case when I see babies like Felicity barefoot once they've reached the age of figuring out they can grab their feet.
  3. So, still no sign of Derrick's law school grades?
  4. The positive thing in that photo of Sam (besides how cute he is) is that he is allowed to pick up a mop and help clean. No one swooping in, declaring mopping to be women's work, and taking it away from him.
  5. On one hand those dolls are creepy as fuck, on the other, I guess we should be grateful the 10 year old is being given a baby doll to look after, instead of an actual baby.
  6. One can only hope she's so apathetic she can't be bothered actually disciplining Gideon in any kind of Pearl fashion, and that Austin is out working as much as possible, so he's not around to enforce anything.
  7. Firstly: "If this story sounds too good to be true, it usually is" - like marrying a sheltered, emotionally immature virgin from a TV family, and expecting a perfect marriage, fame & fortune? Secondly: ending with this quote "Colossians 3:23-24 says “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.”" HAHAHAHAHA. I know the quote distinguishes between doing for the Lord, and not for men, but I don't think he works heartily at anything, no even for the Lord.
  8. Maybe the reason Jeremy manages to spend so many Sundays away from his church is that his higher ups have noticed what a dismal speaker he is, and have been gently encouraging him to 'help' guest preachers by letting them lead the service.
  9. There were comments in the JD thread about how amazing it is they never seem to get sick, maybe it’s the constant exposure to dirt and bacteria that has let them build up a resistance.
  10. I have seen so many facebook posts in the past month about how "Jesus' birthday is the reason for Christmas, not Santa and presents! Share if you agree!", that I think there's a huge amount of people out there that really believe Jesus was born on December 25th. In Derrick's case though, regardless of what he believes, he can't miss a chance to make himself feel more holy than all the heathens out there.
  11. Listen to Jessa, asking questions, waiting for an answer, and telling them their houses look nice. Not a single 'yay' or 'are you having fun?'
  12. Finally took a look at Amy's store website. I actually like the Take On The Day Chunky Knit Sweater in the Curvy section.
  13. If it weren't for the patterned sleeves, I'd like the top Joy's chosen as a t-shirt. Much like the weird modesty ruffle they put on some skirts, the sleeves make it look weird and wrong.
  14. Probably more frantic about the idea that maybe (if we're lucky), the network won't want another season of Counting On, if there's no more babies to count on.
  15. I've wondered for a while if the Josie licking stuff is a food insecurity thing like Jill scoffing down food in the bathroom. Sure, she was born into a family already making TV money, but that doesn't mean they were all getting decent serving sizes., and as the littlest, even though she was the 'miracle baby' maybe she was overlooked a bit when the food went around. When I was a kid, the easiest way to make sure my asshole brother didn't grab my food was to lick it, so he wouldn't take it.
  16. I use Celsius (Aussie), and I have never once seen a recipe use decimal points for cooking temperature. And we don't even get that precise with our conversions. If I'm converting an American recipe I found online, I'm not going to try to set my oven to 176, I'm going to round up 180. Why you would slow cook something with only a small amount of liquid smoke is beyond me. You need moisture to keep it tender.
  17. Just think of all the extra money they'd have to spend on food if they didn't waste it on plexus and make up.
  18. Why does Sam's box say "Israel's Box" on it if it's a new thing?
  19. I work in a hospital in Australia, and we have signs up telling people they are not allowed to film staff or patients while in the hospital (nothing is stopping them from filming themselves). If you violate that, you will be removed. Back to the Rods, I'm surprised they'd get the girls baby dolls rather than just handing them Janessa and telling them to look after her.
  20. On tumblr this morning I saw a post calling itself an ‘adult life cheat sheet’, it included this entry, which made me think of Jill. I’m sure she could manage this, and it would maybe look slightly more appetising than her not even close to being crisp apple crisp.
  21. She's also one of those 'instant obedience' parents that uses abusive control over her kids. She said in an interview that her kids have to ask to go to the toilet, and sometimes she says no and makes them wait, to remind them she's the boss, and there are times they'll be out in public, and she'll command them to stop walking and do something like take off their jacket, and if they dare argue, they get punished. Cathy was probably picking up tips to pass on for controlling Izzy and Sam.
  22. Bin seems fairly affectionate with his boys, but have we seen the other Duggar & Duggar adjacent males hug their young sons? Did the lost boys get hugged by JB when they were little that we know of? Because my asshole older brother isn't religious, but he is a raging homophobe, and from time his son was a toddler he'd be all 'boys don't hug boys' and he'd high five him instead. Maybe Derrick's trying to get Sam and Izzy into that mindset as early as possible.
  23. A lot of bibs have that trough. It's basically there to catch food spills, so it's easy to clean. My cousin puts one on her kid when eating at her mother's house, because her daughter is too big for a highchair with a tray, and her mother is the type to have white table cloths, and freak out about spills.
  24. This website has the requirements for an LPN in Arkansas: https://www.practicalnursing.org/lpn-programs/arkansas
  25. I'm not a makeup person, so don't keep up with the trends, but I've noticed in a lot of recent pictures of Emma Stone, she's also wearing unusual eye shadows colours that aren't always doing her any favours. Maybe they're a new trend. I really do like the way the bakers will help each other out and give out ingredients if they have spares.
