The guy who won yesterday and today annoyed me on Monday, when they were down to one full category left and he insisted on calling the clues by the full name of the long category title instead of just naming a money amount.

So I'm in my late twenties, and I was still in elementary school when that came out. The girls on average seem around 4 years younger than me. I can't remember them having too many dances in elementary school and no proms until high school. If they are say 25 or 26, they would have been in high school 2005-2009. My thoughts on the episode. Vanessa was the best part. She did seem concerned as rattled on about his reality tv exs. I seem to remember Andi saying he had been married before, yet no mention of that here. Re: Nick and vomit. Nick is one of the older kids (not sure what #) of 11 kids. Between normal kids stomach sickness and his mom constantly being pregnant and having morning sickness he's probably used to vomit and vomiting women. Someone I know who has Michelle Duggar's personality (with less kids than either Mrs. Duggar or Mrs. Viall) said she knew one of her future son-in-laws was the one for her daughter, when they started telling him all the family vomiting stories and he was super-interested and liked hearing them. Personally, I have mild emetophobia myself so I am sympathetic to those who have it much worse. Nick and Vanessa had really good and intense chemistry looking at the stars. Corinne is hard to watch, but I like that she's more needy than mean towards the other girls.

That's probably a reason but there is more to it than that. Back when they were listening to Gothard, it was one of his ideas. The man (for example JB) working for himself made him more of a patriarch and headship. It gave the father more authority and made him more of a leader. It allowed him to interact more with his large family and have a flexible schedule. It lessened the chance he will be defrauded by coworkers. It also meant that people were isolated from possibly the saner influences in the work force. There are most likely other reasons that Gothard believed in this. I don't remember all the reasons, but the more you think about it the more it lines up with all of the rules.

Anna was 20 when she got married in 2008. Priscilla is Anna's older sister. They got married, not sure, but maybe 2012. So Anna would 24 and Priscilla would be at least 25 when she got married, but other people may remember it better.

Joy and Austin: This One Time At Family Camp
Temperance replied to frenchtoast's topic in Counting On
I think Joy could wait tables or retail jobs. She is smiley and pleasant. Most young people rely completely on the register to do all the math. I don't know about the office work, but she could even be a receptionist, depending on the venue. I think she'd be as competent as most if not all of her sisters. Like Jessa, I think some of her ignorance is studied, like she knows there's no benefit to trying to learn. -
I'm sure the newly opened Museum of Broken Relationships will benefit tremendously from being on the show. I wonder if they bribed someone (TPTB) to be included. I am glad Liz went home but wish they did a rose ceremony. Christen is pretty. Somebody here last week called that the girl with the curly hair and nose ring would have an ex-girlfriend and they were right!

I know other people who don't like flowers. Some people feel if you don't have a lot of money that it's money not well spent considering they don't last. Other people are allergic. People here mentioned other reasons, like they can die soon. I wonder if there are people who (perhaps even without realizing it) associate flowers with death or hospital visits, occasions that often have a lot of flowers. Other people may just be unused to being around flowers. When I heard neonatal nurse, my guess is she would have something of Whitney's personality (from Chris Soules' season) in terms being around babies a lot and wanting to start a family soon. I like that there are many women of color on this season. Nick is not my favorite. I thought he was silly to assume Andi would pick him and not very gracious. By that time, anyone on the show should have been aware they were still competing. I also didn't see Nick (as he was on Andi's season) with Kaitlyn although I thought he treated her very well. He's too intense for me, but reasonably good-looking.

I agree and I also will say that most performances that I have been too usually frown on people taking pictures and/or video during a live performance. So it would seem best to take your picture early and stage it.

I haven't posted in a while, but such exciting news... Two people in their mid-twenties are pregnant with their second child! How amazing! The Duggars may seem young in spirit but neither Derrick nor Jill is actually that young. Derrick is about 27, I think and Jill is 25 and they will be 28 and 26? when they have the second baby. A lot of people are having kids later in life, but plenty of people have 2 kids in their twenties.

TDS 3.0: Season Two Talk
Temperance replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in The Daily Show With Trevor Noah (2015-2022)
The problem with this solution is that let's say New York pass a law that awards electoral votes proportional to their vote but say Texas doesn't. Then for example, Trump gets all of Texas's electors (like he did) and some of New York's and wins even more the of EC than he did. -
Trevor Noah: The Man Himself

That particular article doesn't include Roy Wood Jr. as a black voice in late night. I miss Jessica and TNS, but Roy is on the Daily Show and he is another black voice. -
On the organized sports, when you have enough kids to field two baseball teams or soccer teams or basketball teams etc., it seems silly that you or a friend of yours couldn't teach the kids to play a sport at home. I think Gothard had something against official sports. Don't remember though. In a recent episode, Jeremy took Jinger and Jessa (and others) to view a pro-soccer game in America. Jessa said she was surprised pro-soccer was so big in America, she thought of it (soccer) being bigger in other parts of the world, like central and south America. (not sure if I remember it exactly). It sounded so normal and relatively informed that it took me by surprise. I probably would have said/thought the same thing, (although I'm far from the most knowledgeable about sports, or soccer in particular.)

Although on Archer the gang said they love Branson too!

Didn't watch but can comment on the big V. They didn't put VD, humor aside, because they are becoming the Vuolos. She isn't allowed to have a last name past the ceremony (except when in the media). Having her own last name messes with the headship.

Season One Talk: FFwSB
Temperance replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Full Frontal With Samantha Bee
I watched more for the commiseration than the humor. Since the election cycle, it's knowing I'm not alone in being unhappy that keeps me sane. I don't always laugh at the jokes, but it feels better particularly seeing Sam's anger. I think talking about the election is the only way to understand what happened and try get back on track and I'm glad we have voices like Sam's in the conversation. I understand your point of view, and I don't know what the election meant for you personally, so it may be different for you, that's just my take. -
Season One Talk: FFwSB
Temperance replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Full Frontal With Samantha Bee
Sam was my favorite tonight. I'm advising everyone to watch her (Wednesday's show). It was angry and yet the end was so positive. I love that they sang "Lift Every Voice and Sing." Great show although I missed Stephen (so maybe he was great.) -
The Lonely Js Club: James, Jackson & Johannah
Temperance replied to SpaghettiTuesdays's topic in Counting On
If he is courting, then it's been going on a while. They are going to more secretive in the early stages to avoid another Josiah/Marjorie. But I agree with you Bitterapple they want him to be high profile since his is the next courtship to lure in viewers. I wonder if he really wants to marry or if JB thinks it's time due to plotline purposes. (meaning they need a new courtship, the number of single dudes is increasing, and he is the best position and makes the most sense to get married next. ) -
Among the little girls Jill was/is Jennifer/Jenny's buddy. Jessa was/is Jordyn's buddy.Jana was/is Josie's buddy. Logically that would make Hannie Jinger's buddy. Or Jana was Hannie's buddy until Josie was born and then Hannie went to Jinger. I think that's right. I feel silly knowing all that. I still wouldn't know except as each girl gets married it gets discussed whose buddy was whose.

As for the Seewalds with Spurgeon on this Saturday, it's very possible they were at the wedding. 1. They introduced their son to the Duggars. I think they might like being at a famous wedding. 2. Or the chance to network with other fundie families. Especially since they don't mind marrying kids off young. 3. They might have been invited to baby-sit for Spurgeon during the ceremony since Jessa and Ben were in the wedding. My friend invited her sister's in-laws to help with the children (they had 2) since sis was a bridesmaid. Ben is definitely the oldest of seven. I'm not sure if the missing sibling is male or female.
