  1. I think Jana's quiet. I've noticed all the Duggar girls get louder and more talkative when they're courting. She seems nice, but I'm not sure she's any less a Duggar than the rest of them. I honestly don't why any Duggar wants to get married even to "escape" TTH especially after seeing the others do it. If you're a girl, there's about 20 years of pregnancy and babies to be had before hopefully it all stops and that's sort of if everything goes right. If you're a boy you get to provide for lots of children, without making much money. And probably more reasons then that, including you still deal with the family on a regular basis. We assume Jana wants to court and her parents won't let her. The courtship and weddings of the Duggar girls earn some of the best ratings of the show. I would imagine that the parents are happy to have Jinger's courtship drawing in viewers. After Jinger has been married a while and even if they marry Joy off, they will probably want Jana to get married since so many would be excited to see her get married and watch the show. For a while they've been enjoying Jana's help with the younger kids and all the chores, but those younger kids keep getting older. I think if Jana had someone fundie enough she wanted to court they would say yes. All the son-in-laws seem to come to them (the Duggars) and so it's not JB and Michelle for the most part actively seek out son-in-laws. (Ben and his family met Jessa at church, Derrick contacted Boob as a prayer partner, and Jeremy was introduced to Jinger through Ben and Jessa). The only reason I can see them really wanting her to wait is for storyline purposes. It's Jinger's moment now. Next year or two Jinger will be old news and someone else will need to be courting although it may be Josiah again.
  2. I think both Derrick, the parents and even Jill herself expected was that she would be able to function as an independent adult, even though she had never lived on her own. Jill had helped her parents for years with a lot of the work of raising her sibs and housework. She had the best education from the "School of the Dinning Room Table" and was working towards becoming a lay midwife. I think her expectation was that after taking on so much responsibility at home she was ready to move out and start her family. I think she expected they would stay in Arkansas, maybe near her family. I think she expected to have a lot of little girls since she loved playing with the little girls (kids 16-19) so much. She is good with her Lost Boy buddy, but she seems mostly to prefer the company of women and girls (except Derrick). One thing I think both she and Derrick didn't realize is neither of them have much in the way of social skills. Ben and Jessa seem happier in part for their ability to socialize and make friends. Jill, raised on Gothard, probably didn't think socialization is that important as isn't important in Gothardism. I think she counts on the Duggar name and identity to win friends and influence people and is surprised to see it doesn't mean much to so many people. She also expected to be pregnant much of the time and be able to give birth without all those major complications like she had with Israel. Her mother was pregnant pretty much every year before Josie and she expected to fall in her mother's footsteps. She's probably eating green beans in lieu of French fries as a healthier option and calling them "green french fries" may make them more appetizing to her.
  3. Jill was really annoying. I'm glad others picked up on the whole "he needs a sibling so he knows the world doesn't revolve around him" nonsense. (My cousin has one kid and he is very sweet.) I was annoyed with her smirking at the camera when if she was pregnant, and maybe the smirk was meant to convey a "Well, I might be pregnant since we did it." kind of thing. Despite her smirking, I think she isn't pregnant and that the fact that she's not pregnant is the main source of her unhappiness. She is a Duggar. She is the one who said she wanted to have as many kids as mom and maybe more when she got married (during the conversation with her father before she walked down the aisle). I think she's in complete denial of Zika. She just wants another baby preferably a girl. Jinger is completely juvenile about her significant other. That being said part of me is wondering if the producers want lots of mentions of Jeremy to establish this new character. (This is very common in television writing, mention a new character a lot to interest/familiarize viewers with the character. It's particularly common on soaps, so I could see it used on All My Blessings.)
  4. I liked TN's Obama impression. Swaying to the music is like clapping your hand to music. If you do off-beat or rhythm. Wasn't looking at the screen during the Carson interview the first time, so when he first said "My luggage" I thought he was answering the question "What do you think Trump has taken away from this experience?" Totally laughing at the idea of Trump stealing (taking away) Carson's luggage.
  5. I think Jessa is at least suspicious that she is pregnant, but probably she already knew. if Spurgeon was 8 months old, then she was 2 months along. I imagine she's trying to put a positive spin on it. The one thing their fans don't want to hear is that they actually aren't as happy as they pretend to be. Since she's pregnant, might as well put a good face on it. Producer: Are you pregnant? Jill: Lots of people ask that. (Answer the question! That was annoying.) The Duggars sure have changed. I remember when they could do anything in flip-flops. Thank God they're a little smarter/richer (than when they went to say construction sites in flip-flops.)
  6. I think Judges 2:1 is more of a God is on our side and not yours. It's a literal look-at-how-holy-we-are. It could refer to their marriage, but it also could be a judgment on the rest of us.
  7. Actually the Italian for Jesus is Gesù. So it's more likely the Vuolos will go that route. But I also want to point out that so far all the Duggar girls have claimed they're not doing a letter theme. When Jessa has her baby, we'll see if it's true. Jill might go with a letter theme since even her in-laws had one, and it might help get back the spotlight.
  8. I wouldn't consider Jeremy a particularly Italian name. I doubt there would be pressure to use classic Italian names, but they might be a way to differentiate her kids from her nieces and nephews.
  9. I know all about Duggar modesty. Just pointing out there are other reasons to swim with a shirt.
  10. I agree with the part under the link above. Absolutely Jill thought all the trips her family took, they were world-famous. And now she's not as famous and not as stand-outish since they are family of three. Timeline: Israel was born the beginning of April and in the clip, Jill says he's fourteen months (also known as a year and two months). Two months past April is June. Jessa is due in February of next year, meaning she was probably one month pregnant in June. In my experience, people generally tell close friends and family members (such as their sisters) as soon as they know for sure they're pregnant. (Regardless of whether she's gloating or not). So if Jill found out recently Jessa is pregnant, that might be reason for her to be sulky. Also Derrick does seem to tan somewhat, but swimming in shirts is big among my friends and family who can't tan and worry about sunburn.
  11. Carrie and Big's ending seemed to be perfunctory like the writers were avoiding hate mail. Samantha's cancer was a good-case scenario, but one of my closest friends went through a similar scenario and it rang true to me. One of the best criticisms I ever heard of this show was that we never really know much about Miranda's law career what kind of law Miranda practices. (Some sort of corporate stuff, but it's hard to say.) We know next to nothing about her career and she wanted to make partner in the beginning but this seems forgotten? as a goal. And yes I would watch Miranda and Harry's law firms show. Career choices are all but forgotten? in the end with the only career happy ending being Charlotte's adoption and subsequent stay-home-motherhood?
  12. In order it's Joseph, Josiah, (Joy-Anna) Jedidiah, Jeremiah. So Iah is out too.
  13. Sort of. Jill want to name her daughter that, but if Jessa has the first girl she can use it. I wonder if Selah is common enough in their world that Jessa won't think it's exciting enough. With so many siblings anyway, surely some of the cousins will have the same names. If they want more S biblical S names, there's Susanna, Sarai, to add the list. There seems to be a theory that if the word appears in the bible, and it can be called a biblical name. For example, Sapphire or maybe Salmon or Singer or something along those lines. I'm not sure they'll do a letter theme though.
  14. The leader thing probably refers to the 19 kids they're going to have, but I agree it's weird way to describe a partnership.
  15. Or just not going to take the same risks with her own life. It seemed from what I read that she was there when Jessa gave birth and seemed to be encouraging her to stay at home. It's also home-birth is super trendy. My friends, who are or were nowhere near as fundie as the Duggars (for example they went to college), are talking home births and because I'm their friend it scares me a little. When Michelle was having the first children, it wasn't as trendy. By the end, she was lucky to be alive and having babies. I think if it were up to Jessa she would have good prenatal care and a hospital birth. Unfortunately I think she needs her family to finance it. Maybe if we talk about enough, they will get her a good OB-GYN as an FU to the internet.
  16. Francesca was on MTV before. I think her star will continue to rise. I really enjoyed all the women of the nightly show. Holly, Robin, and Grace (as well as Francesca.) I liked some of the random skits they did. The skit about the overuse of Antibiotics was sooooo funny and so was the banana eating skit. I also found the piece on led poisoning scary, but so important and informative. I wonder if part of this is backlash on Jon Stewart. He was one of the creators. It didn't take off the way they hoped and then he was left the network before the end of the first year. We haven't seen him which suggests he's not involved. ' Larry was the best at calling out the media, since Jon left. Someone should try to call them out more.
  17. I am so sad to see this show go. I feel like crying. If they cancel Larry after a year and a half, watch out Trevor!
  18. I agree with you about Jessa and Ben. I think he likes having son-in-laws that are continuing the family show, but I disagree the Ben and Josiah are the same as Derrick and Jeremy Vuolo. Jeremy and Derrick have college degrees and skills they can fallback on should the show totally fall apart. Jeremy can coach soccer or do something else. Derrick can back to whatever office work he did for Walmart. I think future son-in-laws will follow this trend.
  19. Congrats on the baby! So sorry to here about the troubled birth. Glad you survived. Many thoughts and prayers to you!
  20. Is it possible she was the most nervous to meet Jordan's family in case Aaron miraculously showed up, even though they are estranged?
  21. Dan and his fiance look a happy couple. I wish them well!
  22. I have to say that name got a lot of attention. One of my roommates who doesn't follow the Duggars much commented on it without me bringing it up. It was a name fit for "big celebrities" like the Seewalds.
  23. Old Proverb: The shoemaker's children go barefoot. The doctor's wife die young. And now apparently the "photographer" has no one to take pictures of her and her boyfriend, I mean courting partner. When they're engaged, she can register for a selfie stick and then there will be lots of pictures.
