  1. The way he's standing he's more likely to fall forward and rather than back. It looks dangerous to me, especially for 15 months.
  2. The man bun seems practical if you keep your hair long and live in Central America. A lot of guys I know would be getting a buzz cut just to stay cool. As for them coming home, I think the only doctor they will seek is a some sort of fertility and/or ob/gyn to discover why Jill's not pregnant. I sometimes wonder if she has the same thing Kim K W had after she had her daughter North.
  3. I have been thinking about this post for a while. I agree with most of it and I really liked the shout out to Lucy Ricardo. I also think what is so different about these ladies is that they are all relatively young and of ahem child-bearing age. Older women have always been allowed to be difficult and hard to please, as in the mother-in-law jokes dating back to the fifties. Lucille Bluth owes as much (or more) to Endora on Bewitched as she does to Elaine. If Lucille Bluth is one of the Bluth monstresses, then Emily Gilmore also deserves a shout out. And maybe Lorelai too!
  4. I think of ethnic as people who are non-waspy and maybe have particular nationality, heritage, or culture that the ancestors were from. I, myself, am not a Wasp, but Catholic. I apologize if anyone was offended. I wasn't trying to cause offense. I have many close friends and family who are Italian American. Jeremy has an Italian last name. I don't know how else he identifies, but then we haven't seen much of him. I think we see more of his "Italian" side of his personality when the show starts airing.
  5. And maybe vice versa. If Jeremy can bring up the ratings for J&JCO, then JB will be happy with him. I tend to think JB likes Jeremy more than we know. Two more points:1) Before both the first Josh scandal, the next season of 19KC was going to be about Josiah and Marjorie Jackson's courtship. I personally never had anything against Marjorie, and she seemed like a nice kid to me. But she wore pants, was articulate (especially for this crowd) and seemed in general better educated than any Duggar. She also seemed ambitious and had written a book on her own. She was part-Hispanic (and bilingual, which always impressesme since I only speak one language). In some ways her parents were fundies and friends of the Duggars and she fit in well and in other ways, she was very different than the Duggars. But then Josh happened, and these two broke up. Now Jinger is courting Jeremy, who also is very different from the Duggars. He's better educated. He has done things the Duggars don't like. He also is Italian American (meaning he's more ethnic than most of the people who marry into the Duggars). I think JB has been looking for someone who goes against Duggar conventions for a while, possibly for story-line purposes and to keep interest in the show. As long as they are fundie now, that's what counts. 2) Before any of the girls married, there was episode where they were "answering the viewers' questions" and one of the questions was "what does it take to date one of those Duggar girls?" or something like that. Of course the girls let JB weigh in. He said he was looking for someone who was financially independent and made a certain amount of money. Then time went on and I think JB began to think he would never find someone who made enough money and Ben showed up etc. But then Derrick showed up and and when they met him, he had a good job and probably now has a good fallback career. I think Jeremy having better job prospects outside the Duggar bubble might be endearing to JB.
  6. I actually agree with Noah that Clinton and Trump are each other's best chances. I certainly think Trump being such a nightmare is increasing Hillary's chance. I think there are a lot of people who don't like and never have and will be supporting Hillary and they might vote for Trump. The Daily Show, under Noah, has long made it clear they're supporting Hillary. She's been their favorite for a long time. Noah says he's a progressive not a liberal and I think Bernie was too liberal for him. Noah seemed to think Bernie was an out-of-touch old man telling fairy tales. As a Bernie supporter and a Hillary supporter, I have been disappointed that so much of their coverage has been biased against him. For months, they ignored him until it was clear he was going to lose. (Side note: I think Stewart would have been way more pro-Bernie than Noah was. I can't prove it of course. I saw did see Stewart talking about Hillary a few months ago and it was not particularly kind or flattering.) This show has been mocking Trump and calling out Trump on a long list of issues for the better part of all the time they've been on the air (since Noah took over.) I like Hillary and I don't want (and won't vote for) Trump. That being said, I think the segment about the emails was valid. I think that as a comedy show with interest in political satire has to work with what is around them. Larry made an interesting point when he pointed out MSNBC (and not Faux news) was leading the email-coverage. I don't think Noah was trying to imply Hillary is the same as Trump, I think he meant to say the election is hopeless. Anyone watching this show knows Noah and the show can't stand Trump. As someone who watches the show, the context I guess is different. Less than 2 months back they did a piece where Michelle Wolf staunchly defended Hillary on her email server. (The episode was May 26, 2016). I recommend this episode to people who didn't like Wednesday's.
  7. My favorite is Monica's actual wedding dress. I think Yes the maternity selection in dresses would be incredibly limited and even more so twenty years ago.
  8. Some of the girls can do laundry. And they know about bankruptcy law! What more do you need to know?
  9. I was off the forum for about a week and this courtship happened (or started happening?)! Not sure what to think yet. Does anyone watch the Bachelorette? Jeremy Vuolo reminds me of Josh Murray, Andi Dorfman's F1. He was an ex-baseball player and very defined by that role even though he was less successful (at baseball) than Jeremy(is at soccer) and not active in the sport. Jeremy seems a little out of shape (judging by the courtship announcement) for a professional athlete, but I can't really tell. In the video where he talks to Jason on his birthday he quotes 2nd Corinthians 3:17, the same verse Trump was quoting when he said "2 Corinthians". That being said Jeremy doesn't seem all bad to me. She may get to live in a city. He has a college degree and a high school diploma, which are assets in the world and for this family. He may be able to coach soccer. So he might have a few options on careers. I don't really know if they're a good match yet. I'm sure he's too fundy for me, but then so are the Duggars.
  10. Larry's last line last night from his opening speech was powerful, but I don't remember the whole thing. One of my closest friends is LGBT and has been so affected by the fact it was a gay club even though they don't know anyone who died there. I also was glad during the panel they mentioned that almost everyone who died if not everyone was Hispanic. I think that was so important, because there seems to have been a racist mentality against Hispanics.
  11. I know it's a tv series, and whatnot but I was just upset with the whole dead Archer thing. TBF, things have been a little stressful for me, but I watch this show because it's fun, and seeing a major character dead is not really fun IMO. This show reminds me of shows like Psych which a lot of people don't watch all the time but tune occasionally to enjoy it. So maybe re-run/syndication numbers are better. Maybe Archer will/can be a cyborg like Barry and Katya?
  12. I've seen the show, but not this episode. It seems like today that yes there would be more points of view particularly from Rose and Sophia. I will look for the episode. When talking about gay cops on tv, Will's longtime partner and eventual husband Vince was a cop on Will & Grace.
  13. The old mantra is dress for the job you want, not the one you have. We know when Jessa was courting Ben, that was considered a "job" or at least it got her out of her chores. Jana is dressing for the job she wants next "a courting woman". Also to appeal the millions of DDlike men visiting the Duggar Facebook page. Or maybe she just likes to look nice, and since the littles are growing up, she has more time.
  14. My best guess is that the little girl in the bottom of the nine photos is a Seawald and one of Ben's sisters. He is the oldest of seven kids and they look alike. She doesn't look like any of the Duggar daughters somehow. Derrick posted 25 things he likes about Jill for her 25th birthday. Jessa would only need 21 things, since it's Ben's 21st birthday. Wonder if they got a drink? (Probably not, but maybe just for show or the show or whatever!
  15. Which category does we want Jill to have another baby and Israel is 13 months and why aren't you pregnant yet fall into? It could be almost any of them with the exception of Izzy is sick.
  16. Tuesday's game did seem weak. I believe the time had gone out by the time Lara said the thing about sports. I, too, was offput by that. I find it a tactless to bring it up just out of the blue.... Hopefully he vetted it with her. I liked both of the ladies on Jeopardy. I liked their charities. Cupp was playing for hungry children and Lara for embattled journalists. (Not the formal names of the charities, just the causes.) The way Alex asked Cupp about religion it sounded to me like he was hinting at the demise of Christianity, but I can't be sure. I too would have answered that way. According to Wikipedia, Cupp is both a conservative pundit and an atheist (although it she "is open to theism"). As a nonreligious person, she may not be familiar with religion or have much of an interest in it, while having to defend her atheist views to other conservatives. Jonathan Franzen's latest book has an evil feminist character who makes a man pee sitting down. All of the feminists I know have a "live and let live" policy on bathrooms.
  17. Wednesday's show was my favorite of the week. It was so informative! I liked everything including the queen, the Trumps of other countries, the information about West Virginia, Nate Silver and his theories and stuff he knows. Everything except the MoZ. Thursday was great too, but I thought "Third World Trevor" was a little on the nose for a random generator.
  18. My favorite piece of the week was the one on Monday's show with the Antibiotic and Resistant Strain. I was laughing so hard and so were my friends. I also liked the banana piece.
  19. Weird Al and Rachael Harris are two of my favorite panelists of all time.
  20. I loved Roy's line and bit during the rap segment after Trevor read Trump's comments "That's cause you were reading it in your Australian accent."
  21. I thought Chris was closer in age to Larry, which is technically true. Trevor is 32, Chris is 44 and Larry is 54. Chris and Larry will be 45 and 55 at the end of the year. I can't see this happening. A mock sports show could be cute. I don't think Chris wants to do a show that is as serious as either Nightly/Daily. I think you would have to rename the Nightly Show, since it now has a certain vibe. I can't see any of the hosts being happy with it, even Larry.
  22. The kid is almost a year old now ( he will be in a couple of days). In her world, that would be a long time between pregnancies especially between a first and second child. Then again I thought she looked kinda pregnant on her show on the episodes they filmed in November.
  23. I get why people think it costs more than $10.52. You would have to purchase a jar of her powder to put in the smoothie. If you can't buy a jar that less than $17.00 dollars then the actual price of the smoothie should include having to buy the entire jar to make at home since they probably won't sell you the teaspoon of the stuff that cost $4.50 for a teaspoon.
