I worry about Gary and Cate’s weight, but Amber is also going to put herself at risk over time by being on the couch so much (I say this as a couch potato myself but I do go to a job everyday and try to get out and walk around). I doubt she gets much physical activity (I’ll bet she didn’t move much to make the baby) which will not be good for her heart. Surgery isn’t going to fix that. Hopefully the baby won’t suffer. Gary is big but at least he’s somewhat active on his land. Cate, well, I don’t know.

I couldn’t believe the part where Nicole’s friend said that he went to Nicole’s grave to yell at her. He’s sick. I really hope he lands back in jail, which is too good for him. I know he’s their father, but I don’t know how any of his kids could support him in any way. From watching the documentaries, the jurors said his acquittal (aside from mistakes by the prosecution) were payback for Rodney King and other injustices by law enforcement, but I can’t forgive that. That didn’t make things right or equal. I was in college at the time, and I could not take part in the cheers because it made no sense to me. The “Charlie” thing was really strange.

Watching Evil Lives here on Derek Campos. I’m having a difficult time feeling sympathy for the mother. There are so many things she should have done. No doubt Derek is a psychopath, but she contributed through her inaction and lack of parenting. He should have been evaluated, why did she let her ex take over the discipline, why did she allow Derek to stay in HER house once he got a gun with the baby??? I feel like something is really off with the mom. I don’t want to see children in the system but I don’t think she should’ve gotten custody of her grandchild. She even mistakenly called her grandson Derek. She’s not right. I hope someone with authority watched this show. I hope that Social Services is keeping tabs on this woman.

Were they told it was a march but really an open casting set up by TLC production for all their new shows?

On the one hand, in light of the Turpins, you want people to bring up potential abuse and say something if they see something. On the other hand, unless the family is completely delusional, they would probably have some awareness of their abusive behavior and not invite homeless people into their home for their lives to be on display if they had something to hide unless they thought the woman would be so grateful she wouldn’t tell, but that’s a stretch. The only thing I get from this is not to invite homeless people living in tents in the field across the street to live with you. No good deed and all...

She’s mentioned it way before this in talking about how it makes her eyes bug out...she should not be dishing out medical advice though. Maybe if she goes away for a little while (you know she’s not letting anyone take her purple chair), she’ll come back better because lately it hasn’t been good, not even just for tuning in for the hot topics.

What was that today? The husband had exposed himself to the mom (who likely participated) multiple times AND the younger sister? Where was Doctor Creepy from family services, not that he really adds much, but what about Dr Phil being a mandated reporter? The little sister was a minor when that happened. Is that not abuse? Instead of counseling to fix the marriage because they have children and lord forbid Dr Phil recommends immediate divorce, this episode should’ve been 10 mins and they could’ve dedicated the rest of the episode to Robin’s snake oil, which I would avoid because her eyes get closer to each other every episode. The husband should’ve been in cuffs. How much more evidence did the wife need? I feel like lately there is such a lack of conclusion/closure. It’s veering into Springer territory. The stalker woman from last week seemed like there was more going on than just arthritis meds. She’d been “hospitalized” before. I agree, I need to see update receipts on that one before I’m convinced she’s not crazy.

Do they also get more TLC $ if they make more appearances?

I’m trying with 2 Dope Queens, but I think I’m too old. I don’t get it. Maybe the podcast is better. I gave up This Is Us this season. It was too “very special episode” every episode.

Is TLC trying to find the replacement for this show? Every other commercial is about polygamists. So most of the bros wore actual pants but not FT? He could barely walk in those jeans, but maybe that’s his usual limited movement. With all the other tacky going on (that arch), the bridesmaids’ dresses weren’t awful. It was just thoughtless to make everyone sit in the cold. The cake with the fork just gross. Use the knife and get a plate! That dance was horrendous! It’s like he knew one move then throw/hurl...not even Latin, like a bad swing step that took “swing” too literally. They all keep saying how perfect he is and how he gets her, but what do they think of her? I would honestly be insulted, like it’s a joke Mykelti took too far to spite them.

I know they put a ton of work into the flowers, but they still looked tacky. Since that’s what she wanted, those bouquets are available on a lot of the Chinese mfg trading sites. While you’re not paying for the family labor, it does end up expensive if you consider the opportunity costs of everyone’s time in assembling them. Time that could’ve been spent planning other things, on family “businesses,” kids reading or playing, making strange casseroles, etc.

Who actually subscribes to Nobleman? I can see it in a doctor’s office waiting room like the other LA magazines full of ads for steakhouses and travertine...
