  1. Hence why it didn't win! ;) I'd agree that La La Land wasn't actually the usual Oscar bait movie (unlike, say The King's Speech which was the epitome of Oscar bait) or at least the type of film that actually wins Oscars and neither was Moonlight.
  2. Jamie Dornan must be frustrated that any "serious actor" cred he might have built up with The Fall has been completely wiped out by the Fifty Shades trilogy.
  3. I've had that on My List on netflix for a while but I haven't gotten around to it yet. My heart still belongs to Robb (RIP) on GOT. *SWOON*
  4. Ha! That hair didn't help and it was disconcerting to see him without a beard after so long on GOT, but how could you not be enchanted by how blue his eyes were in the film?
  5. https://img.buzzfeed.com/buzzfeed-static/static/2017-02/27/2/asset/buzzfeed-prod-fastlane-03/anigif_sub-buzz-11821-1488182195-1.gif?output-format=mp4 Here is the exact moment he realized that they hadn't really won. It must be hard to have such a humiliating moment become part of the public consciousness like this.
  6. Audience reactions. I don't know which is my favorite -- Meryl, Ryan or John Legends "wut" face.
  7. I think Cinderella made a good choice in mostly cutting out the talking mice. They're still in there, but they don't speak or wear clothes.
  8. The "feud" continues! In spite of Jimmy's moment of "healing" by reaching out to Matt lol
  9. You were resentful towards a whole film? Haha I'm can't exactly judge since I feel the same about Lin Manuel Miranda. I was so happy when he lost. I love Hamilton and In the Heights but I'm so tired of hearing about him.
  10. Now that Pasek and Paul have won an Oscar, if they win a Tony and Grammy for Dear Evan Hansen (and from the reviews I've read they have a good chance) they'll be 3/4 of the way to an EGOT. I am aware that they are separate people, but they do like to work together. Speaking of Dear Evan Hansen, Ben Platt is probably happy that Sunday in the Park (and by extension Jake G) have withdrawn from Tony consideration.
  11. I can't imagine how they must be feeling. How embarrassing and awful. That said, now I absolutely have to see Moonlight -- I heard so many good things about it and I was hoping if La La Land (the only BP film I've seen so far) didn't win that they would.
  12. Wow, the La La Land people must be crushed right now. Now they know how that Miss Colombia (I think) felt when Steve Harvey made that fateful mistake. I loved LLL but damn, now I really MUST see Moonlight!
  13. I still haven't seen Manchester by the Sea but from what I've read, Casey deserved it. But his sexual harassment stuff just really taints it.
  14. That title change..nnnoooooo. I'm happy for the makeup and hair people (though Star Trek had better makeup imo), but CRINGE.
  15. Yay City of Stars won!! It's still a win for Broadway, with Pasek and Paul having written the lyrics.
  16. I hope they do win the Oscar -- I love City of Stars! I'd love to see Dear Evan Hansen, Waving Through a Window is a great song.
  17. I'm an easy shipper, but I do have some favorites Ian and Mickey (Shameless) -- proof that there is no such thing as too much angst (did they ever get to just be happy for more than 2 scenes?). You'd think Mickey would be the dominant one in that relationship (once it actually became a relationship) but Ian had Mickey wrapped around his finger. Matt and Julie (FNL) -- he was much too good for her, but clearly she had sense if she chose him. Tami and Eric (FNL) -- obviously. Couples that I did like at one time Owen and Cristinia (Grey's) -- I liked them up until well, their break up. After him cheating on her and accusing her of murdering his baby I was out. Liv and Jake (Scandal) -- I liked them but they were never going to be endgame, and the show dragged it out until it was dead and then continued to drag it out. I've disliked most central pairings but I can't think of all of them rn Castle and Beckett (Castle) -- I liked them better as friends and I stopped watching when the show started pushing them to actually happen Ichabod and Abbie (Sleeping Hollow) -- technically never happened and I stopped watching the show back in season 1, but I liked them better as friends and dreaded when the show would inevitably put them together
  18. I was confused as to why they didn't just go with getting out on parole/probation for Mickey to come back to the show in later seasons. Presumably that was why his dad was always in and out their lives? Coming out on probation, then promptly breaking it again and getting sent back.
  19. I'll be honest, Mickey is much hotter in the UK series (no offense to Noel Fisher.) And I felt like Steve/Jimmy came off much better in the UK version, probably because the character was gone by the end of season 2 with Fiona so we didn't have to see any weird Estefania storyline in the UK version.
  20. I went back and read the thread from the beginning and was surprised that no one mentioned Ian/Mickey from Shameless. Even when the show's quality dropped (pretty steeply and it was never the greatest to begin with) in season 5, their story was a highlight. I did read comments calling their relationship dysfunctional, but since it was Shameless where everyone is royally fucked up it made sense to me. Mickey's journey from self-loathing to being able to casually call himself Ian's boyfriend in 4 seasons was amazing to watch. Seeing straight-laced(ish) Ian have the neighborhood thug wrapped around his finger was never not great. Not to mention the whole exchange with his dad after he comes out (and his father predictably tries to kill him) is hilarious. But I hated how the show ended up ending the relationship. I thought they deserved a much better break up than one they got. Awful. And don't get me started on the whole "Mickey escapes prison for Mexico" storyline in season 7. I sat through the entire first season (and like half of the second one) of How to Get Away with Murder for Conner/Oliver before they ruined that.
  21. I like Ed Sheeran's Shape of You video. The girl he had in it has such a striking face. And she's asian! Well, half-asian but a POC is always appreciated.
  22. I'm pretty sure when the first FSOG came out, Matt Bomer had just recently collected his Golden Globe for The Normal Heart so he lucked out, clearly.
  23. What about Shameless (US)? I think the couple who live next door are interracial (black woman/white man).
  24. Why is it that Chris Wood can be so fun and charismatic as Kai but so meh as Mon-El?
