For the most part I have agreed with Kelli about who got selected/cut at auditions - with the exception of the past 2 years. It's really unsettling what the dancers are put to in an 8 week audition process: anxiety, egg shell walking, and stuffing down normal human emotions for what you think you need to do to keep your head above DCC waters.

I think what was the tipping point for me was what happened to Jaylyn. As most people have mentioned , she reacted very professionally, and it was Kelli who watched Jaylyn's every move post announcement of show group - trying to 'catch her' in a behavior she could throw in her face. Well, there never was one. (Please announce show group during a break or at the end of practice...give them time to process)

So much has been said about Victoria...I will try to keep it brief. Last year's shenanigans could have been COMPLETELY avoided, had they gracefully cut her after a few weeks. (even for just weight alone) It would have spared her the embarrassment of being called out for weight gain, etc. Victoria's maturity level falls completely on her family and upbringing...very sad she was sacred to tell her mom about cut. (from last year) That speaks volumes. Kelli is also to blame. A lot. She should have spoken with both Victoria and her mother that Victoria auditioning would bring about a heightened observation about her. Kelli should have publicly held Victoria to a HIGHER standard than the other girls. By favoring her, she has made the other girls on team cautious and resentful about Victoria...actually robbing Victoria of real, genuine relationships with her teammates. I do think Victoria looks great this year and earned her way on the team. But.....Kelli's 'edit' of Victoria's narrative, has again backfired. There is NO WAY she is the best dancer on team (Travis Wall's credibility went out the window for me with that comment) and although I think she is good for a DCC dancer (look, style, nice figure), I do not think she should have gotten show group. I also saw obvious errors in her dancing that was never called out. I don't agree she 'stole' Jaylyn's spot (as some have speculated), as Jaylyn is one of the best dancers on the whole dam team....Jaylyn got robbed because of some petty grievance with Kelli. End of story. (for the record, I also think Erin should have made show group over some others)

There is a lot more I could get into....I really admire the girls for putting up with so much to 'live this dream'. I don't think I could put up with it. (it feels like an 8 week hazing) My adrenal glands would be shot!

I like a lot of the dancers for very different reasons...I feel Hannah, Jaylyn, Gina, and Amber are the strongest dancers (although Rachel W is also strong), and I also like Erin, Brennan, Heather, both Rachels, and Christina. (I feel badly she gets  a lot of negative feedback here...she looks good this season)

About me....I am a full time ballet teacher and choreographer. Am also a costume designer. Don't want to say much more than that! 

I completely agree with everything you said. 

For me too, the treatment of Jalyn was a breaking point. I too do not want to blame Victoria for Jalyn's demotion from SG. It is Kelli's abuse of power and her handing out punishment as the judge, jury and executioner for something Jalyn did that is really gut wrenching and unjust.

I will miss seeing Jalyn next year, because Jalyn's tough but not stupid

I guess it could be annoying or obnoxious to some people. I guess I feel like these girls are so excited to be wearing that uniform for the first time officially and are becoming immortalized in history so they are probably thrilled to pose with their Choreographer’s grandchildren.  Most of the DCCs seems like the kind of sweet, kind, charitable people who, like me, don’t find young children obnoxious.

♥️.♥️.♥️.♥️.♥️.♥️.   I do think every one of them did deserve to make the team.

I'm happy Charlotte decided 37 was fine.  No mention of anyone being an alternate.

This was one of the best team announcements I think we have heard.

Can you elaborate? I just got home and apparently just missed the announcement when I switched on the TV

which I guess means the 36 on the field are the ones who get paid. Charolotte did keep saying only 36 could be on the field.

So that means alternate ( and next season we will see how large/number can that nbr be) who stay in the locker room, sideline, or in the stands , un-suited up for the game, is fine.

so that means Kat was nbr 35 , an Lily and Meridth was 36 and 37.

Kat outdanced Lily ???

After speaking with Lily and Meredith in her office, k&J went out to talk to the rest of the squad who thought they’d both been cut. Then Kelli said turn and look around and lily and Meredith came running out to the field and all the other girls ran towards them and mobbed them with hugs. It was pretty cute.

Thoughts:

Charlotte commenting on Lisa's fantastic abs, saying she'd never seen abs like that. What? She never noticed Lauren?

I cried when they told Lily she was on the team. She just broke down, bless her heart!

Is it my imagination, but is Meredith's vocal fry less pronounced? Maybe Kelli has her working with a speech-language specialist.

Is that what Shannon Gross does? I could do a better job keeping the team's social media updated and I've basically only had "on the job" and "hands on" training.  LOL

Somebody please buy Kat a pair of dance tights!  Multiple times she’s photographed or caught on camera with a run or tear in them.  I would think those would be supplied as part of the uniform.
