I watched the other day when they were talking about the Randy Travis DUI video being released. They laughed and made fun of him for so long that I started to get uncomfortable. Especially the jokes about how he should never drive again. I say that because he probably won't be able to physically after surviving that massive stroke that left him in such rough condition. Last time I saw him on TV outside of that video he could barely sing, still had slurred speech and needed help to walk.

Surprisingly Sharon wasn't cracking jokes about it. Sheryl could've saved her joke about his package (or whatever term she used) not being all that impressive. I didn't know he'd had a stroke and it would've helped if the producers had given the hosts that piece of info before they talked about it.

Speaking of jokes that could've been saved, Sharon's about Matt Lauer's hand smelling and wondering what his golf club smells like was repulsive. Blech.

I thought it was interesting that Denis Leary had the same opinion of Matt Lauer as me ... sleazy & creepy.  (Sharon saying he smelled his fingers was a bit on the gross side, but it's Sharon, so ... )

And now Mario Batali from The Chew and Tavis Smiley are the latest sleazy creeps getting caught out. All the others who are guilty might as well out themselves, because they'll be caught out too.

*said like Wendy* What in the Cabbage Patch Kids was up with Sheryl's look today?

I don't know, there's something particularly satisfying knowing there are still lecherous assholes out there shaking in their boots, jumping every time the phone rings, thinking this may be the time the shit hits the fan.

I'm noticing the "new lady" claps (like a seal) for everything.  Just a bit ridiculous-looking.

Haha, I noticed too. Sometimes she catches herself and stops, though, so she's aware it looks dumb.

Also, she repeats stories. She told the story that she was referred to as The Grinch two days in a row this week.

I thought it was kind of sad that Sheryl's "boyfriends" told her she shouldn't go without wig or makeup. Then she tried to turn it into a positive, when it really isn't.

Actually, I've always thought Sheryl clapped like a "church lady" ... very subtle & quiet.  Just sayin'.

Yeah, she's gotten better about that, because I remember her clapping like a wind-up doll to every other thing anyone at the table. Now she saves that for when she finds out an old show is getting a reboot or a hot male celebrity is single.

I've never watched Jane the Virgin, but I enjoyed Gina Rodriguez's interview. Seems like a sweet girl and I liked her rapport with Eve and Hilary Duff.

Aren't they showing reruns until January?

Yes, but there is no reason they could  not  have worked a half week this week. Instead they took the whole week. So 3 full  weeks off  before they return. That's long enough for me to start finding something else to do during their timeslot.lol

As show began, guest host Carne Wilson. Sadly the redheaded bitch walked out. Eve was missing . Right off the bat Julie says that Eve was not allowed on her flight from London. She will be on tomorrow to tell why she wasn't  allowed on. I wanna know now! Lol

I found this on her Twitter page: https://twitter.com/therealeve?lang=en.

It was nice seeing Carnie. I wonder if TPTB ever offered her a full time spot and she decided to turn it down. Hmm...

Now why didn't I think of that? Lol Probably because I don't do "the Twitter" as Lt. Provenza would say.

Hee. I didn't either. I put her in Google to see if anything would pop up about it and clicked on the link to her Twitter page when I didn't find anything. I don't use Twitter either. I got an account about 8 years ago, tweeted one person and haven't been on it since. Don't use Instagram or Snapchat either.

Angela Bassett is not only a talented actress (I LOVE the scene in WLGTDWI where Tina fights back and kicks Ike's ass!), but she's a very gorgeous woman. I looked up her age and was surprised to read she's turning 60 this year.

Carnie Wilson speaking about make-up artist, Kevyn Aucoin today.  It's still feels unreal he is gone.  He was the cousin of a friend of mine in Lafayette, La.  Carnie was saying he used some sort of device to pluck out her eyebrows and they never grew back, which she wasn't happy about, but you could see she still had eyebrows.  It made me wonder how 'full' were her eyebrows before that now she doesn't think she has any.

I'm sorry about your loss, Tenarife. As for Carnie, I thought she said her eyebrows eventually grew back, but they weren't as full.

Eve has nothing to worry about. She looks just fine without the makeup.

Eve looks younger, without the makeup. The same for Julie.  Mrs O and Carnie are very pale, without the makeup.  They must stay out of the California sun because they have nice, porcelain, skin.. I think Cheryl would look better, by letting, her hair go natural.. I love it when she wears her afro wigs..  Some Black women look so much better and youthful with their natural hair.  Tamara, from the real, looks so beautiful and youthful, with her natural hair.  I love how Julie is so supportive of Eve... I still miss Aisha..

I prefer to go makeup free. The ladies look fine. Is it the cameras and lights   that make their faces look so shiny and oily?

Was Sharon's comment about being threatened by someone she worked with at The Talk aimed at Leah? I had to laugh with disbelief when she said she hated bullies. Just as I do when both her and Sheryl discuss sexual harassment  with a straight face.

She does look younger without it. Speaking of Tamera, I'm loving her natural hair this season as well.

Aaw, I still miss Aisha too. Especially her thoughts on the sexual harassment issue. Hopefully she'll drop and guest host sometime.

I caught that and was surprised she said it was on someone on the show rather than her usual vague "someone I used to work with *hint, hint*". Maybe if Sharon hadn't called Leah's family "lowlifes" and compared them to the Mafia Leah wouldn't have threatened to knock her upside the head with a glass...

I notice that she likes to bash Leah a lot.  There is always some comment about her.  She is so classless. Sarah and Julie have never alluded to Leah or Holly.. They remain professional. I wonder if Sarah speaks to them on the low. I have a feeling that Sheryl has encountered Holly at some point. Holly was very popular back in the day and I could see Sheryl treating her with warmth and respect..

I remember seeing Holly in the audience of an award show about a year after she was fired and Sheryl was one of the presenters. I don't know if their paths crossed there, but I wouldn't be surprised if they have at some other point. I don't know if I mentioned this before, but in her book Leah mentioned seeing Julie passing by her dressing room when she was filming another show at CBS and she said they shared an awkward hug and brief conversation, but she was glad to let go of the anger she'd been holding on to.

Not able to watch live yesterday or today. I just caught yesterday's show on demand. I was so bored I was surprised that I managed to watch the entire show. I was glad that I did because Preacher Lawson was very funny. I had never heard of him before.

Is your weather bad too, Mikita? We've got snow and sleet (which we rarely get around here) and the power went out so I missed today's show when it aired, but watched it on demand. It was pretty good.

Good luck to whoever has to eat Sharon's creation tomorrow. Something tells me eye of newt and toe of frog are involved...

We have cold weather McRae. But I haven't been able to watch live this week due to work. Laughed my butt off at Shery'ls comment during the talk about everyone going to the Olypics except for whatever her name was. She knew everyone on the list except for two people. " who the hell is( I can't remember the names lol)". Laughed and rewound twice.

Thanks for the answers. I suspected that would be the case. I watched one segment of 50 Cent's interview and turned it off. Don't care for him or Sharon fawning over him.

On the flipside, I loved Hugh Jackman's interview. Not only is he sexy as all hell (that body and that accent do thangs to me!), he seems like such a sweet, down to earth man.

O'shay Jackson was really cool as well.  He looks so much like his dad, a lighter version of him..lol He is so earnest and humble about his craft. I hope that he has a long future in Hollywood..

I would have preferred to see her singing. I think her "evolution" is gonna be more comical than serious.

It was and it was fun to watch. I like the goofy side of the Chenbot.

Jenifer Lewis had me rollin' today with her funny, sassy self. I had no idea she had a book out until today and from what I've read about it online it's pretty juicy.

But isn't that the same as the co-worker going on to bigger and better things saying "Of course we'll keep in touch!"

To be fair, I think that Aisha is busy with her new life.  She had had too many things going on and needed to quit the show.   However, I  think that she keeps in touch with Julie and Sharon.  She really bonded with those two, for different reasons.   Perhaps, she will shoot  Sarah, a text, once in a while, to touch base, with her. The red-headed clown, I think not..lol  Aisha knew that Sharon hated her and they were just colleagues, nothing more and nothing less.. Aisha also knew that Julie had her back, so, she was safe from Sharon's influence to affect her position on the show.

I thought she would be filling in every once of a while when someone was absent.

Hopefully she will in a few months if her schedule allows it. Girl stays working.

What Quincy Jones said was stupid and not funny, but Sharon was idiotic claiming he's a legend in his own mind. Someone needs to school her that Quincy's been doing his thing since long before Ozzy bit off a bat's head and peed on national monuments. I loved seeing Sara and Sheryl shut her down (mildly, of course) on that.

I'd never seen Helen Mirren being interviewed before but enjoyed her appearance today. I thought she'd be stuffy for some reason, but she was fun.

I also think that working so hard helps her deal with her divorce. She loved that man something terrible.. It was really moving the day that she announced their divorce.  It was one of the few times that I was truly shocked..

Sharon was very nasty about him. He put his foot in his mouth, Sharon who is the queen of that, should have been more understanding.  Everybody told her nicely that she was dead wrong about Quincy Jones, even Julie..

I still feel for Aisha. Yes, she really loved her husband, based on the positive things she said about her husband and her marriage, not just on this show, but in her book, in multiple interviews, and on her podcast.

Or even if Sharon thought Quincy Jones's words were deplorable, which is her right, she sounds idiotic by saying he's a music legend/icon in his own mind. Even if she doesn't know who he is or isn't familiar with his music, that doesn't make him any less important. Just shut up, Sharon.
