I don't understand why Linda made alllllll the pies instead of a single tester, or why they were so big instead of individual serving, or or or...

I mean I know Bob is the chef. And blah blah blah hijinx, but come on restaurant owner who doesn't understand the repercussions of wasting that much inventory. It prevented me from finding it funny.

Sweet potato fries, when made right (and with a good garlic aoli) are amazing. When made wrong, they're terrible. While normal fries, even wrong they're still pretty good (except crinkle fries can GTFO)

I will take crinkle cut over steak fries any day.

Nick Offerman is the perfect person to play an aged former radio DJ bitter about the industry changing.

Bob is normally so chill, its always funny to me when he gets super charged up about something. "Wait until the scary man is gone."

Sweet potato fries can be good, but they have to be made really well, usually with some extra garlic or something. I am a bit of a french fry traditionalist, I admit.

I finally got around to watching this episode online.  I was with Bob all the way.  I'm not a big fan of 'trendy' stuff.  Either it's something I think is awful, or I like it--which is a problem, since because it's trendy it'll be gone soon and I won't be able to get more of whatever it was.  I love sweet potatoes, but only in a pie with sugar, eggs, vanilla, nutmeg, cinnamon, etc. (I don't think a sweet potato pie without sugar or cinnamon--and whatever else Linda forgot--would be bad, unless she substituted some bad-tasting ingredients, just very bland) or just baked, peeled and mashed up with butter and a little salt.

Have we seen the Belcher family go bowling before?  I would have liked to see how they each bowl.

I hated that mile run so much. Now it's no problem for me. That's getting old for ya. I was certainly the Large Tommy of my class. The animation for Jimmy Jr. running was fantastic.

I love Bob talking to his phone, and the phone not liking its nickname.

That tension of calling for Cake tickets is just like New York Comic Con all over again (coincidentally enough, badges go on sale on Sunday...) I got SEVERELY frustrated at Teddy (who could blame Bob here?) but at least Bob got to see the show. Gotta love that.

I literally gasped with pride at Louise riding her big-girl bike. And while I usually don't like Tina in competition mode, Jimmy Jr. deserves to have his ego deflated. I love that he's an even weirder runner than Tina.

I like that Courtney was back.

It's nice that they're filling out Gene's friends now, since for so long it was really only the girls who had friend circles. Courtney's annoying but can be sweet, and while I didn't like Alex in his first appearance, I love Thomas Middleditch. Gene and Alex make such a sweet little team. I also thought it was great that they chose Large Tommy from an existing background character instead of a new design.

I was rooting so hard for Tina to beat Jimmy, Gene to get his ice cream after finishing the mile, and Louise to not drop her ice cream while biking one-handed. Which is a testament to the writers of this episode. I was even happy to see Bob at the theater in the closing credits!

I love this show.

Uggg those mile runs in elementary school were the worst! I love whenever the kids come up with super elaborate schemes, usually to get stuff or get out of it, and I love that they're extending Genes friend group more.

Amazingly, Jimmy Jr. is an even weirder runner than Tina is!

I totally get why Bob was pissed, tickets like those are super hard to get, and when you finally get that call, you take it damn it! Bring a charger! At least Bob got to see the show, and of course the hot tickets that Bob wants so badly are for a patty cake show.

"You want a hit of this?" "Nah, gonan stay angry."

I like how Rudy is a fairly timid kid but always ends up in their schemes.

He wants to LIVE, and the Belcher kids give him that outlet. I love that he gets so impressed over vanilla. (Me too, Rudy. Me too.)

Also, I wonder just how much of this episode was created as buildup for that Desperately Seeking Susan joke?

I can't stand Teddy. I can count on probably two fingers how many times I thought Teddy was okay.

J Ju totally deserved everything that Tina gave him. What a jerk.

Tina, even though you run funny, you go girl.

Yay for Louis riding a big girl bike. Is that going to be a permanent thing now?

It sure was. I think it changed from awkward to really weird and awkward. And I never fail to be amused at how Tina's arms stay right by her side when she walks or runs.

Teddy didn't get a ticket. He was just trying to help.

Going by the end credits, Teddy did end up getting the tickets (and of course giving them to Bob, as was the plan).

I don't know if this was new, but I noticed a store on the way to the ice cream place called You Auto Know.

I think the point was, Teddy wasn't doing it out of self-interest; he was just trying to help. Of course, he fucked up that helping (though was ultimately successful), and he didn't have to insert himself into the situation at all.

Yeah, love that buying the pipe counted for all the kid's birthday gifts.

"We own this now!"

"I thought you wanted to be Janet Jackson when you grow up? We both do."

"A free bird fixes everything."
"And that is what the song Freebird is about."

Gene, as always, was on fire with the one liners.

Colleen really was the best fit for PTA Treasurer. She actually knew how to budget. I knew Joanne was corrupt (as corrupt as a PTA president can be) when she kept flashing that badge. I felt like this episode was pretty meh, lots of low stakes where you'd think only Linda would care about anything. Hell, the bird plot just ended with everyone just running off after leaving birds behind.

I liked Linda got her own plot, and I liked that she did the right thing. I was worried she was going to go in with the corruption. I liked that Colleen started off being annoying but was actually right in the end.

"Into the Spider Hearse"

That Joanne sure did game the system, and she could manipulate like nobody's business! Glad that Linda did the right thing, and even Coleen helped out, even if she was a stick in the mud about it. "Why is Coleen in a shark costume" "Linda thought it would add more drama." "It did..." I hope we see more of Linda at the PTA, I think that she and Coleen would actually make a good team. Coleen can do the budget, and Linda can deal with people and brainstorm.

"So this is what it looks like when someone listens to moms ideas."

I could have sworn I heard a parrot in the first scene when Teddy is working the dishwasher. I didn't even know a bird figured into the show. But when I played it back it was just Teddy grunting.

Linda: I'll see ya later, crocodiles.

Not really too much to say about this except that I'm glad Linda did the right thing, even swallowing her pride in order to call Colleen.

Sand on the floor was a ridiculous idea. Cool in concept, but impractical.

I liked the names of the various stores. The Grapes of Wine, John's Wick, Across the Furnish Line.

What's wrong with you, Tina? Now you want to push Zeke away to have Jimmy Jr. all to yourself, when Zeke is totally the better option. It's endgame, and he knows it. Zeke and J-Ju are ugly crying and all she wanted was for them to separate. Sigh. I did like how the kids managed to pull of the caper, though.

"Like he had good intentions but Steve'd it up." As a Steve, this hit pretty hard. I wasn't really on Bob's side, but I liked that he yelled about loving to take the role of Death, and keeping the robe because he's never had a robe.

"Is it a corporate ladder? 'Cause I'm gonna climb that son of a bitch!" Gene was, again, a delight.

Arnold was a great addition to the team, I hope he shows up more.

See you in the fall, folks! It's been a good one.

Seriously, I'm getting sick of this Jimmy Jr bullshit with Tina. Good for her for having the plan at the end, but still. He's a fucking douchebag. He doesn't even have that nice of an ass.

Bob, you took the money. Nothing wrong with that. The guy wasn't damaging the restaurant or anything. Stop complaining. My favorite plots are with the kids anyway, and this felt like, 'we need a b plot so let's give Bob and Linda something to do.' You really don't need the b plot.

I like the whole Breakfast Club vibe with the kids.

Was the karate kid new? I don't remember him before. I did like how they all were like, "we'll have pocket sized Rudy do it!"

Frond is SUCH a busybody.

Tina's creepy stalking and harassment of JimmyJunior needs to stop immediately. It would be unacceptable behavior for a boy to do to a girl; it is no less disgusting because it's a girl engaging in the same behavior. Plus, trying to break up a longtime friendship for selfish reasons makes her a grade A asshole.

I don't know what's worse: That Tina still hasn't learned, or that nobody caught on to her very obvious plan?

I think Louise knows. At the end she made a comment about Tina not being able to have Jimmy's butt to herself, but that she (Tina) did the right thing.

I don't really have a problem with Tina perving per se, but it's been long enough that this plot needs some development. He was flat out mean to her last week, and she didn't accept his apology, but we're right back at the start again.

I'll give him credit for trying to help the goose, but that's like the one nice thing he's done. And I can't believe 1. I typed that sentence, and 2. you all know to what I'm referring.

I caught that, too. Loved it.

Like some others, I'm tired of Tina's obsession with J Jr. It really needs some development. It should be obvious by now to her that he's not into her.

I did enjoy their adventure at school. Loved the new character. One of my favorite parts was that when he forgot to prop open the door he just said let's do it again, even though it was a big drop down.

The season's over, time to pick Emmy Candidates!

For me the clear front runner is I Bob Your Pardon. I loved tons of episodes this seasons but I really think that the Emmy episodes are best when the whole family are together in the storyline, and this season they almost always split the episodes into at least two plots.

I worry they might submit Bed, Bob and Beyond. It was a fun experimental episode, but I think it lacked the charm that the real-world setting has.

I guess Just One of the Boys 4 Now For Now is also a strong contender if only for the crazy great guest stars, too.

"Nobody will actually see this right?" "Maybe those tomato people, who will give him some tomatoes."

Tina you idiot. Trying to get Zeke kicked out of school so you can be with Jimmy Jr. more. We all know that Zeke is the better option! I knew she would come around and help in the end, but it was getting really unlikable and mean, and this show normally isnt like that. Even if some of the stuff with Tina, like apparently sneaking peaks at the boys locker room, are getting creepy at this point. She needs to start moving on.

Seriously, Zeke is the forever MVP!

I liked Arnold, I hope he pops up again. "I would love to be that care free, but too many people are counting on me."

I don't expect a show like this to have episodic continuity but I thought that maybe after J Ju was such a jerk to Tina when they ran the mile that she would finally wake up.

I'm with everyone else. I'm tired of the Tina and J Ju thing. I'm tired of her being obsessed with him and I'm tired of him being a jerk to her. And yes, Tina's boy craziness is getting less funny and bordering on creepy.

I love when the kids have episodes like this tho.
