I think it's just a depth/perception thing since it doesn't look super big compared to the cream cheese IMO, but I honetly wouldn't be surprised if she had a duck egg or maybe just a source of really big eggs?  Backyard chickens are HUGE in Dallas, so she might have had a friend, neighbor or a source at the Farmer's Market that has a chicken breed with big old eggs.

I have a friend with backyard chickens that I helped show at the State Fair one year, which is both one of the weirdest and coolest thing I've ever done.  I had NO IDEA there were so many types of chickens.

Side note - Nicole will post on her stories occasionally some boxes of produce her dad will send from their family home in Idaho, and it's hysterical.  Like fresh from the garden, still with dirt.  If it fits, it ships!  I remember talking to her about it a year or so ago bc I also have family in Idaho.

I have a friend who works at the post office.  You'd be surprised what you can ship.  Produce, cremated remains, live bees...

Getting back on topic, that "world fitness champion" lady is one of the worst guest stars they've ever had on the show.  She's second only to the lady who made the girls get into the water tank and then ragged on them for their body fat percentage.  "You don't want to put THAT BODY in that teeny uniform!"

I don't particularly like any of the health and fitness experts (especailly Jay). The only one I've liked is the nutritionist from Cowboys Fit in season 13. She had some decent advice!

The episode that really annoys me now is in season 6 when they go food shopping. Jay throws away all that food and that makes me feel more nauseous than some of the food options they're eating!

PS I also used to work for the Post Office in the UK and can confirm there are a lot of strange items you can send. I had a customer who wanted to send live insects, which are allowed but I made someone else send them. I wasn't going anywhere near them!

Poor Melena  always makes me sad.  Girl, you were benched for not being able to remember the dances in NY.   Why give up a good job for the dcc ???

So true. If the Jets FC wouldn't let her dance, what made her think the DCC would?

The ideal body fat percentage also changed between seasons. Season 3 with the girl you talked about said it was like 10-16% and she absolutely nailed a girl (Jordyn Ketchum maybe?) for having like 18% body fat. And then season 4 all of a sudden it was recommended to be like 18-25% and Ashley Kelly was told to gain weight when she had 16%. And in none of those critiques did they ever say, "Here's the number of a good nutritionist." Because seriously these girls are dancing SO much I'd be surprised if extra cardio would do much for them, it's much more likely to be their diet (though everyone's different).

It probably was her because she said something about having to give up her peanut  butter sandwiches.

And PB&J would be fine in and of itself for lunch, but she called it her favorite snack.

I like Jay, but do agree he was out of his wheel-house of expertise in that grocery store event. I didn't him either doing that "egg machine" body fat measurement when Tia was a rookie.

I didn't need the point belabored that there are grease drippings at the bottom of the rotisserie container.  And I think Taylor over exaggerated in the store - she grabbed like 3-4 boxes of the sweeter cereal brands along with the cookie dough and the cinnamon rolls.  C'mon woman - keep some secrets to yourself - esp. when you know you're in the wrong.

ITA. For as much of a know-it-all she came across - that big lapse in common sense is my issue with her. Why not try to get on another team - any team any where else - before taking the big leap to the DCC?

And I still haven't gotten to the bottom of what does the "director of college recruiting football operations" do? If a director's job slot at a college is that important to have for career building, then maybe its best to let DCC go.  A director position in my field barely would have time to dance to a TikTok, let alone an NFL team. And wouldn't good ole common sense kick in knowing that college football and the NFL play during the same months - just one day apart???  And if you are in recruiting from HS - there goes Friday night.

Maybe she should have waited for the director position of college baseball/softball.

Yes - a person can have it all - but it isn't a mandate.

My only question on the whole Malena fiasco is--how could any one of TPTB not know about Malena's background?  I think they used her as fodder for the series.

I think they must have gotten some pushback with their body fat standards so they raised the "acceptable" body fat amount.

And yes it was Jordyn Ketchum and her percentage was over 20%.  She still looked amazing, though.  My husband got really mad at this scene.  "The only thing fat on her is her boobs and they look great!"  😄

I always thought that was odd.  They had several girls on the team that were former Flight Crew members (Tara and Savannah were on the current team), they always talk about doing background and reference checks for training camp candidates.

I thought Malena was generally very smart and capable, but the way she had such a meltdown when telling them about it was honestly kind of worrying.  We all have setbacks in our careers, she could have explained it calmly and talked about what she had done in order to improve on her memory and dance skills.

Another reason wht ahe should have danced for another team and finished a hopefully successful season. Yes - the sting of being benched is part of life, but maybe it could have been less emotional for her to talk about, if there was something good that happened later.

And Jalyn was a rookie with Malena on the flight crew! This never gets mentioned on MTT, nor do you ever really see Jalyn and Malena in any clips together.

Cassie grew on me in the middle years. Not the first and not the last. It was just too clear that her injury allowed her to stay on the team - close to queen of the mountain top.

Serious question for generally everyone on the whole “Cassie injury favoritism” thing (not meant to be snarky and not meant to be directed to just sATL)…. And for the record I’m not the world’s biggest Cassie’s fan….

Do people feel this way just because they feel she was generally out danced overall when injury free?  I can understand that because we all tend to have our own opinions and favorites etc.

But what I don’t get is how was her “injury favoritism“ much different than Brook’s ACL injury? Or Ashley Nicole’s knee injury?  (I can think of a few more as well.)  They were both vets and both were allowed to stay on through the end of training camp and make the team. I do believe their injuries happened at more “on the job/events” so to speak/DCC work related events (Brooke show group performance I think and Ashley Nicole…Judy said she was injured “in the kick line”).  I realize FOR SURE Cassie’s knee injury was pre-existing before her DCC career.  I get that.   But it was DEFINITELY aggravated by her work with DCC to the point where she went ahead during the off season and had the surgery hoping to heal up enough in time for auditions AND to make the team.  I would do the same thing if I was her.

So, all that being said, why is it such a huge problem that she was allowed some of the same grace the other injured vets got during/around training camp timeframe?   Besides the obvious case that could be made that it wasn’t directly/specifically an “on the job” occurrence, but instead during the off season.  But one “could” make that case that it was due to aggravation.  Danielle was in same situation.  So was Jinelle… and heck, Jinelle was even abroad and also hospitalized (albeit emergency) and missed many days of training camp.  Oh and let’s not forget about Daphne’s lackluster final audition dance due to pain and having to favor her knee….super low kicks… yet she was given grace to heal and brought back into camp struggling.

All these cases are different when you pick them apart for sure… and there’s lots of nuances, but you get my drift.  They were all given some kind of grace because they were VETS and a part of the team and they DESERVED some darn grace.

I guess I just don’t see the big deal in Cassie getting some of the same type of grace that the judges have a DEFINITE track record (aka a precedence) of setting…  that Brooke, Ashley Nicole, Danielle and MANY MANY others received and benefitted from.  Cassie was a good dancer, of course not the best one, but had all intentions of continuing on, was becoming a leader, was committed to DCC … and had the heart to continue on with the team 100%.  Like Kristi Scales said “There’s no doubt, Cassie Trammell is a DCC”.   On top of ALL THAT, then (and only then) you can add the icing on the cake… which is her mother being head choreographer… well heck yea she’s getting some grace and more time.  But, that icing on top does NOT negate/replace/or is in lieu of, the rest of the cake already being there.   I just don’t see the big deal.

Unpopular opinion complete

This is what happens when I stay up too late…🤦‍♀️

I feel like the Cassie “injury favoritism” case is about as solid as the rookie Loni “down in the front of the squad photo” favoritism case…. Everyone must’ve missed the fact that rookie Abigail Klein was down in front too, only on the other side.😆

Cassie’s injury was different because she had originally gotten it before she made the team and kept re-aggravating it. She should have never auditioned her last year because she knew there was a good chance ahead of time that she was going to have to sit out most of the season. But I think her and her mom were hellbent on her getting 5 years and a shot at Pro Bowl and VotY.

I've often wondered if certain girls are selected for training camp, with the producers and K&J knowing full well that they won't make the team.  I mean, they have to have at least a couple to cut for tv drama footage.  Like Taylor from season 6.  Any others you can think of that didn't really have much of a chance?

Carla Ann and Meagan F her third year auditioning spring to mind.  Vivian could possibly fit this her second year, but Kelli didn't know Vivian would be so "weird".  Dayton could possibly also fit this but my thoughts were not so much that it was anything Dayton herself did, but because of what she represented to Kelli.  There was no way Dayton was ever going to make the squad as long as Victoria was there.

Agreed, true, …but then one would have to say that Daphne shouldn’t have re-auditioned either… or Danielle should’ve pulled out etc etc.  I’m just saying Cassie wasn’t the ONLY VET EVER that received grace/time for an injury during the re-audition process.  So the “Judy’s daughter injury favoritism” theory doesn’t really stand up.   Side note:  I personally don’t see anything wrong with being hell bent on getting a fifth year, or Pro Bowl, or VotY….😆….but her coming back one last time SURELY wasn’t going to get her ANY of those accolades!!! …and SHE KNEW that.  Like she said herself, she was never going to be the smiley girl, or the yes girl, or the point of the triangle girl, with a big fake smile plastered on her face to win votes from her peers.  Cassie wouldn’t have changed who she was for a title.  She could care less.  It’s just not her style.  I really think it was as simple as she just wanted one last year.

I must respectfully disagree with this a little.  Dayton had MAJOR future bombshell potential.🔥  But, oh yeah, there was just one problem.. Dayton sucked.  Her panel interviews sucked and her memory sucked.  I also felt she was a smidge soft in the midsection😬(sorry had to say it).  She didn’t make it into camp the first time for those reasons … and the next year she was cut from camp, for again, those very same reasons (mainly memory which affected her performance).  She could NOT keep up with the choreo, period, end of story, and it was obvious.  If she didn’t have those issues I think she could have made the team.  It had NOTHING to do with VK, nothing.

Actually, IMHO, Victoria was cut ULTIMATELY because of weight.  Yes,Yes,YEEEESSSS I agree there was the lack of maturity thing 100% and all the stupid s*** she blurted out of her mouth…. But let’s be honest here, she was overweight in the midsection and therefore wasn’t right for the uniform… skyscraper legs or not.  I actually feel like she didn’t even quite realize that she was fluffy from the get go😬 (much like Breelan said she didn’t have a clue why she was cut until the moment she saw them discussing her shape when the MTT episode aired!)!  Heck even I could see the fluff.  I even saw it on VK’s IG posts way in ADVANCE of auditions (and certainly during auditions) and I would be literally mind blown 🤯 if TK (also being sensitive to this topic) or Kelli or Kitty or even Cassie or SOOOOMEBODY close to her never broke the news to her in advance of auditions that her weight was up!🤷‍♀️   But because of their close relationship, Kelli spared her that National TV humiliation by not DIRECTLY calling out the weight during the cut (aka “it’s comprehensive”🙄 but yet let that mascara humiliate her instead).  Now let’s go ahead and cue VK’s weight/mental health/bullying struggles.

I also strongly believe that Kelli, Judy, Shelly B, Charlotte, most of the long term judges, and personally ME🙋‍♀️ would have LOOOOOVED to see Dayton and VK make the team together and dance together for many seasons to come!  It would have been awesome to see 2 legacies, but especially THESE 2 legacies, cheer together.  That’s the stuff some OG fans of DCCMTT dreams are made of.

Had VK or Dayton been “favored” like everyone said they were, they would have both made the team that year and been given more time to develop!  But they weren’t!  And yet VK was still trolled and bullied as if she had. Never made sense to me!🤦‍♀️ Haters gonna hate.

After Cassie’s departure, I looked forward to VK and Dayton coming up. I personally love to see those mother/daughter/bestie relationships playing out within the whole DCC dream/organization kinda similar to the roommate/bestie thing like Alanna/Lily, Holly/Ally, Brooke/Megan💔/Stephanie, Jessika/Kyndall etc. etc.  I’m a fan of all the relationship dynamics! Just the same as I will look forward to Lennon’s come up (if that’s the path she chooses)🤠.  I’m here for all of it!😄

…. now I f someone would just bring my dang show back… 💔

For me I think it's due to the fact that her injury was nowhere near healed and she needed to sit out of a lot of rehearsals and shows. Almost every other injury you mentioned - Danielle, Ashley, Jinelle - those were short term and they knew that with a couple weeks of rest they would be physically okay. Cassie's knee injury and surgery took much longer to recover from. And honestly I feel the same way about Brooke and Daphne. They're all good dancers, but they had long term injuries and couldn't/wouldn't have been able to fully participate in that season even after several weeks of training camp. I think Cassie and Brooke were favorites and Daphne's injury came after a year where TPTB took a lot of heat for all the veteran cuts so they were going to be nicer anyways (and that year was the first in a decade to have no vets actually cut - Amanda, Lisa, and Alora Rose quitting was different). So yes, there was favoritism in those cases. Personally I don't think any of those three should have been accepted back into training camp that year, or frankly tried out knowing they had such a severe injury. Take a year off, heal properly, and then come back the following year if you still want it. But I am happy they were consistent with it. As far as I'm aware there aren't any vets that tried out despite an injury and were cut because of it.

This makes total sense to me.  I agree this would have been the best recourse for all 3 as well.  However, I also think it’s tough to come back😬, and then there’s YOLO, and so I can see why they still went for it.   And because of all these examples, but especially because those 3 specifically, I’m just never going to buy into the “nepotism” theory regarding Cassie’s injury.  If anything, TPTB have been pretty consistent with their treatment of vet injuries (from the outside looking in anyways, which of course, is a very flawed/distant viewpoint).  If TPTB practice blatant favoritism, the legacies haven’t benefitted very much from it, if at all, contrary to all the legacy haters beliefs.

Basically 70% of all the legacies were cut on their first attempt.  It’s also pretty safe to say that if Cassie (like MANY other cheerleaders in general from the 2000’s days) were to try out today, she wouldn’t make it on first attempt.  The competition is just too stiff these days.  But it just wasn’t back then.

**Legacy #1- I forgot who she was but I guess she made it on first attempt???  (Someone correct me here if I’m wrong.)
**Meredith- Very good dancer (IMO) among very average competitors. Cut at auditions on first attempt.  Made it second attempt.
**Cassie- Very average dancer among very average competitors.  Made it first attempt.
**Legacy #3- Not a good dancer at all. Forgot her name but the dark haired girl that said “you like me, you really like me”.  Cut at auditions.

**Dayton- Good dancer among great competitors. Cut at auditions first attempt.  Cut at camp on second attempt.
**Victoria- Very good dancer among great competitors.  Cut on first attempt at camp. Made it second attempt.
**Madeline- Very good dancer among great competitors.  Cut on first (was that her first?) attempt at camp.  Made it on second attempt.

If I recall correctly, Meredith Oden was cut her first time auditioning back in the 2-hour special.  I can't remember if she was cut at auditions or actually in Training Camp.  I'd have to track that information down.

Welp… fast forward one year later and Breelan is made an example of that.  She had some fluff and could have easily toned that up (however, I do agree she should have come prepared in the first place)….

BUT I will always throw up in my mouth watching Melissa Rycroft’s “blech/ugh/oof” reaction when she curled her lip up in disappointment at Breelan’s figure at the Season 10 finals.  Breelan was and is a bombshell and Rycroft couldn’t look that good if she tried… which she never does.

There was another problem with Breelan which was already showing at TC: her facial expressions. Breelan's face seemed to always mirror what she was thinking or how she was feeling. In addition she could also pull funny faces and look frightened.

Unfortunately, due to some bad luck, the camera caught that quite a few times which really pissed Kellie off. Especially when it was a headshot on the big jumbotron. It's hard to change that but I can also see Kellie's issues with weird faces in terms of looking good and appearance.

Another question related to the DCC work load vs College work load a few weeks back: One thing that has always puzzled me is this:

Usually there isn't that much activity around colleges and universities during summer. The year wraps up in June with the last papers and/or exams. Then there's nothing until the beginning of September (at least that's the case here in Europe) Unless you flunked a test, there really isn't much going on those months. So those in training camp should be fine (apart from maybe the first 2 weeks, which aren't that busy anymore either)

So, I could never quite understand the issues with college and TCC, but maybe the situation in the US is different from Europe? If so, please enlighten me. Also, I understood that after TC, the schedule isn't that demanding anymore with only a few practices a week and the performances? That should be doable right?

I recall this being an issue during camp for Breelan.  But are you saying this continued throughout the actual football season? Like was she being captured making funny faces on the Jumbotron during regular season games or something? Just curious because I thought she fixed that and calmed down once she made the team and that basically they were able to “wake up her wow”.  I must admit that Breelan will always be one of my faves. ❤️

It’s probably not impossible, but if you’re carrying a full load of classes and getting a decent grades matters to you it’s probably very difficult to juggle both, and you’d basically have no free time. It’s also more than just rehearsals. The beauty appointments alone would take up a good chunk of time plus expectations for working out and practicing on your own. And most US colleges are on the semester system and start in August, so there would be overlap with camp. I’ve always wondered how they swing the calendar shoot with school.

Yes, I clearly remember some footage of her in the DCC uniform out on the field with awkward faces. One or two of them were close ups on the jumbotron. I think some of it was on the show and there may have been some on the internet/sm at the time.

Cassie’s injury was different because she had originally gotten it before she made the team and kept re-aggravating it. She should have never auditioned her last year because she knew there was a good chance ahead of time that she was going to have to sit out most of the season. But I think her and her mom were hellbent on her getting 5 years and a shot at Pro Bowl and VotY.

and that halftime show with all of the stunts, for cancer awareness.

her first year , it just seemed her dancing wasn't that strong. and yes, the last year her injury. It just seemed her injury and dancing was getting beat out.

I can't remember her dance background . yes - she can cheer and do stunts with the best of them, but when you have ladies who danced (all genres) from age 2-3, danced/performed in HS, danced in college , danced on some other professional team, took classes and lessons all over the place,  there seems to be a gap, at least on paper, and those two years visually.

100% agree.  I always thought she looked confused, even when she wasn't dancing.

I'm pretty sure Cassie actually tried out the year before she made it to training camp.  I remember someone saying that (on here or on the reddit board, can't remember) and I swear I spotted her in the crowd in the season 2 audition episode.  It would make sense, when we met her she was 19, not sure why else she would have waited to audition.

I don’t remember that but if that’s the case, we’re up to like 86% of the legacies cut on their first attempt at auditions. 😮

Btw - what accolade or honor do they get for being 5 yrs on team? I thought they get the pinky ring sooner than that. Sidney get anything for 7 yrs? 5 years seems to be a sweet spot, but I never knew why - is that the magic number to be an All star?

Pro Bowl and VoY is by team votes, right, so any vet can enter and win the election?

I have no idea who that is. The only other legacy was a girl name Nadia Marcella whose mother was a DCC (for only 1 yr) in the 80s. She didn't make it past semi- finals.

The "you like me, you really like me" makes me think of former TCC Whitney Robertson.  She didn't say exactly that but more like "you really want me on this team" and then got cut afterwards. She went on to make the AA Ice Angels for 1 year and then the Miami Dolphins cheerleaders for 3 years.

Yeah, she's the one that said "you like me, you really like me". She said that after messing up at semis.

I've often wondered if certain girls are selected for training camp, with the producers and K&J knowing full well that they won't make the team.  I mean, they have to have at least a couple to cut for tv drama footage.  Like Taylor from season 6.  Any others you can think of that didn't really have much of a chance?

I need to rewatch her season, but I thought Taylor was a good camp candidate. Very cute facially, great figure (even if she wasn’t confident in her smaller chest…that’s gotten more common in later years as they keep going leaner,) solid dance experience but needing polishing. Her immaturity got her the boot, tho maybe they did drag it out longer for the drama.

Carla was a tough one, why embarrass her like that?  No one needed to know her ex was spreading revenge porn ☹️

If Hulu picks up the show, I'd like the show to be completely reworked. I'd want them to follow the cheerleaders throughout the entire season. And no stupid informercials for Cowboys Fit, etc.

Why didn’t Vivian listen to kitty and not do that emotional dance at finals ?  It looked awkward. I think if she hadn’t been so self absorbed you could have been a good dcc   And I don’t remember seeing Morgan at kitty’s season 9.  Cause I don’t think kitty would have let her wear what she did

Kitty likely had more than one practice rehearsal. The majority of what they film (and don’t film) ends up not being shown. We only get a tiny snippet as viewers.

Was that the Indian outfit with the spear? I think her 2nd time at finals (when she got cut) she had an issue with her pants falling down. The outfit kind of looked like a tuxedo.
