Holy shit, great find! So Joe Kennedy Scarborough couldn't resist the siren call of the Island, huh? Guess that's where he/they have been all week. Virus be damned, masks be damned, health of Bombo be damned. How stupid can he and Barnicle be? Looks like the Voo Doo pins actually worked! I can't see how he escapes major criticism for this. Think Mika is there? I see her ex has been in Maine lately...maybe she is with him; some weird family dynamic there. I wonder if her cryptic post about her family not agreeing on how to handle the pandemic was a dig at Joe? They are such hypocrites. I hope this blows up their charade.

Oh, and Barnicle needs a bra.

Joe and Mike Barnicle were photographed in Nantucket without masks!  Several journalists have tweeted this today.  This is a tweet from the original source.  Tsk tsk, Joe.

Even worse than that, doesn't Massachussetts have a 14-day quarantine rule in place for travelers from places like Florida? It certainly has not been 14 days since they left Florida. I think it's advisory only, but it sets an incredibly poor example to be breaking quarantine rules so openly to the point of flaunting it. Sitting on a public bench in a public square, not quarantining, not wearing a mask, and not socially distancing from a 70-year-old man. Especially for people who can presumably afford to rent a private house with a garden or near some remote beach. Disappointing.

People in the media have noticed that Joe has been missing from the show a lot lately.   I think that this is not a good look for Joe, given the current TV media trend toward reorganization.

Blonde beauty???!  Come on.

And quoting that rant about being stressed out.

If this is all too much for you, quit the show. No one will miss you.

She is ALWAYS stressed out. Her job is too hard, her daughters drove her crazy, the stress from her affair, and ending her marriage, people are mean to her, her boobs won't stay in her bra.

Ever think maybe YOU'RE the cause of the majority of stress in your life, Drama Queen?

Her playing the victim role is tiring. Plain and simple: she does not have the intelligence nor confidence to be in the news/infotainment industry. She's weak. She's passive. Always a step or two behind. The sad part is, IMO, she realizes this and thus she is always preoccupied with what she should say next to sound smart and doesn't listen intently on the conversations...and gets shrill and tongue tied while trying to act like she's in control. She has no natural ability to express herself spontaneously. It's a shame she was coddled this long...marrying her boss sure didn't make her any smarter or more likable.

Good lord. She acts like the man has not taken a vacation in 13 years, when he’s been on vacation pretty much every other day for the past 13 years.

Yikes. That tweet and the other 2 (check them out) gushing over Joe's brilliance is some kind of calculated attack...either to management to beg them to see the relevance in the show or to the haters complaining about his absence and her dismal performance solo. If SHE feels the void, she can imagine how the rest of us feel when left with only her. If his absence is such a test to her I'd suggest this idea: Make him show up! I can't believe Mika told him to take the week off and then complain about it. We all know they can do the show from anywhere...hell, they could just tape it the night before and sleep in...or even do a week's worth at a time since we all know what they're going to say anyway. There is just something weird about this. And of course she has to assign him "value". Wouldn't a real woman of value just do the job and not whine about it? I thought bowing to the man/boss/husband was the exact opposite of her "movement". Submissive Mika needs Joe by her side.

Holy shit. She has lost her mind.  I TOLD HIM TO TAKE OFF.   Because we got in a big fight and I told him not to do the show this week, I didn't want to be around him.  But I forgot how hard it is to read and talk to people without my BFF,  "Sheetcake" uh  I mean Joe,  beside me.

She's having guests do her job so she can run in the other room and shove half a cake in her mouth and do a quick roll around on the floor.

Yasmin was off last week, and someone tweeted at her "where are you, hope everything is okay".  She didn't lose her temper, just said "much needed vacation".  People responded, we miss you, see you next week.

They are in big trouble.   I can just hear her " WE MADE THIS NETWORK!!!"

I find those tweets by Mika to be highly unusual. Did the network refuse to give them their bonus payments ?

Is advertising revenue for the show down ?

The show does air some Trump campaign commercials now which is surprising.

Mika and Joe must be losing their minds. Rachel & George Stephonopolous get Mary Trump, and Mika is stuck with Dr Dave.  And Joe took off to practice juggling china and fire sticks.

Didn't Mika say SHE has insight into Donald's mind?  Wouldn't SHE be best suited to interview his niece, a clinical psychologist, about Donald?

Or at least make an appointment with Mary for herself??

Also, Mika a "fire stick" is that little thing you buy from Amazon to put into the HDMI slot on your tv so you can watch Prime tv shows and other streaming services. They're about 1 1/2 inches wide and 3 inches long so juggling them with a coffee cup is not that hard.  Just like your show.

"This show has become a vital part of the political landscape. Joe created the platform, pitched to Phill Griffin - chose the players, and set up a GO-TO place for politics"

This is enough to make me want to drive to Nantucket and punch her .

Joe didn't create anything. Don Imus had this three hour slot, he got fired, they pulled in Joe and he & "Little Joe" chose Mika at 3 am one night.

Go to place for politics.  My ass.

I seem to recall Keith Olbermann being must see tv back in those days.  Joe was a joke.

Well.  Mother Teresa has nothing on Joe...Mr. Sacrifice.

There is one descriptive word that can kill a career; and that is Unprofessional.  What Meeka tweeted today was one of the most unprofessional things I think I have ever seen a newsperson/media person do.  She sounds like Trump with an airing of grievances.  Grow up!  Your husband doesn't need His Woman to defend him in public...not the hysterical way that she did.  I would think he would be terribly embarrassed by this.  Oh, wait.

No one would have noticed his absence all that much (except us) if she hadn't called attention to it in the most awful way possible.  I wonder what the network thinks of this latest drama; maybe it will get viewers to tune in tomorrow?  A soap opera from 6-9 every morning.  Meeka...the Erica Kane of morning news.  The network needs to give both of them a timeout.  Bring in some "temporary" hosts.

  • Love 5

I feel like it's all a part of the "Joe is indispensable" narrative they're pushing to make it seem like he's the Chosen One. She makes it sound like people were out in the streets, clamouring for Joe's return, so she HAD to respond that yes, he loves his people, but also, Heroes! Need! Rest! In reality it was like 3 people on Twitter vaguely wondering why he wasn't there.

  • Love 7

It seems that both Joe and Meeka are a bit off-the-rails.  The network may be proud that one of their on-air personnel has the gravitas to have editorials in The Post; good publicity for them.  But judging from the hysteria from both of The Twins, it may be time for them to have a time-out from the show.  They need to calm down; binge on Netflix, sit on the porch and read some sand trash.  Stay off Social Media. Do things Regular People would like to do but can't afford it.

But they have been so out-in-the-public with their hysteria and egos that it would be difficult for the network to impose a break.  At this point I find them exhausting.

Due respect, but I don't think anyone watches MSNBC because Joe submits op eds to the Washington Post.    A lot of the op eds at WaPo are not great.  Their reporting, yes some of the best in the country.   According to their "how to submit an op ed" page, you just write it, keep it under 800 words (apparently when Mika reads 800 words it seems much longer), and if it's pertinent, or has a personal slant, or I guess you know the Opinion Page editor, yours gets in.

I wonder if Joe submitted one once and they didn't run it and he threw a fit and they thought, Fuck just print it, it's easier than putting up with him yelling at us for an hour.  They don't have an ombudsman any more, which is the person who goes thru stuff they're going to print and makes sure it's appropriate, factual etc. Most large newspapers got rid of that position due to cost constraints, they claim the public will let them know if it's inaccurate, bad writing, etc.

So we only have ourselves, the subscribers to WaPo, to blame for this.

  • Love 3

What the hell is going on? Joe decides to go MIA when 1) we are in a once a century pandemic 2) the pandemic has caused once in a century economic harm 3) there are mass civil rights protests all around the country 4) there is a presidential election of historic importance 4) he has a new boss!

So glad I missed Mika's oratory today. One of the reasons I don't watch that often is because the first twenty minutes of the hour had become ten minutes of Mika reading excerpts of news articles (poorly) followed by ten minutes of Joe bloviating. I guess this morning was the hybrid version. Don't need either of those things, although I do miss some of their guests.

  • Love 5

Hey kids, just in case you need more of Joe's awesomeness and insight, she's posted audio of the world's bestest op-ed ever. (Sorry, I don't have details re: who recorded it...won't get credit for "clicking" on her shit...I do hope for her sake it's in Joe's voice.)

She's also dredging up old family pictures...just what we were hoping for! Little Mika and her bunny! Neato! And more Daddy worship. It's obvious she's at the Maine home as she drags out the photo album every year...I'd think her mother would have taken that kind of stuff with her to FL. I can't believe they missed their chance to appear on the Rate My Room platform and instead chose that ugly generic background. All the friends of the show have become stars there; they must be jealous.

I, too, bet she'll be off next week and he'll be there basking in his op-ed glory.

Mika named her bunny after the First President of Iran. Dr Z was negotiating with Bani Sadr for the release of the American hostages.

I wouldn't be thrilled to be called Baby Mama but, then, I'm not 26; maybe that's now a good thing. That was quite a cake situation. I couldn't figure out who the birthday girl is...I think the daughter of her friend just graduated high school. When I saw all the family references I wondered if it was Joe's son's wife? (Didn't one of his boys marry a few years ago?) The reference to "littleMika" was so conceited, yet typical.

You're right. I saw that but it didn't register...thought it was maybe one of their made up names, like Bomba...Whoever it is, it is insulting, IMO, to the girl's/couple's real family that Mika has co-opted the grandma/little Mika bullshit. That cake is a bit immature...did she combine a baby shower with the birthday?

Yes, I think the husband is Josh Brinzo. He posted a comment that said “we love being part of this amazing family”. I don’t know who the Brinzos are, or what they do, but they are obviously part of Joe and Mika’s cabal.

Invoicing???  Who are they invoicing?  They play at that one club in NYC I thought for the free exposure.   Venues??

Joe's love of music is actually just another one of their money making cons gone bust.

Has Joe paid Paul McCartney for using his music in that dipshit video he made?  I believe there are copyrights involved when you play more than five seconds of someone else's song.  We know if Joe ever ran for office again, he'd get in trouble for playing  "Won't Back Down" or "Born in the USA" without permission.

Mika, seeing her shaminar con go down the toilet, and her career as a news/talk show co host on thin ice, approaches the Queen of Media Manipulation/Shameless Self Promotion on how to get the spotlight to shine on her.  Kim does a lot of sham promotions, Mika, diet drinks, waist trimming/corset/butt implants/cosmetics, and she has an out of control egomaniac husband, so you have a lot to talk about.

Yes I know Kanye suffers from bipolar disorder, but he admitted he won't take medication he knows he needs, and that statement is from her PR firm, trying to stop the disaster that is heading her way.

I guess the 26 year old minions are doing their jobs: Following pop culture media feeds to then present to Queen Mika to make her look engaged in the world. This whole Kardashian thing is so off-brand for her. And why does a "journalist" have so many punctuation/spelling flaws in her SM? It would make her look somewhat more thoughtful and genuine if she took a little more time on these things. She pounds the phone keys just the way she talks...jumbled and unfocused. It's not a race to get your opinion out, Mika...I doubt anyone is holding their breath waiting for you to weigh in.

You can smell the desperation thru the tv.  She & Joe are so afraid they're losing credibility with the new guy, even tho the ratings are okay, there's only so much he'll put up with. Especially with all the young faces he's bringing in,  wouldn't it be nice to see someone other than a couple rich middle aged white people telling us what is going on?  Maybe a couple people who would do some field work, live in NYC, and not whine on a website linked to the network's about her cake addiction and depression?

Yeah we all watch, but not for the whole 3 hours.  Who could take it?  I can guarantee MSNBC, if they put two fresh faces in this time slot, people who are doing this because of their desire to get the news out, bring on educated guests to discuss the topics, etc. instead of a couple of snake oil sellers who are only there to collect a paycheck, try to impress everyone with their faux knowledge of politics and history, and here's the real reason, use a national news network to promote their bullshit side gigs.

If Joe & Mika left today, and Willie subbed for a while til they found permanent hosts, this show's rating would not suffer in the least. In fact, they might actually go up a little.   TV is the beneficiary of the viewing public's habits.  This is why, for example, when a network has a new show to promote, one they are really keen on, they air it after a ratings powerhouse. Your habit is to turn on the tv to the show you always watch, unless it's gotten so terrible you can't take it anymore.

You'll turn on MSNBC at 6 am. I mean, how much worse could it be?

I think that the Brinzo couple live in Jupiter, in the community Joe and Mika live in. I wonder if he is Joe's trusted money man...according to LinkedIn: His main job is to

"Manage personal wealth, income, and assets for high profile clients" including managing their LLC's and properties.

Interesting that someone of Joe's stature would choose someone with 5 years experience to handle his vast fortune. Let alone mix business with pleasure, vacationing with him, etc. I bet the Baby Mama is Mika's personal assistant...SOMEOME has to buy all the Brownie mix and Lucky Charms. The fact that Brinzo added the bit about being the band manager is not a resume builder, IMO.

Mika has drawn some criticism on Twitter for her comments about Herman Cain, the former presidential candidate who died of Covid-19.

I agree with you. There is no excuse for her behavior. (I should have put my original comments about this on this board yesterday...sorry, mods.) She just couldn't wait to post tragic news without an ounce of compassion. Glad she got dragged for it. She lacks a moral compass or something. Most people would have the self awareness to tread lightly in the first hours after such a sad event. There is something wrong with her. No wonder she has no friends, just minions. What a hateful bitch. She proves her lack of value once again.

The show is flat and has strayed so far from its original premise that it needs a complete overhaul, better yet, a replacement. At one time, the format stood out from what CNN et al were doing in the AM. Journalists, pols, experts drinking coffee, newspapers spread out, discussing the events of the day, cameras swooping around the table, with give and take discussions. Good and bad (glad Bill Kairns doesn't have to take Scarb's abuse anymore) it was usually dynamic. The whole thing went south as soon as the hosts did. The kids were still around the table at 30 Rock, but mom and dad, 1200 miles away, had problems being heard over the washing machine and dealing with the sat........................................................................................ellite delay, so the breakfast table wasn't as much fun and conversations got more stilted and measured. That decision by management, to host via skype, is inexplicable. Then, just when we thought the show had reached the bottom of the hill it fell into a ravine.

Network should have recognized the problems long before they closed the studio. Now it's just a mess. Too many boxes - they were one short of a Brady Bunch the other day - and a waste of talent, having Lemire be there from 6-7 (sometimes 6-8) for 2 or 3 short hits, or the short-straw guest stuck outside the white house for 2 hours. Way too stiff now, here's how "dynamic discussions" go - "Barnicle has a question for you... now Kacie you have a question..." And, devoid of any visual cues or situational awareness, host rants that end up being no more original than a trump rally speech, yet seemingly as long. At this point Kelly and Ryan are less vapid. Rant /off.

Your whole post is a thing of beauty. Clever and, oh, so true. (I'd forgotten about poor Bill...he and Savannah G. took some serious shit from those two idiots.) If ever there was a time to intro a dynamic, stimulating show it's now, as the election nears. I just can't imagine anyone being  drawn to this dull, morose concept. Hell, my local news shows have more color, variety, and excitement, and at a paucity of their budget.

It was the same this morning. I think they overbook guests because Joe & Mika have nothing to add to the conversation. It's just ridiculous to keep this charade going.

Go do a podcast, at least you'd get a free mattress and some of those meals in a box, and I think now a lot of them do ads for that tele psychologist service. Mika could definitely use that.

I wonder what The Twins are thinking.  Nicole Wallace has gotten more airtime - two hours everyday, 4-6; Chuck Todd is moving to 1:00.  Maybe Joe and Meeka had ambitions to just do a two hour late afternoon show; have to think the 4-6 timeslot would be better than the 6-9am.  Then again, they can roll out of bed early, at 5:00 (5:30 for Joe), do quick makeup, put tops on, run to their "home office" and they are on-air ready.  By 9 they are ready to nap, snack, shop, rehearse music, post makeup tips, watch Netflix.
