Apparently companies can now be bought and sold at the click of a mouse. Who knew? According to the writers the transaction is just like buying a bracelet on ebay. A billion dollars can just be transferred like that! Not even a contract needed. Does buying a shipping company include shipping and handling? It must be so fun to live in the brain of a Y&R writer. So much empty space to run around in.

*****DEAD****  (sorry I couldn't double-bold the last sentence.)

I watched today's Canadian (parts of it). WTF kind of business writing is this? Jabot is now some corporate raider who is lying in wait for a "good deal" out there? FFS. Jabot is a cosmetics company that relatively recently launched a fashion division. Now they are buying shipping companies on a whim???? Come the FUCK ON.

I love a good Ashley and Jack fight but it's not a good fight when Ashley is just being a fucking moron and Jack is continuing to say NOTHING in the face of her accusations re: "the merger and his erratic behaviour."

And then Victor is again hollering at Jack for being behind Paragon??????? And he promises there will be consequences. And Jack still has no motivation to OUT Victor?

WHY DID I WATCH?????????

If you look up Giardia, the symptoms do not include being a BSC paranoid bitch. Guess Sage drinks out of puddles and doesn't use proper hand washing technique. EEWWW! Maybe she caught it from Baboon Boy?

Giardia is a weird choice. Highly contagious, and most common in dogs that eat poop.

baussie, sometimes, it is called "travellers diarrhea".

you don't get it unless you ingest contaminated food or drink contaminated water.

Maybe someone (Sharon) poisoned the well at the ranch and that's why she got the hell out of Dodge to go stay in the looney bin?

J/k

I can't stand that Victor's being written as the one putting Abbott's in jail when he didn't have to pay at all for everything he did regarding Marco. Victor should be locked up, the Abbott heart in him should be pulled out.

HAS a parasite . . . Sage IS a parasite!

ITA they need to just get rid of this piece of dead wood.  So boring

oh blech, dummer and her lawn ornament are back.

and she wants jabot to give that shipping company back..**i can picture her stamping her foot".

oh, and apparently sage has a parasite but antibiotics should clear it right up.

Dummer and her purse holder have not been gone long enough to make me happy.  Gone permanently not that would make me happy

oh my dog, today, noah confronts turd and he says he is sorry he knows about marco and  wishes he could undo it all.

dummer defends gwampa, he would never do that.

LOL  turd goes to the prison to confront the warden about ian being out and guess who comes in the room but ian....

i have to wonder if the warden was a past member of "the path".

this show is just plain shitty.

for the record, i did not watch the show, it is just the recaps i have read.

Welp. I kinda-sorta watched today's show. I actually thought it was interesting. There was decent pacing, a few interesting confrontations, etc. In fact, I was ok 'til Ian #2 showed up. Then, I actually yelled. Were it not for the presence of a dear relative, I would have cursed.

The last thing this show needs is another doppelgänger. The LAST thing!!!

Honestly. Is there a factory somewhere...?

I think it's time for me to check gossip and spoiler sites. I'm still wondering what's going to happen once Neil gets found out. (Is KSJ leaving...?) In today's final moments, Gwen saw him standing over Hilary. Judging by the preview for tomorrow's show, the end is nigh.

I started to watch because of your post and because I am apparently a sadist. I had to stop. I just couldn't take it any more. Jack convincing Noah to keep the secret to keep everyone safe. What. In. The. Actual. Fuck? So now it's not merely to stay out of jail. It's to keep everyone safe? Why? From what? If they know about Marco (who is in prison) they will be in danger? How does this make any sense??????????????

And then Noah hollering at Jack for lying to protect himself. And Jack sounding like a what I don't know. But not like a human being. He just sounds stupid. Saying whatever needs to be said in each episode to make this nonsense move forward. And when there's a knock on the door, Noah says: "I hope that's Summer. So you BOTH can explain how her husband really died."

That's when I turned it off. Summer suffered, you guys. NOT JACK. Summer. And Jack is responsible for it.

I made the mistake of watching today. The writing is so bad, I can't even snark on it.

Victor: "I won't allow you to call me a Liar. You understand that?"

Noah: "You hired a man to impersonate Jack & left him stranded on an island."

Jack: "There are different perspectives, Noah."

Noah: "There were 2 Jack Abbotts & people deserve to know! My Grandfather is responsible for putting people I care about in danger."

Jack: "Victor crossed the line. But it happened to me, Noah. To Me. No one else. I get to decide who knows & who doesn't."

Noah: "Stop pretending like you're the only victim. You don't want people to know because of the things you did that could put you in jail."

Jack: "We're talking Extradition & totally unreliable foreign courts!"

Noah: "Lies are always the fallback for both of you. There was a crime lord in town, Jack, pretending to be Summer's step-father, using your face, your name, and you don't have the courage to stand up."

Jack: "This is my call. This happened to me! Keeping it secret keeps us safe!"

Victor: "Marisa shouldn't have told you. You knowing about Marco Anicelli puts your life at risk. As Head of this family, I'm concerned about security. If you share this with anyone, you'll cause damage."

Noah: "This lie protects you & Jack. That's it."

Jack: "To keep people safe, you have to keep quiet. We have to stay quiet!"

Police show up to arrest Jack.

Victor "They're here to arrest your ass."

Noah: "You're having the guy hauled off in handcuffs."

Victor: "You have to understand that Jack & the Abbotts brought this on themselves. They introduced a virus into the computer system. I built this company from the ground up!"

Noah: "I need to know. Were Harding & Marco working together?"

Victor: "I'm sorry you know about all this. I wish you didn't because it puts you in danger. Marco Anicelli is a bad dude. I'm sorry about what happened to Summer's husband and your fiance Courtney, but what's done is done."

Phyllis shows up to beg for Jack's freedom.

Victor: "Don’t you ever barge into my office! Get the hell out of here!"
Phyllis: "I have info about Paragon"
Victor tells FBI agent on the phone: "Excuse me for a moment. I need to deal with a nuisance here."
Phyllis: "Ian Ward is behind Paragon. Your grand-daughter who you adore swore she saw him. He’s behind it Victor. Not Jack."
Victor: "You serious?"
Phyllis: "You need to get Jack out of Jail"
Victor: "Why the hell would I do that? Ian Ward might be working with the Abbotts!"
Phyllis: "Victor, you owe me! Let Jack go!"

Victurd showing attitude after that Mofo had her raped by a drug dealer for months. SMH.

Chuckles Pratt legit thinks the audience is rooting for Victor as he "fights back". On what fucking planet???? I hope ratings plummet.

I hope ratings plummet.

So do I. Pratt is a disgrace. I feel like he's mocking the genre, mocking the audience.

People's entire personalities change on a dime. Their reasons for doing things change mid-conversation.

Jack should have shot up a few Newmans. That's the only believable outcome to his months of torture and his wife being raped. Nothing else. Instead he's blathering like an idiot (as you quote above) first about not wanting to be sent to prison on the ISLAND. Then he's saying it's a matter of security (but WHY if Marco is in prison)?

And he's put in handcuffs. A man who was tortured for months (involving handcuffs) is placed in handcuffs. He doesn't flinch? Panic? Freak out? (I'm asking because I didn't watch beyond the Noah conversation). There were zero repercussions to all that disgusting crap we watched. Zero.

What will Noah do now? We know he'll tell no one. This is just some fodder for this lame love tryst of his.

I was hanging on hoping for some justice for Jack. But it's clear that is never going to happen. Noah's reaction and the writing indicate that Jack is guilty, as guilty as Victor astonishingly enough. So when others find out he'll be blamed for lying, for the conspiracy.

I didn't think it was possible to write this badly.

I thought that Neil had gone blind today again when he was in the park talking to the pilot and Gwen was standing in plain sight watching them. How in the heck did he not see her? At one point he even looked in her direction. Bad acting? Bad directing? Both.

I just loved (not) Victor's reaction to Noah. Bascially what he said was: "Yep, I brought that bad man Marco to town. So yep, I am indirectly responsible for the death of both your fiance and your brother in law. But what is done is done. Time to move on." That sounded stupid even coming from Victor (which is saying a lot). I am surprised that the writers didn't have him break out singing the chorus of Que Sera Sera. Ugh.

The scenes with Jack and Victor were...The usual. (For some reason, declarations about "The Safety of Everyone In The History of Genoa City", didn't strike me as odd. Rather, I thought it was their usual excuse.) Could it be that when I last watched I had grown so accustomed to certain BS, that I've stopped caring?

:(

I figure they'll bring Marco back eventually. Most likely before year's end.

And Victor? I don't mind EB, but I can't stand the moron that he plays. Again, I overlooked it because I think I'm a little too used to it.

I hear you. I too lower my expectations when I watch. But the scales have fallen from my eyes. I can't buy it any more. I absolutely believe you that it was well-paced etc. And had we not had the 6 months of Marco it would all be fine.

But the shocking months of torture porn set up big expectations for me. And not in my worst nightmares did I see this level of whitewash.

Giardia is also called "Beaver Fever" - 'Swat ya git fer screwin' what you find in a bahr trap.

I think you are making a joke here, but in case you aren't Giardia is not a sexually transmitted disease. It is often transmitted by drinking contaminated water and called Beaver Fever because the parasite if often carried by beavers - the rodent that is. I had it years ago through contaminated water in my city's water system. Not once did I hallucinate. As others have said, an inexplicable choice for the writers but then most things they write these days are inexplicable.

I also loved the scenes at the police station. BJ has really grown on me as Billy. I wonder if he was the one who came up with Lurch as a nickname for Victor? I don't remember Billy Miller using that nickname but I could be wrong. In any case his amusement of Abby and Victoria being arrested was very entertaining.

I hope they have not doppleganged Ian, or found a long lost twin. I am assuming that the reason he is supposedly in a hospital is that he has found a way to come and go as he pleases. Not really believable of course, but moreso that coming and going from a prison at will. Oh heck, who am I kidding? None of the above are 'believable'.

Or...Ian has Newmandar and travel-powers that enable him to get back into stir and into a bathrobe PDQ.

UO WARNING!

Now, I'm just going to back up my 40-foor hi-top container rig, because I'm seconding the above opinion, seeing it, and raising it a few power. So check Loading Bay #3, when you're ready to throw things...

I actually really enjoyed yesterday's CDN, and it was the first episode in a long while I can say that of. Like a couple of you, I absolutely liked the scenes and interchanges at the police station--Michael B's starting to get his snap back, after being forced to be weenie-morose for a long time, and that's a plus. Now, of course Summer's crap about legal rights and so on just smelled of one of the script writers trying to stick some history in there for continuity fans, but ya can't have everything.

What I'm seeing, to a degree, with the Jack thing, is that he's being written flawed, and his cover-up/playing into coercion thing is not there for viewers to admire. Instead, we have a more traditional Jack, who wasn't really all that shiny-bright in many ways.

Now, remember to use your back-up beepers as you approach the loading dock, please!

I'm seeing Victor [insofar as EB's acting skills will allow] being shown as kind of a disintegrating mess, making obviously stupid decisions [Arrest 'em all, dammit!], unable to deal with the severe leakage problem brought in by Noah, and getting a bit shaky in general. At least I hope this might be the case.

The Neil thing? It's a giant crock of yoohoo, to put it very daintily. It's a Kevin Smith-scale shit monster that should have ebbed away some time ago. The actors are all tedious, the flip-flops [Where in the world is Hilary San Diego?], and the suspense, friends, the suspense! As we sit waiting to see if this crapoid storyline will link up with the big Newman/Abbott one.

So, if you spot the container full of "God no, I disagree so much!" getting too full, just let me know, I can't see from the cab.

I can't believe that was actually the script--I thought you were doing  a really good parody.  (I checked the calendar-it's not April Fool's day.)  There is no reason for the writing to be this bad and none to watch this dreck.  So glad I quit.

Wouldn't it make MORE sense for people to know & be aware of a Jack doppelganger?? Wouldn't it??? Then they could protect themselves and FAMILY** ...forewarned is forearmed or something along those lines....

Why in heaven's name is everyone so afraid of this one man...all they have to do is tell them who he looks like after all. Seriously??!! Victor is the more dangerous of the two if you ask me. Bringing murderers, druglords & rapists that he turned loose on his friends & family?? Seriously???

FAMILY** (Victors only excuse always comes to mind when I hear that word on this fakakata show.) **I did it for the FAMILY don't you know?**

I'm glad you're enjoying it pearl. But to me Jack is being written to be unsympathetic. And I LOVE Jack. He's just behaving unbelievably. If they had given him PTSD it could have been very good. And they could have kept the same storyline. Just have Jack FREAKED out at the thought of going to prison or back to his island hell hole and therefore refusing to go to the police. Phyllis could have tried to talk him into going to the cops but he's too messed up by Victor's threats of blackmail to consider it and she just wants to keep him somewhat emotionally safe (while dealing with her own pain and rage). That I would buy. But this bullshit that he's complicit? I can't enjoy anything when that is hanging over this story. He was utterly victimized. And Victor got away with everything and still holds the cards and gets all the fawning. I just can't see past that.

Phyllis and Jack would not accept this. They wouldn't. This is character destruction IMO.

This story could have had depth and legs and been fascinating. Even with Pratt's insistence on keeping Victor from being found out. But for me it's simply ruined the show as well as characters I've loved for decades.

Oh, I know. The writing

I know they're trying to build suspense, but it's really annoying.

Apparently that is how the writers are going to get Neil out of this mess. Gwen will not give up his secret since he did the 'right' thing by taking Hillary to the hospital.  He will leave GC for a bit while things cool down. No one will ID Neil at the hospital as the one who brought Hillary in. And the writers will likely even go so far are to give Hillary temporary amnesia so she does not remember Neil confronting her on her honeymoon and indirectly causing her accident. Cookie cutter writing at its best.

And...today..is the Drake Hogestyn Long Take Day!

Let us rejoice as the reveals reveal themselves!

Watch Victor play bait and switch! Watch Jack gasp for air like a goldfish gasps for water!

Watch Phyllis consider turning on Jack!

While you're at it, check out Nikki's improved hair and grooming.

Now once you've done that, enjoy Kevin shutting down Gabadam! Go Kevin!

That was a great episode from start to finish with the reveal.

Chelsea kind of annoyed me with her Adam hate though, she knew who she was marrying back when she did marry him (more than once?) also when she kept this secret. Adam shouldn't need to change for her to find him worthy.

Victoria sure started using "my brother" in the Adam reveal conversation quick. For someone she claims to hate so much, she uses that endearment a lot to refer to him as.

If that was Sharon who kept the Adam secret from Nick, Nick would be kicking her out and refusing to have anything to do with her. Not even letting her explain.

What was even more annoying to me (and unbelievable) was Nikki sticking up for Herb. WTF???? Nikki barely knows Sage and she is hardly the type to defend someone who has lied for months to her son. Give me a break. But of course Sharon is treated like crap by Nikki 24/7 no matter what. And guess what Nikki? Herb now says Sprout is not your grandchild. After telling you it was. Sound familiar? If any of the Newmans, including Nick, give Herb a pass regarding both of these lies (and I think likely Herb is lying now regarding Sprout but really I don't care who fertilized it) I will scream.

The other thing that did make me scream was Sage, in the very first scene she was in today was holding her stomach. Can SOMEONE please give this actor direction because she has no clue that being pregnant does not include touching your stomach every second of every day. Drives me nuts.
