Those Dillweed undercover scenes were painful to watch.  Burton looked so uncomfortable.  A terrible storyline idea.  But I am amused by seeing him have to play this after all those years on GH where he got the protected writing.  Heh.

LOL  i wonder if steve pictures his wife when he has to kiss female characters?

There's absolutely nothing going on on this show any more that has a spec of drama. If this is the writers' idea of "character driven", I'd rather have a plot driven drama instead.

I won't go quite THAT far, but enough is enough. The early days of MAB had a good balance of action-oriented story and giving The Force Awakens levels of fanservice. Katherine's 2008 funeral when they thought Kay was Marge was a good example of a big event that also played to the character histories. So was Victor and Ashley's wedding.

This show is getting to be too much into ATWT territory, but even when Nancy and Chris Hughes were fretting over their grown children's lives, they were addressing issues that were fairly new to TV, such as divorce and the issue of unwed mothers being all but forced to give their children up for adoption.

Nothing is new here. The Reed story is but one example of how out of touch writers seem to be.  No kid is paying for porn today. None. Boys can find leaked nudes everywhere and a whole generation of girls came of age with fanfiction.net accounts* to get a fix for their Harry/Malfoy slash.

*I just realize my own account is getting on at about 15 years now and that I'm one of the few people who remembered,a time when the site had NC-17 rated stories before the owner got rid of them, thanks to shippers that would flag flag stories going against their pairing of choice. Thanks for that,  fandom. ? My school also had no censor on the site either....man, the 2000s was a great time to be online! ?

Funny that you mention him picturing the wife.  On GH several years ago the Jason character was involved with a woman played by an actress that was a dead ringer, IMO, for Sheree Burton.  Fannies of the pairing thought he was into the actress (even though he's married) because the actress was so like Sheree in her physical appearance.

I did speculate that Alex is transgender....

Something else I noticed about her is she is tall.  Listed at 5' 9".  Burton is lucky if he's 5'10.  The actress seemed to be wearing heels and was slightly taller in their scenes.  That is also a new occurrence for Burton.  Previously females were always several inches shorter so he seemed to "tower" over them.  Any time Burton was in scenes with Ingo Rademacher (ex-Jax, GH) the height difference was glaring.  Ingo is 6'2".  *Giggles to self*.

I am still finding this Derek storyline highly entertaining.  But but but.  Did Dullen really not realize what going undercover means?  And now that he's boinked Alex a few times, he thinks that is all he needs to get Fisk to trust him.  Wouldn't every drug dealer in the world boink Alex if given the opportunity?  I don't really get how Fisk/Alex or anyone is going to automatically trust a guy no one knows, cause he boinks Alex. Preview shows the meet with Fisk who is currently beating the shit out of guy who used to have the job Derek desires.

Dullen was having a crisis of identity, today, wailing into the mirror:  WHO AM I?  What, he's been undercover for 5 minutes.

They are not going to kill him, he will stay deep undercover with Alex for the next three years.

Apparently Lauren and Phyllis are so close they're trading slut, arm, work wear.  Nice.

I must say Ashley and Phyllis must have made a good impression on Ravi.  That was quite a scene.  Unrelated to anything and unhinged as anything in a long time.

Poor Dylan.  He feels such guilt over one survival shag.  He plainly has not idea he's married to a bike share.

I gotta say, Mikey and Gloria were slightly funny today.  They are so campy together but its funny.  Like a drag show.

Sally has revived the Bill Bell approach to story telling.  This Dylan thing is dragging on and on and on and on and on and on and....

I think I looked up once from my iPad.

Paul contacts Dylan who says he's fine and he's not coming home until his mission is complete. Paul is worried Dylan doesn't sound like himself. Dylan mentions to Paul that Christine called yesterday and he had to improvise. Paul speaks with Christine and finds out she in fact did NOT contact Dylan. It takes him and Kevin two seconds to realize Sharon is the culprit and they take off to speak with her.

Phyllis tries to recruit Ravi to help out Fenmore's but Ashley finds them and an argument between Phyllis and Ashley ensues. Ashley storms off with Ravi following. Ravi finds Ashley in his office packing his things but manages to reassure her he doesn't want to leave Jabot; and he never would have met Phyllis if he had known she was trying to lure him away.

Michael sets up a meeting between Lauren and a friend of his who he thinks would be willing to invest in her company. The investor has no issue with a hands off approach since he has no interest in retail and hates shopping. All they have left to do is draw up some papers and Lauren is pleased.

Gloria sees the investor later at the club. He knows her through Michael and they talk. She finds out he's there to invest in Femore's. Gloria exchanges numbers with him but Michael sees them from across the room. Instantly suspicious, Michae joins them much to Gloria's annoyance. When the investor leaves, Michael questions Gloria's motives since she never liked his friend. Michael then deletes his friend's number from Gloria's phone and I cheer.

Devon wants to have a baby with Hilary. She's caught off guard but seems to agree since she later tells Mariah, at the GC Buzz, that she will soon be starting a family. She also convinces Mariah not to quit and thanks for her what she said to the viewers.  Hilary goes off to wardrobe and Devon stops by. Mariah is excited to see him and says she just wants to apologize for any role she might have played in his accident. Devon looks confused. Previews for tomorrow show him telling Hilary he remembers everything from that night.

Dylan is having a crisis. He's upset he slept with Alex and feels like he's losing himself. He finally goes to meet Finch who has someone tied up to a chair and is torturing him. Previews show Finch saying Alex may believe him but Finch isn't convinced that Derek is legit.

And that's all I remember.

I see where the previews are going... Detective Dipshit will be forced to partake in the torture to prove his street cred. The poor bastard tied to a chair will have his spirit broken watching Derek's pornstache undulate as he sings Pat Boone's greatest hits.

That poor bastard.  The only worse than hearing Dullan intone Love Letters in the Sand would be if Kneel were to tell Knock Knock jokes.

Some things are beyond the pale.

I have only watched this show sporadically so I will admit I don't know a lot of what is going on with Dylan's story line. Has it been confirmed that the actor is being written out? What struck me yesterday was Paul telling Dylan that Sharon loves and trusts him. Why would he say trusts? Makes no sense other than to freak Dylan out and make him feel guilty. But again, makes no sense that Paul would say that.

Is it a new trend with teenage males that they wear sweaters and plaid shirts tied around their waists? Can't say I have ever seen that before, but that appears to be all that Reed wears. Looks stupid. Mind you the plaid sports coat wasn't an improvement so maybe he should have stuck with the shirt tied around the waist.

  • Love 4

Ashley is annoyed that Jack didn't show Ravi how appreciated he is and she's scared to lose him to Phyllis. Ashley and Jack take Ravi out to the club and treat him to dinner. Ravi eats all the cake despite Jack holding up his fork and hoping to get the last bite, heh. Jack presents Ravi with a contract and he's super happy. He tells Ashley his mother is a neurologist and his father works for NASA.

Phyllis runs into Michael and asks them if she did anything legally wrong by approaching Ravi and Michael assures her that she didn't. Michael tells her about the prospective investor and how he caught Gloria speaking to him. Phyllis is instantly suspicious but Michael tells her he thinks Gloria is interested in the young man for marriage purposes.

Jack and Gloria meet at the club. Gloria tells him about Lauren's potential new investor. She assures Jack she has not given up on their plan. Phyllis catches them talking and hides behind a pillar.

Mariah tells Devon at the GC Buzz that she's sorry for any part she might have played in the accident. She rehashes the whole evening and as she does we see Devon flashing back to the events on NY Eve. Hilary shows up and drags him away to rest.

At the penthouse, Devon tells Hilary he remembers everything and he's super upset she's been lying to him. Hilary tells Devon that Stitch didn't want anyone to stress him out and if he doesn't believe her, he can ask Stitch or Neil or Lily. Hilary insists she's changed and she wants to start a family with Devon. And, Hilary reminds Devon about how upset and worried he was the night he woke up at the hospital that she could have been injured in the car with him. Devon isn't buying it and Hilary reminds Devon that it's always been them together and to hell with the world. Devon says now Hilary can pack up her bags and leave, and the hell with her. Devon goes upstairs.

Paul goes to confront Sharon about calling Dylan but is actually quite nice to her and reassures her that Dylan will be coming home. Paul leaves and Mariah shows up and Sharon shares her concerns with her regarding Dylan. Mariah tries to talk Sharon off the ledge.

Dylan is really trying to gain Fitch's trust but the dude is not making it easy and keeps giving Dylan the run around. Dylan shows him the money and Alex uses a counter to discovers there's an extra 5% added to the total as a show of good faith from Dylan's boss. Fitch tells his giant henchman to drive Dylan down to the pier to get the shipment and Dylan is glad business is finally over. In the backseat of the henchman's car, Dylan is listening to the audio of the deal and then notices they're heading inland. He tells the henchman to pull over and the henchman locks the doors. Uh-oh.

Previews show Gloria telling Phyllis at the club that she and Jack are now an item as she hangs off of Jack. Heh. I forget the rest.

Oh dear soap gods, this is the last day for you Canadians, isn't it? And then Dylan will be gone.

Well.....bye.

I read on SoapCentral this morning that SB's last air date is January 30, so he's got several more episodes to go. He was quoted by one poster over there that his last scenes with DD were "painful to film", whatever that means. Some take it to mean he's being killed, but an emotional farewell spoken between Dylan and his father would also be hard, especially if it involves going into permanent hiding and never having contact with most of one's family, save perhaps Paul and maybe Christine in the future (and those on a limited basis). I think he may well go into WitSec, as others have speculated since SB did say "never say never" to a comeback cameo (or more?). Frankly, I don't care. I won't miss him.

I'm going back to bed. The only time I lose this sick feeling at the pit of my stomach is when I'm asleep. Maybe I'll just have somebody induce a four-year coma and have them rouse me when this orange travesty is over or dead.

  • Love 16

I got a new cell and was so busy trying to figure it out that I barely remember what happened.

Paul finds out that Dylan is missing and there are bullet casings and some blood and runs off to Florida.

Neil finds out through Devon that Devon remembers and broke up with Hilary. Devon is mad at his family for not telling him the truth. Neil tries to get Devon to understand they were following doctor's orders.

Hilary approaches Lily at the GCAC and tells her that Devon knows and she's concerned for him. Lily was gleeful upon first hearing the news.

Phyllis runs into Jack at the GCAC. She asks Jack what he was doing with Gloria earlier. Jack says they were on a date and then Gloria shows up and puts her arm on Jack and says she can't believe Phyllis gave him up,  heh.

Lauren's backer backs out of the deal. It turns out he made a deal with Jabot though he doesn't tell her with who at first. Lauren finds out when she goes to visit Jack at Jabot and finds her backer leaving Jack's office. Lauren is pissed Jack is poaching all her potential investors. Jack says she should be flattered or something. I don't know, I was barely watching. Lauren wants to hear Jack's proposal again.

And that's really all I remember.

So the Jill and Billy scene was a nice look at the past.  I was slightly worried she was going to tell him his father wanted her to abort.

The drive by Chancellor flash back was a bit odd.  Talk about flash.

It's so dull.  I'm sorry, it's just so damn dull.  No longer infuriating, but my God it's dull.

And Canestipation and Lily having it off on the couch at that particular office... it's a shared office... in a laboratory... why not Chancellor Park?  They're so hot it can't stay cold... zzzzzz.....

  • Love 7

Oh my god, this show is so boring.

Reed is still being a dickish teenager. He's annoyed that Victoria has a babysitter watching the kids. Victoria leaves for work and the babysitter has a family emergency. Victoria asks Reed if he can watch the kids until she gets home and he insists that's fine. Except, instead of watching the kids, Reed invites a girl over and they start making out but are interrupted by Victoria and Billy. Victoria threatens to call the girls parents and Reed is mortified. The girl leaves and Victoria starts laying into Reed. Reed insists they were just kissing, not having sex or anything, and Victoria says Reed is too young for sex. Reed tells Victoria he's not too young, and besides, Billy told him what to do anyway. Victoria is not impressed and Billy looks like he wants to run far, far, away.

Devon wants Hilary gone and she cries and Chelsea finds her putting boxes out into the hall. Chelsea invites Hilary into her penthouse and Hilary tells her what's going on. Chelsea tries to console Hilary. A resigned Hilary says she should go and finish packing before Devon comes back.

Devon is talking to Jill at the GCAC. He's pissed and upset with himself and thinks Catherine would be upset with him for crashing the car, putting lives at risk, and not doing anything meaningful with the money she left him. Jill tells him Catherine was not a saint and would have forgiven him.

Earlier, Jill apologized to Billy for being a shitty mom. And she told him that John wasn't trilled to have a kid, feeling he was too old, and she sort of tricked him into it. Billy is surprised.

Lily misses the feeling she had when modeling. Lucky for her, Jill who is back at the office with Billy, sends a text to both Cane and Lily to come to the office. Once there, Jill says she wants Lily to be the face of B&S' men's line. Lily is ecstatic but Cane not so much. She says she needs to discuss it with Cane first but he says it's up to her. However, he's still being pissy and distant. He admits to Lily he just wishes he had been part of the decision making process but he's happy for her. Then they have nasty office sex.

I'm sure there's more but I think I ended up falling asleep.

Previews show Paul down in Florida. The forensics guy says it'll take a while to get a DNA match since the sample is so small. Paul says he doesn't care, he needs to know if it's Dylan! Great, histrionic Paul. Whoopie.

  • Love 11

I so agree @jewel21.  This show is painful to watch these days.  I want smack Victoria for being just about the most annoying mother ever.  She has not shown an ounce of affection for Reed since he came home, she is constantly putting him down and harping on everything.  So he's fifteen and sitting in his own living room and kisses a girl?  Call the cops, please!  Also, she berates him because he didn't ask permission to invite a friend over, at age fifteen.  She is nuts.  Why are they doing this to Victoria.  I have never been a fan of this character, but this is beyond stupid.

Lily and Cane...who cares?  I hit the FF as soon as I knew nasty office sex was going to occur.  They are a very weird couple.

Hilary seems sincerely upset to be dumped by Devon and there's Chelz, being her best friend.  Seriously?  Hilary, you were married to a billionaire and all you could do is play mean girl pranks on him and everyone and you are surprised that your marriage ended?  Look, I don't think she should be a Melania Trump doormat/or whatever else is happening there, but she never seemed like she wanted to be in that marriage and now she is upset and says she wants nothing from Devon?  Right.

Re the Jill/Devon convo, I was hoping she would tell him that a drunk Katherine killed Phillip Sr. whilst driving drunk.  They do seem to be positioning Jill as the new Katherine, the matriarch of the show (as opposed to Stepford Drinki).

  • Love 10

Poor Buttbiscuit. Jill didn't just trick John into creating him, she played a terrible, cruel prank on the audience as well. It was the ultimate long con, breathtaking in its scope. The viewers were treated to a series of tolerable Billys, including a charming Billy and an orange peel/dirty sofa hybrid Billy. We were lulled into a state of pleasant complacency, confident that we understood what a Billy Abbott was supposed to be. Then, BAM! The Buttbiscuit bomb landed, sending up a horrific nostril cloud and vaporizing all joy within the Genoa City limits.

There used to be a saying around these parts, that when assism came to Genoa City, it would come wearing a turtleneck and carrying a cross it could hop on when overcome with self-pity. Only the wise Jack Abbott keeps a supply of torches and pitchforks on hand. He's woke, but his fellow citizens still slumber.

Hot damn! Paul's finally going to bust a seam, isn't he? He just doesn't have the patience to wait for the dendrologist to identify the source of sap.

Victoria, upon learning that Billy told Reed about the sexay times, mourned for all the women Reed would one day disappoint.

About eight years too late for me to care.

Where was this speech at the height of Cane vs. Billy? This just feels like more propping to make ButtBiscuit tolerable and it's not working.

I think it works better with Jill, IMO., given her history with Kay, and she's got ties with more than just her family....There's Cane who she all but adopted even before marrying Colin, Devon whom I'm sure funds any Chancellor foundations still floating about; Jack, Ashley and Traci are her son's brother and sisters and her former stepchildren; for better or worse, Lauren is her bio half- sister.

Then you've got Nikki who is either stroking Victor's ego, babying the grown chimp Nicholas, or pissing on Sharon and....not much else.

  • Love 9

@miamama, I think you are correct!  I didn't watch the whole episode but caught the tail end and Dylan shows up at Sharon's house looking like he is feeling very guilty and sad.  And there was something about Fisk's people still being out there, so Dylan will most likely have to go into witness protection.

I am just glad they are not leaving her with the idea she had him killed.

  • Love 12

I was playing on my phone. I remember very little.

Lauren confronts Gloria for sabotaging her so Jack could take over her company. Gloria tries to play dumb. Lauren insists she has another alternative to Jack but wisely doesn't answer when Gloria asks who is she referring to. We later see Lauren on the phone saying she's looking forward to meeting someone tomorrow and Jack comes up just as she's ending the call. Lauren seems confident.

Paul is in Florida freaking out over Dylan and threatening Fisk who is in custody. It's all for naught though, because at the end of the episode we see Dylan show up at Sharon's place. Sharon looks on in surprise.

Earlier, Christine ran into Sharon and Mariah at the GCAC and said they couldn't locate Dylan and Sharon was convinced Dylan was dead, even with Mariah trying to convince Sharon not to over-react just yet.

Vicky is pissed at Billy for discussing sex with her 15 year old son. Reed insists that Billy is someone he still considers his step father. Alone, Victoria tells Billy she was only a year older than Reed is now when she first had sex with Ryan and she regrets her decision to have sex so young. Aww, I miss Ryan. He was cute. Eventually, an annoyed and frustrated Victoria kicks Billy out. Reed is pissed at his mom and calls her cold before stomping off.

Billy runs into Phyllis at the GCAC and they flirt. I tuned out completely at this point.

And that's all I can recall.

  • Love 11

Damn. Even the recaps are a snoozefest. That of course is no fault of Jewel, and she saves me 40 minutes a day of trying to sit through it; the show doesn't leave her much to work with that hasn't been done to death or anything in the realm of complete WTFery like the other remaining shows do.

I swear to DOG! if Victurd is Lauren's 'savior' from "mean ol" Jack I will lose my shit. I'm probably in the minority who prefers the business storylines  to the romantic (blech) ones. But here, again, I'm so afraid they will use this as another way to rehabilitate Victor's image at the expense of Jack. I mean, seriously, what was so terrible about the prospect of Lauren working with Jack, who has long been respected and trusted in both his business and personal dealings. I'm so sick of the selective memories of some of these people when in comes to Grampire's long list of misdeeds.

That isn't to say I would mind seeing another mover and shaker introduced into the mix. Just not another retread of Victor Vs Jack where Victor inevitably wins.

Ah, the scenic route.  Wouldn't it have made sense for Badgerbrainsandpelt to consult with Eric from the git-go?  After all, he's successful in the same area, fashion, and he would be inclined to help her.  More so than these random 'investors'.  If he couldn't finance it himself, he could put her in touch with people with a real interest in her plight.  I'm not up to seeing a romantic story between the two but it could create a little tension between Michael and Lauren.  Oh, and Gloria would be popcornandwine watching for me when she zeroes in on Eric.

The only reason I can think of is that she was trying to keep the fact that Fenmore's was circling the drain on the down low. Now that everybody knows, she probably just figures, screw it, I'll ask ol' buddy Eric.

Just saw the end of today's show. Dullen just walks into Sharon's cottage? With a stricken look on his face? And she just stares with her mouth open? Dare we hope they run off into the sunset together never to return again? Dare we hope?!!! Or is Sharon hallucinating? Dear God, no. At least, she's had that awful hair pulled out of her face for the past few days!! That was driving me nuts. On a nicer note, she had on a lovely dress today and looked really good.

I am not sure what's happening, are the episodes a day behind in some places? Today's CDN was an entire episode about the end of the Dylan storyline.  He returned to the cottage and told Sharon everything that happened and that he has to leave to protect his family.  Previews show Sharon telling Drinki.

And. More of the idiot Victoria storyline, but at least Drinki called her out on her behaviour (in a very kind way, mind you).  Drinki then stays at the FKB house and has a deep but also light convo with Reed.  He wants to know about her hard time story and she says, that is for another time.  I guess Reed does not have the google machine and has not googled the many scandals and crimes of his grandparents.

Between this kid's utter ignorance about sex and his utter ignorance about his own family, one might think he's nothing more than a plot device. But, no. TIIC would never do that. Or would they?...ominous music
