UNOSEZ June 20, 2018 Share June 20, 2018 I love when Octavia screws with Clarke... I'm glad she checked Clarke and Bellamy on their hypocrisy... I don't think Octavia wants to hurt maddi... If anything.. I think she's seen how Clarke turns her nose up at what she's become.. And just wants to take maddi away from her... So the sovereign of a nation(wonkru) has a battleplan.. That will seemingly wipe out the enemy and theoretically keep the land intact.. And because either A. Y'all didn't come up with it.. Or B. Some ppl you know might die... You shoot it down and plot some kind of treason... Ugh Clarke.. She's my low-key villian of the story 1 Link to comment
ParadoxLost June 20, 2018 Share June 20, 2018 The cannibalism hints certainly made what Octavia was actually doing with those bodies (dead and alive) more of a surprise. I am starting to find just about everything in the show is getting a little tedious. I'm losing interest (if I ever had any) in the workings of prison colony and Abby's addiction and Kane's feelings about that. I'm not really invested in Clarke's mama bear, its time to start the killing, protectiveness towards Madi and the she's the last Nightblood/Commander candidate stuff. Although that was absolutely a move Octavia was making against Clarke more so than having to do with Madi's nightblood. And I'm just completely over Bloodreina. 1 Link to comment
Sakura12 June 20, 2018 Share June 20, 2018 As much as I hated Jasper, he's right. If they are just going to do the same thing over and over again. What's the point? Everyone is just going to keep killing each other until the planet wins and there are no more people. Octavia is not wrong for calling Clarke and Bellamy out on their hypocrisy, but if she's going to keep killing her people when they piss her off she's going to be an army of one. She knew she was pissing off Clarke by taking Madi. She made that power move for her ego. She's impulsive and doesn't think things through enough. Cooper said the worm things might die before they ruin all the land. She's willing to risk everything on a maybe. What was she testing it on that on, those sad looking plants in the lab? Maybe the worms don't like that nasty stuff, she hasn't been to Shallow valley to test it on actual thriving food. Don't really care about Abby and Kane or the Prisonkru's sickness. Diyoza's pregnant? How was she hiding that? Echo will just throw anyone under the bus. But she got it done. Maybe Octavia should let her join Wonkru. 5 Link to comment
roctavia June 20, 2018 Share June 20, 2018 I definitely don't trust Cooper's assessment that the worms can't survive in a green environment... what did she do? Toss some in a pot of dying plants and see that they died? They survived/came out of primfaiya and have been surviving in the dessert with no hosts for who knows how long... potentially destroying the valley sounds like a stupid idea. But I think this whole situation is dumb... if people actually communicated before they started killing, and weren't all a bunch of hotheads (especially the half cocked prisoner guys) they could have made peace from the start... They are all that is left of humanity, quit killing each other. 3 Link to comment
Sakura12 June 20, 2018 Share June 20, 2018 I get they need a weapon to fight Prisonkru, but if the weapon could potentially destroy what they are fighting for. Is that really worth the risk? This continued fighting among the last survivors of humanity is what made me give up the Walking Dead. If there is nothing but more darkness at the end of the tunnel why would I walk through it? I don't know why Octavia can't think of maybe trying a peaceful solution. That's never even crossed her mind. She's to set on the Wunkru mantra of their only being one crew. Everyone else is the enemy. They are last surviving humans and she's killed off her most of her people in a fighting ring. Maybe they should see if they can work together. Diyoza despite her not trusting anyone seems to want the human race to survive especially if she's pregnant. 3 Link to comment
ottoDbusdriver June 20, 2018 Share June 20, 2018 Next week ... on a very special episode of 'The 100' .... Diyoza's baby shower. So who's the baby daddy ? Shaw ? Kane ? Bellamy ? Really don't like where they are going turning Abbey into a junkie. 3 Link to comment
taragel June 20, 2018 Share June 20, 2018 Why have Diyoza pregnant (presumably by McCreary) at all? It was a good twist but a weird choice in terms of storytelling. This episode kind of bored me. Diyoza doesn't seem totally tyrannical or unreasonable, so I don't understand why she won't negotiate at all. I wonder if they'll really pull the trigger on pairing her and Kane as they seem to be leading towards. Abby's a real mess. 4 Link to comment

Because she knows fanatics when she sees one and she took one look at Octavia and knew there was no compromising or peaceful co-existence. Except, of course, she'd already decided to screw them over when she made the deal with Bellamy. I find her characterisation inconsistent, actually. I'm pretty sure the person we're seeing now is the person she was supposed to be. Unfortunately, to make the season setup work she had to be different in the beginning. It's not that annoying because I feel like she and the writers have got the character under control now. 4 hours ago, ottoDbusdriver said: Really don't like where they are going turning Abbey into a junkie. I guess we're supposed to think that the pressure of the Bunker was too much for a woman who took the Hippocratic Oath and she used drugs to cope. Which is quite astonishing when we consider what she tolerated in the Ark. But still, drugs? Prescription drugs? In an underground bunker after two apocalypses 100 years after the collapse of human civilisation? It's a bit farfetched. Surely they could have come up with something better? 6 Link to comment
CooperTV June 20, 2018 Author Share June 20, 2018 (edited) Octavia trying to justify her human experimentation and the shooting innocent people in the back by whining "You did it first, tho!" was so funny to me. Like, girl, you're crazy psycho, stop making your shitty decisions about other people's previous shitty decisions. Indra is randomly... hating on Bellamy for killing the TriKru army and therefore being unapproachable for some reason, even though she was waxing poetics about how awesome he is in season 4 and only two episodes ago has hoped his love could save Octagon. The writing for this was just atrocious. Also I think she and Octagon are having the same conversation over and over and over again, with diminishing returns. Chris Larkin is the worst actor on this show, hands down. The material they keep giving him is really good but he cannot do anything with it. Bellamy being 100% done with Octavia and her manipulative behaviour with him was a highlight for me. As his interactions with SpaceKru. Clarke the Mama Bear is annoying and it's getting worse by the minute. And seems like Madi having her own agenda, if you could call 12-year-old's moronic actions that. The entire Abby the addict to endless oxycodon supply BS is tiring, and I don't care about Kane being a drug addict's long-suffering spouse and creating important boundaries and urging to get help or else. This storyline has no place in The 100. I've no idea why Raven is so invested in Shaw she's moved to tears by his suffering but oh well. Romances on The 100 are BS, what else is new? I'm on Echo's side here, though. Dyioza is really great. Can we keep her? Bellamy's hair is terrible. It looks like Clarke's terrible s4-the beginning of s5 wig. UNOSEZ June 20, 2018 Share June 20, 2018 I don't know where everyone is getting this... Oh let's just share with prisonkru idea... From the beginning they have been hostile... And most of them seem like bloodthirsty killers... They doublecrossed Bellamy the second they could... Now do I wish cooler heads would prevail. Sure... But that wouldn't be realistic... Wonkru is comprised of a bunch of warring tribes who've been stuck underground with dwindling resources... All they know is war... Octavia is the leader that type of culture will produce.. And really what has she done... She killed some defectors that she deemed as treasonous... And even that was partly to get echo onto the ship with her cover intact... To me her biggest flaw has been how Petty she is when it comes to Clarke... And all her messing about with maddi.... But even that makes sense on another level when you figure that some ppl may want a nightblood in charge... 1 Link to comment

Efzee June 20, 2018 Share June 20, 2018 I was half expecting Octavia to stomp her feet when she was having her little "speech". Looked and sounded like a child having a temper tantrum. She's also dumb to trust Cooper who went behind her back to breed the worms (if I heard correctly when she spoke to Indra about it), when Cooper has nothing to test whether the worms will or won't destroy/eat the valley. But then that's typical of Octavia, latching onto the first idea she hears (never her own, not even OneKru was hers - it was Jaha's) and then defending it to everyone else without thinking it through. For a moment I was wondering whether we'd get to see corpses chopped up, hanging in the freezer when Monty and Clarke went into the lab, but alas. I'm still not convinced the show will go down the cannibalism route, especially when the farm is practically dying and Cooper used the dead bodies and a live one for her experiments with the worms with no backlash from Octavia or Indra (because I doubt anyone's gonna want to try to eat those worm incubators after seeing how sick Octavia got from her infection). Abby annoys me. Show, give me an explanation about her addiction other than her resorting to pain meds after that botched experiment on her and Raven. Raven's doing fine and while Abby didn't get the same treatment as quickly (I don't recall what specifically happened back then), I just don't buy her addiction to meds right now. Unless she was forced into preparing the dead for food, but like I said, the actions in this episode seem to contradict the speculated cannibalism. Oh and Kane annoys me as well. Any chemistry he and Abby had is gone now and so is my good will/tolerance for them. He should start making himself useful again and that means more than a 10-second scene with the Colonel while talking to Echo. How come Maddi is such a good fighter? Did we ever see Clarke as a terrific fighter with a sword/in hand-to-hand? I don't recall. But considering the life they've been leading in the valley, I doubt they did a lot of training with swords/sticks and hand-to-hand, unlike the ones on the space station (and who had Echo, a rather good fighter, to learn from). I'm not sure about Octavia's motivations in regards to Maddi. She's so petty that I can definitely see her gearing up Maddi for the war just to spite Clarke, but it's also possible that she's hoping Maddi will be killed and she can say she was trying to mentor the young nightblood if there's backlash from OneKru when they realize she was a trueborn nightblood. It's always difficult to read the actions/emotions on a show when the writing isn't that consistent or strong and the acting is mediocre at best. Oh and I would be happy if Maddi is gone. Clarke has become so irrelevant now that it's all about Maddi for her. I would be fine with Maddi if she sticks with the other kids and we only see her every now and then with a training session or something. 3 Link to comment

As they were showing Monty and Clarke watching them (and them not being aware they were in there). I was happily surprised this was not the case. What they were still doing was gross and horrible to the one that is still alive. And as said in the show this strategy would not end good as it will infest the one livable area. I was disappointed that Madi gave herself up like that. She could have continued to pretend that she didn't know how to fight. Of course Octavia isn't dumb and knows that she has survived 6 years on almost on her own and that Clark knows how to fight and would clearly have taught her. patchwork June 20, 2018 Share June 20, 2018 I'm half expecting that there will be a twist regarding Octavia and Madi. Clarke and Gaia are so convinced Octavia is this big threat to her that I think that killing Madi will be something Octavia can't bring herself to do. Probably the redeeming moment for Bloodreina. To be honest I don't understand the nightblood rules, at some point they were all manufactured nightbloods starting with Beca and there's even some among Prisonkru so if you're only a true nightblood if you're born that way will Clarke's and Prisonkru's kids be classed as true nightbloods and eligible for the flame? 1 Link to comment

Jacks-Son June 20, 2018 Share June 20, 2018 I'm not a Clarke hater, I've liked her since season 1. She's beginning to assume command again, albeit behind the scenes. Her "diplomatic" approach to Indra and ordering the others to leave, was classic Wanheda. Octavia senses Clarke circling and made her power move by bringing Madi into Wonkru. Now, it's on. Clarke has now vowed to take Bloodreina down. Should be fun. Octavia is the better fighter, but Clarke was trained as a leader by her beloved Lexa, she's more than capable of taking her down. Don't forget Clarke, snowflake or not, has brought them all down. She single-handedly brought down A.L.I.E, and Roan, Lexa, and maybe even Anya, all deferred to her. Let the machinations begin. I just hope Clarke doesn't try to replace Octavia with Madi through petition of Nightblood protocols Madi is no match for Octavia, in fact, the only person who is, is Indra. Now THAT would be a fight to behold. Octavia needs to be taken down a peg. 5 Link to comment

Now THAT would be a fight to behold. Octavia needs to be taken down a peg. Yes you're right. I was wondering why Octavia didn't recognise that Clarke was her biggest threat but finding out that she had and apparently controlled a Nightblood woke her up to it. Trying to explain that Clarke doesn't care about power for the sake of power is pointless. Octavia isn't capable of understanding that and for most of her adult life Clarke has been the authority figure everyone defers to. Octavia's motives to Madi are not rocket surgery - she'll control her or dispose of her. And since you can control a child but not an adult, the disposal bit is going to come quite soon. The funny thing is, I feel like this season is retreading all the old themes (the endless quotes about "having to do the wrong thing for the right reasons in a TIME OF WAR" and the fact that Clarke always tries to stand back and live her life but is dragged back in when people threaten the ones she cares about. But something about a lot of these beats feel a bit more organic, maybe because we've had six years of character development. In particular, Clarke is a high-level logical and strategic thinker but because of that she's always five steps ahead of everybody else. She always had a tendency to tell people what to do based on her assessment of the situation five steps ahead and then none of them do it because they're not high-level strategic thinkers and they don't understand why they should do it and then she yells at them to just DO IT and that made them less likely to. And then what she was trying to avoid happens and then the next thing comes up and the same cycle repeats. Six years and some perspective has taught her some restraint and tact and that makes her a bigger threat to Octavia even than old Clarke because this Clarke doesn't barrel in and yell at people as her first tactic. You know despite the crappy setup and the handwaving, this season does have a plot and some better characterisation so it is much better than last year's. Sakura12 June 21, 2018 Share June 21, 2018 I could maybe buy Octavia has this great leader if she wasn't so petty. I understood the need to cull the population when they were running low on food and making criminals fight for their freedom. However it started to become if you pissed Octavia off or said something against her or something she didn't like she threw you in the fighting pits even people that have stood by her. Case in point, Indra trying to talk some sense into her and Octavia threatened to throw in her the fighting pits. I see people arguing that Clarke and Bellamy still see Octavia has a kid, how they can not see her that way when she acts like a kid when she doesn't get her way? She knew she was challenging Clarke by taking Madi and she did that to get a rise out of Clarke. I guess Madi's supposed to be a rebellious teenager by disobeying Clarke. Which just makes her annoying and I can't wait to see that bite her when she finally realizes that Octavia doesn't care if she lives or dies. I'm sorry but even if you don't like Clarke, she is smarter and more logical than Octavia. One thing you don't do is become a threat to Clarke's family. She's not called Wanheda for nothing. 8 Link to comment
Lady Calypso June 21, 2018 Share June 21, 2018 Everyone really does suck on this show in some regard. We've seen people go from mildly shady characters to outright mass murderers. Clarke's done it, Bellamy's done it, Kane and Abby have done it, so now it's Octavia's turn. I've hated each and every single one of them at the time when they've been at their worst, so it's no surprise I'm not a fan of Octavia right now. But for me, Octavia's biggest weakness is that she's on a power trip and desperately trying to cling onto it. Everyone's free now, which means they don't have to listen to Octavia, which means she needs to fight three times as harder to get them to listen to her. They may listen now, but I think she knows deep down that they'll turn on her sooner, rather than later. Her hope seems to be that they'll take over the Valley and then she can continue to rule over them, withhold resources, and whatever else. And her "bonding" with Madi isn't so much bonding as her bringing her closer so that nobody can touch the only Nightblood that could destroy her. She could very well like the kid (I don't personally think so) but she is also very clearly using her, in my opinion, to establish her dominance toward Clarke. She's taking Madi out to fight after one session, for goodness sake. She isn't there to be Madi's mentor; she's there to remind her crew that she's the leader. Also, I'll establish this: I wouldn't have as much of an issue with the Bunker Games strategy for culling the population due to a shortage in the food and whatever....if Octavia hadn't established the Games around day 50 for other reasons. Octavia's initial reasoning for the Bunker Games wasn't about food, but about punishing people who were being disobedient. I get there may not have been many other options there, but it wasn't about a shortage of food, so that bugs me. That bunker has gone through a lot of death, and Octavia does have more blood than Clarke and Bellamy at this point. She's culled more than 400 people. She can point out Clarke and Bellamy's mass murders all she wants; she isn't wrong that they've also killed massive amounts of people for what they thought were the right reasons. But they can also point out Octavia's high body count now, as well. Abby annoys me now; she never used to annoy me this much before. I actually wouldn't be sad, at this point, if she died. Kane is being frustratingly annoying again as well, which is a shame as he used to be a favourite of mine. I see there are going to be cracks in the Raven/Echo friendship because Echo sold out Raven's future boyfriend. I mean, it's typical Echo and I don't disagree with her methods. I get Raven had more time to establish a bond with Shaw, but I'm a little annoyed in where that may be heading. I want Raven to be happy, but I don't want her choosing a boy over her own Spacekru. Dyioza is seriously great. I roll my eyes a bit at the pregnancy reveal, but I get why they wrote it in due to the actress' pregnancy, and the eventual questions on why the character wasn't getting her hands dirty with fighting. They could have cast a stunt double in that case, but they went a story route. Plus, first possible baby post Praimfaiya? And also first actual baby for the show? 2 Link to comment

shireenbamfatheon June 21, 2018 Share June 21, 2018 (edited) Octavia can try to pretend the others are just as bad as her all she wants, it doesn't change the fact that even at their worst they still felt conflicted and, in Bellamy's case, felt genuine remorse for their actions. Octavia doesn't even see her opportunities as hard choices because she doesn't care enough for them to weigh on her conscience. When informed that Cooper was experimenting on living people, her reaction was to blink for a second before shrugging it off. When faced with the prospect of sentencing her friend Raven, who's currently being held prisoner by Diyoza, to a brutal and painful death, after Raven just saved the entirety of Wonkru a few days ago, she just shrugged it off and called Raven and the rest Bellamy's friends. This is what separates Octavia from the others; there is no limit to her brutality and no empathy to reign her in. On top of that, she's just throw-things-around-when-people-disagree levels of petty and incapable of introspection. I loved Jasper's letter to Monty and thought he was spot on in his assessment. Also pretty meta since the show really is going in circles, rehashing the same old character arcs and plot points. I still don't expect the season finale to end any differently than the others. If only The 100 had some nice things to say about humanity. Bellamy's sheepish hands-in-pockets stance when trying to talk to Indra was hilarious. I also loved his scene with Monty. These two actually have a pretty well-established friendship so I'm glad the show didn't ignore that. One thing that's disappointing is the lack of character interactions after six years apart. I'm thinking Bellamy-Kane, who have one of the better platonic relationships in the show, Monty-Octavia, who used to be friends but haven't spoken a word to each other, Abby-Raven, who eventually developed a mother-daughter relationship etc. This show is always so focused on the action-heavy scenes that they forget to capitalize on the smaller more intimate moments. I was just talking to a friend about this. They might as well have been apart for six months instead of six years for all it really matters. No one is processing anything emotionally, and we're at the season's midpoint already. This show really likes to follow in BSG's footsteps, and it's falling into the same pitfalls that show did where it became all about plot instead of about how the characters felt and reacted to things and interacted with one another. Disappointing. 3 Link to comment

thuganomics85 June 26, 2018 Share June 26, 2018 Finally got around to this episode, but I see that things haven't changed too much! So, Octavia and Cooper are now planning on weaponizing those bugs to take out Diyoza and her group, even if it will likely also kill Raven, Echo, etc. While Octavia had a point that both Clarke and Bellamy have sacrificed others for the "greater good," it still feels like the main issue is that Octavia hasn't exhausted all options, but always picks the path that will benefit her. She is all for having other sacrifice themselves, but she'll never be the one to put herself on the line anymore. And now she's gotten to the point where even Indra is close to being done with her. Yeah, I don't see her reign lasting for much longer at this rate. Echo basically forcing Raven to out Shaw as a spy in order to plant the drive was ice-cold, but effective. But that will no doubt be a major hurdle to overcome between those two. Way to take teenage rebellion to whole other level, Madi. Mom isn't letting you do what you want, so you go against her wishes and put yourself under the wing of the tyrant in the making, who will have no issues sacrificing you to prop up her reign. Diyoza's pregnant? I'm guessing the baby will somehow leave to Abbie finally finding a cure. Link to comment

I don't see Madi as being rebellious; to me, it's more like idol worship. She worships Octavia, though Madi did recoil from the Flame when Gaia, the Flamekeeper, showed it to her. Madi, with Clarke's guidance behind her and an inherent ability to fight, she did beat the bully who mocked her, would make an excellent Commander. I wonder what memories would come with the Flame if she were to have it implanted? Would she see Clexa? That would be awkward. I think Lexa made mention of such memories of her former lover before Clarke. Edited June 26, 2018 by Jacks-Son Link to comment
Ashlyc June 27, 2018 Share June 27, 2018 i might be in the minority. but i really liked this episode. this season is just so much better than the last. last season i caught up on netflix. i FF through most of the episodes. seemed alot of the same and the characters didnt grab me. this season is great. love the change in scenery. i miss everyone together but i like all the different locations. the characters, new guys, are pretty good. i like Diyoza alot. i agree the lack of development for how long they were all away from each other is lacking, but i mean this is the CW cant be perfect. all in all im really loving it. also the worms! finally we are getting a creature that was born of all the nuke stuff going on.
