The ratings were horrible for last week. I like to think that as soon as the governor pardoned Sonny for doing what Michael was about to do anyway, people were like "seriously?" and tuned out the next week. (But it was probably just some ratings trend sadly because DAYS was down too.)

I expect another drop in the ratings when Jason forgets AGAIN next week. Back to square one! Yay! It's only been a year!

It says Wednesday that something bad will happen to Spencer. Now I'm not very religious, but let us all hold hands and pray.......

Also, on Monday, omg! Sonny gets his new bff to like stalk his old crush, but he doesn't know it's totes his old crush! Omg! Like, what will Sonny do now?!

They've already practically reduced Wyndemere to the Regal Beagle from Three's Company. The Quartermaine drawing room looks like a suburban house. I can't imagine what's next for the Cassadine compound.

I'm not bothered by the kid in danger thing because isn't that the point of kids on soaps? To provide drama for the parents?  What bothers me is reading that Emma and Cameron have a tiff or something.  That to me is absurd.  Seriously two eight year olds fighting is supposed to be good story?

Yeah, soap kids run into that kind of danger all the time, when they're not being kidnapped.  But it's the treatment of the kiddie triangle, the "OMG yes, FINALLY Emma has ditched that loser Cam for the awesome, super cool Spencer!" vibe of the promo that irritates me.

And I mean, after watching it all I did find the rest of those kiddie scenes unnerving. Not that I think the show is run by perverts or anything or that there was some sexual component at all, but it's just strange and off-putting to watch these kids yammering on for endless minutes about who "wants" or "loves" who at ages 8-10. It was literally scripted and shot like any other adult love triangle scene and it was just bizarre and not appropriate. "EMMA. HOW LONG. HAVE YOU KNOWN. HOW JOSSLYN FELT??" Plus, the kids could not handle the reaction shots.

I actually think the kid stuff is kinda inappropriate. And I'm not old-fashioned at.all. Like, at all. But I still think it's inappropriate. And it kinda creeps me out how the young actors who portray Spencer and Emma are like, attached at the hip off-screen, too. At least from what I see from Ron and JT's Twitter sometimes. They just can't be mature enough to separate fact from fiction.

Honestly, if that were be the trade-off for consistently good writing, I'd take it. Luke's intervention took place in a warehouse or something like that and it was a pretty good episode (to bad it came to nothing, of course).

Soaptown spoilers

From the spoilers:

Something unthinkable happens to Spencer

He stops being an insufferable brat?  ;)

Oh God, let's hope the writers don't see that. "I know! We'll give Franco diarrhea! Surely people will feel bad for him now! And it's so cutting edge too! No one's ever had that on a soap!"

I laughed so hard I almost pulled my back out. :D

I just don't get it. They keep destroying older established sets to build gray ones that are 1/5th the size. Sadly decreased ratings during sweeps means less money which means more gray paint, even smaller sets and a continued decline in lighting.

Not one of those spoilers interests me. It's hard to believe this is sweeps.

Yeah, it's weird. I'm still annoyed they re-papered Maxie's apartment . . . the old wallpaper was so much brighter and nicer.

Sometimes the new wallpaper is the only thing that I enjoy about Maxie scenes.  Now if they would just put that wallpaper in Sonny's place(s).

ETA - Especially with Spinelli in that space.

Nikolas and Spencer can move in with Sam, since everyone else has at some point.  I am sure there is some unnamed purple room that nobody has mentioned yet that the Prince and his spawn can room in.  And than he can feel guilty every time he sees Sam and doesn't tell her her husband is alive and about to bang Liz.

It can be a new sitcom, Full Penthouse.   Starring Sam, Molly, Alexis, Danny, Spencer and Nikolas.  And maybe Spinelli can move back into his old pink room.

They plowed our east coast roads and we could get out. Thats why the ratings were down.

Would there be enough room? Maybe Spencer and Nik can live in Sonny's old PH instead. But they have no servants so they come over to Sam's place constantly to find out how to work their washer and dryer or find out why their dishwasher isn't working after pouring laundry detergent in the detergent cup.

Why destroy existing sets that are decent, though? I can see making the new ones cheaper, but why fix what ain't broke? It's not as if Windermere or the Qs need to be "freshened up." They're fine as is.

The Q set was freshened up. I noticed the new couch and had gone back to the Thanksgiving episode to compare and there were a few changes made. The paint looks different, it used to match the camel couch which has been replaced with a rust one. The window sheers were replaced with blinds. A lamp was removed by the two chairs in the nook and a table with a lamp was placed behind the couch. Vases were changed around and art by the desk and over the fireplace was changed out.

It's not bad, but I don't get why it's not mentioned in passing. Someone comes in and says they like what Monica or Tracy or whoever did with the place. They never mentioned the MetroCourt redecoration either until well after it was in and people commented on it online.

Recast Spencer with Hudson Yang and I'm there.

Hear me out...I am no fan of the current incarnation - spoiled brat and Ron favorite Spencer - ...but I wouldn't want him killed off.  The character has potential for the future they shouldn't extinguish.

Plus, they can't kill him because how would they explain Laura not being at the state funeral Ron would write.

Oh geez, really?  Whoever mentioned that Phantom of Wyndemere mask in the episode thread might have been on to something.

And are we going to see Nikolas swearing revenge against whoever started the fire while poor dumb Cameron stands around looking guilty?  It was a total accident, but I could see Cameron going right under the bus for Ron's proxy.

I hope y'all are ready for Spencer's long recovery with Franco: Art Therapist. It'll bring him and civilian Nina closer together, and make Josslyn look at her mother's ex in a new way!

And yeah, I can totally see someone else being blamed for Cameron's folly, while mean Cameron hides away in shame. I predicted that exact plot point last week pre-party, but I had no idea it might come so soon.

Apparently the new SID says Spencer suffers severe burns.

And has to get plastic surgery, after which he emerges as a SORASed brooding teen!  (And all the other characters in the quad get SORASed too so that finally their story isn't creepy with a side order of ick).

I could get behind that...

Or the specialist will be RB's new character.

I thought the Jake(son)/Sam talk today about wedding rings and was someone out there looking for Jake(son) was more supporting evidence surrounding that speculation about RB's character being hired to act as Jake(son)'s wife.

Because the current crap with Sam, Liz, Jakeson, and Patrick isn't tedious enough. So let's add a complete stranger and more idiocy! That's the ticket!

Oh, God, it's all so stupid if they do that. I'm assuming Nikolas would hire her if that's the role, because why? To cover his tracks? Didn't he just tell Helena and Sloane he thought it was all over and he was fine with it?
