I'm gonna stay delusional and pretend Sam isn't pregnant. This show REFUSES to give Billy and Kelly material and I'm wondering why....

Because they both sleepwalk through all of their scenes?

Ooooooooooooooooh you set me up so good for a KeMo/BM acting joke but I won't do it cause I'm nice that way. :p

And yes, you will have to wait a bit longer for your Sam/Dante/Jason triangle. And I put Dante's name in the middle on purpose. :)

Heh. I don't fully blame them, though. They have nothing to work with. I still don't even think Billy knows whether he's playing a Jason with memories, with some memories, without memories. Who knows.

I think I'm at the point where I don't think they should have recast Jason (I don't think he should have died either, though.) For one thing, I've rarely thought recasts work, especially those who don't study or watch the character and past storylines and interactions. And because this show doesn't care to write real emotions and stories. If you're bringing Jason back and he ends up secluded with whoever (whether that's Sam or Liz) and he's not interacting with other family members, his kids, his friends...it's not good story.

I can blame him.  BM was given an entire episode when he got his memories back and he tanked it.  He could not have looked more bored when Sam hugged him yesterday. He may not be getting the meatiest story, but he has gotten some emotional moments and has given nothing

And KMo has slept through her scenes for years.

That's cool. We all see things differently!

I'm actually thinking Sam isn't pregnant, but has Cassadine Curse-itis.  I mean, why else see Dr. Michael Easton, an infectious disease specialist?

I just took that to be a tease. Like, they think she's sick but surprise! She's pregnant! I dunno, I want to be wrong. It's the wrong timing for it. I'm just not interested, I guess. Too many baby stories does that to me.

We're really gonna have to wait until next year to see them act, aren't we?

And this is a huge UO I'll get shit for, but part of my problem is they've actually secluded JaSam so much at this point from family and friends. Having Jason have pretty much minimal contact with Sonny, Carly, Michael kinda...doesn't work for me. I KNOW. I'm ashamed.

IMO, the problem with Jason, Sonny, Carly, Michael, Sam is that they haven't given Jason an actual reaction that Jason Quartermaine nor Jason Morgan would have at learning Sonny murdered his brother, AJ.  It's the elephant in the room that the show needs to address and could provide actual drama and actually great performances for the show that it desperately needs now.  GH needs a story entrenched in drama, history, and performance.  Not campy bs.  A Jason at conflict with his previous actions would be shocked and horrified by what his alleged friend did to his brother and heartbroken that he didn't get to see his brother again.  It would affect him because of Monica and Michael.  The viewers know Sonny murdered AJ.  The new writers know it.  The actors know it.  (Ask Mo and he will block you on Twitter.) So, not bringing this up is killing the show.

Even if Jason knows about AJ, he won't give a shit. Aside from a few crumbs, and a too little, too late apology tour to Alan after he died, Jason has never given two shits about the Qs.

So his learning that Sonny killed him would no doubt be along the lines of how ol' evil FAT AJ deserved his fate. As it has been for around 20 years now.

That's not necessarily true. Jason acted out at first, but eventually made an effort with the Q's because of Robin. He started spending time with Lila, he went to Monica's trial, he went to Alan for Robin's HIV, he bonded with Emily, he had a good relationship with Ned, he even started to kinda talk to AJ before Carly crapped on that with the Michael mess.

When the Michael stuff happened,  Edward started plotting to take away Michael, which split up some bonds between Jason and the Q's, especially with AJ and then Alan's drug addiction.

Regardless, and yes, it happened after Alan and AJ died, Jason realized what he did was wrong. And he told this to Robin repeatedly. After Michael was shot and after he went to prison.

In short, I do think Jason would care that Sonny killed AJ.

Read on Twitter that Darby is thankfully not pregnant, but does have an STD and that Dillon, Kiki, and Morgan will all get tested.  I've said this before, but there is something really gross about this young female character basically existing to be slut shammed.

doesn't Jason already know that Sonny killed AJ? Fairly certain Carly mentioned it and if not, Jason was around when Sonny was in prison, so he would have been known at that time. he didn't know who he was yet, but he certainly knows what happened to AJ. And he hasn't had any reaction. In fact, he still went to Sonny once he regained his memories and professed his undying love.

I wasn't watching full time yet when this happened so I could be wrong, but I don't remember Jason being all that broken up when AJ was murdered the first time. Just as AJ wasn't all that broken up when he found out Jason had been murdered. IMO if Jason were to care about AJ being dead it's would because his death hurt Michael, not because he himself was sad about it.

Yes, Sake614, if I remember correctly Carly did tell Jason that Sonny killed AJ and there was no real reaction on his part. Even now there's been no reaction. He doesn't care.

I don't necessarily see this as the writers slut shaming Darby, I think this is their poor attempt at telling a *relevant* story about young people and their risky sexual behavior. Or something like that. The only person who has tried to shame her is Kaka, and her opinions means absolutely nothing.

Yeah, I'd agree that this is their typically lackluster attempt to tell a topical story (British soap "EastEnders" did a better, soapier job of something similar earlier this year).  As far as Darby, I think the difference is that Darby's sexuality and screwing Kiki's leftovers has been her only purpose, we know nothing else about her.

Only on this stupidest of stupid soaps can we talk about someone being murdered "the first time".

I think they're slut-shaming Darby because she'll get blamed for being patient zero, as it were. She's the common link, so of course it's her fault everyone might be infected. Especially if the dudes insist they were wearing condoms.

ETA: Though now that I think about it, there's no way anyone could be patient zero if the dudes wore condoms, unless Darby and Lauren slept together and then with the guys. However, I'm sure Darby will someone be blamed for spreading STDs throughout Port Charles by her slutty, slutty ways.

Actually, AJ was upset that Jason died.  He came back to comfort Monica.  He returned because Jason was killed.  His first few weeks were "I wish I'd made things right with Jason and my dad before they died/Carly and Sonny are lying liars who lie/I'm sorry/I love my son". When Jason knew Sonny killed AJ, he had no idea that he was Jason Morgan and that AJ was his brother.  It's never been revisited since.  If we can believe brain damaged Jason can fly planes, we can tell an actually believable story that the millionth bump on the head might have pissed Jason off that Sonny murdered his brother as he's never heard the recording and it's never been revisited.  Plus it's better than the bs now.

And, also, no one is allowed to care! Michael got to be pissy for what? Three months? They're all out of character. Including Jason.

And AJ being killed the first time and the reaction to it was a different story. The show tried to make him all psycho by kidnapping Michael and faking his death and shooting Alan and blah blah blah.

Jason realizing that he was in the wrong all along and apologizing to AJ's grave was kinda a big deal. I'm not saying he would be crying about his lost relationship with AJ, but I don't think he would just let it go that Sonny killed AJ for NO REASON.

Yeah.  When "Jake" learned he was Jason Morgan, hitman for money, he was disgusted.  He wasn't thrilled about how he treated Monica, Sam, and Alan.  He remembered a beach trip a million years ago with Carly and Michael to Florida.  But he couldn't remember his own brother?  Like not a mention?   Jason rambled on and remembered Helena, but not even his only brother?  Like AJ is Michael's father and the only actual biological child of Alan and Monica.  He's a big deal, writers and Maurice.

Oh, I get it. I understand why some fans, especially JaSam fans, like it. I'm just looking at it from a storytelling perspective. Jason and Sam haven't even spent time as a family with Danny. If the show wanted "happy times" for awhile, it should have been about that. Hopefully this pregnancy will be dramatic in some way, at least, because I just want to see Billy and Kelly do something with substance as actors. We were already screwed over with the Jason reveal and its LACK of consequences. And now they're in this Cassadine story that bores me outta my mind. Sigh.

Oh, me too. I too would have loved to have seen Jasam with Danny and actually really dig into more about Jason remembering. The struggle between being a father and Sonny's right hand man, etc. Really any storyline would have been better than the CI storyline. However, these writers suck at writing long term storyline that interest the audience. So, I might as well get my Jasam baby girl while I suffer through these months of more bland. Although, Kelly did say Old Sam is returning soon in her panel. I hope this is true. I am tired of nice and understanding Sam. I want the Sam that had edge back.

Don't get my hopes up! My favorite version of Sam is '07.  I know most hated it and thought she was trashed, but not me, lol. Unattached and gives zero shits Sam is long gone. I know I'm never getting that back. :/ She was just so much more kickass when she was single and did her own thing.

I liked it. I called shenanigans on her being there the split second that Jake was taken by her grieving subject for Everyday Heroes and how Lucky and Sam had another affair because those lying liars Liz and Jason weren't being at all honest to them and were the true bad guys, but zero-fucks-to-give Sam was awesome, and Lucky wasn't condescending to her and treated her with more respect than Jason every did.

I just didn't like how both Sam and Jason were written at various times in their relationship. Sam, specifically, would be written like she had no self-worth without him and it wasn't appealing to me. And Jason's priorities were always elsewhere. In 2007/2008, it's like she finally got to be her own character with confidence. Her scenes where she got in Sonny/Carly/Jason/Liz's faces were classic.

Anyway, that's the Sam I like that I never got to see again! :(

Yeah. Kelly has been hinting at some changes regarding Sam's character. I can't wait. Also I really loved 07 Sam too. Like that version of her was just amazing. I loved how she dragged Jason, Carly, Rick, and Sonny. Like she was just a badass. GH tried to make me see her as the bad person in the break-up, but I wasn't have it. I remember not even caring about anything Jason and just enjoying the hell out of Sam/LuSam.

Everything I'm seeing on Twitter about Nelle/Chloe Lanier makes it sound like Carly is all up in his grill.  Which, I guess makes a little sense given their work together in the anniversary episode, but ugh, I really want to like this character, but being all up in Carly's orbit isn't going to make it easy.

Yes, Chloe Lanier's character is separate from that dayplayer who tried to con Carly.  She's going to show up during Bobbie's birthday party tomorrow, I think, which makes me think she has some secret connection to the Spencers which, again, makes some sense given her work in the anniversary episode, but I still wish she was one of Lucy's kids.

LOL that's just speculation on my part - and it really did Valerie a world of good, huh - but Bobbie's birthday party as her grand debut + a bunch of screen time with Carly + the actress being involved with them in the anniversary episode seems to  = secret Spencer connection.

I am surprised they don't make her Carly's kid from her teen years. Of course, then she can't hook up with either Michael or Morgan

I could see that, Nelle as the Carly to Carly's Bobbie.

And of course, Carly wouldn't notice the hypocrisy that she came to town to ruin Bobbie's life for giving her up, but in turn also gave up a child as a teenager.

Really? I feel like the one thing BM's Jason gets right is how he acts around kids. He had good scenes with Liz's kids and again with Danny.

Link to comment

I feel like Jason doesn't remember he has two kids unless someone mentions their names or the word "kids." For someone who was dead/amnesiac for as long as he was, there is still little urgency to him being with his kids unless he has to be. We don't hear about him and Sam staying in nights so they can be with Danny, for example.

The kids are being written as plot points. It's not exclusive to Danny and Jake, of course, but I feel like it's really obvious when it comes to Jason. Like the writers think fatherhood would make him seem less tough and action-man-like.
