Mind Your Surroundings: Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow and Other Superhero Universes

Eh, I wouldn't take that list too seriously. They were ranking them according to the biggest plot twists/cliffhangers, right? The 'full grown daughter showing up' on The Flash would have been a bigger twist if they hadn't been teasing it since the season premiere. I haven't watched Legends, but isn't 'now everything is screwed up even more' per usual for their finales?

Riverdale and Supernatural are currently tied for the lead, with Charmed(!) in 3d place, then Arrow and Flash, etc...

I still havent watched the Flash finale! The episde before it was SO STUPID I don't have the will to watch the finale.

***

Question about Infinity War (I will spoiler tag it since no one online or in real life seems to want to discuss it for fear of spoilers):

Spoiler

I don't get the thing where Thanos chucks Gamora into the ditch to get the soul stone. Cuz the very act of him chucking her in means he doesn't love her that much so shouldn't it negate itself and he shouldn't get the stone? I mean if I chucked my kid in, it means I'm a crazy murderous mother so it's not a sacrifice, so no stone for me!

I see it as her being the most important thing/person to him and that qualified.  I think that whoever set up the stone to be obtained in that manner* made it so that the one who actually got it via murder would have consequences down the line.  Similar to how the Potterverse says that murder splits the soul and a maimed soul would not allow the person to truly move on after death.  I bet Thanos' soul is going to end up locked in the stone for eternity, or something along those lines, as his punishment.  I also have a working theory that the stone can be obtained without being a murderous douchebag (like giving up when learning of the stakes) but Thanos didn't think to ask because he's already a genocidal monster so of course he wouldn't consider alternatives because he's used to murdering to get what he wants.

*I don't expect us to find out who set it up so that the seeker would have to pay a price to obtain the stone, but I do think someone did.  Otherwise The Universe did it, which is kind of weird (even for the Marvel verse), and it would beg the question of why the other stones didn't have similar prices that needed to be paid?

He thinks he's done, so the gauntlet getting fried, and his arm getting burned, isn't bothering him.  He's at his vacation home to get that rest he mentioned but I'm curious if he really does think the universe is feeling grateful.  He's a psycho but he can't be that nuts.  Maybe he thinks it will happen over time.

I had a different interpretation.  Thanos was a true believer.  He thinks he is saving the universe.

Spoiler

And to save half the universe, he made the ultimate sacrifice, giving up someone he truly loved.  Even if his way of showing love doesn't match up with ours. I think we saw that it did hurt him but that it was the only choice he felt he could make.

Think of it from his perspective as the classic quandary of a conductor responsible for all his passengers, and he's pulling a switch on a train track that either kills everyone on board the train to save his single child or saves the hundreds of lives a the expense of his child.

Clearly Thanos had the option of NOT letting anyone die but he didn't see it that way.

I guess this means that "Walmart Batman" can no longer be used as a derogatory term...

By Steve Foxe  |  June 22, 2018
https://www.pastemagazine.com/articles/2018/06/dc-comics-announces-walmart-exclusive-100-page-mon.html

... Today’s news: a series of 100-page monthly anthology comics to be sold exclusively in more than 3,000 participating Walmart stores around the country.

Priced at $4.99 per issue, each 100-page anthology mixes existing story arcs from across DC eras with brand-new original content from creators like Amanda Connor, Dan Jurgens, Tim Seeley, Andy Kubert, Brian Michael Bendis and Tom King. Each of the four debut titles—Justice League of America Giant, Batman Giant, Superman Giant and Teen Titans Giant—will arrive in Walmart stores by July 1st, just over a week from now. Beginning in August, the Superman and Justice League of America issues will hit shelves during the first week of the month, with Batman and Teen Titans arriving approximately two weeks later.

“We are extraordinarily excited about working with Walmart to expand the reach of our books,” DC Publisher Dan DiDio said in a statement. “These new monthly books combine new and accessible stories with reprints of classic comic series. It’s a great way for new readers to get into comics and follow the characters they’ve grown to love in TV and film.”

Superman’s Brandon Routh flies into Perth for first Supanova

https://www.communitynews.com.au/eastern-reporter/lifestyle/supermans-brandon-routh-flies-to-perth-for-first-supanova/

Superman seems like so long ago that it doesn’t seem like it happened,” he said.

“I was 25 while we were filming it and I was 26 when it came out.

“(I feel like) the older you get, the more you realise how much you didn’t know at the time.

“I am more mature and more worldly now than I was then.”

Routh said he knew he had big shoes to fill when he stepped on to the big budget set.

“(I handled it) with a lot of naivety I think,” he said.

“Being 25, I knew I had a lot of work to do and I wanted to honour Christopher Reeves and the other men that had come before me.”
*  *  *
Now Routh is popular with a new generation of fans after securing another superhero role: Ray Palmer/The Atom in TV’s Legends of Tomorrow.

He said he was not looking specifically to bring to life another superhero character when the opportunity came along.

“I think I had put it (playing another superhero) out of my mind and that it was not an option,” he said. “I had played the biggest and best one, so who would imagine me as another superhero?

“But when this came, I jumped at it and not because he was a superhero, but because it was pitched to me with a lot of comedy.

“(Now) I have played Ray more than I have played Superman.”

Supanova is at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre from June 22 to 24.

Legends of Tomorrow and John Constantine actor Matt Ryan at Supanova Perth

LEGENDS of Tomorrow actor Matt Ryan starts filming the latest season of the hit show in July, but is in the dark about the plot as much as viewers are.

Ryan was in Vancouver on a break from filming the show, in which he plays supernatural detective John Constantine, when he spoke with Community News ahead of his visit to Perth as part of Supanova June 22-24.

But there is no point in trying to get some spoilers on season 4.

“I have no idea about the script, that is the job for the writer,” he said.

“They are back to work now (but) I will have to wait and see (what happens) as much as anyone.

“It has been great to play John over the arc.”
*  *  *
“This will be my first time in Australia; I recently went to New Zealand,” he said.

“I will go to Sydney and Perth and will have some time in-between; I am really looking forward to meeting the fans and looking around.”

The self-confessed sci-fi geek said he did not anticipate being caught up in the convention circuit when he accepted the titular role in the television show Constantine in 2014.

“I am a huge sci-fi fan, I was always a sci-fi geek,” he said.

“But before I took this role I wasn’t aware that conventions would be part of it

“I just looked at the role and wanted to play it and I was just happy they gave me a job.

“I have had some of the best times in the world (at conventions); you see some strange and amazing costumes.”

7 Ways 'Riverdale' Became 'Arrow' This Season
By RUSS BURLINGAME - June 21, 2018
http://comicbook.com/dc/2018/05/30/7-ways-riverdale-became-arrow-this-season/

Quote

I have a pitch for a TV show, and stop me if you've heard it.

It's a comic book show on The CW, and the lead is a young, handsome guy with a serious aversion to shirts and a penchant for melancholy brooding.

He spends a lot of time exercising, and a fair amount of time dealing with the sins and mistakes committed by his father and his father's friends.

He also spends a lot of time solving crimes -- or at least his friends do, while he is pretty much the muscle of the group. This cute blonde girl-next-door type does most of the actual crime-solving, but that's okay: our hero gets the credit anyway.

He also has a sidekick who is way more loyal to the hero than our hero is to his sidekick. This leads, inevitably, to some awkwardness but it is usually handwaved by the next week.

...Nobody has done that yet, right?

In all seriousness, this season on Riverdale seemed to mirror a lot of what was going on in Arrow -- and since those shows, other than being comic book shows on The CW, are very strange bedfellows indeed we thought it might be fun to look at the hows and whys of it.
*  *  *
One of the strangest things that Archie did this season was to put together a vigilante team of shirtless teenagers, whom he thought would somehow scare away a deranged serial killer by...I dunno, the power o abs.
*  *  *
Anyway, it's no Team Arrow -- but then again neither was Team Arrow this season, so you can hardly fault him for trying to fill a gap.
*  *  *
...Yeah, that's right. The CW had two shows this season where the bad guy won.

It was pretty depressing, to be honest.
*  *  *
...Oh, yeah. And both Oliver Queen and Archie Andrews went to jail in the final moments of their seasons.

1. ABSURD-SOUNDING NARCOTICS
2. A VIGILANTE TEAM
3. MAN, THAT'S SOME MESSED UP FAMILY STUFF
4. PARTNERING WITH THE MOB
5. THE POLICE ARE ON THE TAKE
6. THE BAD GUY WINS
7. THE HERO GOES TO JAIL

Is that what the scene with baby Gamora was about? When she was standing and waiting for him. Was that to show his loss and regret?

I think so.  I'm not sure if being from whatever race he was he could just live in his mind or it shows it cracked but yeah, I'd say it was to show where his heart was even after in his mind he'd just saved the universe

As much as I did like their chemistry (and like the sign that they might actually give Ray a plot), that's 10 regulars, not counting the recurring characters or even a villain to cast. Dang.

I don’t think they will. I’ve given up the hope that she would be a LOT series regular. However, EBR did say she was going the other shows. I think LOT will have to have their turn at some point this season..

Oh I won’t be surprised if she turns up as a guest star.  But even as a supposed “cross-series” regular a couple of seasons ago, she only made one small appearance. So I’m not worried about it.

Sony & Amy Pascal Developing Marvel Comic ‘Silk’, About Korean-American Superhero

Quote

Sony and producer Amy Pascal are in early development on a movie adaptation of the Marvel comic Silk, about Korean-American superheroine Cindy Moon, which was created by Dan Slott and Humberto Ramos.

In the comics, Cindy is a student in Peter Parker’s class who also is bitten by a radioactive spider around the same time as Peter. She gains abilities similar to his, though she is able to shoot webs out of her fingertips, possesses an eidetic memory, and has advanced Spider-Sense (known as Silk Sense) far stronger than Peter’s. She also has less superhuman strength than him but is faster.

While this project will mark the first stand-alone feature for Cindy Moon, it wouldn’t be the first time she appears in the MCU. The character was seen in Pascal-produced Spider-Man: Homecoming (played by Tiffany Espensen) as a member of the decathlon team along with Tom Holland’s Peter Parker. In Avengers: Infinity War, Espensen reprises her role briefly when Cindy is shown on the bus with Peter when he plants a distraction in order to get into costume.

Details are being kept under wraps, and Sony is not commenting.

Don’t ask me why, but I’ve just been assuming that the villain will be some combination of Nora, Ray (who has broken bad) and Amaya 2.0. It’s all based on rumor and speculation though.

Access Reel's interview with MR at Supanova Perth...

Vlog 3 – Supanova Comic Con & Gaming Perth 2018 – Matt Ryan
Published on Jun 23, 2018, by AccessReel

-- MR was doing the play, Henry V, in London with Jude Law when he got the script to audition for Constantine. He had long hair and a big beard for the play. The Constantine producers liked him and asked him to fly over, but he couldn't because he was doing the play. So they asked him to do another audition tape and to trim his hair and beard. But he couldn't do that either because of the play. So he ended up doing about 14 or 15 different audition tapes because the producers liked him but the studio couldn't see him as a blonde. So they sent the studio some pics of MR when he was bleached blonde for a movie called Flypaper that he did years ago. The studio still wasn't convinced.

-- MR said that he's going back to re-read all of the Constantine comics as he's "gearing up" to play John Constantine again for Legends of Tomorrow.

-- MR was under contract with Warner Bros. and NBC when Constantine was cancelled. He then "waited for ages" to see if Constantine was going to be picked up. It got cancelled. He got an offer to do a play on Broadway, so he went to do that. He heard "whispering" that Arrow wanted him to appear, but nothing official. Then he got the call two weeks before his Broadway play was to start, so he was already committed. So Arrow "swapped its episodes around" so that he could fly in, dye his hair blonde, shoot his episode, dye his hair back to black, and start his play run on Broadway.

-- MR said that his character of John Constantine will not need to be "tweaked" just because he's going from NBC to the CW (on Legends of Tomorrow). He said that it's the same edgy character.

Supernatural got a 3 episode cut for next season. Wonder how the rest of the dominoes will fall.

But that’s not new information. We knew that when all the episode counts came out and Supernatural is a MUCH older show and thus with with a much higher payroll cost.  It’s makes perfect sense they’d need to find their money somewhere in their budget.  Legends is at 16. And Arrow, Supergirl and The Flash are at 22.

Video of full GG panel, with Kevin Smith (KS) as mod, at ACE Comic Con (in Seattle) on Saturday...

Grant Gustin at Ace Comic Con - 6/23/2018
Published on Jun 23, 2018, by grantgustinnews

-- GG said that he starts back in a week to work on S5 of The Flash.

-- When he was introduced on Arrow, he knew it was a backdoor pilot and that there was the possibility of a Flash spinoff.

-- Glee was his first TV gig and his first time on camera.

-- He was unemployed "for a long time" before Flash came along. He was the first person to audition for Barry. He said that he didn't want to go to the audition at first because he didn't think he had a chance to play this "big, buff, blonde superhero," so he thought he was wasting his time.

-- This is only the third comic con that he's ever done.

-- He tested on the same day as CV. He only did a chemistry read with CP (Iris). He was cast "so early because of Arrow" that it was "almost a year later" that the rest of the Flash cast was cast.

-- When KS said that he was a WestAllen shipper, GG said: "Yeah, me too." When KS asked how they'll keep the relationship "fresh" now that they're married, GG said that he tries to stay out of the writing and that the only things he ever said to the writers about WestAllen was, "Let's not look for drama for the sake of drama," because it's The CW and they love drama and it's a superhero show. He also said that Iris & Barry were "the gold standard" and "so steadfast" that he didn't want to see drama for the sake of drama. He then said: "I imagine, if we can stay on the air long enough, we probably will see them have a kid." When KS said that we've seen that they do have a kid, GG replied, "I'm more thinking, like, a baby... but we'll see."

-- GG is getting the script for the first episode next week and he's meeting with EP/showrunner Todd Helbing on Monday.

-- Blah, blah, blah. (KS is really kind of an asshole.)

-- GG is sometimes surprised by how emotional a scene turns out (as compared to reading the script), esp. with him and CP.

-- KS and GG noted the repetitiveness of Iris' many "pep talks" to Barry.

-- A lot of talk about the many versions of the Flash suit (and their relative comfort versus discomfort).

-- GG said that he loved JLM because he was a "huge fan" before. He also said that TC was a lot of fun on set.

-- KS said that Barry Allen was "his own worst enemy" by creating his own problems by going back in time. GG said that he likes the time travel stuff.

-- On his fave villain, GG mentioned WM's Captain Cold (who's a "frenemy" now), LM's Weather Wizard, and MH's Trickster.

-- KS said that someone once described The Flash as being "like Dawson's Creek but everyone's wearing capes" and that "made sense" to him because he thought that "there was an emotional core," even though it's a superhero show - that it's the emotional story that we're attracted to, even though we keep coming back "for the spectacle."

-- When fan asked what will happen with their future daughter Nora next season, GG said that he didn't want to spoil too much and didn't know much anyway. He then said that she's trapped in our time, so Barry will presumably try to help her get back to her time. We'll probably also see Barry and Iris interact with their adult daughter. GG: "We're going to see a new speedster, so get ready."

-- GG never graduated from Elon University, but the university calls him an alumni anyway. He then advocated education and training.

-- Two young girls in a row, who got up to ask questions, told GG that they loved him.

-- When asked for his fave crossover and his fave actor to work with in a crossover, GG said that the wedding crossover was probably the hardest to shoot. He then said that the first time he went to Supergirl, that was "surreal" because they were in California (downtown L.A.). As for fave actor, he said that he wasn't going to pick Stephen or Melissa because he worked with them a lot and he loved them. GG: "But I think my favorite other actor to work with would probably be Brandon Routh, just 'cause he's friggin' Superman and he's awesome."

-- When asked about working with the different versions of Harrison Wells, GG said that Tom Cavanagh is who  he looks forward to seeing the most when he watches the episodes.

-- The Flash has made GG want to be a director, but he doesn't want to direct an episode of the The Flash.

-- When asked how many more seasons he thought The Flash will do, GG said that "at least three would be a safe bet" (taking it to 8 seasons). But he cautioned that anything can happen. KS said that he heard that The Flash will go for as long as GG wants to do it.

-- GG's fave movie musical is Singing in the Rain.

-- His fave thing about being the Flash is that they make him his own super suit. He has six Flash suits.

-- Adult male fan told GG that he also loved him "but in a completely platonic way."

-- The best thing that he ever pilfered from the Flash set was the "Central City Police Department sweat pants." He said that he wears them all the time. He also wears Star Labs stuff.

-- Another young girl told GG that she loved him.

-- The hardest scene that he ever shot was the time vault fight scene between present Barry and future Barry, during a TC-directed episode when they go to the future and we meet "long-haired Emo Barry." KS reassured GG that he "pulled it off" and was "able to out-act the wig."

-- Another young girl told GG that she loved him.

-- GG's fave season of The Flash is Season 1.

-- Fan congratulated GG on his recent engagement. In response to fan who asked about the difference between his show engagement and his real life engagement (because "not everybody's perfect like Barry and Iris"), GG replied: "Well, I enjoy my real relationship much more. Um, nothing against Candice. Uh, love her to - greatly... Obviously, it's very different. One is scripted for me and fictional. One plays itself out, and I love her very much in real life. So, I think those are probably the biggest differences." KS joked that it would be nice to have scripted moments in real life.

-- When another young girl got up to ask a question, KS asked her if she also loved GG.

-- Then a young girl wearing a red Flash suit told GG that he was amazing but she didn't love him.

-- GG said that his mom was his biggest hero.

-- Another young girl told GG that she loved him and also his shirt.

-- GG: "I would imagine, without a doubt, we will hear Barry say 'Run, Nora, run' at some point."

-- KS and GG talked about how "Run, Barry, run" has become a Flash classic. KS said that it was The Flash's version of "May the Force be with you." GG said that he's already been asked to sign that multiple times that day.

-- GG said that he thought Barry was a better man than him and that he tried to emulate him (empathy, humility).

-- On which Marvel superhero he would want to play, GG picked Spider-Man, even though he loves Tom Holland and also Andrew Garfield.

-- On his most embarrassing scene, GG said that he was most embarrassed to shoot the scene where he slid out in his underwear with a spatula in his Risky Business moment, because he has "chicken legs." He also said that his most embarrassing moment that didn't air was when he was shooting a scene for the finale and he kept dropping the champagne.

-- GG said that he was "really fast" as a kid. However, GG: "I don't like running." He was never into sports and never ran track, but instead liked musical theatre.

-- When he first reads a script with scientific jargon, he doesn't understand it. However, when he actually says it on the show, he'll have looked it up or asked someone for an explanation. So he understands what he's saying when he says it on air.

-- Young guy said that he's watched the first season of The Flash 18 times. KS: "I'm with you, man, right there. I too have wasted a lot of my life."

-- When asked whether he prefers playing the hero or the villain, GG said that playing the villain is more fun and more interesting.

-- KS then directed GG, who demonstrated how they block the "zoop in" by the Flash.

Brandon Routh - Supanova Perth Interview - June 2018
Published on Jun 24, 2018, by BB11673

-- On why there was no sequel to Superman Returns, BR said that he wasn't the person to ask, but then he said that "money, studio politics, and a lot of other things come into play in order to make a film happen or not happen... didn't happen with that one."

-- Christopher Reeve is still BR's favorite Superman. BR said that he's met Tom Welling and Henry Cavill, both briefly. He knows Dean Cain the best and has played basketball with him in L.A. "quite a bit" and also met him at conventions.

-- BR said that Chuck was "challenged by the writers strike" in its first season and that fans did a good job of getting it resurrected (Subway fan campaign).

-- BR said that he loves playing Ray and that he was "hired on" to play Ray Palmer "to be the levity and to bring the humor into Season 3 of Arrow, and that's what really sold me on it." He then got to continue to do that "and to a different degree" on Legends of Tomorrow. He said that they have a "lot of fun."

-- He said that there's a "family" aspect to having all these different shows in the same universe and that when they get to work together across shows, it's like a "family reunion." But they also get to create new relationships. The big annual crossover is "an epic event each year" that fans like to watch.

-- He mentioned that it was nice seeing Carlos Valdes and Juliana Harkavy (also at Supanova Perth), since he doesn't get a chance to work on Flash or Arrow that often. He said that they're so busy working in Vancouver that they don't have much opportunity "to be social and have dinner or meet up for coffee, and that kind of stuff," so when they go to comic cons, it gives them a chance to do all that with their Arrowverse friends.

SATURDAY, JULY 21

****

11-11:45 AM:  Black Lightning Special Video Presentation and Q&A — Jefferson Pierce (Cress Williams) made his choice: he hung up the suit and his secret identity years ago. But with crime and corruption spreading like wildfire, and those he cares about in the crosshairs of the menacing local gang The One Hundred, he must return as Black Lightning — to save not only his family, but also the soul of his community.  Join series stars Cress Williams, China Anne McClain, Nafessa Williams, Christine Adams, Marvin “Krondon” Jones III, Damon Gupton and James Remar and producer Salim Akil for an electrifying look at season two!  Based on the characters from DC, Black Lightning is from Berlanti Productions and Akil Productions, in association with Warner Bros. Television, with executive producers Greg Berlanti, Salim Akil & Mara Brock Akil, and Sarah Schechter. Black Lightning returns to The CW on Tuesday, October 9 at 9/8c. Ballroom 20.

****

3:30–4:15 PM: Supergirl Special Video Presentation and Q&A —  Season three saw Supergirl stop Reign and the other Worldkillers’ threat to humanity and our planet, and in the process, Kara was shocked to find her mother Alura alive and living in a salvaged Argo City that survived the destruction of Krypton. Reconnecting with her past caused Kara to realize that her true home is now here on Earth, where big changes are taking place for her and all of her friends in National City – and also, it appears, for a doppelganger in Russia! Season four promises to be full of surprises, action, adventure and lots of big revelations for Supergirl, Alex, James, J’onn, Lena and Brainy.  Join the series’ cast, Melissa Benoist, Chyler Leigh, Mehcad Brooks, David Harewood, Katie McGrath and Jesse Rath and executive producers Robert Rovner, Jessica Queller and Sarah Schechter for a special video presentation, followed by a Q&A where they’ll discuss what’s to come and more! From Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, Supergirl’s fourth season will premiere in its new Sunday 8/7c time period on The CW starting October 14. Ballroom 20

4:15–5 PM: Arrow Special Video Presentation and Q&A — There has been no shortage of close calls for Oliver Queen when it comes to protecting his Super Hero identity, but in the season six finale, he was finally backed into a corner and forced to reveal himself to the world as the Green Arrow. Now, Oliver will come face-to-face with many of the criminals he placed behind bars, as he makes a new home for himself at Slabside Maximum Security Prison. Oliver will find himself vulnerable in a way unlike ever before when a mysterious new enemy begins to unravel his work as Green Arrow, challenging him to redeem his name or risk losing everything. Join series stars Stephen Amell, David Ramsey, Emily Bett Rickards, Katie Cassidy, Echo Kellum, Juliana Harkavy, Rick Gonzalez and Colton Haynes and executive producer Beth Schwartz at their annual Comic-Con panel to be among the first to learn more about what this means for Oliver and the rest of his team. From Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television, Arrow will return to The CW on Monday, October 15 at 9/8c. Ballroom 20

5–5:45 PM: DC’s Legends of Tomorrow Special Video Presentation and Q&A — After defeating Mallus by cuddling him to death with a giant stuffed animal named Beebo, the Legends were ready to ease off the gas. That was until Constantine arrived to inform them that, in solving one major problem, they have created another, much larger one. When the Legends let time crumble in order to release and defeat Mallus, the barrier between worlds softened. History is now infected with “Fugitives” – magical creatures from myths, fairytales, and legends. Having been expelled throughout time by people like Constantine, these Fugitives are now returning to our world in droves and making a real mess of things. So when all hell breaks loose, who ya gonna call? That’s right, the Legends! Join the cast and creators of The CW’s zaniest Super Hero series – stars Caity Lotz, Brandon Routh, Dominic Purcell, Nick Zano, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, Tala Ashe, Matt Ryan, Jes Macallan, Courtney Ford, showrunner Phil Klemmer and producer Keto Shimizu – at their annual Comic-Con panel for an in-person look at what makes this time-traveling crew tick. From Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will return to The CW on Monday, October 22 at 8/7c. Ballroom 20

5:45–6:30 PM: The Flash Special Video Presentation and Q&A — Matching wits with The Thinker, who by season’s end had harnessed the powers of all twelve bus metas he created, stretched Team Flash to their limits, but with the help of some new allies, Barry Allen (aka The Flash) and company were able to put a stop to the Enlightenment and save Central City once again. However, with the arrival of Barry and Iris’ speedster daughter, Nora, who arrived from the future admitting to having made a “big mistake,” things are anything but status quo. Will parenthood be the challenge that finally slows The Flash down? For answers to this, and all your other Season five questions, please join the cast and creators of The CW’s highest-rated series – stars Grant Gustin, Jesse L. Martin, Tom Cavanagh, Candice Patton, Danielle Panabaker, Carlos Valdes, Hartley Sawyer, Jessica Parker Kennedy, Danielle Nicolet and executive producer Todd Helbing – at their annual Comic-Con panel. From Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television, The Flash will return to The CW on Tuesday, October 9 at 8/7c. Ballroom 20

At least they’re not doing a combined panel.  What year was it they did that?  It was right before Arrow season three, (so, 2014?) because CL was there and they were all hiding the fact that they’d just finished filming Sara’s death scene.
