Wow. It's kind of astounding how good it feels to see the words "Beloved Dean Winchester" in a print medium that's still considered "professional" for the most part(in some cases; and more or less. Heh.).

LOL! Are you inferring that it will only be a matter of on air minutes before Dean is out of Michael? In other words, probably won't even last a whole episode? I don't read spoilers, so it truly is a guess for me whether TPTB are actually going to let Dean!Michael last for awhile or not. I'm thinking "not", so my question was really sort of sarcastic. Sorry.

Alas, with about 42 minutes of air time per episode,  I think it's sadly possible that his time could be measured in minutes.

This seems to be the consensus. Dean is charismatic for sure and I'll miss him too.  

Ohhhh - but I just long for something different.  For Jensen to have a chance to flex his acting muscles.  Even when we have Dean, he's not respected by this motley crew in charge anyway.  The marionette fight for instance.  I still cannot believe Jensen voiced his feelings out loud at the convention even going to the point of acting it out with Rob.  Bravo, Jensen!  The cheers from the crowd were music to my ears.

Yeah I think that fight scene was universally despised by 99.9% of the fandom.  I do have to commend the fans for not asking Jensen about it specifically though.  At least they are trying to respect how awful that was for him.

I'd like to think that absence will make the heart(s) grow fonder (looking at you, Mom), or at least lament his loss and be happy with his return. But sadly, I think it will only make them shake their heads at how dumb Dean is/was to do it. There was pretty much zero response to him not being dead as a result of the soul bomb and confronting the Darkness*, so I'm not expecting any emotional payoff when they save him from mere possession.

Which is why I, personally, want to see Jensen at least get the chance to show us a badass Michael. He deserves it.

*Remember that most powerful, dark, evil force the universe has ever known? LOL, I crack myself up.

seems to always be the consensus is why the show has become so stagnant and predictable. And honestly why should the showrunners or writers not be lazy and careless about the show when all it takes for a majority of fans to be happy is to have "Sam and Dean" be on the show "together". If that's the message they are repeatedly getting, there really is no point in putting more effort into the show when they get paid and praised for just supplying those two requirements. 

It reminds me of Jensen's comment at the SDCC before S6 when they were talking about what was new in S6 and someone from the audience pointed out that Dean had his shirt tucked. 

Ben Edlund's comment afterwards states, "We've obviously been trying too hard as writers." Unfortunately, I think this current group took that a little too much to heart.

I'd give my eye teeth for these spineless writers to just ignore the "consensus" on Twitter-because that's the only place that it's the "consensus", IMO.

I think all writers of all shows should just pretty much ignore what fans say.  And, I don't mean that they shouldn't care about fans, or take them for granted.  But, it definitely does have a detrimental effect on any kind of art, if you're writing for mass appeal, or what you think is the mass appeal, versus what you want to write and what is just coming naturally.

However, I think Dean being Michael at all is a result of them listening to Twitter (or wherever), so there's that for those of you excited by this.

My theory is that Dean being Michael came about more out of their(the PTBs-all of them, even as far up as Roth) fear of losing Jensen-not Twitter, in this case, because again no few in the Dean fandom have been begging the writers for Mean since S4, when Twitter didn't even exist. It think Mean came about because Jensen knows and wants to recognize his own fanbase wants and desires for him(as opposed to just and simply bi-bro wants and desires for him) more and better than any of the writers/showrunners on this show ever have, with the possible exception of Kripke, who still punked out on doing right by Dean and JA at the very end of his tenure. All JMO, of course.

Of course you're correct. I was just focused on Dean being Dean again, so I accidentally reversed it. I, too, would love for Dean!Michael to go on for at least a few episodes because Jensen could sell the hell out of it and we know we'll get Dean back eventually. If you want a contest, go for it, but it should be placed in the Dean thread I think.

Not sure where the correct place to ask is, but do we know why Jensen was doing these interviews alone? Is Misha there yet? Is he still shooting? And I know Jared is there and played golf in the morning and saw some fan photos so it seems he's okay. Not complaining at extra Jensen time (heheh) but it's odd, no?

My guess is maybe with Jared's comments on line yesterday that perhaps he wasn't up to the interviews, or both Misha and Jared will have solo interviews themselves.  Misha was there because there is a pic on Twitter of him, Jensen, some of the Arrow and Supergirl cast (sans Amell) together.  Then I saw mentions of Jared and Amell being spotted together.

Ah, okay. Were there more comments besides the odd birthday Instagrams? If he's there and making the rounds, maybe he's saving it up for Sunday when the real SPN attention is on.
