They proceeded to tell us everything that would be included: A gorgeous wedding dress, shoes, veil & jewelry for me to wear, a suit for Trevor, professional hair & makeup, a wedding planner, flowers, wedding cake, an amazing venue, AND the best part of all.... 16+ photographers to capture every moment for our special day!!!  Could we get any luckier?!

From her blog.

To me that looks much cooler than the jump split and make me much less nervous to watch. I'm always afraid some girl is going to get really hurt doing those jump splits. And yeah when did that change? @ShellyB could you tell us when the change to the jump splits occurred, did you do the waterfall kick or jump splits or both when  you were a DCC?

Jump splits have been around since '89. This was just part of a different performance.

Did Tasha have any GUESTS at her wedding, or just photographers?  She is my least favorite rookie, hands down.  I don't even think she's that pretty, at least not in a natural way.

ditto - I'm with you.  I can see why SHE would think she looked like Barbie but I am just not a fan.  Too fake and too much

Who cares?  It is HER wedding- she can have whatever she wants!

I think we're way funnier on here lol. I'm sorry.

I'm not a Megan fan anyway. I can't get THAT story outta my fool head. But this has me dying. Also, what the hell's that bump?! Her liver?? I can feel mine through my shirt most of the time, but I don't have to be in a DCC uniform.

The triple chin does not help her at all...even though I know its the way she is holding her head. I think the bump is the outline of her rib cage bulging out.

Listened to the FB chat with Lacey and Robin.  Was surprised that it wasn't the usual run of the mill questions.  Lacey speaks well and Robin is sort of trying to find her way but enjoyed both of them.

I agree, and I was surprised at the end when Robyn and Jenn K both said they didn't make t their first audition.

Jenn K didn't make it the first time she tried out?? wow!! that really surprises me; she seems like such a natural all-around.  I haven't watched their chat yet - will have to check it out tonight! Love Robin, she is so adorable.

I think they say it at the very end. So many really great girls make it their second time.

I'm not bustin on my girl Danielle, but this is nothing short of soft core porn. At least Danielle rocks it. Amy T's is actually funny, in that she's about as sexy as Erkel. http://www.dallascowboys.com/video/2016/09/28/dccswim-danielle?sf37570521=1

I couldn’t finish watching; it’s pretty stupid. And Danielle is my favorite DCC so...

They all have to try out, but they can note that they do not want to be considered for SG.  I heard this from more than one inside source this year.  For instance, Kelsey and Cersten (believe it or not) were two rookies who checked that they did not want to be considered for SG.  I had also specifically asked about KaShara because I couldn't believe she didn't make it and thought maybe she didn't want to be considered, but she is one who DID.  Now that I see her audition flub tho I kind of understand why they didn't take her this time :-/ I think it's good they require everyone to be a part of the audition process even if they arent actually auditioning for a spot; good practice for sure.

I was at a baseball game Saturday night (my poor Mariners, lol) and when it looked like they might come back and win they told everyone to stand up and they played Thunderstruck.  I had a hard time not doing the moves in the stands.  :)

I so miss going to Mariners games now that I live back in Dallas!! So much fun and so many kinds of beer and cider to pick from ? It's too damn hot for me to enjoy Rangers games, especially since the Ballpark is so far from where I live. Bah, humbug.

Thunderstruck is definitely in my top five favorite songs ever. Great for workouts, pretending I'm a DCC and played at so many sporting events. Takes me back to college days too. My heart gave a littl cheer the first time I saw the Apple commercial.

Wow, just clicked on the link above for Tasha's blog, and my jaw dropped at the first entry that came up--I can't even look at another. Title of her entry: "How to Look & Feel Like a Trophy."  That goal is wild, and kind of sad, to me...and her ensemble to achieve that was so freaking tacky.  Yes, the girl clearly wants to look like a Barbie...from like 1992.  Rhinestones on her cutoffs, enormous (ginormous, actually) bow on her purse, that lipstick she loves, and a t-shirt that reads in all caps across her fake boobs: TROPHY.  Gee, I wonder what her daughter will be like when she's 16.  Very deep, I'm sure.  Tasha should have put "trophy" for her career, since she puts so much effort into being and looking like one.

Spot.  On.  I hope her daughter has some other strong female role models in her life because I'm pretty sure walking around with a Trophy tshirt isn't exactly sending the right message to impressionable young kids.  It is sad and I'm a bit annoyed she's on the team ... I feel like she's not a great dancer and frankly too tacky to be on the squad.  Such a shame they couldn't look past her blond hair and thin long legs.

Disgusting. How to Make Yourself An Object only Worth Something When it Looks Tacky and Fake. It's what's one the outside that counts, right?

i feel sorry for Tasha if her entire worth and purpose of being is to look like a trophy. How pitiful.

No wonder she's had three marriages.

I regret starting to defend her. Shoulda stuck with my original gut feeling that she's a more vapid flake than another DCC we've seen.

  • Love 6

Yeah - that's pretty vapid of Tasha, and I actually wonder how Kelli would feel if she saw that blog - to me, posting something like that is just "not befitting of a DCC" - even though some of them do seem to have trophy wifedom as a Iong term goal, to come right out and publish it so blatantly is just very tacky.

  • Love 4

Tasha definitely has the DCC look, and is clearly a good dancer.

And there is nothing wrong - in and of itself - with maintaining a self-marketing, lifestyle blog.  Several former DCCs have done so, and these promotional sites are by their very nature somewhat self-absorbed and self-referential.

Given Tasha's interests and tastes, as reflected on her site, I think she is not only CMT's DCC Making The Team material, but also perfect for Bravo's Real Housewives of Dallas.  I believe Bravo is now considering whether to bring back the Dallas franchise with a slightly different cast.  Someone should tell them to look at casting Tasha.

Here's me plugging diet coke

Here's another one five of me with my husband gazing longingly at me. Aren't I gorg?

Here's a picture of someone taking a picture of me. Did you see me in the pic?

Here's me getting felt up by my husband. Do you see how hot he thinks I am? Almost as hot as I THINK I am! Isn't that a gas?!

Here's an article you all can use:

She may be a sweet person, but this level of self-absorption and vapidity are telling character attributes. Syd, you've been replaced.

@QuiteContraryMoni your parody is spot on.  You are clever, funny, and yes biting, yet with an obvious heart towards this show and its participants.  Also, your writing is exceptionally good and always relevant.  The DCC organization should take you on as an editor and writer for a "new" DCC lifestyle blog.  I would happily read it.

Kelli F does not like rhod. No way rhod material is the same as dcc material. You could tell kelli was not pleased with that former dcc on the show.

I agree with both you and Kelli.  My suggestion that Tasha be cast on the RHOD was made tongue-in-cheek.

Nearly Eight Minutes of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders from the early 90s.

The dance style was much more spastic and jerky.  It amazes me these girls didn't faint from heat exhaustion at Texas Stadium.  The blonde in back row around 6:42 looks like she is wiped out when she dances.   Kickline and field entrances are different.

FINALLY!! I knew I remembered the squad dancing to the theme song from Dallas. I asked a couple of times but this is the first time I've seen footage on the boards. Thank you!

Quote from Tasha's FaceBook page: "As a mom, it has always been my goal & #1 priority to be someone my daughter looks up to. A role model. Nothing brings me more happiness & inspiration than hearing my little girl say, "Mom, I want to be just like you when I grow up." Miss Ivy is a dreamer with a sparkle✨ in her eyes, and her future is so bright... ?? Dream Big baby girl!"

DCC Tasha a great role model for her daughter?!?! (cough cough) I beg to differ. http://www.flexonline.com/galleries/npc-usa-bodybuilding-championships-2013/natashalee-smedley-class-d-bikini-2013-usa/slide/all

I guess if you want your daughter to be a self-absorbed, playboy bunny looking, narcissistic, spotlight loving 25 year old woman than yes. DCC Making the Team failed to mention that Tasha had to resign her crown as Miss Teen Utah because she got knocked up during her tenure. They glamorize it and make it their "inspirational" story on their first episode? Sorry, I threw up in my mouth a little bit.

Tasha getting pregnant is not the worst thing she could have done. It's not ideal, but things happen... especially in a state that doesn't promote safe sex and tends to only promote abstinence. She seems happy and healthy, her child seems happy and healthy, what more could society (we) demand from her? I've watched 16 and pregnant, Tasha had less exposure to work with and she made a business/brand out of herself unlike those girls. It's not everyone's cup of tea but nothing is ever everyone's cup of tea.

Body builders dress and pose like that, but it's not for everyone. Hopefully her daughter grows up to be open minded and non judgmental. Hopefully she's inspired to go after her dreams whatever they may be. Hopefully she learns from her mom's mistakes and successes and is better than her. Isn't that what most parents want for their kids?
