Although I don't want Eric and Nicole together, they did have a big rekindling of their 90s relationship last year. I think you typically only watch when Kristen is on, right? They got together during one of the non-Kristen periods, and he asked her to marry him and she accepted. Then he found out about some lies of hers and broke up with her, and Nicole has been mostly pathetic ever since - forced to go around endlessly apologizing and whining.

Martha Madison Returning To Days of our Lives!

The announcement that has been percolating all day long on social media was that Martha Madison had something very big that she was going to reveal during Thursday’s episode of her TradioV series with Lilly Melgar,  Soap Box!

And for those hoping that the news would be that Madison is returning to Days of our Lives for the show’s big 50th anniversary push, that has proved to be true! Martha IS returning to the NBC soap opera to reprise her role of Belle.  The news of a Belle return could not be more perfect in timing, since it has already been confirmed that Jason Cook is back as Shawn-Douglas, and the series has aged and recast Shawn and Belle’s daughter, Claire.

Look for Martha to make her first appearance back in Salem on the Wednesday, November 25th episode. and look for her debut later in August in the new online series Winterthorne!

I  have a feeling that you are indeed correct and that Abi is pregnant and probably gets kidnapped by Andre or Stefano. The baby will be for Chad. Ben will date Gaby who gets released possibly due to Victor's machinations behind the scenes after Sonny leaves Will and Ari.. I think Paige is going to die..Rumor has  it that True is no longer taping....

Wait, Paige is going to DIE?! Yikes, that's pretty harsh, writers.

True  has not been taping at all. People have speculated that Paige dies.. I think Paige may spiral out  of control leading to her death....The show never integrated Paige in the Brady family as she should have been. She is  Shane's granddaughter. She should have been close to John as well. John and Shane were very close, especially they were trying to take down Victor. That  is my main problem with Tomsell's writing the characters are too isolated from another..I miss the days when characters would sit down, chat to catch up, give each other advice and encouragement....Will and Theresa have yet to interact with each other and introduce their children to each other....That is insane...The same goes for Theresa and Chad...They would sizzle with one another....I wish Theresa would go by her first name Jeannie, it would re-affirm her connection to the Brady family and to the audience..It is like Eric going by his middle name Roman...I hope the new regime fix her characterization...It is hard for me to accept that Shane and Kim would have a sociopathic kid like her...

Too often over the last few years (especially with TIIC on GH), soaps will gratuitously kill off characters instead of writing them out.  And then the cesspool characters hang on and on and on . . .

Yup, I totally missed that. So Eric suddenly recovered from his post-rape anger disorder, dated Nicole, proposed marriage and THEN she *taking a guess based on some bits I saw on the show between Kristin arcs* learned that Nicole destroyed the rape evidence? No - wait - he was still trying to be a priest then, right?

 

I'm guessing this happened between November 2014 and April 2015, right? I wasn't watching then. But I'm AMAZED Nicole and he became an item after he accused her of raping him and generally being awful and pathetic.  *shakes head at Nicole*

 

It's going to take me a while to get used to her as Belle, as I wasn't watching when she was on. Kirsten Storms is Belle in my mind.

You pretty much have the EriCole story correct except she withheld her feelings for a very long time, trying to find redemption being a secretary and living at St. Luke's after she accused Jenn wrongly of pushing her down the stairs killing her already (sadly) stillborn baby.  After Kritter raped him it was quite a while before she and Dan (of course) confronted the evil Dr. Chyko who was responsible for the date rape drug.  In the meantime they had long, drawn out sexual tension.  She decided to burn the papers she found (after Dan went running after Dr. Evil) so he wouldn't have the chance to be a neutered priest again.  Hell, I don't think they even had sex before that as much as Nicole tried.  So they were way close before the reveal but what a disappointing relationship that was.  He not only acted like an adolescent, he dressed like one after being defrocked.  And Mar was so, so sad about his "vocation".  I guess that's the least she could do after trusting Vic who set her up to play the sex CD at Brady and Kritter's wedding. Didn't Naggie leave him for a while after that?  Not sure if any of this makes sense because it's probably the most ridiculous paragraph I've ever written. The thing is, Nicole is always right about her investigations.

You're correct that Eric and Nicole did not have sex before Nicole burned the papers she found. However, shortly afterwards they got engaged, and then Daniel found out and told Nicole to tell Eric or he would. So Nicole tried to tell Eric but she started by explaining how insecure she is about herself and about his love or something like that, and Eric interrupted any further confessions with assurances of his love and took her to bed as further proof. So they did have sex that once. After that, Nicole decided she wasn't ever going to tell Eric and so we got that run of episodes where Daniel would keep finding out Nicole hadn't told Eric yet and Nicole would keep assuring Daniel that she would next time, and then Jen put an end to it by telling Eric herse

Daniel Cosgrove who plays  Haiden is apparently out of the show. His contract will not be renewed and he will tape till the end of September. Well if they have Justin then they have a lawyer in town and everybody knows Salem only needs 2 lawyers, 2 doctors and 3 or 4 police officers. 

 

I'm not sure how I feel about all these people returning.  It'll be nice to see the old faces as I've been watching this show since the dawn of time, it feels like, but I'm a little skeptical about how skillfully it will be done.  It seems like it could be jarring with all the old Salemites appearing for a day or two.

i forgot to add that Aiden may get killed off and Chase will be around for a bit...I have  to wonder if there will not be any consequences to his spilling his guts like that..I am pretty sure his bosses wanted him to keep quiet about his exit from the show...We all knew that Bo and Hope would be endgame, I had thought it would have been drawn out a bit more...

 

I actually liked Aiden with Kayla. They had a nice chemistry. It would have been nice to see Kayla paired with someone else for a bit. I thought the show was going to do a triangle with Kayla/Aiden/Hope. I am so happy that they did not do that..Tomsell would have probably turned Kayla into a scheming bitch to get with Aiden, destroying her 30 year friendship with her sister-in-law Hope..

I doubt the writers did any planning in case FS decided to leave and now that he has Sparkle (and maybe Will) will probably spend a lot of time off screen until the writers can come up with a story.

I admit, I'm surprised they let DC go. I didn't have any particular attachment to it, but it seems like Hope/Aiden was/is pretty popular. And with Bo back, it would have been easy to pair Aiden with someone else. He's also just about the only male character on this show that isn't a complete lost cause.

 

I too have seen rumors that James Reed, True O'brien, and the guy who plays Ben (sorry, I don't know his name) have all finished taping.

I'm particularly pissed about DC.  He's a compelling, good looking actor playing a believable, morally decent-with shades of gray character while SC is a middling, doofy looking actor playing a shitty character who everyone in town inexplicably loves, admires, and can't think without.  So, so stupid.  And if they kill off Aiden and leave poor little Chase without a parent, I'll really be pissed.

 

Not to say I'm not angered over KM still being around.  There are so many better actors out there who could do a much better job.  It makes no sense.

Total B.S. that we're losing Daniel Cosgrove.  As you all have said, he's practically the only adult male in Salem who isn't a self-centered dickhead.  But we do get to keep Shawn Christian.  He'd do such a better job dishing up fries at the local Mickey D's, but instead, he's our resident brain surgeon and all around proctologist and surfer dood.  Yeah, great choice, show.

 

If bringing back all the vets is going to be a short-lived bounce to the detriment of the few viable characters, then it's just a waste of time.

I wanted to  add that Christopher Sean who plays Paul a.k.a Sparkle says that Will and Paul will get together and that it was fucked up..I guess this is the bizarre twist that Freddie was talking about..Plus. Freddie is still with the show on a recurring status...Perhaps Freddie's haircut and full beard were storyline dictated..Sonny probably goes dark for a while..Christopher said that he has not taped in a long time, and he does not know what they are going to do with him....He is in limbo. Guy is still taping with the show...

I detest Dan for the destruction of Jack and Jennifer, Chloe, Maggie, Victor, Nicole, Carly. As a Phloe fan, I hate the fact that Philip's son was taken from him and given to him. I love the fact that Philip being a single father to Parker was going to give him some needed maturity. Plus, he would always have a connection to Chloe, the love of his life....

I find it odd that Cosgrove is out. Is it strictly because Peter Reckell is coming back? I know KA really liked working with Cosgrove and got along better with him compared to Reckell. As for, Shawn Christian and his hairy chest leaving.......don't let the door hit you on the way out. LOL!!! Seriously, TPTB have propped Daniel up time after time to make him the hero. It was nauseating. I actually like him on ATWt but that was like 20 years ago. On Days, all I saw was tan, unkept hair, hairy chest, white teeth and nothing else. He has been horrible as Daniel. Of course, a lot of that is due to the writing but some blame goes to Shawn as well. He's still trying to come off as some 20 year old surfer dude when he's well past the expiration date. Is the rumor about Tru leaving true? Is she being replaced or written out entirely?
