Okay, the trailer just dropped for Beyond Salem

Steve and John are tied up on some kind of mission and the trailer focuses on shots of them quite a bit. They get dressed up for some kind of DiMera gala event type thing.

There is a gambling table and Tripp is there.

There's a fun family selfie of Steve, Kayla and their three kids.

Ciara presents her baby to Hope, which is nice, but then there's another shot of her asking her mother with a LOT of attitude where she's been for the last two years, which...yeah. Shut up Ciara. You really can turn on a dime, can't you? Just be happy to see your mother.

Bo, dressed in white, asks what Fancy Face has been up to, but he's in a room with weirdly glowy blue walls. It doesn't look like heaven but...it also doesn't look like anything else I can identify either. It's...weird. And Loretta Devine gives a serious expression to camera with the same walls behind her so...is she there too? Is she an angel? Is Bo still dead? Who knows.

EDIT: Yeah, he's still dead...because he's watching what Hope is doing on a viewscreen in heaven, framed by pillars and white drapes, LOL. I missed that the first time around.

That guy from the other soap wears a bunch of disguises and points a gun, so he's clearly the baddie.

Li takes a girl's dress off - I assume it's Gabi but you can't see.

Paul has a quick exchange with a guy. I don't remember if it's the same guy who was his physical therapist when he left (would be a nice touch if it was).

And THE REAL KRISTEN IS THERE TOO! AAAHHHH! YAY! SHE SMILES! I'M SO EASILY PLEASED WITH THAT!

I'm shocked Hope wasn't more the focus of the trailer, but I guess they want to keep her storyline a surprise.

Interesting that it sounds like the wedding is blown up on Wednesday and yet, on Friday, Kate doesn't like Lucas' plan. I wonder if the confession Lucas makes to Will on Monday is what happens on Wednesday and Will makes the announcement? Or, Lucas tells Will that he doesn't remember the night Abigail was killed. And, maybe his plan that Kate doesn't like is that he goes to tell the police he might have done it. either way, it does sound like Sami will find out that Lucas kidnapped her and framed EJ.

I just read some soap magazine speculation (sorry, I don't remember which one) that said they think Phillip came back and was the murderer. Something about Abby getting too close to the whole story where Brady was framed by Phillip for his "death" so he came back and made sure she couldn't expose him.

That would be ridiculous. No one seems to care that Philip is missing or "dead" and so why would he risk his freedom to kill Abby. She was investigating Sami's disappearance and ended up finding out from Chad that Lucas was responsible. There was no need to do any additional investigation or asking questions because she agreed with Chad to keep quiet over Lucas' crimes.

This makes perfect sense in Ron's brain.  He figures this will restart the DiMera and Kiriakis war. Unfortunately, Ron and team cannot handle such a story-line or any story.

The only good thing that would come out of this is if Chad hated Kate forever over this.

That being said if it turns out to be Phillip I would've never expected that twist. Have they ever met?

I don't he has interacted with the last two interactions. I remember a flirty scene with either Ashley Benson's Abby or the one after her. It was around the time that Max, Stephanie and EJ were all race car drivers and Philip via Titan was one of the sponsors for the drivers.

So based on the timeline I guess Sami runs to EJ after the wedding implodes? Finds him "commiserating" with Belle. Sounds like Chad will stop another wedding?

Not sure who she's revenging against. She cheated on EJ multiple times with Lucas, refused to believe or trust he didn't kidnap her, believed lies, ran away with Lucas and marrying him.   EJ should kick her out if she runs in only after she hears the truth. 

She should be blaming Chad, Lucas and Kate.

Now that I think about it Alex/Stefanie would not be so bad.  Given that Adrienne was Alex's stepmother and never formally adopted him.  Whereas Max Stefanie's uncle was formally adopted by her grandparents..

I don't think that Adrienne adopted Alex.  Anjelica was a part of his life based on conversations between Justin and Adrienne. The show never explored Alex and his dynamic with his two mothers because Dena who wanted to write it was fired and Ron had no interest in that by killing off Adrienne and Anjelica.

Have Brady and Sami ever referred to themselves as siblings? They would be a pretty close parallel. Brady briefly called Marlena "Mom" after Angel Isabella visited him at age 21 in 2002 but I don't think that ever stuck. (God, I miss Kyle's Brady.)

Yes, especially since EM has been in the role. When Kristen and Brady first became a thing, I clearly remember Sami saying "my brother Brady" when she found out about them.
