Not to be gross, but I always wondered how she reached her rear end on the toilet. Although there is less of it now with the weight loss.

People of all sizes sometimes need help in that area, for various reasons. There are long-handled, body-contoured assistive devices made just for this purpose. Bidets work really well, too. If a bidet isn't practical, there are portable bidet bottles, i.e., contoured squirt bottles.

I've watched way too many little people shows (LPBW, 7 Little Johnsons, The Little Couple) and I think it was mentioned on at least one of those shows that they have these wiping devices for people with short arms. Go to Amazon and type in "wiping aids".

Nope. The water spray does the removal. Then you towel dry like after a shower.

I still wonder if the water spray of a bidet is enough to clean the area adequately. I would think some soap or sanitizing agent would be needed in addition to that.

I think bidets have a reputation for making you cleaner but while they may clean better than traditional paper wiping I find it hard to believe they fully clean either. I know there are medical websites that say they power-wash all matter off but would you trust your surgeon to "power wash" his or her hands with only water before performing surgery on you without also sanitizing them with soap or some other cleaner? I know I wouldn't!

I stopped using toilet paper when flushable wipes came out. People shy away from them because they worry that they will clog toilets and septic systems, but several years into this and a few septic tank cleanings have taught me that there's nothing to worry about with them.

I wonder if Whitney has a bidet. With her issue maybe she does. I'm also wondering if her 50 lb. weight loss has made it possible for her not to need those additional aids.

As you said, the medical websites (and others) say bidets do an excellent job of cleaning. Unless someone is a very free spirit, the only thing a bideted naked butt is going to touch is a towel and the first layer of clothing.

Okay; to "towel-dry" involves wiping.  Can obese people "towel-dry" themselves?  I suppose if the towel is big enough.

I only occasionally watch My 600 Pound Life, but I'm sure I've seen people bigger than Whitney washing and drying themselves without help.

She is short and carries a lot of her weight below the waist and is kind of tiny by comparison above it, with smaller shoulders and arms (a pear shape) which probably is the reason why she has had difficulty with certain things.

I am a similar height and also a pear shape, and my highest weight was only 228 and I was getting to the point where some things were more of a struggle than I ever thought they would be at that weight. And I never had a caboose that big proportionately speaking either. Thankfully I did not stay that weight for long.

"Newly single" - "not pretending to have a boyfriend at the moment" 😃

And I call BS on the rest - I've never yet met a fellow fatty who loses rather than gains due to grief, stress, etc.

Yeah I don't buy it either. And when my father died early in the pandemic I gained 25 lbs.

But get this - When my mother died in 2001 I lost weight. But I did not have a weight problem then and I was under so much life stress in addition to that that I took up smoking for just under a year. I had quit smoking in the '80s but relapsed in 2001 because of all that stress. I credit the nicotine for acting as a weight loss drug. Since then I've read that nicotine can work as a weight loss aid.

And here's the other thing (besides the fact that we know Whitney is a pathological liar):

Her whole spiel throughout the course of this series has been that due to medical conditions (PCOS, etc). she is literally unable to lose weight, no matter what she does.

So how does she reconcile her adamant assertions that she physically cannot lose weight with her current apparent weight loss?

Was she lying then, or is she lying now?

Exactly! She is trying to attribute the weight loss to grief but grief alone is not going to explain all that. I don't really think she ever had that much trouble losing weight even with the PCOS. I will believe that her original weight gain might have had something to do with that but she has been steadfastly unwilling to do the kind of work necessary to really lose weight. And I personally think she could have. With all the exercise she did at one time and at her younger age when she gained the weight, if she had dieted it would have come off. I really doubt she scaled back her intake enough to accomplish that. Dieting isn't that easy, I've done it and I have issues preventing me from losing weight myself. She should try being a post-menopausal woman with a sluggish but still normal thyroid with Hashimoto's diagnosis! Then I might believe she had trouble losing weight! Usually anyone as heavy as she was, no matter their medical issues, would have an easier time losing weight because it would take even less to lose it. That's why very heavy people lose so many pounds a week when they finally start to diet. 😏

Both.

Because she has repeatedly claimed to be for fat acceptance and/or health at any -size and that losing weight is hard due her since:

- PCOS is the cause of her fat and inability to lose weight;

- that her previous weight losses caused eating disorders.

- that she exercises alot and is remarkably flexible for 40 year old.....a very obese 40 year old.

See former comments from posters above confirming her excuses.

Most of all, because then she wd have to admit that she wants to lose weight thus contradicting her campaign to lead fat acceptance.

Whit also lies about alot of stuff like fake fiancés outed by posters/media, or cd say it's a storyline for her 'reality' ....NOT.... show.

Whit tries to twist her tv storylines to make her seem like a caring, competent person, but her talking head statements are chock full of misleading statements.

She claimed to be superbusy on renovating her Dad's room.... but she didn't do any of the hands-on work. Later in the show she amended her participation by saying,  she 'managed' the reno. Yes looked around the room,  hit on the workmen, and signed checks.  Whit claimed that she AND Hunter wanted Dad to keep the house,  but there was a whole segment of her roping  a non-interested Hunter in on the deal.

Same with strong arming Todd into flamenco dancing on her BIRTHDAY trip to Spain. BTW, it's her BIRTHDAY trip! No Hunter proposing to his gf and overiding the celebration of Whit or highlight memories her BIRTHDAY trip. Oh, yes, and Todds birthday too... cuz they always celebrated together. Sure Jan. Todd didn't care about the flamenco and knew they didn't have enough time to prepare. But Whit has to have the spotlight.  She made it seem like it wd be Todd's fault if their dancing was a fail when she didn't plan or prep enough ahead of time. Why cdnt she just dance on her own? Because she needs someone to blame if it sucks,  or take the fall, as it were.

I'm also tired of her fake shock when others make a statement of sexual innuendo about anything,  but then she does it ad nauseum.

Next she'll claim that eating pickles is the key to weight loss. And sponsor a pickle product.

Guess,  I went on a rant about her lies, fakey-ness, hypocrisy, and double speak.

Plus, I'm tired of her extreme need to get a man. If she went out and tried to participate in  more varied activities, she wd meet other people.  Maybe she really doesn't have any real ... non tv... friends to go with.

Back to original point. I don't know why so many celebrities and  Whit don't tell the truth about using weight loss products....I don't care, but it seems to be the thing to do.

Huh? Why does anyone deserve the truth about how someone lost weight?

She lost weight. She seems to be doing better physically. Good for her.

I think the issue people have with Whitney and honesty is that she previously wanted us to believe that she could be healthy and fat but now won't admit that perhaps this is not the case for her anymore and that she realized that she needed (and still needs) to lose weight for her health. If she wants to continue to push herself as a helpful example and beacon of hope for obese people being dishonest and not transparent with them about her true health and diet situation is not the way to do it. The reason she isn't being transparent with the public is in my opinion because she doesn't want to admit she was wrong about something she actively pushed for years - the myth that she could be both "fit and fat" at the same time. It's probably less and less true as she ages but not admitting to that is in my opinion about her ego and not about helping anyone like she professes to do. And that's what people have a problem with most of all.

Just my opinion!

Yeah I think maybe the one misguided but well intended motive for her in this is that she doesn't want to admit to needing to lose weight for her health because she thinks it will contradict fat acceptance and she doesn't want obese people to feel bad about themselves (AKA her but we know it's mostly about her). Well, there are ways to deal with that without in effect LYING about it and misleading the public. She is not being "kind" to anyone by not admitting those things, only trying to prevent facing it herself. People need to face and accept the truth about the bad health effects of obesity in order to help themselves. But her ego is also a part of it as we all know.

I know, what got me about the way she acted about the reno. is how "exhausted" she was after all the work she put into it. What work, choosing finishes, curtains and knick knacks? OMG, if that exhausts her now especially at her age, she has more problems than we ever knew!

Also, speaking of that this business about her acting all serious now about turning 40, like it's soooo old is ridiculous. When I was 40 I was thin and fit and never would have acted like being 40 was a crisis that came along with a sudden onset of aging. Her reaction is not a result of her age but her obesity-related medical and physical issues which are getting worse, most of which she is hiding from the public. It's just not honest and is misleading. She is acting more like someone in my age bracket. I've only just begun to feel like that and I'm 26 years older than she is!

Because the her entire raison d”etre has been that she (and by extension her disciples) DON’T need to lose weight to be “fabulous”.

At her size it was always a lie. But she decided that this show is her only realistic, and most lucrative, income stream, so she’s kept up the lie. And misappropriated the HAES philosophy along the way.
