Has anyone ever talked during the walk down the aisle at the beginning of the case? The grandmother of IPhone girl who shares boys with her cousin said, annoyed face and all, "you said it wrong", like it was her big moment, the announcement of her name, to someone as she was walking down the aisle. The whole case was disgusting, from the G'ma's on down to the idiot girls. Part of my disgust was how proud the G'ma's seemed to be of those idiot girls.

eta She said it to either the announcer or Byrd. She was annoyed and that is irritating because seriously? That is what upsets you? She really was pleased to be on tv, no self awareness of how stupid her whole family is, and the show ruined her big moment, by saying a name wrong?

Very sorry to have missed this one! But I can kind of imagine it, having seen all the bits and pieces, I'm sure, in the myriad other cases. I just cobble it all together in  my brain.

ETA:
Old Episode today: Mousey-faced race car driver that pulled out into traffic - could tell where this was headed from the moment she said, "I saw him coming down the road."

Same ep:  The 13-year old who was learning to drive.  Wow. Most beautiful child I've ever seen (including my own, I think!) Just stunning, and appropriately 13 years old.

If, God forbid, I ever reach such a low point in life that I have no choice but to have my dispute settled by JJ or by any other TV arbitrator, I will hope, pray, and cross my fingers that the announcer mangles my name in the most unrecognizable way imaginable. I will also wear a wig and possibly a mask.

I have just decided to stop driving, bicycling and even walking on public roads. What with the 13-year olds driving pick-up trucks, the race-car drivers who do not care about incoming vee-hickles and the crazy old biddies who feel compelled to pull a long mane of hair as soon as they see one (to think that with her overwrought temper, she was allowed to teach kids for a quarter-century; she'll probably blame her attitude on PTSD).

I can't figure out the diagram on the racecar accident. At first I thought the blue car was going down, but no, it's going up. So the only way they could be in that position would be if she hit him - 90% of his car is already past her car. I didn't notice anyone disputing it.

And if there were skidmarks on the ground, why are there no photos?

Also that whole family totally lost out on the "symmetrical features" lottery.

That 13-year old needs a better family. Mom's body language when she's excusing letting the kid drive is so dismissive of the severity of the situation. And "Hey, kid, let me show you how much power this truck has"? WTF! I'm surprised the aunt actually swapped drivers rather than telling the kid to floor it. When I was a new-ish driver (I was 18, I did it late) I had to drive some kids that age around, and I was so careful about following every last detail of the laws that the kids were teasing me about it.

"It doesn't matter that I damaged the car by pouring gas on and around it, because I bought the car for her, and also because I'm saying this in a perfectly reasonable tone of voice, so of course you are going to believe me. Gaslighting? What's that?"

Byrd, on being asked if he'd do that if he'd ever had a disagreement with his wife: "That's a little much."

Seriously, dude is scary in ways that only the quiet ones can be, because there will always be people who see the calm quiet and don't look beyond it.

I had to take a break after the first case with Lori, the horse-faced, smirking scrag. I don't know what she was smiling about either. She's a 35-year old server who already had two kids with two different sperm donors and then decided to have yet another baby with yet another boyfriend -  the plaintiff. She barricades him out of the apartment she shares with him and her dragon-mom by putting a chair under the doorknob. "It's a girl thing," she says with a foolish giggle, as though she didn't stop being a "girl" two decades ago. I did love her really bad, 1970's blue eyeshadow. We didn't hear from plaintiff, so I don't know what's wrong with him that he thought this shop-worn "girl" who likes to get knocked up with anyone who looks her way was some sort of prize catch. JJ needs to be cloned and set up in courtrooms all over the country to stop the sort of shenannigans this dimwitted, lowlife def. perpetrates on courts all the time.

Take This Broken Wing == skinny "racer" looks like Prissy from the old Foghorn Leghorn cartoons.  Defendant looks like Tim Kazurinsky.

Helen Wheels ==  she was a schoolteacher for 27 years!  Hopefully, she is no longer one and whatever made her coo-coo for cocopuffs happened after she retired.  In her halterview, she said that Roseanne Roseannadanna hair-ed  plaintiff posts when she has new shoes on Facebook.  So crazy Helen in stalking her on social media!  Niiiice!

I found her on Facebook fortunately she does not appear to have had any more children. What a conniving, amoral person.

Don't forget fake tattoos and piercings... viewers will be so mesmerized by your gigantic dangling cross, and trying to read a message in the fake tattoos, nobody will look at your face to recognize you... and ya really need to practice mush mouth ghetto/trailer trash speak.

I've filed away your advice for future reference. Should my life ever sink to such depths, i will know how to remain anonymous even in front of JJ's ten million viewers.

"It was an x-rated movie" the plaintiff mumbles - I'm thinking home porn, that's why she wants it back so badly... but then JJ asks her to speak up and clarify, and:

"No, it was a Next Friday movie" - a what? Hello google - oh. A "2000 American stoner comedy". Oh yeah, I'd totally be kicking the door in over that.

Never heard of a a movie with Chris Rock, Nia Long, and Ice Cube referred too as a stoner movie.  The movies Friday and Next Friday are really like urban cult films that came out in the mid 90s. Google missed the boat on this one.  Sadly, the plaintiff, Sarah Burney, died in August of 2015.  She was only 23 years old.  I don't suppose she ever got a chance to get it together.

Well, Google's top hit was the wikipedia entry. Whatever it is, it's not worth kicking in a door.

Start with, "How ya doin', ya honor?" and immediately begin your testimony with, "Me and her had went... "  If anyone thinks they recognize your face, they'll hear that and think, 'Nah. Can't be her. Doppelganger for sure."

The shows last night showed me, once again, how arbitrary JJ is in what she allows in her "court".

Forgive me, I'm really bad at remembering names, etc., but hopefully my point comes across.....

The girl and the "next Friday movie" - almost all her answers were "yeah" "mmmhmmm" (what happened to "it's YES"?) Did she really pass away? I couldn't find anything.

Another case with the guy standing with arms folded...not a word from JJ. Any other time it's "UNCROSS YOUR ARMS".

So, nothing big in the scheme of things, just thought yesterday's episodes were full of people getting away with gestures, phrases, etc., that usually don't fly.

Sigh.  I know.  And she was the eldest child?  I think she's probably practically raising the other kids.  I always feel for kids who are forced to grow up quickly.  And such a pretty girl.

What's up with the re-runs?  The last 2 days, I've had eps from 2012 and while they're enjoyable, I want some new shows.  Even though they seem to be picking some doozies---asshole who fired his gun (multiple times!) at the dog and missed; bigger asshole who took his daughter's car and claimed he wasn't responsible because he was drunk; and finally Fatal Attraction girlfriend who was harassing her ex for a Next Friday DVD.  Harassment over Friday I might excuse but Next Friday??  Come on, man!

Oh, I didn't mean to diss the movie, just the idea that a DVD of a movie I'd never heard of would be worth all that fuss. It's not like it's a rare Han Shot First version of Star Wars :)

Weren't the Oklahoma Road Rage Ladies a repeat?  I had never seen it but I immediately recognized the last line in the halterview because it was much talked-about at the time: "Whenever she buys new shoes, she puts them on Facebook!!!"

And the ORRL were really fond of the word "proceed/proceeded," weren't they.  "She proceeded to get out of her vee-hickle and pull my hair!"

Of course. What was I thinking? I need to bone up on my JJ-speak. But you did miss the "had." Very important word for litigants: "Whenever me and her HAD currently went, I had told her... etc)

We are up to our eyeballs in moving this week. I don't get to be online as often as I'm used to. But I am sitting here reading these variations of me and her and she and myself and I am totally cracking up. Thank you for making me laugh.

They’re running repeats from Season 17 this week. Not sure why they’re gone to reruns this early in the season. And that far back too.

If they are going to do reruns, I don't mind that they are going back several years.  I didn't start recording JJ until about a year or so ago, so most of these older episodes are new to me. If they reran shows from last season, chances are I had already seen them.  Or should that be 'had saw them'?  :-)

This version incorporates more of the standard  JJ litigant conversating or testimony or whatever it should be rightly called.  (I do love the "currently went," and with "had" it is especially erudite and classy.)

P.S. The spell check here seems not to recognize conversate in its various forms as standard English. What the  !#&^*! is wrong with this software ?

I think JJ's tolerance or intolerance for poor English usage is influenced by how close to lunchtime a case is heard and by what is being served for lunch on the particular day.

Yeah, what gets me is when they show reruns from a couple months ago.

Oh, I never thought I’d see the gay porn star case again, but they’re apparently running it as part of their trip down memory lane. Angel Arroyo (Juan Steel is his nomme de plume) got sued by his ex-girlfriend.

I assume JJ was aware of his curriculum vitae since she joked with him about making a silent film.

The couple in the second episode.  Something about a car.

Apologies for not being more specific but I am so mentally drained right now.  The case was twenty minutes but I swear that I lived every day of that miserable relationship in those twenty minutes.

There are people who suck the air out of the room just by their presence.  I suspect that those two lovebirds fall in that category.

I honestly cannot remember the original question I was going to ask about their case.

I'm off to take a nap.

Rerun, landlord/tenant case, a picture worth a thousand words: the really annoying ex-tenant (both to the landlords and in the courtroom) denies that he had "lots" of people partying: "The most I had was eight". Landlord says nothing, just lifts a very eloquent eyebrow. They were the rare sensible litigants: provided documentation and an organized book of before-and-after photos (which, alas, we didn't get to see), and only spoke when spoken to. Not that they needed to with Mr Annoying torpedoing his own case.

Second case: yet another boyfriend/girlfriend unpaid car loan case. JJ seems perfectly aware that they're only here because the show will pay. She rips into him without letting him say much more beyond he had no excuse for not paying, tells him to grow up and "pay" - neither of which seems likely to happen. The reason for her insta-animosity becomes clear in the halterview - from what he says there he was going to "defend" himself by trash-talking her: "she's got mental issues and was trying to buy my love". I do wish she'd read off whatever she saw in their written statements first, though.

Miss Young should wear a t-shirt that says, "Terminally desperate and needy.  HMU! I'll pay you!" Call me cruel but I don't think she deserved a cent. She hooks up with the butt-ugly clown on Plenty O' Fish or whatever. I guess it was love at first sight, because after a few weeks(!!) he tells her he needs 1400$ to fix his car. No problem. Ms. Young makes 10$/hr and is a single mother(of course) of a ten-year old. What better place to put money than on some creep's wheels (an adult creep who lives with Mommy and Daddy)? Ms. Young doesn't have the money to give him, but she needs to keep him around so she takes out a loan to give it to him. Not a loan for her child's medical/dental care/schooling, or to go back to school herself so she can earn a better living - who cares about all that when 1400$ can buy some hideous, loser creep who trolls dating sites for sad, zero self-esteem ladies like Ms. Young to bankroll him? I mean, she's SO pathetic I nearly felt sorry for her and would have if she were only robbing herself to shower this POS with money, but she's taking it from her kid too, who is getting no pleasure from said POS.  Getting her money back by humiliating herself further on this show probably didn't teach her a thing. She wants a man and doesn't care if he's merely using her. I bet if ol' dimwitted Lightbulb Head had stuck around, she wouldn't care how much money he sucked out of her. The only thing that surprised me is that she didn't "find out" she was pregnant after this tumultuous and passionate relationship.

OH god. The uber-sensitive, twee, man-bunned nitwit found out that JJ doesn't want to hear about Minnesota laws. But he didn't even have time to take his heart meds with him! The landlords are insane. They wanted him to move in then started harassing him the next day for no reason. His very short, facially-tatted witness was not so helpful.

I find it's heavily influenced by what she perceives as a litigant's ability to learn from the corrections. Most of them are so obviously mouth-breathers with a serious lack of gray matter that correcting them is an exercise in futility.

I’m wondering why Chelsea & Antonio didn’t have their parents or maybe another family member co-sign on their cars? Especially when they were constantly off & on again, but then like Judy said “Young & stupid” Maybe it’s just me but on chelsea’s  list of money that she gave him through out the relationship had petty things on it like $20 for gas,$40 for shoes ,$10 for charger,$35 for food” they were together for 6 years, and she lived with him rent fee.

And then in the halterview we found out the real reason “he wouldn’t come home at night”.... my guess is she’s one of those girls who cries if her man isn’t around her 24/7  & makes his life hell when he’s with friends.

On the bright side, at least the 2 idiots didn’t pro-create

If that is the same one I'm thinking of, his car payment was $450 a month.  I would NEVER cosign even a close relative's loan for that!  That is a hugely pricey car.  Around 50K I think.  Um, nope.  Never happen.
