It's utterly fascinating to me that this and many other similar pictures are on sm.  And people comment and engage with each other.  Have separate conversations from the Vuolos who don't seem to respond.  What do the commenters get from this?  What is missing in their lives that these pictures are important?  And why in the hell do I care?😏

Well, to an atheist like me, gathering on social media with fellow acolytes of your favorite celebrity looks quite similar to being an ancient Greek gathered with others in the Parthenon or any modern believer congregating in their faith-specific church/temple/other venue......

You're feeling solidarity and a link to the greater world beyond as you share with others the feeling of proximity between your gods and your earthly day-to-day existence. The proximity that you only really feel in the holy places like churches and Instagram that act like semipermeable windows and doors between ordinary human life and the greater life somewhere beyond.

And in none of those situations do the gods literally speak to you -- at least not in about 999 out of 1000 times you visit and pay homage -- but when you speak to and about them and share your devotion with others of the faithful, you very often feel as if those gods are seeing you, little old you, and speaking back....

Celebrities as gods. That's how it looks to me, anyway!  😁

(Devotees of these particular gods have set a very low bar for divinity, I must say....but they're not the only ones who've ever done so.....When you look at history there have been plenty of gods out there who seem pretty low rent, if you ask me....)

Can't say I blame her for having no other ideas. That's the kind of shot there's no reason to take, seems to me. So unless she had dumped the plate of food on her head -- or Jer's?...now there's a thought -- there don't seem to be a lot of options (especially with a photographer who thought that framing would make a good shot...) .....

Plus, as we see with Jill, JIngle and others, they apparently have a repertoire of expressions from youths spent with cameras in their faces and people telling them to do something interesting or funny or something now because we have a TeeVee show to keep on the air. I expect they were told that so many times -- and the real options were so few, because they and their lives were dull then and have been dull ever since, plus they're supposed to be benign and godly all the time -- that they had to fall back on these wide-eyed goofy looks until they became second nature for them.

Yeah, same clothes, most likely the same day.  So they hired a professional photographer to follow them around for awhile and snap pics that they can post later on SM.  They really do think they’re something special, don’t they?  Jeremy is going to have a long way to fall when the show ends, because he’s put himself on a very high pedestal.

I thought the name "Fremont Street" sounded a little familiar....So ... Googled it -- turns out that, yeah, it's a famous street name because it's the name of "Glitter Gulch," Las Vegas.....

So WTF just became considerably WTFer, for me, anyway. 

And why would Jer be starting an LLC in Tontitown/Springdale? Seems to me he's badly wanted to keep his distance...... 

Does Arkansas have some kind of highly favorable regulatory or tax regime for businesses or something?

I'm wondering if all these LCCs are just property investments.

JD and Abbie were talking about how Abbie wasn't initially comfortable with neither of them having a 9 - 5 job. If JB holds the purse strings, maybe he gives each family a lump sum and they use some of it to buy property to make more money. 

I'm guessing there's some of tax benefit LCCs provide, while the Duggars sit on their investments waiting to sell.

I don't know if you can specify in the NDA, but Jon Gosselin had a 10 year clause, which just expired.  He is free to talk now.

I'm pretty sure an NDA can last for as long as you can convince the signers to sign away that right. 

I guess it's recommended that it be no longer than it has to be to protect the interests of both the NDA writer and the signers. But I'm  pretty sure there's no actual limit to how long you can ask people to shut up -- if they're willing to sign the agreement. 

I was once presented with a non-compete agreement that would have lasted for life....I refused to sign it, but a lot of people did. .... And the employer sued some people who broke the agreement some years later -- and he won......

So -- all these things are supposed to be done to balance the rights of both parties. But if you're desperate or dumb enough to sign one that keeps you bound to something forever, I think it's pretty much on you.

I have a hard time seeing Duggarlings quarreling with the terms of Daddy Pop's contracts (and I expect even the adjacents are hesitant to do so...)

I posted in the smuggar thread the tax advantages of the LLCs - for instance Jana has an LLC and she seems to have bought/own that vacant building/tattoo parlor or whatever. If that building is moved to her LLC, any rent would be paid to the LLC  that income would go to her, as the owner, to be claimed on her personal tax return it seems. she would also most likely be eligible for a 20% tax break as long as she makes under $157,000 per yr.

Same with Jed"s Car lot LLC, Jason's Building CO LLC, Jerimiah's LLC, etc

The LLCs are diverting the money so Jim Bob can get a tax break

So he risks tax-evasion charges if he's found to be directing income into entities supposedly owned by people in the family who are in lower tax brackets than he is personally, right?

I mean, that is tax fraud.....And I know there's not enough enforcement capability to actually investigate and prosecute most of the tax fraud that's out there. But JB's potential vehicles for it seem to keep multiplying.

no, all legal under the new tax reform law,

All duggs with LLCs are of legal age. as long as they file their taxes and pay it's all legal.

What else would they put in there? Jeremy doesn't even have real estate holdings anymore.

i was confused on jeremy forming an LLC as well - also anna's recent LLC with an overseer

the other ones are pretty transparent.

Maybe he "bought" some property from JB? .... But I still don't see how he can be part of this scheme.....

I assume the real story here centers on what the first article said -- since there are no regs yet, tax advisors are telling people to do anything  they can think of to get the tax breaks, in hopes that the regs will never appear or will be shaped by lobbying to the point that you really can get away with anything?

Yeah, he probably did....But they are spending like water....And did they put enough down on that house to have built up much equity in just the couple of years they were in it? It wasn't a very pricey house....

I wonder what they imagine they'll do for actual cash when they have to start paying rent again...

And I am surprised Jer wanted to get his money involved with all JB's tangled money dealings in Arkansas. ... I thought he'd try to keep well clear of that....ALthough I guess JB's their life raft if things go sour, although I can't see Jer admitting that.

Boob probably advised Jer to set it up, and I would wager that they used Boob's local lawyer. All Jeremy had to do was sign the paperwork and transfer his funds.

I'm still trying to get my mind around the fact that Jer -- while he's in school in an expensive city and his family's future is not yet mapped out at all -- has apparently sunk his it-can't-be-that-big nest egg into what is basically an Arkansas-based business venture with Boob. 

Because somebody has to be managing the rental property that is Jer's LLC in Arkansas.....And that's got to be Boob and company, right? 

And what the hell kind of rental property can you even buy for jer's, what, $75,000-$100,000 nest egg? You certainly don't want a mortgage on it, do you? Since you're counting on it bringing in income for which you pay low or no taxes......So you buy a tiny house, or a shed, or a miniature storefront to rent out? Who'll rent that? Nobody's going to pay much rent for it. What if it's some slob running a meth lab? 

I must be missing the point here somehow because this whole thing seems positively insane to me.

You often comment about how Jim Bob is one of the best brainwashers on the planet. I do agree with you, and I think these corrupt business ventures prove he has a hold on Jeremy that is stronger than we realize.  Or, it could be Jeremy is just a big fat idiot.

There’s lots of reasons why RFP would form an LLC in Arkansas, it doesn’t have to be for rental properties. I guarantee it’s cheaper to set up and pay annual fees on an AR LLC versus a CA LLC. Jeremy should be running his business through an LLC or LLCs, it’s prudent. 

He’s still lame and Boob is a creep though.
