The girl who played the previous Kristina found work in prime time so I don't really think it's that unbelievable that BD could find success outside of GH. I'm not saying he's ever going to be an A-list actor or anything, but I don't think he's awful or incapable of getting steady work.

He's got that sweet Daytime Emmy.  I'm sure ALL the big Hollywood directors and producers have just been biding their time, salivating over the possibility that he might one day quit his GH gig and become available to lead the next blockbuster franchise.   Or, you know, he and Thighbolt are going to try to shop a reality show about their relationship and wedding.

I thought BD had talent, the problem is he got lazy and the writing for his character went downhill fast, which made his lazy acting even more noticeable. And being likable isn't a requirement for getting work in the entertainment industry.

Isn't there usually a 13-week out? He might be at that point now even if his contract isn't up, and TPTB might have decided not to get into prolonged negotiations with someone who obviously wants to leave. I don't think I'd fight anyone, even a Soap Superstar™. It's clear GH is just a holding show until ABCD can find something more profitable to take its place.

BC leaving is a giant opportunity for GH.  If Morgan is killed by mob violence that does not involved the Jeromes.  It is time for Sonny and Carly to face the consequences of their choice to live their lives and raise a family in the mob.  The effect their choices on Michael ( being shot in the head and put in a coma for over a year, having to kill his stepmother, going to prison and being raped) hasn't made them take notice.  The violent mob death of Morgan would destroy them both and they will destroy each other.  Great drama!
