Joe and Mika spent the first 30 minutes on the New York Times report that Russia paid bounties to the Taliban to kill American troops.  The only guest was the NY Times reporter who wrote the piece.

Joe and Mika are lazy as hell if they think it is ok to just sit there and reiterate the reporting that the NY Times did. 

The whole story was anonymously sourced which is lazy IMO. 

Mika's hair looks a little darker blond.  It is flattering.  Her hair was practically white.

Mark McKinnon has a fantastic house ... and what would seem to be a good bit of money.  He is sitting in his living room; but finds it necessary to have on a cowboy hat, scarf/bandanna and what would seem to be rich-guy cowboy clothes on.  I know he wears the hat (don't know about the other accessories) when he is on The Circus - but really.  

I like Jonathan LeMire.  Another But.  I wish he wouldn't say "you are so right" after Joe bloviates; he also did it with McKinnon.  But I guess this is better than "Joe, you complete idiot" - as a response.

I don't  recall what day this guest was on last week.  I happened to catch it and thought it was quite inspiring. I later checked out her story and was even more moved. She made me consider some things that I had not thought of before about how covid impacts those with disabilities.  She is Harvard Law School's first deaf and blind graduate.

I was shocked  by the clip that they showed of the seniors protesting for/against Trump in golf carts in the Villages , Florida.

It's so bizarre. I wonder if Mika & Joe have a golf cart in the retirement community that they live in.

Eddie & Joe discussed living in Mississippi.

Joe said that it was a dramatic change to change the flag.

Eddie said the current flag has only existed since 1894. It was an homage to the Confederacy & was part of the Jim Crow Laws.

Eddie said the college sports teams won't hold national tournaments events in that state with the current flag.

Joe said he grew up with the flag. He attended integrated schools in 1969. Joe said he grew up with the Confederate flag in the 1980's & didn't think much about it.

Joe was a fan of Old Miss & Old Rebel.

Joe admitted that he didn't realize that the flag could upset black residents of Mississippi.

Eddie said he is happy that there will be a new flag.

Joe said that the Civil War wasn't solely fought over slavery according to some of the historians in the Ken Burns Documentary.

Meacham said people should support liberty over captivity.

Meacham made fun of the Dukes of Hazzard tv show.

Mika was excited to promote Eddie's new book on James Baldwin.

In the 7:00am minute as they introduced the (SHOCKING) story that the White House knew about bounties to target our troops, I was listening rapt to Mika read the latest details.  Then she said, "ossifer" instead of "officer."

I tuned in to the 6:00 hour for the first time in weeks.  Something hilarious must have been happening in the Home Studio (yes, I know) because Meeka was just barely holding it together.  She was reading something and her voice had that quivery quality - when you know the person is trying hard not to laugh.  She finally gave up and threw it to Willy - who was looking at the camera kind of glassy eyed; don't know if he was expecting it but he gamely started speaking.  When the camera was leaving her and going to Willy, she had this wide-eyed stare you get when you are trying not to laugh.  At least we know she can still laugh.

I haven't seen Katty for awhile and I think she looks great w/o the Botox cat  eyes.  They must have relaxed over the pandemic period!

I looked at his Wikipedia.  He was born in Atlanta and went to high school in Pensacola.  I kind of wonder how much Mississippi experience he has.  

To be clear I am not saying that the Confederate flag is ok.  I am just tired of Joe being an authority on everything.

I thought Mississippi had to check with Joe before they even held that vote.  

This is the first time in months Katty Kay has looked normal.  Her eyebrows are actually where they should be. 

I didn't watch much as the sound of Mika & Joe's voices at 6 am, is just too much to deal with.  Why is it everyone else can express frustration, anger etc without setting off car alarms?

Mika seems very excited.  She said the NY Times has identified the money trail from Russia to the Taliban, as bounty on US troops. Mika loves to pretend that she understands banking and finance.

Joe says the president might not run for re-election.

Willie said the White House is full of ignorance.

A national Pew poll shows Biden up by 10 points over President Trump.  Joe says Donald Trump could lose by double digits.  Imagine the hot sex at JoeMika house if that happens.

Washington Post reporter Robert Costa said that Clarence Thomas might retire from the Supreme Court this summer.  Costa said that if that happens, Trump might nominate Amy Coney Barrett to the Court.

Joe is ranting about Facebook again.  A lot of advertisers are leaving the site.  Willie said the Bugaloo groups are off of the site.

Joe said Facebook is responsible for what happens on the site.  He compared it to going to Winn Dixie and falling down.  Joe said that Winn Dixie is responsible if you fall.

The problem, Joe is proving the cause.  It would be very hard to prove that one Facebook post caused an event, whereas it is easy to prove that someone slipped on a wet floor.

Joe says Facebook should be responsible. Joe called people stupid for saying he wants to censor a private company.  What else would you call it?

Joe & Donny Deutsh have been trashing Facebook since the company went public. Joe said that Zuckerberg was too young & immature to run a public company. Joe said the stock would flop. He couldn't have been more wrong.

Mika was unhappy that her Facebook Live shows with her chickens weren't better promoted on the platform.

Mika struggled pronouncing his name. Mika had nothing to say about Carl Reiner other than his humor said a lot about us.

Luckily Barnicle & Willie told some anecdotes about his career.

I think Mika is still upset at Rob Reiner for calling them out during the 2016 campaign for supporting President Trump.

David Blight , a professor from Yale defended keeping the statue of Lincoln (Freedmen's Memorial ) . It was paid for by freed slaves.

Douglass gave a speech saying that Lincoln was the white man's President but he did help free the slaves & make America a better place.

Joe bragged that he pinned a tweet featuring Douglass's speech.

Joe said that his speeches in Congress were almost as memorable as Frederick Douglass's.

Joe was tilting his head up & down when the Professor from Yale talked about Douglass's speech. Joe was very excited to mention that he had a pinned tweet about it. I bet Joe asked the professor to mention the speech before hand so Joe could look cool.

I do appreciate the show having a discussion on Frederick Douglass. I wish they had more segments like that and avoid spending an hour talking about polls.

Mika and Joe are excited about the polls.  Joe Biden leads Trump in Arizona, FL, Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.  This is according to a CNBC/Change  poll of 3379 likely voters.

The headline says that Biden leads Trump by 8 points nationally.

Joe speculates that North Carolina is turning purple.  He told WIllie that Republicans could lose in Colorado and Montana.

Me, too. Haven't seen him in awhile...does Mary still tag along? I think Mika and Joe envisioned themselves as the Carvilles re-imagined after their MJ gig...of course his caving after the heat he took for supporting Trump and the Repubs and the exposure of her vapidity changed all that.

I think I've caught Lemire doing interviews before. If TPTB are paying attention I think the bigger picture would have him taking over Joe's slot...Willie has lost his chance, IMO, to take over anything. I am always surprised when they beam in Barnicle. Still as useless but with a better backdrop.

Mika and Joe were not there yesterday, and they are apparently out today.  Willie is hosting by himself.

Dr. Vin Gupta joined Willie on the show.  Dr. Gupta is very concerned about Arizona.  He said more people are going to die.  

One reason I don't watch this show much is because it is not fun.  I am tired of constant panic as presented on this show.  We all have to be realistic but I cannot handle the way they cover this.  It is like they are excited. I stay home and wear a mask and take this seriously, but I feel like this show is doing panic porn.  They  never talk about the people who recover from Covid.

Plus Joe and Mika are at home making pancakes or watching CNN New Day instead of working on their own show.  So they don't even care anymore.  It says a lot.  They would rather sleep than do this fucking show.

I did check out CNN New Day and they are reporting that there is a new billion dollar contract for a Covid vaccine.  They are also reporting new stuff about Ghislaine Maxwell.  I cannot remember the last time that JoeMika did actual breaking news.

I guess what I am saying is that I actually learned something from the other network, versus hearing the same things from Joe and Meeks.

I tune to CNN more and more in the morning.  As much as I cannot stand The Twins, I am assuming they are on vacation.  But the show is pretty dull with Willy hosting.  And another thing....

Maybe it is just me being old and cranky but I am tired of the new-book-pushing from MJ contributors.  I am happy for them that they have the talent and education to be authors.  But I find it a bit unseemly when they come on the show, The Twins push and push whatever book they have out.  Then they come back another day and do the same thing.  And have the same conversations about it.

And like others who have posted...I am exhausted by the same hysteria about the same stories every day.  Actually, this is the network in general.

One thing I forgot to mention yesterday was that I thought that Anand had lost weight and also his hair was not so krazee.  Everyone else in America has unruly hair because of Covid closings, but Anand's gets more controlled!

This, this, this...a thousand times this, nittanycougar. All bad news, all the time, with a shitload of "we all hate Trump", all the fucking time. We get it. Unwatchable and unsustainable, IMO, for a daily show. I think part of the reason Mika delights us with her mispronunciations is her glee and rush to repeat bad news. Tiresome. (The other part of the reason is I don't think she's all that bright...never an original thought or glimpse of any deep understanding of what she's reading.)

Did I miss something this morning?  I honestly don't recall Willie even mentioning that Joe & Mika were off (doing God knows what).  It's not like they can go anywhere.  They're prisoners in their own home since they live in Florida.  Is it too much to ask that they show up for work and do their jobs?

Good point. I figured they'd make a stealth trip to her family's house in Maine...I think Mika's ex has spent some time there with their girls...but I forgot about them maybe being forced to quarantine or whatever d/t FL's surge. If that's the case, she must be (even more) impossible to be around...I think she kinda digs being one of the elites with a 2nd home to brag about. I guess she's stuck riding bikes with Bomba...not the vacay she's accustomed to.

I tuned in to one of the top of the hour intro's and did not hear Willie mention them at all. No great loss. If they are stuck at home I wonder if they'll update their background screen...it's so dull and dated now that all of their guests are showing off their homes.
