Joe always seems to forget there were 434 other members of Congress, and that the Speaker  would be meeting with POTUS, maybe along with the House Budget Committee, but not solely with a junior Congressman from FL, and certainly not discussing budget with the chairman of the  House Committee on Civil Service, a post so valuable that the committee does not even exist anymore.  Joe was NOT on the House Budget Committee.  He wasn't Majority Whip so I'm not sure where he gets off believing he had all this power. 

As Nancy put it, he's one vote.

Perhaps Joe had back channels to the White House ?

Joe said he led the revolt against Speaker Gingrich.

It's possible that every one was afraid of Joe ranting in the Capitol building.

It's a tough show to watch & recap.

I think some of the show will be pre empted tomorrow with coverage of Robert Mueller's testimony.

NBC has refused to allow Mika & Joe to be the sole anchor's on the Mueller testimony.

It’s something I ponder - why is Joe, a former Congressman, never used as a commenter when there are Congressional hearings? Personally I’d rather listen to David Jolly, but hasn’t Joe told us he’s personally responsible for all that is good in Congress?  And isn’t Mika the one that taught Pelosi to KYV? Just weird they wouldn’t anchor the  hearings...

I must have woken up in an alternative universe this morning as I am actually enjoying Joe's commentary/ranting this morning.  I was not happy about how Bob Mueller's testimony was covered and I am glad Joe is defending him (loved his Ragin' Cajun imitation) and I'm glad they showed those clips about how awful some of those representatives were.  I pray nothing is wrong with Mr. Mueller and that his demeanor was due to him doing exactly what he said he was going to do and would not be dragged into the political fray.

What we saw is who he is. He does not schmooze. He is irascible, he is a ball buster. His idea of a morning greeting is to say "How, exactly, does a person find a tie like that?"

Joe took a shot at Chuck Todd who said that optics of Mueller's testimony was a disaster.

Hopefully, Joe will demand a meeting with MSNBC to reprimand Todd.

Joe is demanding an impeachment inquiry.

Joe said Mueller is a Vietnam war hero He was shot in Vietnam.

Joe said he was asked to stay on as FBI director after 9/11.

Joe said Mueller was challenged by a physical condition.

How, exactly, is Mueller physically or mentally challenged?  Granted, I could not bring myself to watch yesterday's hearings in their entirety.  His voice is weak,...he is maybe 74?  His body is 74 years old? He suffered a wound in Vietnam.  He has not testified at a hearing like this in maybe years? After 9/11?   

When I saw some of the reviews of Mueller's testimony (the morning one) I was depressed when I read what some "journalists" were saying about him...his legacy was destroyed, terrible performance, etc.  But the clips I saw of the afternoon hearing reflected a man who measures every word he says.  Maybe not in a forceful tone; but geez! I wonder want pundits like Joe would have said had Mueller raised his voice? Ranted a little?  Said we are all doomed?  You know, like Joe does every day.

I am not trying to defend Mueller; he is who he is.  But I agree with ... maybe Heileman? .. that the Dems need to do THEIR jobs (sorry for the caps) and stop depending on others.  And Yes! to Joe on the Chuck Todd criticism.  I have seen funny/sarcastic criticism of Todd in several print outlets.  At least he didn't lead the coverage yesterday.

Joe defeated his primary opponent & won the election with record amounts of votes. Everyone was excited to see Joe back in Congress.

I heard it explained that he did not prepare every bit of the report, his staff did, and like all of us, we aren't going to remember every word of a 400 page complicated report, without pausing to look something up, etc. 

Why aren't they having his staff testify???  Why just him?

As soon as I saw Mueller walk into the hearing room, I thought "He's not well". Perhaps he is now suffering from the wounds he received in Vietnam? Maybe his body is actually older than 74 due to his past injuries? No matter, I think the important points were addressed. I just saw the hearing today because we lost our cable all day yesterday. As I listened to the hearing, I also wondered if he has a health problem. I guess we will find out soon enough.

Hey ho, happy Friday everybody.  Apparently today's Drinking Game is "Moscow Mitch" as Joe is loving that phrase bigly.

Another watchable show (so far).  For me, I think it's because Joe doesn't bring up Joe very often.  He's more focused on outrage at various issues that I too have angst/fear over so this is working for me.

Ok they have a poll graphic and I believe the photo they have attributed to Steyer is actually Sen. Michael Bennett . . . ooopie.
