They taped some court room scenes which should air in a few weeks.

There is speculation that Dylan and Sharon fight for custody of ChriSully.

Solution is, whoever gets Sullycan also has to take Dullan.  Nick can have TWO bouncing baby boys!

Sharon Case and Camryn Grimes did a FB chat today. It was a fun watch. I truly love CG. She is a lovely human being and seems so beautifully  normal. SC was also sweet. Nothing major. No story stuff revealed except that CG is loving whatever she's working on right now (can't reveal).

CG made it clear she would really love for Mariah to have a love interest and has no idea if that will happen. She has never had anything resembling one. It was quite funny as she declared she is the only soap actress in history to have had only one love scene that was a "bad" love scene. lol.

Interestingly when asked who she would like to play on show she picked Summer -- "because she gets all the guys, does whatever she wants, is blonde."

SC imagines Sharon getting together with Adam down the line. That was a surprise comment. She wasn't revealing story, more what she sees for her character in future. In the short term she's playing the Sully fallout.

Well that might make some sense, given Sully's actual paternity.  Adam returns from the dead, Chelz is in Nick's bed, Dylan is gone for reasons we don't know.  Adam might actually have sympathy for what Sharon went through because he never knew what really happened.  I get that SC is telegraphing what she wants, but it is not a bad idea.

And you can't ignore what has already unfolded. You have to play the cards you're dealt.

Never stopped Bill Bell.  If he didn't like a story, he just sent a character upstairs and they were never heard from again.

For sure. Also when JFP came in they instantly KILLED the Phyllis trial re: Cricket/Paul.

But in this case they had to have something for sweeps and this was IT. They had rejigged everything else that was in play and the new regime stuff begins Dec 7, which means they'd have had another month of treading water story-wise. What Happy SID isn't talking about is advertisers.

Y&R has had slow sweeps months before but the ratings are really bad right now. They are closer to 4 million than 5 million regularly.

Given that note about soon to be ex-Diego, my guess would be 2002-2003 time frame? He left not that long before Heather Tom did.

Right. And Phack would have been married at that point.

Fun stuff! Lol, I can't believe there was ever a time on this show when people found Gloria to be the second coming of Cricket with all the screen time and exposure she had.

Fun fact: according to Wikipedia, JC actually filled in as Jill Abbott for a few months in 1994!

Add me to the happy group that Gloria is returning.  She can actually make that whole Fisher/Baldwin clan palatable.  I love her.

She slammed the hell out of the JFP and Pratt a while back, so getting to see her again is yet another visible repudiation of those hacks.

And the storylines with Terrible Tom [I heart Roscoe Born] managed to work with some really nasty material without selling excessive manpain or estrogen-riddled delusions.

I can live with her as long as she doesn't eat the show... but I remember the Fishers and the Rest of Us era... In fact I think I quit watching during the Fishers and the Rest of Us era. I know I came back when Marge returned.

To be fair, that stuff could actually be fun at times and the stories had direction then. Not like the year long funeral march that was SullyCANGate. Even if Gloria got way, way, waaaay too much focus, the rest of the cast were tolerable for the five minutes a week they appeared.

Yeah I found her too much. It took me a lot of years to get over Gloria Ate the Show. I couldn't stand the sight of her. But I liked her in recent years because she was just sort of comic relief. She works in that capacity perfectly.

Seriously though WTF is he talking about? The flash drive scene was supposed to be funny but the rest of the time they were dark and gross. What is this "collection?"

I'm not sure what scenes Mal is talking about, but I have yet to see anything involving NotBilly and Phyllis that resembles romantic-comedy stylings.

That dude is full of shit. He doesn't want humor to be forced? Everything about Philly IS FORCED.

He said he doesn't want to do what "everyone thinks a soap should do." Well, he's accomplished that. I've never seen vile cheaters turned into the comedic portion of the show.

The idea of romcom scenes makes little sense. It's a genre of film, involving the whole story arc. It is a light romance that ends happily and is comedic. Soaps CANNOT by definition be romantic comedies. So what the fuck?

Sally has co EP status. I can see why. I'm all for fresh ideas but dude? We can go see romcoms in the theatres or on iTunes. Or watch parodies  like The Mindy Project.

This is the most classic of the daytime U.S. soaps. Audience expectations should be respected re the genre.

Jeez. Gross miserable dark love story is his example of light, romantic and funny???? I can't.

He is pulling shit out of his ass and saying LOOK! It's GOOD!

Nope.

This is what pisses me off. You want a couple to represent romcom? Don't choose the cheating brother and wife who are screwing behind a mostly BELOVED longtime VET CHARACTER.

What I wouldn't give for an EP or Head Writer who would JUST DO A SOAP.  Not indulge their ego, reinvent the wheel, just DO WHAT WORKS.  Just stop with this bullshit and create what we tune in for - a soap.

Excuse me, people. It's romcomcom. There's an extra com. Show some damn respect.

Humor is subjective. Different people find different things funny. Some people think monkeys are hilarious, but I find them to be annoying as hell. Still, I have to think some things are close to universally unfunny. A backstabbing nostril gobin invading the space of his ex-lover/sister-in-law might be one of those things. There are comedians who say that good humor afflicts the powerful and privileged; it punches up instead of down. Buttbiscuit getting up in Phyll's grill at his brother's company is callous and cruel. Even if the awkward physical exchange had come off smoothly, I still wouldn't laugh at Buttb's continuing hateful interference in Jack's relationship. Jack is the victim, and watching the people who victimized him play out a romcomcom is about as funny as watching three-legged puppies be fed into a wood chipper.

Yeah, one reasonably reputable site is reporting that JH filmed some scenes before he left that directly impact the fate of Christian. Other sites, less reputable, are using that info to put forth their own click-bait-y theories. One that I would put the least stock in is that JH, during his break from his primetime NBC show, will return to Y&R to tape additional scenes. I can't imagine why NBC would allow that.

ETA: gotta hope, if the rumors are true about the secret scenes, that this is how Chelsea will find out the truth about her dear friend Chloe.

ETA2: and the Muhney stans are spreading spumors that he's returning to the role of Adam. Biggest clue they're claiming? A positive mention of him recently in CBS Soaps in Depth, a semi-official network rag. I'm prepared to fall into shock after eating my hat if this actually happens. It could certainly lead to a ratings boon after all the ugly scandal and innuendo associated with his departure. Everyone loves a good comeback story.

I was wondering. Will they split Phack for good so we can watch Philly be romcom funny? Could the show do this?

Because the thing about romcom is that the films END WHEN THE COUPLE GETS TOGETHER. The hijinks and teases and fun and path to the couple hooking up is the entire movie. (That's why TV shows that tried this arc tended to pretty much die after the couple became a couple.) How do you do THAT on a soap, which is an open-ended narrative? Does the couple keep breaking up and then being funny when hooking up again? Because breakups on soaps (and everywhere else) are painful and not funny.

The stupidity of Mal's statement and outright unbelievable factor (how did you compile a bunch of clips of Philly romcom?? They were miserable and fucking behind Jack's back. I'll give them the flash drive scene but what else was even attempting to be funny?) is really shocking to me.

This same magazine has also spend the last ten years since Drucilla fell over the cliff speculating when Victoria Roswell would return to the show, despite having fights with most of her coworkers. I take it with a grain of salt.

that said, I'm over Adam as a character. There was no true recovery from the baby switch/ gaslighting thing and JFP turned him into a slightly more intelligent Nick. Stick a fork in me.

100 percent, this. If he insists on putting a light and fluffy couple into the show, go nuts, but he's trying way too hard to unring the bell that was Philly's angst ridden relationship, one that many viewers, myself included, didn't buy that either of them enjoyed being in. Especially not Phyllis.

Who exactly is Jason Thomson fucking at CBS to get this kind of attention and focus?

He's legit trying to change their story and the way they interact. He also wants Billy to be the poor, loveable hero. Look at all the women they have who coddle him.

Didn't you know? It's a woman's job to make sure men never suffer. They have man pain, women are just crazy. Men are motivated by trying to protect their families, women don't have those kinds of feelings. Women imagine things, men see things clearly. Don't you see? Men are noble, women are selfish and controlling.

I actually thought yesterday's scenes with Jack and Phyllis had a "rom-com" quality to them, and they worked because the actors have chemistry together.  Chemistry is kind of key for rom-com.  The flashdrive scenes just fell with a thud for me.

If this is the new direction for Jack and Phyllis, scheming and bickering in a Moonlighting sort of way, I could be on board for that.

See, I think what TIIC seem to miss is even Billy Miller's Billy didn't swoop in and become the hero. He was very much a fuckup, fresh from an exile to Hong Kong following a gambling addiction, when he stopped off in NYC long enough to Impregnate a social climbing Chloe. Then he comes back to marry Chloe and screws Sharon the night before....and oh yeah, the true pre-Victoria love of his life whose engagement was broken up because it turned out she was his cousin is, in fact, not his cousin and HE WUZ ROBBED!!!!! of a wonderful life with the biggest sourpuss in the genre this side of Katie Logan. Cue the emotional affair behind Chloe's back and the alcoholism which cumulates with the Christmas Eve bender and Christmas Carol special that ended with Victoria literally pulling him up from the gutter.

only THEN did he even begin to turn things around, where he became honest with himself, tried being a good husband to Vikki in spite of Stepha...um, Victor always insisting the most important woman in his life by default Vikki could do better and being involved in Delia's life.
