I am so sorry valley. I am really starting to hate the medical profession. It seems like in that last few years doctors care less and less about people. Nurses are still cool, though.

Has anybody heard from Ninja? I've been thinking about her all day.

valleycliffe, like Stitch, I'm not a doctor nor do I play one on tv.  But have you looked into turmeric or capsaicin to help with pain relief?  They're supposed to have anti-inflammatory properties.  I just checked the Arthritis Foundation website (www.arthritis.org), and they have a list of 9 natural supplements that are "backed by science to show effectiveness for RA".  It takes a while (as in weeks/months) to feel results, so some patience is required, but it could be worth checking out.

Of course, check with your doctor before taking anything, because even natural remedies can interact with other medications you take.

Me, too.  I wonder how long it takes to get the test results?

I am home after the great Titventure. I don't want to say too much and jinx anything, but the doctor was cautiously optimistic about what they saw. I could go on and on, however, at the superior care I received at "the big city" hospital. These people give a shit about woman's health and were absolutely excellent at relieving so much of my anxiety. I'm also banned from medical websites. Anyhoo, it was like going from Stitch's care to, well, anyone else's. Official results will be in Thursday.

Valley, it sucks that you went through that. I hope you are able to find the help you need. It sounds so damn frustrating.

NP, it sounds like you have good reason to feel optimistic. I remember when I had my needle-ectomy, the doctor dug his elbow so hard into my boob, I was black and blue for weeks. Glad you had a good experience.

valley, I have been taking CosaminASU, which I understand can take two months for full effectiveness.I've been on it (two a day, with meals) for two weeks. So far, I do feel better. Especially my knee. I have to go to downtown Seattle tomorrow for my hearing, and there will be a lot of walking. I'll let you know how I feel after that. But I'm going to give it the full two months either way. No side effects that I can discern.

To Valleycliffe, I dunno if you live in a medical MJ state, but there are many products out there that are especially good pain relievers...some of which that I found out the hard way (let's just say an embarrassing call to 911 was involved, followed by FB creepily posting drug intervention ads the next day :p).

It's a relief that you had a moderately comfortable and positive Titventure. Take heart, Ninja. This is positive news.

Sleep well tonight.

Truly an untenable situation, Valley. Is medical marijuana an option for you?

nope, nothing for pain as i had already taken my arthrotec..he just said to continue taking the tylenol in between the arthrotec..he said if need be, take 2...

my specialist is in vancouver, but he commutes from toronto..so he is only in town i think 1 week a month..i typically phone rin his receptionist and leave a message if she doesn't answer then she will fax or email him with my request..i'm not holding my breath..

This is the same advice I've been given as a pain regime. I'm on Arthrotec as well and supposed to take Tylenol in between. Trouble is,Tylenol makes me drowsy and it's tough on the liver. Just be careful of the amount you take. I don't find it works all that well either. :P JMHO but if you end up in ER because of pain, Tylenol isn't going to cut it. Eedjits!

my sister in law used to have to go thru the needleoptsy every couple of years...after the last one, she said enough and decided to have a double masectomy..she said she couldn't take the "not knowing" anymore and it was worse than anything else she endured..that was about 3 yrs ago.

YAY!!! So glad the procedure itself went well and you were treated with compassion.

The bedside manner was amazing. Everything was explained in a non-condescending way. I wasn't treated like a silly wimmen or rushed in and out so they could get to the next person. Yes, it is very sad that this isn't considered the typical standard of care where I live.

My co-worker was a little shirty that I'd be limited in what I could do at work tomorrow, but I have a doctor's note so he can eat a bag of buttbiscuits.

Well, wonder of wonders, I just talked to my TV Lawyer and it turns out he will be there tomorrow! He doesn't know how close I came to firing his ass. If I win my case he gets five large, so he better be there! Wish me luck, kids!

no, i didn't blame her either..we had a long talk before she went to the hospital for the surgery and she layed it all out for me like she was talking to dummer..which i appreciated.

she decided not to have reconstructive surgery as she likes her body just the way it is and said besides, she would be constantly worried something would go wrong with the implants..

^^^ OMG that commute sounds brutal.   I remember you feeling torn between the two job offers that presented themselves at precisely the same time.  *shakes fist at the universe*   Glad to hear that your bosses sound like decent folks,  small gestures of appreciation can mean everything some days.  So,  over all,  you're generally pleased with how it's panned out,  or are you still looking... still considering Toronto?   Twat managers seems to be the default setting  at too many places,  sorry you have to put up with yet another one.

Forgot to ask about your Grandfather,  is he still baking like Martha Stewart on speed and leaving you all the washing up?

Overall, I'm generally pleased.

If it was a full-time job, I would be ecstatic.

I think once summer is over, I will see about finding a second job to supplement this one. Basically something one or two days a week (10-15 hrs a week, tops.)

I'm not sure how feasible that is, but I will try.

And for now, I'm going to stick with Montreal. It's just easier not to uproot my life now that I've found something here. Plus, it'll be a nightmare trying to move with Steve. The slightest things throw him off and stress him out and make him not eat. And his vet is here, even though they were sucky people to work for, they are good at what they do and have managed to keep him alive.

Have all you paperwork in order, and remain calm. You're going to be fine, Peaches.

peacheslatour, are you back from the hearing already?  how did it go?

fingers and toes crossed.

It's not until 1:00 PT. We have a taxi coming at 11:30. Then we meet the attorney at 12:30 at the courthouse. I'm just sitting here reading all of y'all's witty posts, trying not to think about it. I'll probably double up on my BP meds here in a minute. And I may even take half a xanax at some point. If it weren't for you guys, I'd probably be much more nervous, but you have calmed me down so much with your kind words and optimism. I'll let everybody know how it went as soon as I get back. Even before I call my mom! Love you all!

Hi I'm baaaaack! Whew, what a long, drawn out ordeal. Thank god for my lawyer. I'll never say another bad thing about TV Lawyers again. He feels it went really well (his actual name is Wolf, like from Pulp Fiction, I kept expecting him to say "let's not start sucking each others dick's just yet") but we won't have a decision for 60 to 90 days so I will just try not to worry about it. I just hope I never have to do anything like that again. Jeez louise the questions they ask you!

Gramps isn't baking as much. But he's still making a mess everywhere and leaving it for me to clean up, lol. We learned a year ago he had three blocked arteries and they managed to put a stent in but one artery was too calcified. Sometimes he still doesn't feel well. Chest pain or arm pain, and he'll rest more and be less active. He's supposed to see his doctor again to see if they want to try and unblock another one but I'm not sure when that is supposed to happen. So, all of this is to say, lately he hasn't always been feeling so hot and as a result he's baking less. Which is good, because I'm on a diet now and he should be a well.

Valley I'm sorry I missed him! Let me know next time he's in Montreal and I'll see about attending one of his concerts.

Steve keeps choking on his pellets, y'all. He had no problems eating seeds, but pellets seem to baffle him. Sometimes he's okay and then other times he'll start moving his neck and making hacking motions and a pellet will fly out of his beak. I'm worried one day he'll choke to death. I tried giving him a smaller size pellet but he won't touch it. Why can't I have a normal bird? I tried explaining what I'm seeing to the vet but they seem baffled. I'm going to have to see if I can catch it on film one day and send it to them. I swear, if after all the money and time and diet change to improve his health he dies from choking on a pellet, I will be so mad. And devastated, obviously.

so happy your tv lawyer came thru for you....

were you just in judges chambers?

It was like a conference room with the judge sitting up on a dais and me, my lawyer and the court reporter all sitting around the conference table. We had microphones so they could record the whole thing. Oh, and there was a vocational expert on the phone on speaker. It lasted about an hour. I don't recommend it, but what are you gonna do?

Good news. I have a disease! Fibrocystic tit disease. I never thought I'd be happy to have a disease, but it beats the other possibilities. Now to sit back with a cool drink and images of buttbiscuits being launched into the sun.

Thanks, guys.

There could be more needles and mammograms in the future than what would be normal, but at least I'll know what's going on.

You guys really helped me, just by letting me know I'm not alone and that so many others have gone through this. I'm very grateful.

Personal link here--one of my older sisters [like 20-odd years older] was tested for this over 30 years ago, diagnosed, and is still going strong in her 80s. Take heart.
