I'm not against a well-written emotional scene between Laura and Elizabeth, but not if it's Laura going on about Liz lying about Jakeson. I'd rather it be about keeping brothers apart, and Laura could do that without getting high-horsey about it. She knows what it's like to have to keep that sort of secret and the toll of it, so let that be the emphasis, not that Liz is wrong. Though it wouldn't hurt to gently point that out. I just don't want people who know Jakeson is Jason to act as if they're better than Liz. If they're keeping the secret, they aren't.

Although, who I am kidding??

I know. Sigh.

Why is Scott concerning himself with what goes on with Laura, Lucky, and Nik? As far as he knows there's been no crime committed so whatever secret they may or may not be keeping is none of his business.

I loved watching Scotty make Nikolas squirm.  It's about time someone did, and Nikolas was very uncomfortable with Scotty's questions.  I love Scotty/Kin.  No one can do disgusted contempt better than him.

I thought TC played it like Nikolas is a mixture of uncomfortable and highly irritated - as in "you're getting into business that doesn't concern you, do I need to arrange for you to have an 'accident'?"  Scott didn't appeal to Nik as a son who should feel terrible for making his mother feel sad and burdened; it came across as nah nah nah I've called you here because I know there's a secret and I wanna make you squirm. So stupid. In Laura's position, I would smack Scott. She just told him something was bothering her, he says oh you can trust me, you can confide in me ... and then turns around and tells Nik what little he knows. Way to not have the upper hand, jackass. He has no idea what Nikolas is capable of - what Nikolas could do to Scott or even Laura if he felt his plans were threatened (and he's the son of nutjob Stavros, after all).

Scott is stupid and always has been when within a light year of Port Charles.  He was at his best with his wife who died.  Since then he has lost little grey cells every time he has come on screen.  If the writers cannot make Baldwin more intelligent, at least intelligent enough to come in out of the rain, then get rid of him.  He adds nothing of value to the show and quite frankly is an embarrassment.

I have come to the conclusion that I might be able to tolerate Sam is someone sewed her mouth shut.

This version of Sam that Ron created who can do no wrong and is the moral compass of the show is a snore.

This.  If half the town is going to know the secret before Sam and Monica (and Jason)  know, then half the town doesn't get to join in on the moral takedown on Liz when the truth comes out.  That same half the town also should be on the receiving end of whatever rage Sam, Monica, and Jason let loose.  Now, I'm fine if Jason is more angry with Liz and Nik then anyone else who knows, for obvious reasons.  But, if the end result of this story is that Liz is the town pariah and people who took part in keeping this secret get to look down on her, screw that.  Yes, Laura and Lucky were thrown under the bus with this crap writing, but, so were Liz and Nik.

Side note: If Nik was keeping something like this secret for the same kind of reasons Liz is (i.e. to keep getting some), I'd totally buy it, because Nik has been thinking with his dick first for years. But this ELQ "everyone in the family were big old meanies to Emily!" BS?  No.

I would feel better about Laura and Lucky and even Liz not telling the secret if they were doing so because Jason Morgan was a despicable human being who did nothing but kill people and destroy lives, and Jake Doe seems like a decent man and should not have to be burdened with Jason Morgan. Doing so out of hatred for Jason makes so much more sense then love for him

That would possibly work with Laura and Lucky, but not Liz. Liz loves Mobster Jason Morgan. There's no way around that.

I understand why Laura is approaching Liz and Jake Doe this way when she wasn't one-on-one with Liz; Jakeson's never met her. Laura and Jason (Morgan) knew each other, but their assocation was via Luke's relationship with Sonny. Laura knows Liz has been close to Jake Doe for months, and that he and Nikolas have known each other a while - but that Nikolas is firm about not telling the truth. Laura wants to appeal to Liz in ways she may respond to (we have history as family, you know what Nikolas and Lucky went through, I know you'll regret keeping this secret because when mine about my sons was outed it blew up in my face, etc.) She believes Elizabeth is on edge/upset, which she is and it shows to a woman who knows her ... despite Nik wanting to blow off his mother's concerns.

Laura just going to Monica right now and saying "Jake is really Jason! Nikolas confessed" would be a real WTH moment. She could go to Sam, but it would still be weird - I think they've met what, maybe twice? Hey, I have a life-altering secret to share - have a seat!

Nikolas made it clear this is about ELQ/money. Tracy, the one Q Family member who loathed Emily, brought her up in bitching out Nikolas about loyalty and ELQ, so that was his response. He didn't actually say the whole Q family treated her badly.

ETA: Genie rocks. I love seeing her as real Laura, not some timid fragile little flower. Yay!

I am so glad Ron got fired.

Having a character get genre savvy is fine. Making the serial killer genre savvy and the calm yoda voice of reason is insane.

Almost as insane as Avaenise's crappy accent.

Rebecca is a good actress, but she really needs to eat. Is there some way we can order Ensure on Amazon Prime and have it delivered to her?

So the points for today:

Elizabeth has clearly spent a lot of time with Nikolas -she's a close second to him in emotional manipulation. 'Keep the secret to protect your sons, especially Nikolas, and poor, comatose Hayden.'  But Becky is doing great playing a woman who's totally mentally/emotionally fucked up, desperate to make Laura believe she's keeping this secret out of love for Jakeson and Nikolas.

Between Sam and Jakeson, they have one complete brain. Patrick is devoid of his - nice HIPPA violation there, doc, yet again.

Genie is awesome at playing trying to contain Laura's shock heartbreak, anger ... and fear that her son is capable of being a monster. Tyler as Nikolas without a  conscience is a little creepy. I actually thought he might call Michael an annoying little gnat to his face.

Well that was a fine waste of yet another hour. Maybe it's just me but Michael almost looked relieved to be playing deadSilas, not that I blame him all things considered.

This show is just unmercifully shit right now, that's the best way I can put it. It's not just bad or terrible but also entirely unapologetic about it.

HeatLifer - C'mon, you know I can't be the only one thinking that about Sam,Jakeson, and Patrick today. Well, it's also because Patrick didn't look remotely suspicious that he caught the very end of Sam and Jakeson sitting close, conspiring. I guess he figures Sam is totes into him because he just did as he was told re:Liz and little Jake. That little jump of guilt 'cause she knows she's keeping something from Patrick and because of maybe a teensy bit of awareness she feels *something* for Jakeson, as well as the lack of smile or any encouragement whatsoever when he said he loves Liz and is happy with her family, was well played by KeMo, too.

I've never seen quite a character destruction as I've seen with Liz. There is nothing written anywhere to make anyone FEEL for her. It's so terrible.

Seriously. I was watching today and I am clinging my last little bit of LL2/nik/Emily love. I will always love that storyline and those characters as they were in it. But Liz today was either (depending on your POV) reprehensible and/or going off the deep end. Liz is gonna have to be sent off to Shadybrook or something for 6 months. I mean, she was pretty much blackmailing Laura, right, that Nikolas could go to prison? I did not misread that part?

I'm gonna be annoyed if the new regime sets up a rivalry between poor innocent Hayden and crazy Liz though.

Wow, I thought Ava would at least tell Morgan the truth. So Morgan's possible motive for murder is he wanted to make sure that both his booty calls were, well, on call? At best, he possibly killed Kiki's dad so he wouldn't destroy her with the news that Morgan was cheating. So Morgan thinks that cheating would hurt Kiki worse than Silas being dead?!?!

Classic Morgan, I guess.

Team Michael, but I was finding him a bit annoying in the scenes. it was like okay, stop threatening him for the 5th time and go home. We can add "great grandfather's company" to lines used in the GH drinking game.

Um, so now poor crazy pants Nina is gonna think she killed Silas while either Ava or Morgan (or some random person, because I definitely don't think it's Morgan) let her hang for it? Didn't we just do this with her? Aren't we STILL doing this with her?

I didnt think they would kill Silas that soon.

Liz sucks! Throwing Nik under the bus for her Jasey poo.

Nik would throw her under the bus in a second as well. They deserve each other at the moment, unfortunately.

lol at this line

Sam: Jason's pain (over little Jake) ran so deep, you couldn't tell from the outside.

his pain was so bad that he didn't make an expression! You keep telling yourself that Sam.

Little Jake. oh man, they got me doing it too.

Ugh...there were so many people I wanted to slap today....repeatedly...until my hand fell off...and then I'd go and get a bionic hand so I could slap them again...hard. When Franco is one of the least smug, delusional people on screen it's a bad day. Not that Franco and Nina shouldn't take all the seats. Like plenty of people have said Franco judging anyone is rich. And Nina needs to shut her damn pie hole. Yeah, Silas sucked for cheating on her, but it's not as if Nina is some fragile, delicate flower who suffered in silence. She went above and beyond to get her revenge on him. It's sort of sucky that Silas let her think she kidnapped the baby, but after what she did after she came out of her coma, she should have been grateful that Silas wasn't suing her ass and was even talking to her. And maybe if she hadn't kidnapped Avery already, she wouldn't have been the number one suspect this time.

Morgan, Morgan, Morgan. Morgan is definitely exhibit A that it's a good thing Sonny and Carly's first kid was never born because we do not need two of those around. Somehow, Morgan has managed to inherit all of Sonny and Carly's worst traits to an amplified degree. You would think after the incident with drugging Michael, that Morgan might have learned a little something about taking personal responsibility but, no, he's just as dumb and selfish as ever. Morgan has been given chance after chance to stop screwing Denise. Silas, by all rights as Kiki's dad, had every right (hypocrite or not) to just tell Kiki the truth the first time he knew they were messing around. But, Morgan, got the gift of getting a chance to rectify his mistake when Silas agreed to keep quiet. What does he do with that gift, quite literally fucks up immediately. But instead of taking responsibility, he has the gall to say that if Silas tells Kiki, he'd be the one hurting Kiki. Not the two assholes fucking around behind her back, but the person who opened her eyes to how she was being betrayed. I almost want him to be guilty of murdering Silas. I'm hoping the new regime might actually have people being punished and it sticking. Morgan can go to jail and get the fuck off my screen.

To quote TeeVee329, I thirst for Nikolas' comeuppance. What a smug asshole! I really wish Michael had just decked the son of a bitch.

I don't want Liz to skate again over what she's done, but after this comes out she needs to be shipped off to the nearest funny farm because the witch is cracked! "How can you put Nikolas in this position?" Did those words seriously come out of her mouth. She believes that Nikolas had a woman brutally shot and she asks Laura how she can put him in that position by asking him for the truth. Wow! And it is scary how at ease she is with just letting Nik roam free. "Oh, yeah he had this woman shot and then indicated he'd have her murdered if she woke up from her coma. But that's totes her problem. Did I tell you Jason and I have sex five times a week?"

I would hope that Laura would be so horrified about what Nikolas has become that she'd happily let his ass get arrested, but sadly, that probably won't happen. At least she has a somewhat more understandable reason for keeping quiet. I am glad that the reason she wanted to come clean was because of Monica. I was so briefly happy when she shut that shit down when Liz tried to act like Monica's grief was the same as hers.

Elizabeth does not need anyone to teach her about emotional manipulation. That fake breakdown stunt with Lucky and convincing Sam that she and Jason were dating during her maternity switch shenanigans? All Liz.

Nik isn't making her do this. He's not convincing her or tutoring her. This playing house nonsense was all her idea and she only wished she hadn't done it when she thought Hayden was going to expose her.

It's not fair to rail at the unhealthy 'rescue me' dynamic L&L2 was supposed to have and then blame Nik for failing to rescue Liz from herself.

Not only did Morgan have the option of not fucking Denise, but he could have just broken up with Kiki. I kinda wish that Morgan did it too. I'm thinking at the very least, he knocked down Silas, he got conked out, and he thinks that that killed him. Otherwise I dunno why he's so nervous.

I suppose, because he is an idiot, he could have seen the body and decided not to do anything about it.

but yeah, so as it is, Morgan appears to not have taken either of his two options out of Silas not telling makes it seem like he wanted Kiki and Denise both as bed buddies.

And him ranting and raving about how dare Silas want to hurt Kiki like that . . . oy.

But now I'm thinking the only reason they had Morgan and Kiki hook back up again in the first place is to establish Morgan's motive in the murder in the first place. So that's all that was really. Once again plot wins over character in a major way.

I feel like ReRon knew he was out the door and is trolling every GH fan really hard. Nothing makes sense anymore and I am tired of making sense of it.

Maybe. I think this is just what got him fired, terrible, terrible writing.

I do think this Morgan stuff may be the result of Brydog complaining on twitter. "Oh, you thought the whole alcoholic thing was bad?!?!"

Considering that Nikolas hasn't been able to keep his mouth shut about his big dark secret or not speak with doors wide open so that other's can overhear his conversation, he's in no position to judge Laura or Scotty.  The only reason Lucky and Elizabeth know is because Nikolas told them, and the only reason Laura and Hayden know is because Nikolas and Elizabeth were once again talking in open spaces rather than behind closed doors.  They are the worst secret keepers - ever.  I still loved Scotty for making Nikolas squirm.  I love Nikolas, but he's been too smug lately.

Eh, this is nothing.  Carly was about to marry the man who got her child raped.  Nothing can top that from RC's craptastic writing.

I'm fine with Michael taunting Nikolas.  Nikolas came into ELQ and put his feet up on the desk, which pissed me off.  I'd prefer Michael getting in Nikolas' face, even if it's just to taunt him, than have him spend his time at the gym and not even thinking about ELQ.  At least Michael is thinking about ELQ and trying to get it back.  A CEO should be doing that, and so it makes me happy.  If Michael finds out that he had Hayden shot, it will be the leverage he needs to blackmail Nikolas into getting all the shares back.

I am now wondering if there was a meeting held where all the useless sacks in charge decided to make pretty much everyone a reprehensible tosser of some kind.

These characters are either guilty of actual and fairly deplorable and unforgivable crimes or just guilty of being really shitty and selfish assholes.

And as far as Liz goes...holy smokes, I'm reminded of a scene on Game Of Thrones where they had the female character  Cersei walk through the town bare ass naked and was basically abused and humiliated in every way imaginable. It's as if they're trying to set up Liz to take such a fall.

I have never had any use for Liz since she first came to PC but what they are currently doing goes way beyond character assassination, it's total annihilation.

I suppose that's possible. When she first said it to Laura, I thought she was just pulling it out of her butt to make Laura. But the more she kept talking about it and adding up the evidence made it seem like Liz truly believed it. Then again Liz is crazy and a good liar, so maybe she's just really good at selling it.

Sam: Jason's pain (over little Jake) ran so deep, you couldn't tell from the outside.

I forgot about that - I hated her saying Jasus' grief was the worst. Yes, Sam, sure was worse for the man who barely knew the kid than it was for his own mother and brother, who lived with him everyday. I swear, every Jasus-centric moment she has makes it really really hard for me to like her. Same for Liz right now, too.

A) New T-shirt slogan!! Yay TeeVee329! LOL

B) I thought Liz was trying to say, if you don't confront Nikolas, neither of us are accessories to attempted murder, and it would be too awful for Laura to have to face something so horrible concerning her own son. I also thought she was worried that Nikolas could strike out at them for knowing about/discussing/considering telling anyone he tried to have Hayden killed. She looked a little scared when Nikolas arrived right at the end of her intense conversation/debate with Laura.

C) Yeah, Laura is the first one to think of Monica's pain and loss. Liz did not appreciate that being brought up to consider, for sure.

And, it it weird that I actually believe ReRon would be that petty when it comes to getting back at actors who complain about their storylines? LOL

Honestly, why didn't JT complain about his fucked up storyline by now? It would be a lot better than what he is getting now but then again anything would have been a lot better than what he got right now.

Considering that the only consistent trait the writers have given her in months is protecting this secret? I think it's much more likely that she was worried that Nik would contradict something she'd said to Laura and Laura would then tell Monica the truth.

I'm really hoping she doesn't actually believe Nik had Hayden shot

But that's who he was. Jakeson needs to deal with that. It's clear Jakeson is a different guy; knowing he's Jason shouldn't mean he automatically return to being in the mob.

Nik had no problem throwing Sam and the Qs under the bus. Karma's a bitch. Nik gets no sympathy from me.

More people need to call people's bluff. It got Silas killed (I love you, Michael Easton!), but it's the only way to get the upper hand. The majority of the time the blackmailing person won't follow through anyway.

1. Nothing will ever ruin the parts of GH in the past that I love. Yes, even Patrick.

2. Be prepared for poor Hayden.

3. Yes, Liz was blackmailing Laura and made her cry and said Monica doesn't matter and it's sick.

Considering that the only consistent trait the writers have given her in months is protecting this secret? I think it's much more likely that she was worried that Nik would contradict something she'd said to Laura and Laura would then tell Monica the truth.

I'm really hoping she doesn't actually believe Nik had Hayden shot

Didn't Nik tell Liz he would "take care of Hayden"? Maybe Liz assumes (like the rest of the town) that Shawn aka I Never Met a Target I Couldn't Hit actually did it, but she knows Nik planned to "silence" Hayden.

Elizabeth does not need anyone to teach her about emotional manipulation. That fake breakdown stunt with Lucky and convincing Sam that she and Jason were dating during her maternity switch shenanigans? All Liz.

Nik isn't making her do this. He's not convincing her

It's not fair to rail at the unhealthy 'rescue me' dynamic L&L2 was supposed to have and then blame Nik for failing to rescue Liz from herself.

I don't mean just in this storyline - Nikolas has been playing mind games with people for some years now. He's manipulated or attempted to manipulate mostly women and/or family. Elizabeth's closeness to Nikolas has been destructive over time, esp. when they're both feeling selfish. The breakdown stunt was after the Niz affair. She's been in the muck (emotionally) starting before that affair and it just got worse with Jake's "death." She confessed that when she was trying to convince Sam she and Jason were dating, she felt her life was shit and wanted Jason to take the pain away...make her happy.

No, Nik isn't making her/convincing her. But she should never have had a choice in the first place because she should not have been the first one told. She's not Jason's family; she should have found out from either Sam or Monica after Nikolas came clean with them. Rescuing Liz from herself (at least from the way things stand currently) wouldn't be an issue.  Both the Liz and Lucky and Liz and Nikolas relationships became unhealthy over time. Liz and Nik's 'friendship' is highly toxic, as we can see.

Reading all of today's comments regarding Morgan, my heart is breaking for the Morgan I loved before he was shipped off to military school.  I had hopes that he would be the one to grow up decent in spite of his parents.
