Carey September 11, 2022 Share September 11, 2022 (edited) With about 10 minutes to go, I totally forgot about the spread for SNL & the games of the week (both on CBS & FOX as will be the case in Week 18): Chiefs favored by 6 with a 53.5 O/U: (Cards cover & the over hits) Packers favored by 1 with a 46.5 O/U: (Vikings cover, but the under is it) Bucs favored by 2.5 (Cowboys cover, though the over does NOT hit) The data comes courtesy of CBS Sports (except for the Green Bay game; that's from USA Today). ETA: Jacksonville still sucks, Carolina is not good & Rhule still gets tossed by year's end, and Indy? Forget about them ETA2: Man, as mentioned, San Francisco blew it, though they were sans Kittle. Still, it's Week One, but they gave position back to Los Angeles (where a tie-breaker wouldn't favor in too much barring a better AFC mark from someone else in the NFC West or if someone like the Packers or Vikings beat Buffalo) Edited September 11, 2022 by Carey How awful I've performed thus far 1 Link to comment
Xeliou66 September 11, 2022 Share September 11, 2022 Falcons lose. It’s truly astounding how fucking awful they are in the 4th quarter, I mean I knew that had a bad team this year and won’t be good, but they had this game won and shit themselves. They do this all the time, every since Super Bowl 51 this has been a common trend. Worst chokers in sports, what a joke. Matty Ice led a comeback and the Colts and Texans are in OT. Link to comment

meowmommy September 11, 2022 Share September 11, 2022 Cincinnati has one of the best kickers in the league and he can't catch a break because of the fill-in long snapper. Argghh. Just shows every spot on the roster is important. And the Colts' kicker hooks his kick to the right. Not the snapper in this case. Random hypothetical question: say a team marches very slowly down the field and retains possession of the ball for the entire OT period, then kicks a FG on the last play of OT. Does the other team get a play, since they're each supposed to get a possession? 1 Link to comment

He was 2 yards in front of the defender and the ball was dropped into his hands beautifully. However, all the offensive players went over to him on the bench after the punt to offer some encouragement. The Packers offense looks awful, which is not surprising, since most of them haven't played together in a game since January. I realize they don't want injuries in the preseason, but there's a price to be paid, especially with all the new WRs. What has surprised me about the Packers is that the defense is playing so lousy. They gave up 262 yards in the first half. That's awful. The Packers' corners are supposed to be some of the best in the league, but Jefferson is making them look like clowns. Time to see what the 2nd half brings. A lot of significant injuries this week. 3 Link to comment

Xeliou66 September 11, 2022 Share September 11, 2022 Vikings dominate the Packers from start to finish and win 23-7. Lousy start for the Packers as they looked bad on both sides of the ball, while the Vikings looked great, their defense was much improved from last season and the offense had a solid, balanced attack, with Justin Jefferson looking great. Giants beat the Titans 21-20 as Brian Daboll elects to go for 2 and the win after a late TD, gutsy move that I liked and the Giants get a nice win. Chargers beat the Raiders 24-19, Herbert looked very sharp while Carr didn’t, 3 INT’s for Carr, Raiders still managed to keep it close but I have no confidence in the Raiders or Carr. Who knows how good the Giants will actually be this season but if Daboll does the unthinkable and actually rights this ship, we can all point to this victory to where it all started. Also, I'm not sure I want to rank the Packers among the elites anymore. They looked like an absolute train wreck. Aaron Rodgers looks like a guy who doesn't know who he can throw the ball to. Kyler Murray also looks like he isn't doing his independent study. That play on fourth down near the end of the 2nd quarter where he missed a wide open receiver? Maybe Tony Romo was right and the play happened so fast that Murray never saw him but the play was designed that way so I'm not sure that's much of an excuse. The Chiefs look good- I don't think there's any doubt on that. They do need a running game and they need a receiver who will take the load off of Travis Kelce. JuJu Smith-Shuster had some nice numbers but he's no Tyreek Hill and he needs to be better holding on to the ball. 3 minutes ago, Xeliou66 said: I don’t want to overreact cause it’s just Week 1 but that was a lousy performance from the Packers, and their offense looks like it could be in big trouble, Adams made up such a huge part of their offense last year that they just looked lost without him.
