Maelstrom September 12, 2015 Share September 12, 2015 It's so true, Steve was not spared when it came to getting manhandled. In fact, sometimes it seemed like he spent more time beaten up than healthy. I love that clip, NumberCruncher, it's one of my favorites! Actually, it might've been one of the first S&K clips I came across, and which made me search out the whole story. I heart them so! 1 Link to comment
DisneyBoy September 30, 2015 Share September 30, 2015 I remember Kristin meeting Chad when she first returned to Salem. He was working at a coffeeshop and had once been a model and seemingly wanted nothing to do with Stefano...then, I totally lost track of his character as the Krady/Jarlena stuff kicked into high gear...and then he came back as Billy Flynn Chad. What happened in the interim there? How did he leave the canvas and why did he return in a suit with a key to the Manor? Link to comment
JBC344 October 1, 2015 Share October 1, 2015 Kristen used her relationship along with the memories of Lexie to get Chad back into the family fold. Chad became close to EJ and Kristen and started to give Stefano a chance again. Chad took a bullet for EJ and was badly injured. He spent months in Boston recovering with Stefano by his bedside. I also thought he had history with Abi. Does that pre-date Kristin's return? I'm surprised he took a bullet for Stefano... Chad actually got caught in the cross fire of someone trying to kill EJ. At that time in the story, Chad was involved in a triangle with Abby and Cameron Davis (Lexie's brother, Celeste's son). Chad took advice from EJ and faked a health scare in order to manipulate Abby to get her to pick him over Cameron. When Abby found out she dumped Chad. Shortly after that he was shot and transferred to a hospital in Boston. Chad's history with Abby was pre and during Kristen's return. The triangle storyline was pretty weak considering the better story would of been to focus on Cameron and Chad and their shared family history. Link to comment

They totally didn't use him to his full potential. They made him Celeste's son and didn't even use him properly. They mentioned his father kept him away from Celeste presumably because she was the pseudo matriarch of a mob family. I was expecting that we would find out that Stefano paid off the father to take Cameron away so he could keep Celeste into the fold. Or we would get a Cameron hates the Dimeras for his mother's absence in his life. All of this would of made a much better storyline between Chad and Cameron exploring the fact that they not only share a beloved sister but that their parents have spent a majority of their lives with each other. That both men didn't grow up with said parent. 1 Link to comment

JBC344 October 7, 2015 Share October 7, 2015 All this talk of Cameron and Celeste made me think of the old dropped plot of Caprice knowing Celeste and calling her Frankie every time she saw her. Celeste was clueless as to how Caprice knew her as Frankie and what she had against her. The character of Caprice was dropped and we never found out what the writers were going with that plotline. When Cameron showed up they should of brought back Caprice as his aunt on his father's side. That would of explained her hatred of Celeste. Caprice could of hated Celeste for not fighting hard enough for Cameron and essentially choosing her life with the Dimera's over him. God that was such a wasted opportunity. As random as Cameron was they did find a "plausible" way to introduce him and they managed to fit it in to Celeste's history. Celeste would of conceived Cameron while she was at Maison Blanche. This would of been after Peter and Kristen went to college and/or moved out but before Hope came to live there in the 90's. 2 Link to comment
SanDiegoInExile October 8, 2015 Share October 8, 2015 Caprice was a bogus character. She was allegedly "like a second mom" nanny to Belle and Brady. Presumably these years of trust, love, and adoration all happened during the three weeks (5 SalemDays) that John and Marlena went on their Hawaiian Honeymoon, during which time Belle and Brady SORASed 10-12 years. I loved Celeste. Tanya Boyd was amazing and made the silliness fun/believable. I loved the unseen backstory with Caroline, especially since Caroline always called her "Frankie", even if we never saw her during all those years at the fish market. Back then, Shawn and Caroline were pretty minor characters anyway. Like most recasts, the most recent Celeste 2.0 fell flat. Great actress, bad casting. It did not help to suddenly have Jay Leno as a son. Would be great to get a few more scenes between Stefano and Celeste before Joe retires/dies. 2 Link to comment

Truth be told the Caroline/Frankie friendship would of pre-dated anything we saw onscreen. This would of been before Lexie or Bo were born. I was bummed when Tanya Boyd couldn't come back for Lexie's farewell, but was interested in the fact that they cast Beverly Todd, who is a great actress in her own right. TPTB just failed with giving her any real storyline. The Chad/Cameron friendship should of been an umbrella story to focus on their parents rich history. Or even brining back Caprice would of been an interesting way to give Celeste a storyline. They even conveniently left her out of "Caroline gets Alzheimer's" storyline which would of been a great way to bring up Caroline's illness through her friendship with Celeste. 1 Link to comment

I remember these little boys so well and it made me sad to find this picture! Only on a soap can you watch multiple characters be born and age through the years. He was born a couple of years after my own No matter what arguments they had (Will was really snotty for a while) she always loved him. I don't think she was a bad parent. In the morgue when they were saying they should have been better parents I was thinking how they shouldn't have protected him so much or he might have a clue about Psycho Ben. Baby Will looks a lot like GW in the pic of Maggie holding him. Edited October 20, 2015 by QuelleC 3 Link to comment
Dandesun October 26, 2015 Share October 26, 2015 I swear to God I haven't given up or forgotten. Things get in the way but I'm back to explore the Steve and Kayla story. We are still in Stockholm. Kayla is knocking on Steve's door and he, of course, answers and a towel dripping wet. This sort of thing happens all the time on soaps. Movies to really. On film, whether television or movies, people are all too ready to answer the door and a towel. This makes marginally more sense when one is in a hotel room but still. It serves it's purpose. It's meant for pure fan service and to give someone an eyeful as the sexual tension amps up. Steve is toying with his sweet nurse regarding having to put clothes on. Kayla call his bluff. As he's about to call her bluff right back and drop the towel the phone rings. Orpheus escaped. You can't keep a good villain down. Kayla weirdly wants to put off telling Roman and Marlena. That girl's libido is en fuego! But Steve rightly tells her that Roman and Marlena need to know so they can keep a weather eye out. So off they go to interrupt Roman and Marlena’s sexy times. Roman actually says through the door "Can't you hear we are busy?" To his sister. Ew. But true. Those are some paper thin walls. So they break the news and everyone is appropriately somber about it all. The best part about this is Drake!Roman pronouncing ‘escaped’ as ‘ex-scaped.’ We then cut to Steve and Kayla back in her hotel room. I guess they're waiting while other parties are dealing with the Orpheus on the loose situation. Steve's puffing away on his harp and Kayla suggests he relax. He sits next to her for five seconds and then gets up. He's got too much energy, he says, and if he sits next to her for too long he may try to start expunging it in a manner that might offend her. Kayla seems vastly amused by his attempts to use her virtue as an obstacle. I really like this. Kayla is a modern 80s woman and definitely not a blushing virgin. Even today writers are a bit caught up in some Madonna/Whore complex with their women -- not so here. Kayla may be a good girl but she knows what sex is and isn't afraid of it. She seems rarin’ to go, actually. Room service arrives. Kayla apparently sprung for a sumptuous meal. Steve is super uncomfortable but eventually relents. Oh look, candles… of course. (I've never received candles when I order room service, dammit.) The maid shows up then to turn down the bed. Okay, I guess. There’s just a stream of people showing up at this point. As the maid asks about the other young lady checking out (Hope) and Kayla says yes, it’s just her that night, Steve pops up from his chair and proudly announces that he will be staying in the room as well. You know, to protect her and stuff. Then Roman arrives and Steve legit throws out a Crockett and Tubbs reference. Totally 80s! As I’m waiting for the next rando to wander into their room, night falls. Oh. Okay. Steve is writing in his journal? Sure, why not? "Dear diary... I'm sleeping in the same room as Sweetness. I told her it was to protect her and that was it, but you know, Diary. I'm going to triple-check to find out if this woman snores before I get in any deeper... Oops, here she comes! More later!" Kayla's wearing one of those satiny button down nightshirts. They were all over the place back in the day. Hers is a soft yellow. (Mine was blue.) She actually says the words "do you want to go to your room and get your pajamas" to Steve. I die of embarrassment on the spot. Steve totally makes fun of this as well he should. Come on Kayla! Get your head in the game! Pajamas? Really? She turns off the light and they eye-fuck for about five minutes before bunking down. They're probably both wishing they could do a little covert masturbating if you get right down to it. The longing gazes are coming fast and furious at this stage. (Still no kissing, by the way.) The next morning Steve is shaving and talking to Kayla about how to spend their last night in Stockholm. He mentions her Sound of Music taste in clothes (so, drapes? Or clothes so ugly even the poor don't want them?) and then he dares her to wear leather before realizing she's not actually there. He panics and runs to the door where she's just about to walk in. He kind of flips out at her and then hugs her. It's all very cute as he's first being his flirtatious self, then panicked, then flips out in relief and then tries to play it off like he was only really worried because Roman would be on his case if anything happened to her. Sure Steve, sure. Kayla had gone to get a dress for their last night in Stockholm and, while she changes, Steve gives himself a pep talk in the mirror. (Remember! Steve doesn’t exactly love himself so he’s working up the attitude to escort a lady like Kayla around Sweden’s capital.) He's dressed kind of pirate-y, black shirt, tight black pants, but it's actually nice for him. (Sleeves! And most of the buttons have been used! Crazy!) Kayla comes out and I have to talk about this dress. If you didn't experience the 80s you should look at this dress. It wasn’t an all neon, jellies, and acid wash denim in that decade, y’all. Kayla is covered from neck to toes; even the sleeves are long. She's in royal blue, belted at the waist and there is this graphic design on the left shoulder cascading down the front in some silver metallic fabric. Seriously, I feel 13 just looking at this. It would've been considered very glamorous and sophisticated by viewers of the time, I assure you. It’s kind of like… this dress is what someone envisioned a member of Prince’s Revolution to wear to a formal dinner. (Any member of Prince’s Revolution would wear exactly what they wear on videos and award shows, really, but the someone who designed this dress had a DREAM so who am I to piss all over it?) The only thing missing is a shit-ton of random lace and a bolero hat (also with random lace.) Although there is the misfortune of one of the metallic squares is being placed right over her nipple. Design fault or is that on purpose? I’m not sure but it does result in a bit of a titscrepancy (™ TLo.) This is so 80s I can hardly bear it. It's not Madonna “Lucky Star” 80s. Or Duran Duran girls in fabric and body paint on a yacht 80s. It's more along the lines of Dynasty 80s in the cut of the dress but not quite as over the top glam that they went. Looking at Kayla in this dress with her big hair and the metallic accents, you understand why hair metal was such a thing. It all fits! Steve ogles her like she came out in a négligée. See? 80s classy! He's totally smitten and intimidated. Lots of plinky piano and more eye-fucking before they go visit... Helga. Wow. What an amazing night on the town. Steve wanted Kayla to dress in leather for this? Oh well. Whatever. More plinky plinky music in the firelight as Kayla starts in on all of Steve's good points. She seems to be getting somewhere when... The Fonz shows up? What the hell? Fonzie lays it on really thick to get Kayla to leave and then hits Steve in all of his soft spots about guys from the street looking out for each other and having each other’s backs because no one else gives a damn especially not pretty classy dames like that pretty classy blonde Steve was gazing at in the firelight. He makes Steve feel really uncomfortable and shitty about himself. Obviously, when Kayla comes back to tell him dinner’s ready Steve bellows at her and pisses her off. Oh, the road to true love ne'er did run smooth. Fonzie badger Steve's into smuggling some emeralds and he finally agrees. I think the $20,000 price tag helped a little. Then Helga tells him Kayla took off so he goes after her and they have another fight. He’s pissed that she ran off alone when Orpheus is still at large, she’s pissed that he pulls the macho bullshit act at the drop of a hat. Or whenever the Fonz makes an appearance. The push/pull is in full force here. “I know who you are!” “You're the only one who does!” “I don't understand you!” “You just said you did!” “What is your deal?” “You just don’t get me, baby! You never will!” Steve's Manly Tears show up again as he tells Kayla that a leopard can't change his spots. You can tell he feels bad about agreeing to add smuggling to his list of dirty deeds not done really dirt cheap. $20,000 is a pretty decent score when it comes down to it. Kayla and Steve switch beds that night for some reason and Kayla is awoken by someone fiddling with the door the next morning. She goes to jump on Steve in a panic and he's all “Well climb aboard, baby!” before realizing what's what. It's just a maid. It's always a maid. Steve plays it all off as though they were getting it on. Kayla's flustered and it's a very cute scene. Some of it seems adlibbed (like when she looks under the covers and he’s all ‘Stop that!’) but then room service shows up. Steve ordered at this time, complete with yellow rose, and they start playing truth or dare. Because... okay. Steve asks her what she sees in him. Woo! Serious stuff! She runs down the whole thing… She trusts him with her life. He has a good soul and he's been burned so many times he's afraid to get too close again. She demands he tell her if things will be different between them when they get back to Salem. He finally relents and says they will. She goes to shower. He puts the emeralds in a jacket and sticks it in the closet to leave behind. He calls the Fonz to tell him the deal’s off and they prepare to go. But of course, Kayla double-checks the room and finds the jacket and sticks it in her carry-on. Steve's attempt to go straight is thwarted! Oh noes! After a brief soft moment on the plane (it wasn't brief, Kayla yammers on for like an hour about changing and being what they want to be and new beginnings and it’s almost mind numbing, to be honest) Steve sleeps all the way back to Salem International Airport and then full on shits himself when he wakes up to see Kayla wearing the jacket. The Fonz did not take kindly to getting screwed, so he called in an anonymous tip and the cops haul Steve away. Of course, he's clean and he tries to deflect from Kayla when the cops decide that they need to check her out. She, meanwhile, calls Chris!Roman and then discovers the jewels in the jacket pocket. She’s fucking PISSED but manages to stash the gems right before the cops nab her to search her for the emeralds. She's clean too but keeps giving Steve the stink guy. Steve has no idea what's going on with the gems and the cops are utterly flummoxed that their anonymous tip didn't pan out. Steve keeps trying to get Kayla to tell him what happened. She's stonewalling like a champ playing it coy. “Why? What do you think they’re going to find?” Chris!Roman gets them released in time for Marlena's homecoming party. Steve's dressed in his brown leather blazer and bolo tie again… Now, I'm not going to lie, my dad had both a brown leather blazer and a bolo tie. He stopped wearing the bolo tie the late 70s and the brown leather blazer... look my dad was not a formal dude so he didn't wear it that much anyway. I get it but Steve could not look more out of place at this party is what I'm saying. Also, the fact that my dad owned and wore both of these items does not make them any less ridiculous. Then Marilyn McCoo starts singing? The fuck? Was this before or after her stint on Solid Gold? Disappointingly, she is not singing “The Wedding Bell Blues.” Alas. Steve and Kayla are engaged in heavy, silent gazes while Marilyn sings. She is singing “Love Lift Us Up Where We Belong” and I have to admit I am not a fan of this song. I am really yearning to hear some “Biiiilll… I love you so, I always will…” or maybe even “Age of Aquarius.” Come on, Marilyn. (By the way, Marlena’s metallic dress at the party is super reminiscent of Vera’s dress during the end credits of Secret of My Success. Yes, I totally went there.) Things are tense between Steve and Kayla. She's super disappointed in him (although I keep getting distracted by her GIANT NECKLACE made of metallic leaves and… acorns? Ginormo beads? It looks like it weighs a ton and might also be the key to opening a gateway for a Celtic God to enter our world. Hail Lord Cernunnos!) and he tells her that he's been saying all along he wasn't right for her. "Face it, baby. I'm just not your type." Kayla finally agrees with this and storms off. Now, Steve’s the one who is disappointed. He has a sad. And it’s all Arthur Fonzarelli’s fault!! Well, at least they're not in Stockholm any more. 6 Link to comment

DisneyBoy November 8, 2015 Share November 8, 2015 Question - did Rafe know that Jordan was molested by her father? And if so did he ever tell Kate what Clyde did? It is really starting to feel as though all of the story payoff for Clyde is being swept under the rug...and I can't imagine why they would do that, after insisting on keeping Clyde around for a year. Won't we see Kate flip out at having been with a molester again? Won't we see Sami flip out over Clyde's murder of EJ? Or are they just going to retcon it into Stefano's murder of EJ? 1 Link to comment
LeftPhalange November 8, 2015 Share November 8, 2015 Only Clyde and Jordan know about him raping her. If the writers had any intention of revealing it I assume it would have happened while Jordan were still in town and Kate were still dating him. People might find out that he had EJ killed at some point, but who knows. I don't understand what they're doing with this whole EJ and the letter thing. 3 Link to comment

Peanut6711 November 11, 2015 Share November 11, 2015 Ben delivered a liine to our Princess today that will live forever in my prevert of a brain "I'll uncuff you so we can make love". He was channeling his inner Christian Gray. LOL Who has the ability to discuss what happened to Jennifer? Still hate Jack. Understand that Matt Ashford did an excellent job (I know people who have been raped, not so many married them.) Almost liked him, but I didn't have to care because I had to many super couples to choose from. I lived in Chicago at the time and had to run for the el when we got out of school early and defy my mother to watch Days.It was awesome. I watched Marlena kill Stephano the first time on the catwalk! awesome TV, or I was really young. Will talk more clearly when awesome vodka wears off. Kate is not terrible. She doesn't understand the history, Jennifer Horton is hardly Jennifer; and the whole business of what happened with Peter is relevant and awesome and terrible! Bring orignal Peter back. That is something I would watch all day! Less vodka, more analysis! I will do better y'all. Give me a chance preverts. I am a better writer without Vodka! edited to say, i don't know anyone who marries their rapist, not that Matt did anything illegal or Melissa Brennan (whatever her name is after she married that Ryan guy) did any such thing. I too hate Jack's character. MA did a great acting job but Jack should have remained the villain he was. I've never bought his redemption and never will. He went from being a deranged, jealous bastard to a goof and a family man. Doesn't sit with me. And I've never understood all the vocal resentment of EJ, a self proclaimed 'bad man' and his coerced sex with Sami, but the acceptance of Jack as a changed man after his much more brutal and violent rape of Kayla. It blows my mind that Kayla and Jennifer can be causal with each other when Jennifer married Kayla's ex-husband and rapist. As far as Jennifer and Peter....are you talking about Peter Blake? If so, JB will never return. Too much personal history/scandal with MR in the real world ;-) I read somewhere that Brandon Beemer is replacing Jason Cook as Shawn in 2016. I have no idea why and I'm not really sure it's neccesarly needed. I guess they need a young stud with abs to replace Shawn Christian whenever he supposedly leaves. I loathed BB as Shawn. If JC isn't sticking around then let him and Belle and Claire sail back into the sunset. Ew please don't tell me they're going to stick Kate with this random Eddie dude. I saw that coming weeks ago. And I could see them together if it wasn't for one truly icky detail....Kate already slept with his son! YUK I agree with this--I'm not getting any sense of worry or urgency from KM, it's like she knows Ben will never hurt her, no matter what she says or does, so I'm not in fear for her or her life. And as many times as KM scrunches up her face, she just can't bring the tears. I think she needs to stop attempting it. KM knows her character is safe so her limited acting skills make it difficult for her to convey real fear. Any other female character on this show in a situation being held hostage by their serial killer boyfriend who just called her out on being a liar and a cheater would have been raped or killed. But clearly KM knows she has some kind of connection behind the scenes at the show that keeps her character from any real turmoil. 2 Link to comment
DisneyBoy November 11, 2015 Share November 11, 2015 (edited) Probably in anticipation of a viewing uptick for the 50th, the network came down HARD on YouTube uploads. You might be able to find some clips on Hulu. Well lucky me :( Hulu is not my friend. And really - who exactly were these videos hurting? It's not like NBC reruns the show or sells DVDs or anything... Thanks for attempting to search for the videos Boes. Edited November 11, 2015 by DisneyBoy 1 Link to comment
Maelstrom November 11, 2015 Share November 11, 2015 Things are tense between Steve and Kayla. She's super disappointed in him (although I keep getting distracted by her GIANT NECKLACE made of metallic leaves and… acorns? Ginormo beads? It looks like it weighs a ton and might also be the key to opening a gateway for a Celtic God to enter our world. Hail Lord Cernunnos!) Dandesun, your recaps are more entertaining than the show itself has been in years. Thank you, and stay awesome. 1 Link to comment
Dandesun November 11, 2015 Share November 11, 2015 Thanks Maelstrom. They're really fun to do. A blast from the past in a lot of ways because this was at a time I had started paying some attention to fashion (such as it was in the mid-80s) so a lot of these looks I actually remember in a sense (and owned some of them... like the silky nightshirts. Although the less said about my faux leather purple tie the better, I think.) and it's really cool to experience some excellent soap stuff for the first time. I will try to continue some notes tonight although it's really difficult to write under a pile of dogs (they like to cuddle on the couch) so we'll see. 2 Link to comment
teacake November 11, 2015 Share November 11, 2015 And I've never understood all the vocal resentment of EJ, a self proclaimed 'bad man' and his coerced sex with Sami, but the acceptance of Jack as a changed man after his much more brutal and violent rape of Kayla. It blows my mind that Kayla and Jennifer can be causal with each other when Jennifer married Kayla's ex-husband and rapist. Before Jack and Jennifer were even really together, Jack was hanging out in the delivery room after Kayla gave birth to Stephanie, and he was supposed to be Steve's best man in their second wedding (which was interrupted when Kayla was arrested for murder). Kayla's acceptance of Jack was a little OTT for me, but Jennifer didn't really figure in because Kayla's resentment of him was pretty dead by the time they were really a couple. (So was Steve, for that matter.) I was getting burnt out on the stalling last week, but loving this week so far. Hope things keep moving along now that Bo is back to town. 1 Link to comment
bantering November 11, 2015 Share November 11, 2015 (edited) I liked both EJ and Jack, but I think EJ consistently got weird writing where he was making strange decisions all the time even after the blackmail of Sami. Jack could show a propensity for being more normal at times, which is why I can sort of see why people preferred him as a character. I think both the EJami and Jack and Jennifer storylines were unrealistic in different ways. The entire dynamic of Ejami was weird over the long-term (the blackmail was bad enough, but then the kidnapping, shooting, double Rafes, and affair -- geez, no couple in real life would want to be near each other after all of that). As for Jack and Jennifer, in real life, I really don't think someone like Jennifer could fall for someone who had committed a rape, but the actors sold it. I assume the Jack and Jennifer storyline happened accidentally -- as in, I don't think the writers intended to pair them, but the writers were led by the chemistry into writing them as a couple. What I don't get about Ejami is that the writers initially paired them, the characters had very good chemistry, and then they STILL decided to write a blackmail/rape/sexual coercion in. WTF. Then the cycle begins all over again where the writers pair them, the characters show very good chemistry, and then the writers decide to throw in some other wacko wrench to make the relationship look even more dysfunctional than it already is. Double WTF. That said, I think JS and AS sold the stupidity really well, but I'll never understand the writing they got... Edited November 11, 2015 by bantering 7 Link to comment
Happytobehere November 11, 2015 Share November 11, 2015 I like Steve and Bo better than Kayla and Steve or Bo and Hope. Preverts will never like me. Because of my use of Vodka and dang, I never thought about Bo and Steve before! I co-sign on liking Steve and Bo better than Bo and Hope. At least temporarily I like Steve and Bo better than Steve and Kayla because we have seen no forward movement on that in months. I understand he was brought back early to usher in teen Joey because the fleeing from school story had to correspond with the start of school, but basically nothing has happened between Steve and the woman he supposedly came to win back for four months. Now I'm thinking about who is going to be Steve's snark buddy with Bo gone. Are we going to get Steve and John, or will Steve be left friendless. Such sadness but no Vodka to comfort me. Maybe we can get a campaign going to resurrect Bo for Steve's sake. 3 Link to comment

BlackMamba November 11, 2015 Share November 11, 2015 I hate a weak woman on a soap opera. I hate it when women are portrayed so weak and unable to fight for themselves, waiting for a man to save them.. I like that Hope was at least a fighter until Aidan caused her to go unconscious. Otherwise she would have kept fighting, that's just how Hope is. It does bug me a little that she got knocked out and Bo had to be the one to finish him off though. A woman can never do it all by herself Thats why I love Marlena, Hope and Sami they fight back and defend themselves. I watched old scenes when Stefano tried kidnapping a young Sami and Eric and Marlena put a damn bullet in him. Sami shot Alan's nuts off when he tried attackimg her again. And Hope recently gave Aiden a good fightz didn't she cut him with those scissors since there was blood on her dress, cant remember. But yes this is a woman's genre stop writing the women characters so stupid daytime. The fans left want to see smart, tough heroines not sitting around crying waiting for someone to save them. This is 2015 not 1984. 3 Link to comment
BlackMamba November 11, 2015 Share November 11, 2015 I still find it hard to believe that the Hortons would be understanding of Gabi..She shot an unarmed man..It was first degree murder..It is obvious to me that the writers wanted to dismantle the Wilson family, so Gabi was conveniently release in order to facilitate that... An unarmed Nick who tried to rape her. The Hortons weren't always saintly as they are now. Bill Horton raped Laura Spencer years before she said 'I do' to him. Julie was a shoplifter. Then drop to later years with Lucas, while being misguided a lot by Kate, wasn't all good natured til Will finally came out and fall in love with Sonny. Link to comment
Apprentice79 November 11, 2015 Share November 11, 2015 The night that Gabi killed Nick. He was alone in the park and he was not a threat to her at that time..Let's not forget Gabi defending Nick at every opportunity, when everybody told her to stay away from him..She got an attitude when he was not invited to the Wilson wedding...She could not understand why the grooms would not want him there... 1 Link to comment
Artsda November 11, 2015 Share November 11, 2015 (edited) Yes, really. I don't doubt they all wish that things could've gone differently, but given that Nick had come unglued again, and on top of that, was trying to keep Ari from Will and Sonny again, this time in a worse way than before, I'd think they'd at least see her side of things. Blackmail and custody issues is not worthy of shooting an unarmed man multiple times in cold blood. Gabi also participated in some of Nick's schemes and custody battle with Will and Sonny. She's not innocent in so much, she's sitting front row next to Maggie after murdering Nick and also helped kidnap her granddaughter. Maggie's just over all that? They just don't want to write the Horton's hating her, so it's washed away. Edited November 11, 2015 by Artsda 2 Link to comment

I can't decide if it was another one of their shock value tactics or it was to cement EJ as more of a bad guy. If it was simply part of the plot device to get Sami pregnant w/twins, one to Lucas and one to EJ, they could have simply had Sami and EJ have a one night go at it. It's not like they weren't already attracted to each other that them sleeping together would have been unbelievable. But honestly, and this is probably going to sound strange and could only apply to them as a couple which I guess is part of what makes them so unique but.....I found EJ's affair w/Trollop far more disturbing than his sexual coercion of Sami. After all, in the grand scheme of things he and Sami had some wild, frenzied, rough consensual sex over the years, one immediately following the news of their son's supposed death while they were married to other people. So when it comes to their sex life, it was easier to roll with it than try to figure it out. On the other hand, the Trollop affair was just poor writing that made little sense. EJ and Abby barely interacted leading up to it, and their mini storyline w/Jack's book/poems/whatever it was portrayed her with a slight crush but EJ didn't show sexual interest. Yes, he was having problems with Sami and had she took off with the kids I might have believed him acting out and screwing Abs in frustration, but he and Sami were not that far gone and their relationship had been far worse in the past for it to be believable that EJ would turn to the town princess. But then I firmly believe that entire storyline was Corday acting out against two show front runners who were leaving him in the dust while propping his new favorite gal. 3 Link to comment

Your post is perfect..I hated Sami being pregnant with twins by Lucas and EJ. Johnny should be for Lucas. Sydney could stay EJ's...The EJ and Abby was nonsensical, just like Will's affair with Paul and Eve's affair with JJ..There was no buildup to it..The actor who played EJ hated the affair storyline.. 3 Link to comment

In the end, I think it works out with Johnny & Sidney being Ej's and Will and Allie being Lucas's. Sami has a boy and girl to both. It's even. And I figure at some point (if written right) Johnny will be a pivotal character as a Dimera. But I wholeheartedly agree that the lack of build up to these affairs is just sloppy writing on the show's part. And it was totally clear that JS was just phoning it in when it came to the Trollop sex storyline. Edited November 11, 2015 by Peanut6711 1 Link to comment
Apprentice79 November 11, 2015 Share November 11, 2015 Sami having twins by 2 different men makes her look bad. I don't want to use that word, but you get what I mean. It is why that I hated it...I actually thought that it was a trick by EJ to hold on to Sami..Silly me! Guiding light had a similar story with Blake having fraternal twin boys by 2 different men..Thankfully the show reversed that... 2 Link to comment

Ya know, I always wondered if that's why they had EJ coerce her into it rather than them willingly having a one night stand either soon after or before her being with Lucas. Perhaps it was somehow not supposed to make Sami look like a "naughty girl." Although it's not like plenty of other characters haven't "double dipped" so to speak. I seem to recall her own sister getting sweaty with both Austin and Lucas on the same night and she was supposed to be the good girl. And even Hope is probably about to have close encounters with two men. Wedding night sex with her murderous ex and reunion sex with her other ex is only romantic in Ken Corday's book of love. 1 Link to comment
Apprentice79 November 11, 2015 Share November 11, 2015 (edited) I still think it is gross. The Lumi fan in me only wants Lucas to be the father of her children, it would be in the same vein as past couples on the show..Sydney was not needed to be honest..Ally wanted her pregnancy written in and the writers acquiesced...I always hated that Billie and Bo had a child, it should have been with Carly...I always wanted Carrie and Austin to have had a son years ago, after Will's paternity was revealed..It would have been cool to see Will and his cousin form a brotherly bond that would contrast perfectly with their mothers' tempestuous relationship...
